We know the importance of standing out in search results.

Now not every print-on-demand Marketplace.

Lets you customize your primary thumbnail.

Now,

the primary thumbnail.

Is the picture of your product?

That customer sea in search results before they click your

listing to go to your listing page.

So,

it's really important that we make the primary thumbnail that

gets displayed in search results,

representing your product,

like,

surrounded by your competition.

It's really important that we make it good now,

quick,

disclaimer certain opportunities like Amazon merch.

And Redbubble do not let you customize your thumbnail.

So you won't be able to do this.

But if you're selling a lawn,

like,

Amazon Seller Central,

or Etsy and really,

for me at Sea is where it's important,

Amazon Seller Central,

they require you to have a white background.

So you really restricted in what you can do with

Seller Central plus.

I don't know that it's worth the additional time spent

to generate a new thumbnail because,

you know,

it doesn't cost anything to post to Seller Central.

Where's AT&T charge,

you $0.20

per listing.

So I always really tried to make my Etsy.

Really good,

and that's probably why I was as successful as I

was selling print on demand on Etsy.

So,

what I've got here in front of you,

is a thumbnail template that I built,

and I'll put a link to it in the description

underneath this video in the lecture.

In case you want to go.

You don't need to purchase it though.

You can also rebuild it yourself.

I'll show you exactly how you did this.

So then you can,

you can build this in,

whatever graphic design software of your preference.

But this is how I optimize mine.

So I set the canvas size to 11:40

by 9:12.

So I'm really optimizing for Etsy here.

All right.

And now what I've done is just for the sake

of his demo,

I went and I pulled a printful t-shirt into my

template and when I said,

optimize for printful pushing cats because of the size that

you get,

when you put pull from print out at Sea and

I've actually got a listing here that I'm going to

work on,

but this listing does not have a custom primary thumbnail.

So I was thinking like this is an example of

how I would go and edit a listing,

generate a better thumbnail.

That would hopefully get more clicks in search results in

the monster on this page.

You're in better shape.

Okay,

but one thing,

it needs to be drilled home guys is people are

not buying the product as much as they're buying the

design in most cases.

Like,

if you're selling T-shirts,

that's almost assuredly the case.

Unless there's something special about your T-shirt,

eco-friendly will then make sure the higher highlight eco-friendly,

right?

But if you're if you're recreating this thumbnail,

template with you,

by the way,

so go ahead and set your canvas eyes.

When you start to 11:40

by 9:12,

and then you're the one who pull in your design.

And if you're wondering where I got,

this guy's just go to printful or go wherever you

go,

whatever production partner you're using,

you can go,

and you can grab it from from Fools.

Like,

you can literally just click the product in your store

and it'll show you the rendering.

You can also just honestly pull it from Your your

shop,

so I grab this image by just going to the

Etsy listing and going to right click and then copy

image.

So you have a lot of options here.

But now what I want to do is I want

a magic wand the white background off because Etsy does

not have the white background requirement.

So I'm not going to use a white background for

an Etsy listing.

So make sure I don't miss anything there.

Now.

I've got this shirt and you can see the size

of the design relative to the size of the thumbnail.

Look at my design.

My design is really this portion right here.

It's really this portion that I just highlighted.

So my design right now,

only represents maybe at best.

Less than 20% of the overall thumbnail,

but the design is what people are buying,

especially with t-shirts,

were they don't really care.

Most,

the average customer does not care about the T-shirt.

They care about the design and they know they got

hundreds of options.

So,

what I highly recommend doing and by the way,

check out the background.

So part of what,

and I'll show you how to do this on your

own,

but part of what you get in my thumbnail generator.

Template is a bunch of beasts background that really pop

ups on Etsy.

Again,

you can do whatever background you want to do something

that's different,

that pops off the screen that makes people stop and

do a double-take and say,

what's going on there.

That's what I intended to do here.

So,

what am I to do?

First those,

they're buying the design,

so I'm going to grab that layer.

Select the layer on the right hand side under layers.

I'm going to take control tea.

That when I hit Ctrl T.

And by the way,

if you're if you're in photo Pia,

you have to hit control-alt-delete t on your keyboard.

This will allow you to resize.

And now what I'm going to do is I'm going

to drag the corner.

I'm going to make this design really big and then

try to kind of Center the design.

I just will distort the graphic a little bit,

but photoshop's really good about recalculating.

How it should be displayed,

and it doesn't make it look too bad.

Now,

check this out,

all the sudden,

the design here represents 33%,

Maybe,

maybe even more,

maybe like 35% of the overall thumbnail.

This is what's going to generate clicks.

People are buying the design more than the shirt.

So make it big,

but it's also still displayed on the final product.

So it's not misleading.

That's what we've done here.

And then you can kind of change the backgrounds and

find one that you think works,

you know,

just anything that that,

that pops,

what I like to do sometimes as you know,

in this case like we can pop on over to

Etsy and do a keyword search.

Fruit similar keyword.

So I type in Dogecoin shirt and then look at

the competition.

What will stand out the most based on what we

see here?

All right.

Just a value at the competition.

Lot of white background,

by the way,

that's easy to be better than the white background.

A lot of small designs.

We can beat all of these guys.

You know what?

I didn't see,

I didn't see a red background,

red backgrounds are on,

and I also like the strong pink,

you know,

if I think something like the pink,

the red really,

you can't do anything wrong.

There's no right or wrong answer.

I just think anything that makes you stand out a

little bit.

Is a good thing.

Right?

And sometimes I like to do is all right,

click the T-shirt layer.

Go to blending options and then I'll click drop shadow,

you know,

a lot of times.

I like to do a little bit of a drop

shadow.

I just think it adds a nice little subtle effect

there.

And what I also used to do and I know

this is getting a little bit in advance.

So you guys don't need to go any further than

this.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by all of this,

but I do recommend a few more things,

right?

Number one,

sometimes printful cells,

or whatever,

production partner using,

but nothing painful.

They sell made in USA products.

If you sell something made in the USA,

put a meeting you were a graphic on the on

the shirt because that's a big thing to buyers.

A lot of buyers are willing to pay more for

products made in the USA.

So don't be afraid to pull in a graphic that

says,

Made in the USA.

One in the template.

If you offer personalization,

for instance,

this shirt doesn't have any texts to great candidate for

personalization.

Make a layer that says personalization available.

How do I do this?

Guy's it's two layers,

right?

You got a background layer.

That's the Black color block and I just put some

white text on top of it that says personalization available.

Now,

the font family I used is called League,

Gothic League Gothic is a great font for tall,

bold letters.

Call bold and thin so it allowed me to squeeze

quite a bit of texting here,

you know,

in in without breaking it to a new lines.

I didn't want to be too much too.

Overbearing.

So check this out for Su primary.

We just went from,

literally this.

Let me show you what the current primary phone is

this.

Which is okay,

but it's far from great went from that to this

where the design is huge.

You can still see it's being sold on t-shirts and

boom personalization available.

Oh,

yeah,

and it electric pink background that no other product has

just you.

You know,

this is this is how you win the game guys.

And one last thing that I used to do and

you know,

I'd recommend doing it,

if you're going to use your template,

a lot is,

put your shop logo.

In the corner.

Now,

it's a means completely up to you.

Like this is I don't have a logo ready.

So let's pretend like,

this is my shop logo.

I'll just grab the,

the Doge,

the Doge logo.

The Doge doggy,

flu.

Cryptocurrency,

Dogecoin,

meme,

cryptocurrency,

pretended.

That's my logo.

All right.

I'm going to pay stickier.

And if this is my shop logo,

what I would do that,

make it small,

but I would put it in the top right corner

or something like that,

and you can even change the opacity.

So like I don't know 70% so it's not too

overbearing or 50% Even you see it up there.

So it's not too overbearing.

But if that's my shop logo and I put that

on all my primary thumbnails.

It looks pretty professional anything.

You can do to stand out to change.

The customers perception of your shop for being the best

one,

or the most professional one,

or you don't even do it.

Especially if you can templatize it,

which is what I just did.

So now everytime I'm doing at Sea uploads,

jump on over to my template.

Boom.

Here we go.

We got a great primary thumbnail now and keep in

mind to that.

You know,

if you're worried that goes Zoomed In Too Much.

Well,

all we're doing is we're putting the very first image

on Etsy for uploading a unique one that we built.

Okay,

all the other ones will still get push from Principal

printify.

Whoever you're using,

they all get pushed.

So then when people get to the listing cuz you

got to click in search results,

which is way harder to do.

Once you got them here,

converting them is pretty easy,

right?

And you still have all these other renderings generated.

So they know what you're selling and they'll end up

hopefully adding to cart and checking out.

So,

that's really what I wanted to show you guys.

As far as generating unique thumbnails that get clicked.

You can't skip the steps.

I mean,

you can skip them but You know what?

I mean?

You got to play the game in my mind.

It's like it's minimal extra effort to create a nice

thumbnail,

that pops like this one.

Please set aside the time to do it.

You will not regret.
