Joshua French spent eight years
in Congolese prisons.

In 2016, Abedi Kasongo's widow,
Bibiche Olendjeke,

was paid ubuntu as compensation
from the family of Joshua French.

That year, the Norwegian state paid 45 million
dollars to forest conservation programs

in Congo through the Central
African Forest Initiative.

Joshua French's mother moved
to the Congo and proved vital

in her son's case,
both personally and politically.

Diplomatic efforts finally succeeded and
Joshua French was released on 17 May 2017.

Tjostolv Moland is buried
in his home town of Vegårdshei.
