Episode 6

Hello.

Sun Woo, are you here?

Honey...

Yes,

I'm the one who called.

We need to meet and talk.

It's important.

You might be busy,

but I beg you.

Yes,

I'll be waiting.

Just sit down, sit down, sit down.

Sit, sit.

Aigoo.

They gave you a hard time, didn't they?

It's nothing.

I already talked it over with the inspection team, so don't worry.

So things should work out.

You have to return to the analysis team, and help the guys.

We have to hurry up and catch those people for you to feel better.

And I thought about what you said about Jo Soo Yeon's family

and I think what you said has some truth, Sun Woo.

I started thinking we have to take care of informants' families

for those people to help our work.

So for now, take care of your personal issue, and if there is anything too troublesome, why don't I help as your co-worker?

That's what I have in mind. What do you think?

If you can, I can't ask for any better.

Thank you.

You don't have to thank me, we're co-workers after all.

If you run into trouble, come and talk to me.

Oh right. Right.

Didn't your father work at the Ministry of Defense?

Ah, he already stopped working there, and is now working at Hedge Tech Net, an IT security company.

Oh really?

That's even better.

It's not really important, but I received a hard drive. It's related to security, so I'm looking for someone to explain it to me in simple terms.

Is he a busy person?

He is busy, but if it's only that much, it should be ok.

Really?

I can just give him a call then. I can just tell him that you introduced me to him and call him, right?

Of course.

Please do.

Alright.

I'm losing my mind.

How can everything look suspicious?

Sunbae, I dont think anything will come out.

Should we look into a wider time frame?

Try to widen it then.

Then work get's bigger again, and I can't go home again.

Then who's going to raise Sun Woo?

Sunbae, let's call Sun Woo, I think we'll be able to see something new.

I mean since he's a field agent, so maybe he can pick up suspicious movements?

Hey!

The man behind you, was also a field agent.

Isn't that before my time?

Just look into the scene.

Stop it there.

This one?

What about it?

It's just a passerby.

Aren't you over-thinking it?

This brat, seriously.

Wait, wait, slowly.

Isn't the timing too perfect?

Exactly the car stopped, and he got on it.

They were waiting for that person to come.

I think you're right about waiting for him.

Look, look, he threw away something before he got in the car.

Right? What could he have thrown away?

Aye, we can't see it even if we were to enhance it.

Seriously, the quality of public CCTVs is crap. What generation is it right now?

Time?

8:22AM.

Jo Soo Yeon fell at 8:20 AM. The location also matched.

Sunbae-nim

Where are you off to?

To find the murder weapon.

Madame!

Excuse me.

Please wait a moment.

Just a moment.

I'm really sorry.

You're working hard.

Please give us a minute.

Aigoo, it's winter.

It must have been hard on you.

Here you go.

Yes.

Thank you.

I found it.

Got it.

I'll look into the car's channel of movement within the time frame.

What are you doing?

Hedge Tech Net?

It is a trustworthy and outstanding company.

Since the first half of last year, they were closed to the public, and were just focusing on their development,

Director Kim Woo Suk is the development team's main guy.

He's the best in the country when it comes to decryption algorithms.

I understand. Thank you for telling me.

Alright.

Hedge Tech Net CTO Kim Woo Suk

Uh, Hello?

Hello, Director Kim Woo Seok.

I'm Team Leader Kim Woo Seok from the Ministry of Strategy and Finance.

Ah yes, hello.

But I'm in the middle of a meeting...

Please wait a moment.

Who did you say you were?

I'm Team Leader Song Joong Hyuk, a co-worker of Kim Sun Woo.

I'm sorry to call you while you are busy with a meeting. I was wondering if I can call you again after your meeting?

Ah, no, no.

I think the meeting will be delayed.

All of you, go out for now. Go.

Hurry, hurry.

I heard a lot from Sun Woo, he told me that you helped him out a lot after the Busan accident.

Oh that was no problem.

Our division won't work well without Sun Woo. Any how, Father,

I called you because after asking Sun Woo, he told me you could help us with something.

Ah yes, if there is anything I can help with, I should definitely help you.

But...

what kind of job?

It's nothing much. I just would like to ask you about security-related things.

It's not something to ask for your help through official channels,

but I would like to talk to you on a personal basis.

There's a lot of people who is responsible for this.

Yes. If this goes well, I think it would also be a good thing for your company.

Ah, yes, yes. Of course.

I'm alright with that.

Then I will confirm my schedule,

and call you back.

Yes, yes. I will see you then.

Please watch over Sun Woo.

Go home for now.

We'll be able to meet again soon.

Hey, stop looking. There is nothing solid yet.

The investigation team isn't doing it, so would take a day or two.

The Team Leader said not to share info to other teams, so it would take even longer.

But Team Leader is overflowing with understanding this time.

He's not like that before.

It's this guy.

How do you know?

I have met him before.

Please look into this car's plate number.

I will look into where it went.

Can we just go slowly?

It's not like it's going to get solved if it's only us who rushes things.

Thank you,

I'll drink it well -Hey, Hey..

It's hot!

Honey...

The job has turned out easier than we expected.

I was pondering how to meet this Team Leader Song,

but he first contacted me.

There's nothing to be suspicious of.

Why did he call you?

It's not that he got wind of things, no?

No, no.

He said he had something to ask me about security stuff.

I can just answer him with whatever I know.

But, where should we meet?

Should I call him to the company?

Would you be able to do it yourself?

He's probably bring some people with him,

and it's not likely he would be bringing his phone with him.

Then where would be nice to meet?

Wouldn't it be more dangerous to meet him in a restaurant?

I'm back.

Oh, Sun Woo.

Why didn't you tell me about Team Leader Song?

Ah, did team leader called?

He said he had something to ask you.

He didn't tell me what it is about.

No, he didn't go into specifics. He just asked if we could meet.

He said we'll talk after we've met.

So, are you planning of meeting him?

Of course.

I'm saving you some face too.

Did Team Leader personally call you?

He called my cell phone.

Didn't you give him my number?

Mom.

What are you doing?

O-oh..

I'm going to take out the garbage, so I was thinking if there's some in your bag.

It adds on to the weight if you keep used receipts and whatnot in your bag.

Mom, you can't just randomly look into a civil servant's bag like that. There might be some confidential information inside.

Sorry.

No, don't need to say 'sorry.'

Don't do it again next time.

Sun Woo, there's something I need to say.

Oh, speak up.

Mom, give me the phone.

Yoon Jin ♡

Why? Who is it?

Just a minute.

It's Yoon Jin.

Mom, I'll take the call.

What are you doing?

Can you not be in contact with Yoon Jin for the meantime?

I know, you are thinking my words are strange.

There's just something that makes me unsettled.

Is- Is Yoon Jin... Yoon Jin,

what about her makes you unsettled?

Her birthplace to her parents.

It's not one thing or two that's suspicious about her.

What exactly are you suspicious of?

Should she show you her registration card?

Sure. If it's okay with her.

Mom!!

I don't know about other people, but

Mom, you can't do that to Yoon Jin.

Do you think you know everything about Yoon Jin?

What the...?

That's right, I don't know about anything else, but...

she is very much like you.

WE ARE NOT ALIKE!

Fine.

I must have been misunderstanding you.

But..

how much do you think you know about me?

What I'm thinking and what I like...

Do you think you know about it all?

Sun Woo, just this once, listen to me-

"Just this once", "THIS ONCE!" Please!

How longer will you keep me in check using those words?

This time, please, just listen to me.

Sun Woo...

I'm not a child.

Whatever I do, or whoever I date...

It is my business.

Don't make me disappoint me again,

Please.

I'm home.

What now? He argued with Mom again?

What is there to fight with that nerdy Oppa?

It's menopause, menopause!

Find contacts Mom

Why did you say that all of the sudden?

You know very well how Sun Woo feels.

You think that I'm the one who did wrong?

That I don't know anything, and is just biased against Yoon Jin?

It's true that you don't trust in anything other than our family.

Taking into consideration our task these past few days,

you must just be hypersensitive.

Yoon Jin, that girl...

There's something strange (about her).

It constantly weighs on my mind.

Why? Did you find anything at that house?

Nothing.

What's the problem then?

You're just a little more sensitive because of what's happening lately.

It's best to leave the young ones' dating lives to them.

We have a rather urgent business with Song Joong Hyuk, don't we?

Ask (him) to come to our house.

What? Yoon Jin?

What are you going to do after you call her here?

If Sun Woo is like that-

I meant Song Joong Hyuk.

Invite him over.

We would be able to do it with the two of us in the house.

Hello?

It's going to be hard to talk today.

Why? Is there something going on at home?

It's not that, but we're under surveillance.

I'll try again tomorrow.

Also, I told you not to call first, didn't I?

Scheduled time is at 8 am. Don't call first ever again.

To Mom Mom, I'm sorry.

What happened?

We'll get them out. No for real, we'll get them out.

But they might get hurt on the way out.

There was the incident from last time too.

They're saying we can't guarantee their safety either.

I think we'll have to get them to Korea as soon as possible.

Is there a way to make it happen?

I'll do whatever I can.

Dad, have you made an appointment with Team Leader?

No,

we haven't decided on a date yet.

Why? Did he say something?

No, he didn't say anything.

Can you call Team Leader right now?

Wait, no.

In three minutes. Three minutes.

Oh.

I have something to say, Team Leader.

What is it? It's about Jo Soo Yeon's family.

Wait a second. I have a call. Wait.

Because of who?

Jo Soo Yeon's family.

Really? Then wait.

Yes hello, Director Kim Woo Seok. Have you set a date?

Yes, I'll go meet you at that time.

Welcome.

I'm here for a consultation.

Yes. If you look here it explains the...

Unknown caller

- Why are you calling? - Is your work going well?

You're not doing something useless again and wasting your energy, are you?

The other party is a NIS team leader. You know it's not that easy.

You said you'd be able to do it.

If you can't do it tell me. I don't have time.

I'm almost done. I'll meet him soon.

- How? - He called first saying that he wants to meet my husband.

Kim Woo Suk?

- Why? - I don't know the specifics either.

It's not important to you either.

Don't we just need to put a bug on his phone?

Yesterday, you were begging me to save you,

it looks like you already pulled yourself together. That's good.

Just don't fail.

Schedule 5 pm Young Seo's school

Young Seo? You already at home?

Sorry, I'm still outside. - Mom!

If you weren't going to be home you should have at least left some money.

I'm not done at cram school until 9. Are you telling me to starve until then?

Sorry, I'll be back as soon as possible.

Young Seo, I'm sorry, just eat instant ramen noodles for today.

Mom!

Because of the things happening recently,

you've just become sensitive.

Closed

No, this can't happen.

Don't you know that we shouldn't meet like this?

Why'd you ask to see me?

This work.

First, I want to stop.

Is our work

something that you can stop doing if you want to?

That's not what I mean.

I'm okay with going to China again

and you can also give me something else to do here.

I don't want to participate

in following Sun Woo anymore.

Sun Woo...

Comrade Lee Yoon Jin,

are you in a real relationship with him?

There's nothing for me to do if I stay. His mom...

no

Kim Sung Hye,

she's also working for us now.

If you suddenly disappear

will Kim Sun Woo stay put?

With that personality, he'll probably run around trying to find you, comrade,

and what if he finds out your identity in the process?

I'll break up with him.

I'll tell him that I'm going to China and that I don't want to date him anymore.

I'll make him give up somehow

so please.

Comrade,

you knew Jo Soo Yeon, didn't you?

I was friends with her when we were in training.

I've never met her in the South.

- Then you killed your friend. - I didn't know

that it was related to Soo Yeon. - If you'd known

were you not going to report it?

Jo Soo Yeon died for not being loyal to the party.

I thought you were different Comrade Jo Yoon Jin

from the way you carried out your duties.

Was I wrong?

- I'm different. - Do you like Kim Sun Woo that much?

Enough to go against the command of the party that raised you?

- No. - If you abandon your country and your family do you think Kim Sun Woo will accept you?

You two were never meant to be.

It's better to fulfill your mission well, and be treated as a hero.

That's the path for you

and your family to become happy, comrade.

Understood.

Eat a lot..

If you want to live two lives, you have to eat at least twice the amount.

We tried our best, but the last location of the car

has been nothing more than where it disappeared.

And?

Huh?

That's why... - You haven't found the car yet?

Yes. We've followed the car through its movement from what was captured in the CCTVs,

but because the car went through a road without a CCTV in the middle...

If they become aware of this, they might destroy the car.

So we decided to just watch over the situation for now.

Okay, I understand. Just watch the situation for now,

Until we get solid evidence,

let's keep it among us, understand?

What's next?

The perpetrator of the recent incidents is in-charge of the new line of spies from the North.

It seems to be the guy with the burn scar.

Among the spies on the commemoration photo we've acquired recently,

we are looking for a guy with the same face.

Try to look for him. Getting his name isn't of importance,

Let's end the meeting here. You've all worked hard.

Oh, it's me. Talk.

Really? Okay, you've worked hard.

Sun Woo.

Remember the thing you asked me? It went well, I heard.

Then right now...

They've just arrived.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

That's fine.

Thank you very much!

There would be a simple interrogation following the protocol of this country.

Please follow them this way.

Please go this way.

Please wait.

Your name and age.

My name is Kim Sun Shil.

I am 47 years old.

You've defected here to the South really fast.

I don't know about that.

My daughter... I've heard my daughter saved me.

What is your daughter's name?

Jo Soo Yeon.

Jo Soo Yeon...

You've went through so much after being interrogated as soon as you arrived.

I am Kim Sun Woo.

Nothing will happen,

so please be reassured.

Soo Yeon asked me for a favor.

Ah, is that so?

Then, where is my Soo Yeon?

They said I would meet her if I come here.

After I get interrogated, would I be able to see her?

Sun Woo, your voice sounds nice today.

It's all done.

That's good.

You really suffered a lot.

I was thinking of stopping by your house for a while before I head home. Is that alright?

Of course. Have you had dinner already?

The supermarket had a huge sale as I was on my way home, so I ended up buying a lot.

Is there anything you want to eat?

Should I make curry? Are you already sick of it?

I'll make a lot of yummy food,

so hurry here.

I'm almost home.

I'll see you later then.

Mom, did you meet with Yoon Jin, by any chance?

No. What business do I have with her to meet her?

Whatever happens, my feelings won't change.

Are you sure it won't really change?

Leave. Either you run away, or come back with another mission,

you have to stop now with this.

If you tell me to choose one between love and family,

I will choose family all over again

Yoon Jin, do you want to come to my house tomorrow for dinner?

I want to officially introduce you to my family, with marriage in mind.

Name Hwang Ki Chul. Name and location unknown.

Alias Costrablin (?), he's an agent who specializes in kidnapping and assassination.

This one's a legit Commie.

Jo Seo Yeon, who has been instrumental in the last operation, has been killed by this person.

Ask your husband to summon Team Leader Song Joong Hyuk.

Tell him to bring the hard drive with him.

Are you thinking of taking the thing and killing him?

Sung Hye, this is the last job. Do well.

No matter what happens, this time, Hwang Ki Chul...

I will definitely capture him.
