who are comfortable,

let's make our way down
to the pool and we'll get in.

I have never wanted anyone
to see me in my bathing suit,

so I have always avoided
swimming situations.

I sort of put off the whole idea
of swimming for both of us

for quite some time.

I did have a negative experience
with water at one time.

It was a long time ago,
when I was much younger.

I am so afraid of the water,
I can't even begin to tell you.

I am petrified.

Anyway, I just built a big pool and
it's time to learn how to swim.

My name is Carl Oakley,
and, um, I'm a patrolman

over at the Old Saybrook
Police Department.

I'm sorry. I think I better go,

because there is no way
I'm getting in that water.
