The Japanese Colonial Period started on August 29, 1910 by some Korean traitors signing the Japan–Korea Annexation Treaty.

Until Korea got back its freedom on August 15, 1945,
Korean had to suffer from the Japanese ruling.

Japan deprived Korea of their many lands and resources to supply the war, using Korean laborers and soldiers.

Young men were forced to join the Japanese army and young women were dragged to the war zones to be sex slaves.

To provide comfort women to the Japanese military, many Korean women were kidnapped or lured with fake job offers.

These victims were estimated to be 200,000 but it must be taken into account that many were slaughtered by the Japanese

to conceal the existence of the comfort women after Japan lost the war and some died due to the severe tortures by the Japanese soldiers,

it's hard to know how many women had been victimized exactly. but still multiple survivors

from China, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, even from some of Europe testified that comfort women actually existed.

According to the survivors, they got raped up to thirty times or (even more) per a day, but didn't get any proper feeding.

When they got caught while trying fleeing, they were rolled on the sharp thick needle bed while being naked and tortured to the death.

Other women were forced to watch the whole things and if they turned their heads around, they got punished as well.

Once the escapees were dead, the rest of women had to boil them and forced to drink the soup.

These are not the most horrible things Japan did to the comfort women. There are endless testimonies as to how cruel they were.

Even with abundant testimonies from survivors and proven documents from many countries, Japan is still denying the truth about the comfort women.

Currently 38 Korean survivors are alive and still fighting to get a sincere apology from the Japanese government.

What they wants it not a big-fat check for compensation because there is nothing which can pay enough for their sufferings.

What they need is the proper acknowledgement from the Japanese Government about the wrongdoings Japan committed. as well as their heartfelt apology.

During the Japanese Colonial Period, many independence fighters tried hard to appeal our strong will for independence to the world.

The Provisional Government of republic Korea was established in Shanghai on April 14, 1919. And it became the center of independent movement.

So Japan forced Korean to change their names into Japanese ones and forbid to speak or write in Korean to obliterate the Korean spirit.

Many had to risk their lives to keep the valuable Korean books in secret for passing them down to their descendants.
