is not allowed to go to daycare.

You're not allowed
into a government building.

You are not allowed to go to a concert
or library if you haven't been vaccinated.

Isn't this just de facto
a vaccination obligation?

You also see more and more that these
larger bodies will influence everything.

The press, all your communication
is pushed into a certain direction...

and eventually you have a kind of
'1984'-zombies with no way out.

As we saw with the Soviet Union...

it takes a very long time before a nation
is then able to move forward again.

secure from the pests

The unification of thoughts is more powerful

Let's first look at the impact
COVID-19 probably has.

We don't know yet
the final outcome of this pandemic.

There is a lot of uncertainty...

but we know already
that it will have a changing effect.

Changing economies, societies.

It can't just be compared...

with the economic crisis
that we had to get through ten years ago.

Its effects will be much more similar
to that of a world war.

And actually all countries in the world
are affected.

When can we go back
to our former normal situation?

When will we have some perspective again?

We're all a bit fed up with this. Right?

We are incredibly fed up.

I just want to be able to go
to the pub again, to the theatre...

meet up with friends on a large scale.

How great will it be to have
a vaccine soon and see it work well...

but let's be honest: all vaccines
are still in the testing phase.

That means we don't have any vaccine
that is sure to work...

and we don't know for sure of any vaccine
when it will actually be available.

The biggest challenge was the timeline.

Science was driving everything.

Of course there are risks.
Where there is mystery...

there's the possibility
that there's an unforeseen problem.

I don't think there were any guarantees
that this vaccine was going to work.

That's when we started to feel
the pressure of billions of people...

millions of businesses
and hundreds of governments.

Suddenly we became
their biggest hope for a solution.

Everybody started working on vaccines.

Everyone wanted to help.
That was very special.

Everybody thought: How can I use
my knowledge to fight this virus?

You have to go through
a number of steps to make a vaccine.

First there's basic research and discovery.

From that you're going to develop
your initial vaccine candidate.

Then you have what we call
Phase I clinical trials.

Those are the initial trials
where in small numbers of people...

you test your antigens.

Then you go on to Phase II clinical trials.
You can put in large numbers of people...

to really define exactly
what it is you want to test.

Phase III is different.

Now you try to prove, not only to yourself,
but to the world that something works.

Pfizer and Moderna
make use of the messenger RNA.

Much has already been said about that...

and they actually carry
a little recipe with them, as it were...

of what that virus looks like.

They get a little description
in the form of some kind of code.

Imagine a kind of beaded necklace
with different colored beads.

The virus takes that inside
and your body then sees that recipe...

and it makes antibodies against it.

It develops activities to oppose this.
Then comes the immune response.

That's why a vaccination
can make you sick.

You often feel a bit feverish.
That's actually good news...

because it goes to show
that the vaccine is working.

Your immune system goes to work.

Because your cells have that recipe...

they can recognize
the outer form of the virus.

So when the virus enters your body,
the immune system says:

Hey, hello, you don't belong here.
Attack, get rid of it, get out.

Other vaccines work slightly differently.

For example, there is another method
that has been used a lot...

where a bit of protein is placed in the
vaccine that is very similar to that virus.

So not a recipe, but a piece
which is very similar to the virus itself.

If that enters your body,
it will start making antibodies.

The beauty of your immune system is
that it has a memory...

so it will remember that from now on.

I had Alex Gorsky, the CEO of Johnson
and Johnson, on the phone almost weekly.

It was a unique situation where you have
companies that would ordinarily be competing

suddenly collaborating,
sharing information.

There was this remarkable feeling
of responsibility.

I first sent my colleagues from Pfizer
a video message.

I want to take a moment

to share my thoughts regarding
the global health challenge...

posed by the novel coronavirus.

I told them that I know that there is a lot
of uncertainty in the minds of everyone...

but I told them:

As with any challenge we face...

our North Star remains
our belief in science.

Normally, when you develop a vaccine,
it takes a very long time.

First you do trial I, then trial II
and then trial III, consecutively...

because you want to be sure
that everything went well.

Then you move on to the next step

and the pandemic was such a big threat...

that companies said: We are doing

second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

the risk assessment is very different.

in the absence of those exact numbers.

but the risk is not zero,
because it is never zero.

During this period
the student is a bit distracted.

A report is then generated that shows

and even details each student's
concentration level at ten minute intervals.

You both write about
how this pandemic...

will be as defining as World War II.

What are the key steps
to take right now?

We have to do two things at once:
We have to bring this pandemic to an end...

primarily by getting the vaccine out
in large numbers to the entire world...

and we have to make sure we're ready
because there will be another pandemic.

There are so many lessons about...

If there had been no corona, we would
have been in an another crisis now.

Because of corona we have
a health crisis and lockdowns...

but then we'd be in a financial crisis.

Then we would have had to deal with
the opposite of what we're seeing now.

We'd be facing dropping property prices,
higher unemployment.

If we had not had corona,
that would have been the situation.

Corona actually saved us, if you like.

Temporarily, from an economic problem
that was about to happen.

Temporary. After corona?

Yes, I may be considered a gloomy person...
Maybe I am a little bit.

I do not know. I always try
to be a realist, not a pessimist.

There will come a time
when all the measures...

like keeping people working printing
more money, will come to an end.

What happens then?

I know several macro-economists
who have all kinds of ideas about it...

but it's not a happy story.

Well, then we'll be in a crisis.

And what you're hearing now
is that people...

and 'people' is the ECB,
and the national heads of government...

try to push that moment
as far as ahead as possible.

And some macroeconomists
have a very concrete notion...

that pushing the problem forward
will work until 2023.

You get unemployment,
property prices plummet, and so on.

That's what you're going to get. And again,
the people I've talked to say 2024.

But, they say, there is one but:

It may happen earlier,
if something crazy happens.

If there's another Lehman Brothers
incident where a bank collapses.

It could be an Italian bank,
they are the most likely to fail.

Confidence in the euro disappears
and people panic...

and suddenly start
withdrawing money from ATMs.

Then you will get the same effect
as in 2007/2008.

It could be earlier than 2024.

But if nothing strange happens, if there's
no crazy event like a failing bank...

then people will try to push the problem of
the crisis forward for as long as possible.

The European Commission has recently
issued 20 billion euros in debt securities.

We are sitting on an economic time bomb,
I think. That's how I see it.

And corona was actually a good story...

bluntly stated, to push the problem that
was coming at us a little further ahead.

Economically. I'm not saying there's
no virus, I am not a virus denier.

I think that what has happened
is horrible.

But from an economic point of view,
is has been a fantastic model...

to take all the existing problems
that kept getting bigger and bigger...

and sweep them under the rug.

Because of corona there are now
much bigger movements...

in macroeconomics,
in financial systems.

So their consequences
will also be much bigger.

And what you see here in one graph...

is the growth of the money supply,
the white line...

and the fiscal deficit, that's the budget
deficit in America, the forecast.

It is unbelievable.
And those lines are drifting apart.

And again, if you compare that
with what happened in 2008/2009...

you also had this effect,
but it's becoming so extreme now...

And with that we arrive at the reset.

Some really weird things
need to happen in this system.

We need very unorthodox adjustments.
This is untenable.

A number of things
are intensifying due to corona.

Some developments
in society become enlarged.

And that is also the case here, because
of corona the European Central Bank...

instead of 750 billion
1.6 trillion, 1700 billion euros...

were created from thin air...

to use for support measures
for all kinds of distressed countries.

and reducing the value of one euro.

at very abnormal times.

that people haven't seen coming yet.

I'm not saying we'll have
hyperinflation next year...

but if the central banks
continue like this...

we can expect this system
to get out of control within ten years.

But they know that too, and intervene,
and that's what we call the Big Reset.

I came to protest against the Israeli
government that doesn't give us any money.

We didn't work during the first months
of corona and didn't any money.

I had to close my business
and fired all my workers.

Now we're all at home
without any money.

We will end up
with many more unemployed.

Particularly people in the gray economy
are in danger of losing their jobs.

We will definitely see a lot of anger.

We already see that, but it will probably
increase by the end of the year.

Because this crisis will with us
until we have really found a remedy.

When I see the tragedies
in some emerging countries...

like South Africa
and some countries in East Asia...

The remedies have to be discussed

of a hunger pandemic.

before the coronavirus

I was saying that in 2020 we'd be facing
the worst humanitarian crisis since WWII.

The World Food Program
analysis shows also...

that due to the coronavirus
an additional 130 million people...

could be pushed to the brink of starvation
by the end of 2020.

That's a total of 265 million people.

I'm scared and I don't see any solutions.
