Let's talk about fingernails, so you want to keep your fingernails short on the left hand for sure,

if you try to play, you know, with with long nails on your left hand, especially, you know, ladies,

it's going to be difficult to play with the very tips of the fingers, which is what we're going to

need to do when when Fredi notes with proper technique.

So if that fingernail gets in the way, it's really becomes a problem.

So you got to keep your fingernails fairly short on on the left hand for playing the guitar.

Now, on the right hand, I like to play with very short fingernails so I don't use my nails for playing

at all.

I like the sound of just the pads of the fingers.

And this also is quite practical because if you have fingernails that you use for playing, you know,

you have to really maintain them.

Well, some people use acrylic nails and and, you know, classical musicians get a beautiful sound

with fingernails on nylon string guitar.

But my choice is to play with the pads of the fingers.

And if you're unsure or just beginning, I encourage you to just experiment, playing with the pads

of your fingers and keeping the nails short on both hands, especially the left hand, because you don't

want to, you know, be having those fingernails competing for the the fingerboard real estate down

here.
