I jumped out of the West but oh my god

the planes gonna crash this thing came

right across north to south of

incidentally I was a private pilot so I

have some familiarity with there it

glided over my house and there was I saw

what I thought to be a kind of a

boomerang shape oh my god that's a

wingspan I've never seen anything like

that they were reported by at least one

commercial airline pilot

it was you fungus product it passed

right in front of us just about right

above eyes length

no I don't hear anything what the hell

is that

I came out second after Monica and I

remember looking at it was coming over

the mountain and was like almost is why

it is one of the humps in Amy's very low

it's coming across the sky and as it's

moving it's blocking and unblocking the

stars there is actually a shape it was

more like a boomerang than a like a

straight V and then the lights were

spaced pretty evenly it was actually

five lights that were a V one in front

two and two on each side and it was

perfect it was a perfect triangle if you

can imagine something the size a

Camelback Mountain floating down

Scottsdale Road you have some idea of

the intensity of this thing the object

we saw if we opened up a newspaper you

could not block out the object that we

saw people say Mike know you saw a b-2

bomber my response was we could land all

40 of our b-2 bombers on the wing of

that craft you know is it's it's one of

the biggest things I've ever seen

that uh that moved like that I mean it

was just enormous it happened last night

and eyewitnesses who saw it say it's

like nothing they've ever seen before I

don't know if it was big as an aircraft

carrier it might have been because I've

never seen your craft carrier fly it

barely missed that mountain yeah came

floating over the mountain so had you

not looked up you wouldn't know no my

daughter was 8:30 at night my daughter

was coming over here and she ran in and

said mom you have got to see this so we

are there was such an uproar about what

people described seeing that we also did

a story about it back in 1997 the first

report of a strange flying object came

at about 8:20 that night from a former

police officer in hauled in Arizona over

the next 40 minutes people gave similar

reports of an object along a 200-mile

route south to Phoenix and Tucson it was

a gunmetal black it wasn't shiny it

wasn't invisible it was more of a dull

bluish black color and we both just

stayed there and looked at it for a

couple minutes and it was completely

silent when you look down the street on

a hot day in Phoenix above the streets

like it's really wavy

and you see everything kind of distorted

I asked what it looked like up inside

the middle of the craft it was just

gliding and then it stopped and then it

like the sides retracted a little and

then it was gone

so acceleration to deceleration it was

no noise the whole time and not a sound

explanations have been tossed about that

they were flares there were planes

flying in formation but market robbing

we check with the FAA today we checked

with Sky Harbor we checked with Luke Air

Force Base and there's been no official

explanation of those strange bright

flights lectures

I'm gonna order a you know investigation

of this through DPS we're gonna make all

the necessary inquiries and we're gonna

get to the bottom of we're gonna find

out if it was a UFO

I'm patty Kirkpatrick remember those

mysterious lights in the sky well the

governor says there are new leads in the

case

good evening Arizona Governor is holding

a news conference on the lights in the

sky over Phoenix in March let's listen

in and now I'll ask officer Stein and

his colleagues to escort the accused

into the room so that we may all look

upon the guilty party and don't get him

too close to me please this just goes to

show that you guys are entirely too

serious I think what really irritated me

was the joke the governor pulled with

the Martian you know I just didn't have

time for that kind of stuff

he was just dismissing everything that

these people had seen and said just like

we're all Looney Tunes and I know what I

saw and that's not what you're telling

me what I saw I didn't see flares I

didn't see a 10 or Warthog

so how about we work together and try to

figure out what this thing is

so when you hear someone says they saw

UFO you what you think they're crazy yes

I think they're crazy

what puzzles me is why people laugh at

the subject of UFOs but when the

laughter stops everyone secretly wants

to know are they real see that now

keep going I don't know if I want to

know if UFOs are real because then that

raises a lot of other issues who are

they

why are they here are they gonna hurt me

do they have chocolate when I told my

father I wanted to make a documentary

about UFOs he said it was crazy

in fact my whole family did and 95% of

the time this stuff is crazy

but the remaining 5% that is what keeps

me going this man in the saucer can you

describe him

what year was the second year I'm James

Fox and I've been curious about UFOs for

a long time it is very curious do that

evidently the Air Force is curious too

in pursuit of this obligation and in

1952 they admitted it we have received

and analyzed between one and two

thousand reports there have been a

certain percentage of this volume of

reports that have been made by credible

observers of relatively incredible

things all blocked up know what was

under there with the help of

investigative reporter Lesley came I

decided to put together some of the best

witnesses from around the world for this

film almost 10 years after the

termination of Project Blue Book in the

cases and photographs you are about to

see represent some of the best evidence

that UFOs are real

some unknown origin what were they after

because the name the light that came

down at our feet

surely someone in the know would be

take place in Washington on Monday

former high-level government employees

military officials and pilots from all

over the world will come together

they'll discuss their own UFO sightings

and encounters and they'll do it at the

National Press Club in the nation's

capital space this group has gathered

together to call on the United States

government to take an active role in

investigating cases involving

unidentified flying objects James Fox ue

they on Monday - absolutely yes

- establish the fact that the phenomenon

is real and it's and it's happening

worldwide five are we now saying that

the United States is taking this

seriously or is this just an event I

think the United States is taking it

seriously and they they need to it's

it's long overdue and you're gonna

moderate it right I'm gonna moderate it

I'm five Symington in 1997 during my

second term as governor of Arizona

I saw something that defied logic and

challenged my reality before this event

I met with the governor at his home to

find out why he ridiculed the sighting

we were in the middle of investigating

it and just couldn't get any answers

paralleling that activity was this

almost hysterical environment that was

building the hysteria the governor told

me what was actually going on behind the

scenes and we called Luke Air Force Base

and we called the FAA and I called

various touch base with people I called

my general at the at the National Guard

nobody had an explanation people who

said well we just don't know what it is

Phoenix Councilwoman Frances Barwood

was one of the only elected

representatives willing to push for an

investigation I would have thought that

they would have wanted to do an

investigation but apparently they would

rather ignore it

I don't know why at bar woods request

Senator John McCain looked into the

matter of personal

we asked the Air Force to look into it

and this was the first response that

we've got and we're going to go back and

ask them to look at it again

Senator McCain wrote letters to both the

National Archives and the Air Force both

claimed not to have jurisdiction over

such matters I was kind of surprised at

at that response but there are people

who said they saw things and whenever

that happens they deserve at least an

investigation seems to me

the air force explanation eventually

provided to Senator McCain was military

flares dropped from a-10 warthogs

between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m.

oh my god I hit paydirt finally

according to some analysts these lights

captured on film were flares well that

is a totally different configuration

we've ever seen whatever but this does

not account for the large boomerang

shaped object seen by the governor in

hundreds possibly thousands of others

across the state beginning several hours

earlier I mean it clearly had a shape to

it and in a big shape and it was a

constant shake and you you can't control

flares that way there's just no way they

were flares

why can't he tell us what's it gonna

hurt I would like I would like for them

to come out and say that's top secret

and we're not going to tell you what it

was

the v-formation I was only able to find

one video taken of the earlier sightings

light over a period of somewhere but I

was however given this video taken by an

army colonel a few years earlier it

reminds me of what Arizona witnesses

described seen no sound and it's not

planes flying in formation

I don't hear anything no I don't hear

anything and the hell is that you see

the stars you see through it right

there's a Jessie it now and it's that's

not planes flying in formation behind it

either it's another another triangle

what would you say to the people about

it I'd say I saw an unidentified flying

object of massive proportions float over

the City of Phoenix and Scottsdale and I

don't have that damnedest clue what it

was I saw it was over my house I saw it

for five minutes it wasn't something

that was a flash that I only saw for a

second could it have been I know when I

saw and I get very upset and I was

wondering why they won't find out what

it was

just a quick question when you were

giving your press conference back in

Phoenix were there any external

pressures on you to defuse a situation

in the way you did or did anyone

instruct you not to comment on the truth

of what was happening in Phoenix well

the only external pressure and it was

significant was the fact that there was

just this massive public reaction to the

lights over Phoenix I mean we've just

being inundated by the press and people

coming into my office saying this thing

is just reaching heights of hysteria and

concern I'd never seen that before I

mean I've been in office for quite a

while and I'd never seen kind of that

reaction and so three of us sort of sat

down at the end and decided to to try to

lighten the mood a little bit well I'd

like now to set the record straight I

never meant to ridicule anyone my office

did make enquiries as to the origin of

the craft but to this day they remain

unanswered I still don't know what it

was as a pilot and a former Air Force

officer I can definitively say that this

craft did not resemble any man-made

object that I'd ever seen

well I now know that I'm not alone in

witnessing something extraordinary

that's the bottom line

there are many high ranking military

aviation and government officials many

of whom are here today and share my

concerns some of them have truly

exceptional stories to tell

hundreds of people saw a majestic

triangular craft with a span of

approximately hundred and twenty feet

powerful beaming spotlights moving very

slowly without making any significant

noise but in several cases accelerating

to very high speeds

physical traces on the ground from the

craft were confirmed by the local policy

the official conclusion of Japan in 1979

was that about 15 percent of the cases

remained unidentified after careful

started back in World War two when

pilots reported being followed by

water according to this memo titled

opinion concerning flying discs by

general Nathan twining the phenomenon

reported is something real and not

visionary or fictitious it just come up

like that and tipped and just on they

really wet it didn't have no smoke no

motor just to win

I've never seen anything go so fast in

my life as that thing went yeah

the sightings over Washington in July

1952 were just part of one of the

biggest and most impressive UFO waves in

all UFO history this incident was

witnessed by the public military pilots

in air traffic control pilots went aloft

they saw luminous glowing object out in

front of them right where the radar

indicated it to be so you had ground

radar airborne radar and pilots visual

sightings look magazine reported that

radar operators at Washington National

Airport tracked UFOs it speeds up to

7,000 miles per hour I am here to

discuss the so-called flying saucer

Major General Sanford who was a director

of information of the air force called a

press conference which was characterized

at the time as being the largest press

conference since World War two

the airport's interest in this problem

then due to our feeling of an obligation

to identify

and analyze to the best of our ability

anything in the air that may have the

possibility of threat or menace to the

United States there have been a certain

percentage of this volume of reports

that have been made by credible

observers of relatively incredible

things this group of observations that

we now are attempting to resolve the

Joint Chiefs of Staff talk to you or

concern you a Bakke and unknown again I

discussed it with every conference that

we had with the military and they never

had been and never were able to make me

one-year study out of a number of

conclusions this one caught my eye no

power plant known or projected on earth

could account for the performance of

these devices

started telling lies dr. J Allen Hynek

investigated UFOs for the United States

Air Force for over 22 years

the most well-known of these

investigations was Project Blue Book

where media is not in this 1979

interview dr. Hynek revealed why the Air

Force changed its public position they

were strongly guided by the CIA because

the CIA was not concerned so much with

UFOs as they were with UFO reports they

were afraid actually that if another

nation water perpetrated another Pearl

Harbor that if their agents spawned a

bunch of false flying saucer stories

that might clog the military worse has

actually happened in 1952 so they

devised the so-called Robertson man

which I was an associate member at the

time a very prestigious panel I was one

of the lower ranking ones they had Nobel

Prize winners and whatnot on it but

anyway they handed down the dictum which

then became sort of the unwritten law of

the Air Force don't rock the boat play

it down clean it don't get the public

excited what is your answer the people

who are sure there are spaceships and

they serve at you and the Air Force are

in cahoots well first of all this

business about being in cahoots suggest

simply a downright false but I know

having been in Blue Book for nearly 20

years that whenever an interesting case

came up the very last thing in the world

they would do is to notify the media and

when the media themselves found out

something therefore did its best to play

it out it's called it a balloon called

it in the star called booms meteors

satellites aircraft seen the Sun

glinting off of them and the birds are

critics continually charged that the

earth of air force is withholding

information from the general public on

this subject

this is absolutely untrue

there's nothing in the records which

would indicate that we have been visited

by any advanced civilization there's

nothing to have there's nothing to hide

at all

but if reports of flying saucers are

nothing new when it got to the top of

the trees it stopped looking around yet

residents of the area saw it the police

saw it sergeant Newell Snyder of the

Sheriff's Office remembered it was

enough to draw what do you think it was

off they called a flying saucer that's

what I did the Air Force that is chief

scientific consultant on UFOs professor

J Allen Hynek to check the Michigan

Fighting's a little bit of swamp right

forth the citizens of Michigan didn't

buy it and asked then congressman Gerald

Ford to investigate Georgia what about

that many reliable good citizens felt

were sufficient to justify some action

by our government and not the kind of

flippant answer that was given by the

Air Force where they pass it off as a

stopgap this is not an attack on the air

force spokesman or the project spokesman

they are simply following orders to

explain away all UFO sightings as

quickly as possible when they become

public and deny that you

really a good scientists were being

misled even as the public was being

mislead to this day or scientists have

no inkling of the serious hardcore

elements because now it's all treated

like a tabloid subject are you sorry now

that you did tell people what you saw

yes I am I'm sorry because it not that

it's not the truth but it's just the

idea the reaction of the people they

think you're a nut tell you the truth

that's just what they figure you are and

I'm not going to take my I don't want

nobody down in here I just leave me

alone and if it's the thing lands like

the motor that I pump I'd never say a

word ten years ago in 1969 they closed

Blue Book and I thought for a while that

maybe well maybe this was finally going

to be over but since that time we've had

about 25,000 more UFO reports many of

the hundreds of people reporting the

sightings believe they've all seen the

same object it's called the Hudson

Valley UFO

you something funny I don't know what

the hell it is it moved in a very

straight line very slowly

there was absolutely no noise there was

not a sound and it moved smoothly very

smoothly it looked like it was floating

it was silent it was hovering

I mean airplanes can hover do you

believe those first I know sir how do

you know that you're not being used how

do you know that you know the full story

this questions for the governor and mr.

Callahan this really is a government

that doesn't mind scaring us

we still have orange alerts and red

alerts and they scare us all the time it

keeps people at work so I'm wondering

why you think and you just state that

that's the reason and that's it is that

really the motivation for a government

that doesn't mind scaring us if these

phenomena are as technologically

advanced as they appear to be then one

could say that we're completely

vulnerable as a civilization and that's

to some people that might be horrifying

and I'm just speculating on that that

feeling of vulnerability and so a lot of

people like to say well you know we're

not vulnerable that's just not true that

didn't happen and they shot it out of

their minds

Internet

and they asked people do you believe in

UFOs what were the results seventy-five

or eighty percent eighty eighty three

percent yes have a chance you open guys

are all here we were talking about

someone said to be here for six thirty

six thirty is the right time you had a

crater like melanomas here yes I came

back no and with your night before our

big event at the National Press Club we

all met for dinner said one of the

people I spoke to his meteorological

office my dream was coming true

here I was surrounded by credible people

who are about to share incredible

stories so these are reliable witnesses

yeah

there were generals pilots physicists

and FAA official an Air Force colonel

I'd never been in a room full of so many

people of this caliber comfortably

talking about the existence of UFOs we

were enjoying our time together it was

remarkable how everyone had something

extraordinary in common there was a

mutual understanding and I got some

answers to some big questions why did

the French government do what they did

by releasing the UFO FILES just recently

it took 15 years to convince to do

something despite the public position of

the US government

somebody whether it was on an official

or a sort of back channel basis but

somebody most definitely was looking

into the UFO phenomenon if you're not

capable to identify whatever flies

around

there is something wrong could you say

something very quickly one of the things

I always remember you talking about was

when you'd be at a cocktail party and

the subject would come up with UFOs and

you sat with one on the ground for 45

minutes and you'd bite your tongue what

was that like it was difficult but you

know in some ways there was some kind of

satisfaction involved there and they're

talking about stuff that what if and I

knew my name is James Penniston United

States Air Force retired in 1980 I was

assigned to the largest Tactical Fighter

Wing in the Air Force at the time is I

was stationed at RAF Woodbridge England

shortly after midnight on the 26th of

December 1980

Staff Sergeant Stefan's briefed me that

some lights were seen in Rendlesham

forest just outside the back gate he

informed me that whatever he seen didn't

crash he told me it landed I then

ordered Airmen Caban Zak a1c burles

to respond with me off site that night

we were on security one which was in

charge of mobile security for the

Woodbridge base and we responded to

jimbros his sighting of something out on

the edge of the flight line well the

controller on the radio broadcast over

the air that go down and check out a

possible UFO there was a craft of some

sort that was

sitting just inside the tree line we

arrived to defected crash site it

quickly became apparent that we were not

dealing with a plane crash or for that

matter anything else we've ever

responded to Burroughs would say to Jim

Penniston do you see that you see do you

see what's out there at that the edge of

the trees was just bright lights you

know and the only way you can describe

it is it I guess you'd call it an object

at the point in time three of us direct

observation of the craft I then asked

the airman commands act to relate the

radio transmissions back to our control

center Burroughs and I proceeded towards

the craft the only noise we heard out in

the woods was the noise of the animals

just as burles and I entered the

treeline the shape of the craft was

defined the closer we got the more the

white light dissipated but what appeared

was a trying of craft when we approached

it it was oh I say measured probably

about nine feet long maybe six feet high

little higher mate maybe six and a half

feet

the lighting emanated from the fabric of

the craft and it would actually move

around and it would move you'd have

different locations where maybe a little

blue lighting was going into

maybe lower red and then there must have

been some type of lighting underneath of

it because it's silhouetted the aircraft

itself I went around and started doing a

360 walk around the area taking

recording my observations I was looking

underneath the craft like that I had

taken quite detailed notes on that type

of aircraft still unknown no apparent

landing gear no sound but appears to be

pulsating somehow yeah it was pretty

nerve-wracking I mean when you're there

something there right in front of you

don't know what it is

I would go ahead and feel the craft

which was warm there was static

electricity in the air very warm to

touch identifying markings are on left

front side as I came around to the one

side of the craft there was edging on

the face meet just above the center part

of the craft itself of course this is

done all freehand as I was walking

around the craft but these symbols ran

from left to right across and then

underneath the those that line of

symbols was this which is triangular and

some type of circle here is some type of

circle here in a larger circle here and

of course all this was filled in with

the like the etching part of it I was

curious about the symbols that Jim

Penniston copied in his logbook I had

these symbols enlarged and then showed

him to cryptologist mathematician George

deglet I wanted to know if he had any

ideas as to what they might mean the

first symbol looks to me like a vessel

with a steering or a float in some sort

of medium the second symbol looks like a

glyph associated with a mathematical

idea known as the fiber nachi series

which is found everywhere in nature and

this is what we have here

the root of a fiber now g-series 1 2 & 3

taken as a house rather clever glyph

all-in-one mr. dag was stressed that

this was only speculation but I found

his interpretations quite interesting

especially since I've always heard that

the only universal language would be

mathematics from that game so this is

the last clip and how did you decipher

this they could represent an apse in an

orbit a perigee or an Apogee and if they

are APS's Apogee and perigee as it means

that the orbiter is doing a highly

processive orbit like that so if you are

going to survey a planet and this is an

orbiter which would be a very sensible

arrangement if you were using the

vehicle as a surveying vehicle because

you get a maximum look at the planning I

don't think they were trying to send us

a metaphysical measures about the beauty

of life on the partner what the reason

for the universe or anything like that

or their own existence I think it's just

more utilitarian marking so they knew

what craft they were dealing with I knew

that that craft could not have been made

by man

and then they started moving back in

between the trees with absolutely no

sound no air disturbance at all takeoff

unknown Street and I write impossible I

mean it was threatening to Mia but it

wasn't the type that you were going to

shoot on it and also the fact was that

what would happen if I would have shot

at him

boy what good would it have done that

night over 80 Air Force personnel all

trained observers assigned to the 81st

security police squadron witnessed the

takeoff the information acquired during

that investigation was reported through

my military channels the team and

witnesses were told to treat the

investigation as top-secret thank

as the deputy base commander Colonel

Charles halt was in charge of the

investigation when he too became a

witness in late December 1980 I was

called upon to investigate a very

strange event an event that was

distracting our security police from

their primary duties I believe that he

would have debunked the whole situation

and I think he got in the middle of a

situation he could explain either two

nights later at the family Christmas

party I was interrupted by the on-duty

police commander he told of strange

events and said it was back since my

boss had to present Awards I was tasked

to go out and investigate I fully

expected to find an explanation during

this entire event I was fortunate to

have with me and my small pocket

recorder of the little engine what

you're about to hear are excerpts from

the original recording made that night

after some time strange my throat right

a hair show I saw y'all attention too

weird

now we've got an object out raised

directly saw trees on the rise it lifts

and once another movement or two and

away from us

oh here he comes from the side he's

coming toward us now one approach to

very high speed and sent on a strange

beam right at our feet another object

sent down beams alight into the weapons

storage area the whole time we had

difficulty communicating with the base

as all three radio frequencies we were

using kept breaking up I have no idea

what we saw that night but I do know

with great certainty it was under

intelligent control five star Admiral

Lord Hill Norton had been pressuring

Parliament to provide clear answers on

this case I wanted to know if he

believed a UFO actually landed at a u.s.

airbase in England that is one

explanation that it actually happened as

Colonel Holt reported the other

explanation is that it didn't and in

that case one is bound to assume that

Colonel Holt and all his men were

hallucinating the British Ministry of

Defense's position is that nothing of

any defence interest took place this

position was strongly criticized by the

Admiral that the kernel of a an American

Air Force Base in Suffolk and his Merry

Men are hallucinating when there are

nuclear armed aircraft on the base must

be of Defence interest if indeed what he

says took place did take place and why

on earth should he make it up then

surely the entry of a vehicle from outer

space certainly not man-made to a

defence base in this country also cannot

fail to be of Defence interest outside

the Parliament building

I met with Nick Pope he investigated

UFOs officially for the British

government I reopened the case

and conducted a sort of cold case review

of the original investigation and I was

shocked to find a series of basic errors

had been committed exactly the same

sorts of errors that often fatally

Pope shared with me some startling

evidence from the Ministry of Defense's

files this is one of the most important

documents to emerged from the mo DS case

files and it's from an assistant

director in di 52 this is their

assessment of the radiation readings

that Colonel halt and his team took at

the landing site what we have here is a

plaster cast of one of the three

indentations the object the gym and the

other two magenta line approached it's

approximately eight to ten inches across

and about three inches deep at its

maximum point this is a cast number - he

made an impression of all three of the

indentations and they were all identical

now here's the key bit these levels seem

significantly higher than the average

background and in fact I double-check

this with some other government

scientists it's about eight times normal

so this is absolute proof positive from

the mo deez own documentation that

something extraordinary happened

nor deny the incident he did however

tell us how he felt about a leaked memo

written by Deputy base commander Colonel

and I didn't see it now did he have a

motivation and doing that did he think

that if he brought it in to me I would

have stepped on it I certainly would

have looked at it very carefully because

it had some things in there that I don't

think we were prepared to defend once

that cat was out of the bag you know I

couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together

again and it lived its own life I just

find this very interesting that

the US air force or government German

says that they don't investigate UFOs

since the termination of Blue Book and

yet you're convinced that there was an

investigation that took place so who

gave the orders to do that it certainly

didn't come from anybody that was

normally on the base other than in the

OSI I didn't tell my wife I didn't tell

my daughter I had a top secret clearance

and when I was told to shut up I shut up

vent that never happened for an event

that never happened

FAA official John Callahan certainly has

a lot of evidence they brought the voice

tapes he kept audio recordings between

the cockpit and the tower as the

incident unfolded he has 30 minutes of

taped radar that confirms the UFO a

chart that documents all the objects in

the 747s flight path and the official

FAA report event that never happened

according to Callahan all of this was

presented to the CIA in a private

meeting when the pilot first reported

the UFO he described it as a huge ball

with lights running around that he said

it was about four times bigger than the

747 he was riding and remember the 747

has an elevator and he's looking out the

window when he see something that's four

times the size of his aircraft what

you're about to see and here are

excerpts from the actual radar and

cockpit conversations as the incident

unfolded

and showed him the video he set up a

briefing with the President Reagan's

scientific staff told me my function was

to hand this operation off to those

we are confiscating all this data and

they did they took everything that was

in the room in those days when you

printed out something from the computer

one of our greatest success stories was

getting general Jafari from Iran to DC

it took three months of negotiations to

get his visa Jafari was one of two

Iranian fighter pilots ordered to

intercept a UFO hovering over Tehran

Iran in 1976 the pilot in the first jet

last instrumentation and communication

when he got too close to the brilliant

object so he headed back about ten

minutes later they scrambled a second

jet which I was piloting general Jafari

scrambled his f4 phantom jet to get a

closer look

he gave us this Iranian Air Force

reenactment film featuring the original

witnesses and planes even though Jafar

EES f-4 fighter jet was travelling at

the speed of sound it was nowhere near

fast enough imagine when I was looking

here at about 70 miles out and he jumps

all of a sudden ten degrees to my right

in this angle ten degrees this part

which it was traveling becomes about

twenty six point seven miles per moment

I don't say per second maybe maybe less

than a second nobody showed Jafari was

flying towards the UFO when a smaller

object separated from it and headed

right at him his only instinct was to

shoot at it but that turned out to be a

bad idea

all the instrument reflecting the

goggles in the radio so I was really

frightened so I decided to turn away and

I said if it comes closer than about

four minds I will jump out

so having maneuvered away from the

object Jaffar his control panel returned

to normal and he regained contact with

the tower I just sort of mysterious

why should what this panel is calling

for essentially it's some sort of

government investigation about why

shouldn't there be further investigation

well there have been investigation it

was we'll hang on a second let me just

state this clearly one of the things why

are we gonna help you keep interrupting

me sir please one of the things I want

to mention very quickly is that the

official position for the Air Force is

that they terminated Project Blue Book

in 1969 as there have been no official

investigation since then however we

found evidence to suggest the contrary

on a number of cases in Tehran the

general said the Americans were making

discreet inquiries about the case that

excuse me there as well as Bentwaters

England the colonel said that the OSI

came in investigated that so you believe

there in areas you government

investigation going on you just wanted

what they're making this they're making

discreet inquiries unofficially yes well

UFOs are basically a modern space-age

mythology it's a it's a conspiracy

wrapped and superstition and myth where

does this superstition and myth come

from and how could it be so pervasive

within a few months of the original

saucer report practically everyone in

America was conscious of flying saucers

rest of the account oh I didn't I it was

unidentified flying object okay it's

kidding and then I would say where was

it what did it look like what were you

doing how much had you had what it saw

it it was probably some sort of some

other satellite or a fast-moving

airplane that they saw I wouldn't

believe them

I mean I know there's been sightings

random I'm not well documented well Jay

Leno once asked if these UFOs s cursory

skills are so highly evolved how come it

is that they only address people named

sighting was such that people identify a

large triangular platform with very

accelerating to very high speeds and

the American government to the Belgian

Air Force regarding a identified flying

nothing formed I would have liked to see

a formal request but some people came to

my office and asked about this

phenomenon and also what we thought

about it and asked to have a copy of a

video which was taken by one of the

aircraft which try to intercept one of

these objects and I said yes you can

have a copy providing this a formal

request

and we never received a formal request

as Captain I've been invited here at due

to my sighting last April of multiple as

yet unidentified objects over the

Channel Islands region of the English

Channel

sightings of a large unidentified flying

object off the coast of Guernsey the

mysterious shapes were spotted earlier

in the week and to describe as a long

motionless object that measured up to a

mile wide before that message you say

first-hand testimony where the sighting

took place here

we met with captain ray Bowyer and two

of his passengers we're traveling back

innatron under I had noticed ray looking

out through the windscreen with his

binoculars which is quite unusual I saw

ray turn around and talked to someone

behind him while we were flying

no it wasn't whirring from the

standpoint of flying but it was unusual

and he was gesturing to something down

below or nearing the objects a second

identical shape appeared beyond the

first both objects were of a flattened

disc shape with a dark area to the right

they were brilliant yellow with light

emanating from with him and I submitted

them to be up to possibly a mile across

I pointed it out to John he had to lean

across me to be able to see it it was it

was like that this is a big object in

the sky very very big object and I

didn't want to be too close to it so

there's at that time anyway where we had

to descend the land and with both

objects still visible and a lot of the

passengers in the back of the aircraft

we descended through the two thousand

foot Hazen layer and lost sight of it

so ray why didn't you bring this to the

attention of your passengers I mean

normally when a private seat something a

bit of interest he says if you look at

to your left you'll see New York a

little bit away far away from you well

it was some I did want to alarm anybody

at that point there again as we got

closer to these objects there was no

hiding it they were just there

I take a note of some of the differences

between the British and the US reporting

system

it appears that attitudes on opposite

sides of the Atlantic are very different

when it comes to the required reporting

and recording of this type of event I

would have been shocked if I was told

that the CAA in UK would obstruct an

investigation or the CAA told me that

what I had seen was something entirely

different but it seems that pilots in

America are used to this sort of thing

here I returned home from Guernsey to

find a DVD sent to me from Salida

Colorado listen carefully to the

six-year-old girl who points out a UFO

to her dad I'm not sure what the sounds

are but the object reminds me of what

rain is past news described seen it

moved over that part of sky there

probably moved five hundred it probably

moved 100 miles in a matter of a second

or two

Homme de Burgh I am a retired Air Force

captain during Air France flight 35 what

we do from these to London on 28 January

1994 I observed with my crew a UFO in

broad daylight near Paris and it looked

like this with a bank angle of 45

degrees it seemed to be a huge flying

disc it stabilized and stopped moving

but it was about 1,000 feet wide the

most incredible expected is that it

became transparent and disappeared in

about 10 to 20 seconds

my co-pilot chef Jared and I quickly

realized that what we were seeing did

not resemble anything known to us and we

reported our sighting to Russ traffic

control there is a crew of three percent

plus by the correlation at the same time

not the same place at the same time and

that means that we have had something

real over price one day huge thing

good evening last week several people in

Stephenville Texas a small rural town of

about 15,000 70 miles southwest of Fort

Worth witnessed what many are calling a

UFO James Fox I know you've been probing

this for a long time we've never got an

answer to this why do you think the Air

Force doesn't want this out well I mean

what are they going to say we don't know

what's flying around in our airspace

with it why can't why can't they say

that I think that possibly could I wish

they would and if the Air Force is

listening tonight why don't you tell us

the truth

well I came in on Tuesday night a week

and a half ago started down driveway and

I looked back here to the southwest just

past the windmill so I'd say maybe five

miles away there was a real bright light

came on it is almost as bright as like a

welding arc one of the guys that was at

my house that night called up and said

he wasn't coming back to my house until

we got armed guards and I said why is

that he said well there was a UFO flew

over your house Tuesday night I said I

saw it I was so distracted by what I saw

that you could have had you could had a

train go in front of me and I would

probably hurt it because I was so

focused on these lights but I do not

remember hearing any noise at all to it

how would you describe the acceleration

probably the the speed of light and I

tried keeping that with my binoculars I

couldn't this case so far qualifies for

that 5% lack of sound the speed of the

object and apparently the military's

interest we're two Jets coming from that

direction this way and I did hear the

Jets you know we're used to seeing

military aircraft in our skies here in

this area we're used to seeing you know

the helicopters and the fighter jets and

the c-130s and I mean we know what those

look like by the way so when it comes to

military aircraft I am a trained

observer so well that's opposed whatever

that baits are why don't we take another

filmmaker in in town doing research on

the the UFOs and interviews we'll take a

in Dublin the whole town showed up to

discuss this sighting

my name is Steve Hudgens I'm senior

field investigator for MUFON

we're down here to investigate this

extraordinary event it was going so fast

and didn't make any noise

that light seemed to be streaming and

breaking around it then ten minutes

later it came back by and that's when it

had the two military jets chasing it

I've been a witness to this and give you

all the information I can you don't want

to come forward and say anything because

they'll say oh they're an idiot because

I've thought that before until I saw

this

I guarantee the jet whoever was flying

the jets they had a visual on it it was

incredible

I listened to many witnesses and then

went to the editors of the local paper

for this story first broke lines I mean

these are all headlines Angela Joyner

saw me on CNN the night before and

assumed I had all the answers

major Carl Lewis at Carswell I've talked

to him a lot and he said something of

this size would leave a sonic footprint

much like what we know as a tornado path

it would just demolish things on the

ground why why don't we see that I have

no idea Angela and local radio station

Rose we had a drink at the local bar

where he agreed to meet with me the

following day aircraft in the area they

wouldn't normally be flying they told me

that Ricky had seen a lot more than

lights in the sky

that we called that don't you know I

used to thank the people that saw this

and came on camera and said this house

stuff I thought man these guys need some

help you know but it happened to me and

I can't change that I had a hard time

dealing with it mother she looked at all

the way that direction you didn't see me

looking up Ricky said he could not see

the edge of the craft in any direction

you couldn't see the edge of it couldn't

say they're there but I didn't know this

it's bigger

sound no one was hovering nothing when

it moved from left to right and nothing

when it took off and holding his rifle

and sometimes actually looking through

his scope Ricky stood under the craft

for about three minutes

oh if you've been in that situation but

no I've been very few times in my life

but I had to slow my mind down to

actually think about what to do with the

information that I was receiving for the

first time and that's what I did I

studied it you know I seen no nuts bolts

rivets seams no welds none of this it

looked like a piece of sheet metal you

know it wasn't shiny it was a dull

don't know what you call it matte finish

me this is what I had a hard time with

was if something wants to leave in my

mind it should give it up and go like an

airplane would this did not do that this

day completely flapped and it went at a

45 degree angle or what and it took off

is such a high rate of speed that no one

described it as if I would have blinked

I would have thought it just disappear

on January 21st 2008 Robert Powell and

Glen Schultz received radar data from

the FAA this image was created directly

from that data each black dot and there

were over a hundred and forty represent

radar confirmation of an unknown object

whose flight path is seen heading

towards Crawford ranch

I just want to know what it is you know

why why was it here what was it

is it ours you know I kind of think

although the military initially denied

being in the area the official

explanation from the Air Force is now a

flight of f-16s after each witness I

meet I find it increasingly difficult to

accept the military's response I've

actually stepped back and tried to be

the big picture I would like to find out

what it is then if people believe me

okay if they don't that's okay too

t-minus 15 seconds and counting

mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper was the

last American astronaut to go up in

space alone he orbited the planet 22

times while stationed at Edwards Air

Force Base

in the early 1950s Cooper was part of an

event that has never been explained I

was having some the cameraman found the

installation of a precision landing

facility we were putting him out into

the dry lake and the saucer flew right

over him and put down three little gear

and landing out on the dry lake bed

and they went out pick up their cameras

and moved on out partying filming and he

left it off put the gear back in the

well climbed out a very high rate of

speed disappearing the time he got back

with the developed film I was on the

higher and higher and higher level

officer coffees gonna be anyway the

colonel telling me do you know when the

film arrived at my desk to put it in the

carrier pouch there would be occurred

there at my office by that time already

and they'd arranged for him to fly in

our base airplane back to Washington

with these films and did not run prints

etc etcetera etcetera do you watch the

tool we didn't have a chance to run it I

had a chance to hold it up to the wind

and look at it there's certainly good

found did you would keep in touch with

anybody buddy to discuss how would I

keep in touch with anybody about it

there's no way within the military or

within the government of keeping track

or something that is classified

unless you're directly involved in it

and I was not this meeting was a turning

point for my father Gordon Cooper was an

icon of his generation and my father was

amazed by his story at that point in

time there are no doubt in my mind that

this vehicle was made at some other

place than here on earth yeah well Buck

Rogers and Flash Gordon coming her after

the film was sent to Washington it was

never seen or heard of again

Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell was

the sixth man to walk on the moon

he has met with people in military and

government positions from several

countries who have privately shared with

him information about UFOs seem to be

well documented events that represent

flying craft that do not match anything

we have in an Earthbound arsenal

I felt that dr. Mitchell would know the

reasons for secrecy why I was told I

can't answer that question that I think

it's a long past time to open this up to

the public but the best answer is

probably because they don't know what to

do about it in here

my father and I caught up with President

Carter at a book signing in San

Francisco whatever you are following

what happened to the UFO issue I don't

really know what happened to it I saw

one but I don't know what just

disappeared

answers if nobody does has proof of

the question of secrecy has puzzled me

for years I asked the panelists in DC to

offer possible explanations some of the

questions that man on the street have

investigate because they have no

name is jean-claude rim and I am an

astronomer working for the French

Sante Nacional de la chef scientific

from 1963 to 1998 I contributed to the

French committee report a year military

study on UFOs and national security

released in 1999 camara translates as

committee for in-depth studies it was in

essence a high-level think-tank

committee included such members as

four-star general Bernard NOLA who was

the former commander of the french

tactical air force and military

counselor to the prime minister

as well as Andre LeBeau former president

of the National Center for Space Studies

and attorney-at-law

Michele Algar director of the kinetic

group the kinetic group published its

findings in an historical 90 page report

titled UFOs and defense

what should we prepare for the formation

of the kinetic group was initiated by

French Air Force general Dennis Letty

kinetic concluded that about 5% of the

cases studied were inexplicable and that

the best explanation was what the

authors called

the extra-terrestrial hypothesis

with investigative journalist Lesley

Kane I flew to France to meet general

Leni we met the general at his home on

the outskirts of Paris we went over some

of the more puzzling encounters that led

the group to their conclusions and he

saw the disc every pilot sightings

confirmed by radar very quickly I would

have assigned in cases involving soil

and plant analysis from landing sites

I had looked into one of these cases

myself farmer Renato Nicolai from

TransAm Provence reported that a

disc-shaped object landed in his garden

in the late afternoon the farmer said de

landing site showed high levels of

impressive photographic cases not one of

these was featured on the cover of the

committee report so his mapping is it

not happening the ground a pee bag on

the ground and developing a mapping

claim from the government of Costa Rica

was flying at 10,000 feet

it had a high-resolution camera running

automatically under the fuselage taking

a picture every 17 seconds on one of the

frames this object was captured after

careful analysis by several scientists

including Richard Haines and Jacques

Vallee it was determined that the object

captured on film was a real

three-dimensional airborne object so do

you think if it was announced that

people would panic if the government's

announced well there are the

unidentified objects are real ah

I cannot say yes but I cannot say no I

asked the general to explain the

committee reports extra-terrestrial

hypothesis for us we think that the best

explanation is that object came from

outside

we don't say they come from outside but

the best explanation

is the impetus

in 2007 an investigative branch of CNES

the French equivalent of NASA made

sixteen hundred sightings spanning five

decades available to the public

I asked CNES for an interview I want to

know who allowed the release of these

British government began the process of

releasing its entire archive of UFO

FILES from 1991 through to 1994 I was

desk officer responsible for these

investigations these cases included

incidents where reliable witnesses such

as police officers and pilots reported

structured craft performing speeds and

maneuvers significantly in excess of

anything that they'd seen military jet

aircraft perform in July of 2009 the

Ministry of Defence released this

document it's a briefing regarding the

mass sighting over England in 1993 in

summary it states there would seem to be

some evidence on this occasion that an

unidentified object or objects of

to the skeptics who say there's no

evidence I would say this the Ministry

of Defense in the United Kingdom has

received 10,000 UFO reports since 1950

not just lights in the sky but
