Growing up so
religious and homophobic,

the first time
I went to a Pride

when I was like
17 with my friends,

I felt such a strong
sense of community

and that really drew me in
because I felt like

I couldn't be myself
around my family.

So I just think it's really
important to know that

your blood family
isn't always your family.

Sometimes you can have
a chosen family

and that can just
be friends that you

just feel comfortable
being yourself around.
