my first film, Jews in Space,

I rummaged through my grandparent's house
looking for props.

My grandfather was an amateur filmmaker.

Among his belongings,
I found four 35mm film cans,

along with a folder containing a script,

a storyboard,

old photographs,

a book,

the score sheet to a tango song

and an obituary.

That was the first time I was faced
with the story of Laila Salama.
