in front of the whole class.

- Oh, I love Shakespeare!

His plays and his sonnets...

What's the big deal about you
doing Shakespeare

in front of the class?

- I mean,
what if I mess up a line,

or what if I'm a terrible actor?

- Son, you'll be fine,
stop trippin'.

- Mm-mm, you don't mean that,

you're just saying that
'cuz you're my dad.

- Of course I'm saying it
because I'm your dad,

you're probably
gonna stink, all right?

But the embarrassment of it all,
it's not gonna kill you, relax.

- You're a terrible motivator,

my life's gonna be over.

- [mimics son]

- LEAH: Oh.
- They are snickerdoodle recipe.

- Mm.
- I got it from the queen.

- Of England?

- Oh. [giggles]
- [audience laughs]

- We, uh, sat together on
my bucket list trip to Italy.

- Ah! I love how
well travelled you are.

- Oh, just one of the benefits

of being a retired
flight attendant.

- Mm.
- That and a lifetime supply

of snacks.
- [laughs] That's hilarious.

- Oh my.
- Mm.

I just thought it'll be funny
'cuz I had 'em.

You know, I, um,
heard about Philip's situation,

and I might be able to help.

- I would appreciate that.

I look forward to this.

It's been so long since I've
attended a tea party. [laughs]

- Yes.

- I heard you
mention it the other day,

and I thought it would be nice.

- Oh, and the snickerdoodles
are so good.

- CORA: Mm-hm.
- And sugar, just enough to take

you to the brink of diabetes.

- [laughs]

- Oh, you ladies look so lovely
in your hats.

You know, I only get to
wear mine to church,

and I was driving there,
got halfway there,

and realized I was going
to the wrong place.

- [laughs]

- Well, I don't have
any use for 'em anymore

since I've become a member
of Bedside Baptist.

- Oh, well, you know,
I love your hat, it's gorgeous,

you gonna have to tell me
where you got it.

- Oh, you can have it.

- No.

- I told you I don't wear
these things anymore.

- Oh, are you sure?

- I'd give it to you right now,
if it wasn't pinned to my wig.

I take it off now,
I'll look like Morgan Freeman.

- Oh my goodness. [laughs]

- I just adore this tea set.

- CORA: Mm-hm, it's lovely.

- You like it?

It's yours.

- Oh, I can't accept that.

- Oh, you'll be
doing me a favor,

I'm trying to de-clutter,
and forgot I had this old thing.

- Oh my goodness,
that is so nice of you.

I love it!

- From one friend to another.

- Oh.

- Awww, you gonna make me cry
on my snickerdoodle.

- [laughs]
- CORA: That's so sweet.

- But there is one thing
you could do for me.

- Oh, what is that?

- Put some of that
acting talent to use.

- Oh, you want me in a play,
movie, commercial?

- No, as an acting coach.

Philip needs to perform
Shakespeare for his class,

and he needs your help.

- Oh, I'm not sure
I can do that.

- CORA: That's a great idea,
and you're an awesome actress,

and you have
decades of experience.

- You didn't have
to emphasis decades.

- [audience laughs]

- MARILYN: Anastasia, if he gets
up in front of the class

and bombs...

it'll be the end
of his social life.

- Well, I do have
a wealth of knowledge,

and I did do Shakespeare
in the Park in the 70's.

- CORA: Oh!
In New York?

- Oh no, in Memphis.

We did "The Taming of the
Jive Turkey Shrew." [laughs]

- [laughs]

- CORA: Lovely.
- I'll do it.

- MARILYN: Oh.
- Yea!

- He's gonna be so excited.
- Yes.

- ♪

- Aahh!
- [audience laughs]

- Aahh!
- Aahh!

Why are we doing this again?
Aahh!

- Okay, that's enough.

The mouth is a key tool
of the actor's expression,

so you have to warm up properly.

- And why am I doing it?

- Because you're providing
support as his mentor.

- My jaws are sore.

- Okay, that means you're ready.

Show me what you got.

- [clears throat]

[reads terribly] "O, here will I
set up my everlasting rest,

"and shake the yoke
of inauspicious stars

"from this world-wearied flesh.

Eyes, look your last!"

How was that?

- On a scale of
one to...terrible,

you should consider calling in
sick in the morning.

- [audience laughs]

- You just need
a little work, darling.

- So did the Titanic.
- [audience laughs]

- The key
to performing Shakespeare

is understand your character's
emotions and motivation.

Now, Romeo has met
the love of his life,

and he thinks she's dead.

Have a seat, darling,
I'm going to show you.

Watch carefully.

[reads brilliantly] "Arms,
take your last embrace!

"And, lips, O you the doors
of breath,

"seal with the righteous kiss.

"A dateless bargain to...

engrossing death."

- BOTH: Whoa.
- [audience laughs]

- [screams] Get...Leah...
emergency [heavy breathing].

Heart attack...outside.

- ♪
- Hurry! Whoa!

I know he mean,
but Lord heal him!

Lord, just please heal him.

Heal him!

- [audience laughs]

- Heal him!
- Brown, Brown,

will you please sit down
and shut up, man? Damn!

- [audience laughs]

- Lord, you brought back the
evil man from the heart attack?

- Mr. Brown...he's fine,
turns out it was just gas.

- Wait a minute,

you mean to tell me
rather than have a heart attack,

he had a fart-attack?
- Yep.

- Man, this is so embarrassing.

- MR. BROWN:
Oh, you're embarrassed?

I'm the one gave you CPR-ruh,

and all this time,
all you had to do was poot.

- [audience laughs]
- Wait a minute, you--

you put your mouth on mine?

- Don't try to act like I put my
mouth on you for nothing,

and by the way,
you owe me dinner.

And try to just act like
I'm just gon' put my mouth

on you for nothing.
- Now I feel like a real heart

attack is probably gon' come on.
- Boy, bye!

Breath tasting like raw sewage.

- [audience laughs]

- Oh man.

- Grandpa Vinny...
that wasn't the real one,

but you are playing with fire.

- You right, you right.
- You owe Leah an apology.

She's been trying to get you
to clean up your health,

and all you've done
is resist her.

- You right, too.
- MARILYN: You got family

who cares about you,
and you're being reckless

with your health...
now that's selfish.

- All right, I apologize,

and...think I'm gonna go in the
back room and get some rest.

Oh, Lordy. [grunts]

Oh.

- Did he just say we were right?
- [audience laughs]

- You heard that.
- [laughs]

- And he apologized.

- I thought I was just trippin.

Wow, it must be like 20 below
in Hell right now. [laughs]

- Take the win, you deserve it.

- I appreciate you

- Mmm.

- That Nurse Evilene stuff
just really hurt.

I'm just trying to make sure
everybody's healthy.

- Like I told you, I've been
a flight attendant for 30 years.

- LEAH: Mm.
- So, I understand

working a thankless job.

- Man, how did you do
that for that long

without taking one
of those complementary

pillows and, like,
smothering people?

'Cuz I'm 'bout ready to off
a couple of these residents.

- I know.
- [laughs]

- Customer service has always
been a higher calling for me.

If I can just bring joy
to one person...

then that'll be worth it.

- Woo, you are an amazing
woman. [chuckles]

- I am, but so are you.

You are a wonderful nurse,
a wife, a mother, a friend.

This place would fall apart
without you.

- You don't know how much
that just made my day.

- ♪

I totally crushed my,
"Romeo and Juliet" scene today.

I got an 'A',
a standing ovation,

and three girls' numbers.

- That's my boy!
- Woo!

- We're talking about the A's.

- Right, right, right,
I know, right?

- JEREMY: Yeah.
- They was cute.

- I'm your girlfriend, okay?

- Ms. Anastasia, guess what?

- Oh, I'm too old to guess,
just spit it out.

- Okay, I got an 'A'
and a standing ovation

on my "Romeo and Juliet"
scene today.

- Oh my!
I'm so proud of you.

Did you get any numbers?

- Three of 'em.

- ANASTASIA:
[laughs] That's my boy!

- All I can say is thank you.

- Oh, you have Marilyn to thank,
this was her doing.

- All right.

Mr. Reginald, guess what?
I got an A on my scene.

I went from ashy to classy.

- That's what I know.

- [laughs]

- Hey, everybody,
y'all ready for this walk?

- Yep.
- Woo-hoo!

Where's Ms. Marilyn?

- Oh, I haven't seen her.

- Oh, she's probably
in her room.

I--I--I'll be back,
I'ma go check.

- Okay, let's get it.

- VINNY: All right, y'all...
I'm ready for the walk.

Okay, let's do it.

- Now, Vinny, you said,
you wouldn't walk

unless you were walking
across Mr. Brown's grave.

- VINNY: [chuckles]
I did say that,

but, you know,
yesterday gave me a big scare,

and, uh, Marilyn got me
to thinking how selfish I was

to worry my family and,
you know,

the people who love me,
so...I'ma walk.

- Wow, she is a miracle worker

if she got through that
thick skull of yours. [laughs]

- Say that!

- All right, I'm ready
to do this, so where she at?

- Let's go.
- CORA: Um, Leah...

can--can you come with me?
It's Ms. Marilyn.

- What?
- What?

- Need you to come.
- What's wrong?

- What's going on?
- You just gon'

leave us hanging, Cora?
- What's going on?

- MR. BROWN:
What's going on?

- I don't know.

- For the past two years,

Ms. Marilyn has been battling
brain cancer.

- But she seemed perfectly fine,
just as sharp as the rest of us.

- Fortunately, her tumor
was in a part of her brain

that didn't affect
her ability to function.

- Was she aware of the tumor,
that she had it?

- CORA: Yes, ma'am.
- Very much so.

She had, uh, several surgeries,
gone through chemo,

uh, radiation therapy...
- Yes.

- It was just...
a very aggressive tumor

that kept coming back.

- So, she decided with the time
that she had left

to just enjoy life...

versus just being cooped up
in a hospital.

- You know, I knew
something was wrong,

she was moving kind
of slow lately, you know?

You notice it?
- Mm-hm.

Well, her doctor gave
her six months to live,

and...she fought hard,
and made it two.

- CORA: Yes.

- EFE: She was a
very brave woman.

Lived her life to the fullest,

even knowing
it was coming to an end.

- You just never know
when it's gonna be your time.

- I think she knew
that she was leaving,

and she was preparing us
all for her exit.

- LEAH: I agree.

She, um, left
some gifts for you all...

and this letter.

[reading] "My dearest
Pleasant Days family,

"in the short time
that I had with you,

"you all filled me with
enough warmth and love

"to last a lifetime.

"But if you're reading this,

"that means my time here
has come to an end.

"My brave Reginald,
when I first arrived,

"you were still getting adjusted
and learning how to adapt

to your new normal,
retirement." [giggles]

"I'm gifting you this bottle
of Scotch,

"I know it's your favorite

"It's there for you in case
you need any liquid courage.

your tales of back home

"and the wonderful family
and friends you left behind.

who constantly travels,

"I know how hard being away

many bucket list adventures.

with words quite like you,

"I love how you're fearless
in who you are,

"and how you express yourself,

of Leroy Brownisms.

"I've traveled the world,
and have heard many languages,

a super smart person

"to come up with their own.

of your scariest,

keep them within eyesight.
