think Hudson could use

a major revitalization.

that would take away
from our town's charm.

message stays consistent.

care of him and this place.

As you can see, I'm not doing
a very good job of either.

getting some help.

There's only so much you can get

out of the healthcare system

and the rodeo didn't
come with a pension.

My old friend Butch,
he's really struggling.

The long term effects
from too many concussions.

- I'm sorry to hear that.

- And the worst part of
it is he doesn't have

enough money to pay for
the extra healthcare

and support that he needs.

- That doesn't seem fair.

Butch and these other legends,

they're the ones who
gave the best years

of their lives to make the
rodeo what it is today.

They used to get thrown
from a bronc or a bull

there was a pickup man to
pull 'em up off the ground.

And now, when they need it
most, who have they got?

No one, they're
completely on their own

and something's gotta change.

[wood thudding]

It doesn't make for the most
comfortable retirement years.

I don't know, an
accounting firm can have

a pension plan for
their bean counters,

but there's absolutely
nothing in place

for people that ride broncs
and bulls for a living.

you would've rather

we can do something about it.

some kind of foundation.

of our sport in

Especially when we could all
band together to help 'em out.

So what I'd like to
propose is that each of you

donate a small percentage of
your rodeo company's profits

into a retirement fund.

kid on the block here,

but I think I speak for
everyone when I say.

Well, when I say that
we all understand

these people need our help.

But, personally, I
haven't even had a chance

to prove my books so I don't
know what I can contribute.

take some time, give

I could sit around and wait.

Looks like I'm freed up from
hitting the campaign trail.

the final stretch

before the big election?

- It appears not.

My only opponent
dropped out of the race.

I'm gonna announce myself as

the reigns of my late husband,
Hank McMurtry's company,

a group of people here

that have something to
say, and in my opinion,

they've earned the
right to be heard.

These are some of the greatest
rodeo legends of all time

right here right in front of us.

- Oh, hey, everybody.

My name is Jack Bartlett.

Now, like Tim said,
these people here

are bonafide rodeo legends.

They're some of the
most fierce competitors

that have ever
graced these grounds.

But it's a tough sport
and years of throwing

their heart and
soul into the rodeo,

well, it's taken its toll.

And we feel, as a community,
that we should do something

to help these people
ease their burden.

It's a bit hypocritical
to be celebrating

our heritage when
we haven't been able

to take care of the people who
are most responsible for it.

So, tell me, what are
we gonna do about it?

Tim?

- Okay.

So, here's what I'm proposing.

I'm going to donate all of
the profits from today's rodeo

toward a fund for
retired rodeo competitors

long after they've hung
up their hats and spurs.

But there's a group of
rodeo owners here today

that I would expect
the same from.

Are you willing to donate a
percentage of your profits?

as the woman who pours

your coffee down at Maggie's,

but I am more than
just a business owner,

celebration of Hudson

and of everything that
generations of people

have worked so hard to build.

And I wanna protect that.

Which is why I've
made a decision.

you've made and all the
buckles you've ever worn,

couldn't be more proud.

- I'm still mad at ya.

[Jack chuckles]

Well, it wasn't that
long ago that I asked

- Really, you wanna

and I was always off
