Have I told you the story
of Prophet Ibrahim and the birds?

Prophet Ibrahim said,
"O Lord!"

"Show me how You give life
to the dead."

And God asked him,
"Do you not believe, then?"

Prophet Ibrahim then said,
"When I see it with my own eyes..."

"I will be convinced."

God ordered him to have four birds...

and familiariase them with himself.

Hazrat Pir Mevlana says
those four birds...

were the goose, the peacock,
the rooster, and the crow.

Prophet Ibrahim,
as he was commanded...

familiarised the birds with himself.

And then, God ordered him.

"Cut them into pieces and place them
on the top of each the mountains."

As narrated by Ibn-i Ishak...

for it to be even more astonishing...

Prophet Ibrahim mixed the pieces
of the birds with one another.

And he placed the pieces
on the peaks of four separate mountains.

He took the heads
of the birds in his hands...

and got to a place
where the mountains were visible.

"By God's will, come!"
he ordered those scattered birds.

Those pieces, blood, feathers,
they all flew towards their own torso.

At last, they fit together
into their previous forms.

Only their heads were missing.

Prophet Ibrahim called to them again.

They ran to him...

and put their heads back on.

Now...

what is the moral of the story?

There's no story without a moral.
If there's one, it's just empty words.

Did Hazrat Ibrahim
not believe it...

that he asked God to show it?

What is said in the verse?

Even though Ibrahim had faith,
he still wanted to see it.

He just wanted
to put his heart at rest.

So the verse tells us to contemplate.

To search, to know, and to come up
with the best answer. To fight.

Can a non-believer fight?

Ibrahim, though he had faith,
said, "O Lord, show me."

The story tells us to search and think.

So, what about these birds?

Greed blinds man.

If a person is blind,
God has mercy on him.

got up from the back of the room.

He got up and said,
"O Messenger of God..."

"in the Hudaybiyyah incident
you wanted to ride your camel."

"And I extended my hand to you."

"You got on your camel
and wanted to whip your camel."

"That very moment the whip touched my back."

"Now, did you not violate my right?"

Messenger of God said,
"Yes, Ukkase. I violated it"

After this, our Omar Effendi
could not hold himself back anymore...

so he jumped up.

Do you know what our Prophet did?

"Do not get involved, Omar."

"This is my problem," he said.

And then Hazrat Abu Bakr
got up and said, "O Ukkase..."

"Whatever you want, I will give you..."

"let us deal here."

The prophet said, "O Abu Bakr,
this is my problem, don't get involved."

The companions were barely
able to keep themselves seated.

Our Prophet turned
to Hazrat Ali and said...

"that whip is with my daughter
Fatma. Go and fetch it."

When Hazrat Ali
told her about the situation...

Mother Fatma was rather upset.

She said, "do you not know he is ill?

Isn't there anyone who can
replace him amongst you?"

Thus she sent Hazrat Hasan
and Hazrat Huseyin, who were just children.

The apples of our Prophet's eye...

Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat
Huseyin entered the mosque.

"O Ukkase, do not hit
our grandfather but hit us," they said.

"Do with us as it pleases you."

The companions were full of emotions.

Our Prophet said, "I cannot
let this happen. This is my problem."

And he refused them.

The whip was brought but the situation
was even tenser.

Our Prophet commanded
the whip to be handed to Ukkase.

This time Ukkase said,
"O Messenger of God, there's one more thing."

"When you hit me with that whip,
my back was bare."

"What about it?" he asked.

As soon as he said the words,
the companions got up.

Our Prophet soothed them and said...

"Ukkase is right."

Our Prophet walked down from
the pulpit and opened up his shirt.

Our Prophet was there
with his shirt open...

waiting for Hazrat
Ukkase to whip him.

Hazrat Ukkase
raised the whip into the air...

and kissed the prophethood seal
between our master's shoulder blades.

Tearfully, "you don't owe me anything.
You have my blessings, Messenger of God!

I can sacrifice my family
for you," he said.

This is how our prophet,
our guide was, dervishes.

There is justice for everyone.

Saying, "I am a prophet" is no excuse.

If so, take a stick
and take everything you want.

Strike, so justice
finds its rightful place.

Strike, so there will be justice.

If justice is broken somewhere...

there is no order,
there is no principle there.
