that were out at the time,

and two years later,
Versace was making me outfits.

So it was, like, full circle.

You know, that single
came out on my birthday,

November 17, 1992.

I was actually really
hoping to get this one

because Supermodel of the World

was released
the year I was born.

Ah. Fuck you.

But it actually has

some really special places
in my art,

because this is, like,
the first Ru that I ever saw.

And growing up in our house,

your name was like
a curse word for a while.

I had a really
homophobic stepdad.

So we'd see, like,
any queer people in the street,

So I have you as one of
my greatest inspirations.

I love that, and this outfit
looks really beautiful so far.

These are some gigantic
hakama pants.

It's this Japanese silhouette.

And what I wanna do
is take these gigantic pants

and add the layers of the tulle
that you have all the way down

so that it'll get redder
and redder towards the bottom.

And then I wanna take the idea
of the gloves and the ruffles,

and have just
gigantic, ruffly gloves

that hopefully billow up
over my shoulders.

that sounds fantastic.

So we're gonna see how much
a lady can make work.

My plan is to take Ru's
Supermodel of the World look

and flip it upside down

to get Yvie,
Supermodel of the Underworld.

just challenge myself

and try to do it
for the very first time here?

because that's the one that I am
most emotionally connected to,

because I was graduating
high school in '92.

First up, Yvie Oddly

reimagining
my Supermodel of the World look.

Once upon a time,
there was a little Black girl

from the Brewster projects
of Denver, Colorado.

[all laugh]

Yvie: I turned
Ru's giant, ruffled skirt

into these cool glove things

and her orange bodice into
these flowing hakama pants.

Whoa, right. Kick it.

-Woot, woot.
-[laughs]

And I'm just channeling
Supermodel of the World

in the most punk,
Yvie way I know how.

-Gorgeous.
-Mm-hmm.

RuPaul:
Up next, The Vivienne,

reimagining
my Despy Awards look.

Michelle:
I, for one, West-would.

Vivienne: This legendary
Legend look is liquid gold,

and it is pouring
down the runway.

The legs are out, I feel
stunning in this vintage hair.

reimagining
my Season 8 promo look.

of ruffles and rhinestones.

there's a lot of shine.

I love how you reinterpreted
the classic Ru look.

Instead of doing
the ruffled tulle skirt,

you did this amazing shrug.

It gives us that tension and
that interest and excitement

that makes for a great look.

Gorgeous combinations,

and I thought you presented it
really beautifully.

By the way,
making a pant like that,

not an easy thing to do.

And you did it.
Like, it's finished beautifully.

That fabric
is not easy to work with.

I'm glad I got to show
my love for pants

at least once on this runway.

And, you know,
when I saw the pants,

they looked great even
in the process of making them.

I knew this would turn out
really well.

You are this crash of severe,
like, power woman and funny.

Your quirky little things you do

with that gorgeous,
simple look,

that was just a moment
for me of fashion.

Up next, Le Vivienne.

The makeup, I mean, you look

like an airbrushed,
like, painting.

It is so flawless.

The reinterpretation of this
beautiful gold lamé look,

but done, to me, in a very,
like, Vivienne Westwood,

English kind of punk way.

You look so gorgeous,

but so, like, born that way.

So glam, but so comfortable
and smooth.

I just feel like I wanna
tear up a bar or something.

It's marvelous.

The eyes
don't know where to land

because there's so many
delicious, juicy places to land.

you look like Bella Hadid.

Whatever she Hadid,
it's working.

and turned it
into more of a rock and roll,

pared-down and slick look.

Great interpretation.

Love the headscarf.

You gave us all that body
and all that ruffled taffeta

with the painted leopard
details. Perfection.

This is phenomenal.

It reminds me of, like,
the original Barbie.

It does, with those glasses.

Just so adorable,
so fun, funky, modern.

Shea, this is fantastic.

I love that you flipped
the volume to the top part.

You clearly know the silhouette,

and you were able
to reinterpret this look

into a completely different era,
and it's just lovely.

I love how the trumpet flare
at the bottom

is two different textures.

And these bow details,
they're so crisp.

They're like a Tiffany's

You look like a movie star.

What a joy to look at
and watch you werk it.

I love the spritz,
I love the glitz,

I love the way that you walked,

the way that dress
wants to walk.

and swish of the leather

and then the fact that
you did these Diana Ross touches

the shoes mushed into the body

She distilled it down

to make a top hat,

the proportions, too.

And so to offset that
and to make it all make sense,

she smartly put that top hat
with the feathers up there.

It was a work of art,
and I absolutely loved it.

One of my favorites
of the night.

You know, Shea Couleé,
she's so chic,

and she has
such a strong point of view.

I thought it was so smart
to take that silk taffeta

and instead of giving us
the volume in the skirt,

give us the volume
in the shoulders?

about that fabric
of the dress that she wore.

She went and painted it

so it looked the way
she wanted it to be seen.

I see her as
A Clockwork Orange.

Like, scary but gorgeous.

She just interpreted

in a fantasyland, modern,
modern, modern way.

I was a little worried,
because that dress,

I believe it's
my favorite dress of all time.
