...I got to work with animals
in a whole new setting.

The animal actors are real pros...

...and I can't wait for you
to meet them up close.

IRWIN: I've always loved animals,
and working on this movie...

...gave me the chance to put my love
for wildlife on the big screen.

Not only did I get to spend time
in the water...

...with a very famous whale...

...but I made friends with lion cubs,
giraffes, pelicans, fawns and penguins.

MAN:
Bindi is really comfortable with wildlife.

She's been grabbing hold
of crocodiles...

...ever since she was a little kid.

And she loves animals.

And so she's just having a great time.

Every animal is an actor, too...

...and that means
they have to have special training...

...to help them in their performance.

BO Y:
Engelbert's a star.

He looks too cute in his little tuxedo.

Besides the fantastic animals
at Pirate's Cove...

...we also got to film
at a wildlife reserve.

There we got to work with baby lions,
giraffes and other amazing creatures.

it'll lock his paws away from you.

IRWIN: The trainers really helped me
to work with the lions.

They told me
that they really do love food...

...so they'll stay in one spot,
just if they have food, though.

Like, if they wanted me
to stay in one spot...

...they'd just put my favorite food
in front of me.

And I would too. It's great.

I've got a giraffe that needs feeding.

IRWIN:
Wow.

The giraffe was so cute.

because when it stood on you...

...it felt really different.

Like, you couldn't pick it if you had
your eyes closed and they said:

land on your head."

You'd never pick it.

Working with animals in real life...

...it's a one-take wonder
because they're not trained.

But in movies,
you have to have the animal trained...

...because you do the takes
quite a few times.

So it was very different,
but it was a great experience.

it's bigger than me, pretty much...

...so it's very heavy.

It's always so much fun to work with Siya
because he's a great guy...

because he's going so fast.
