Truth or Dare

Episode 30

Happy Ending

Why don't you grant Bao a surname?

It'll be my utter honor

if you could grant me one.

Impudence.

Think you can marry my daughter?

Guards.

Arrest this

double-dyed bandit.

Father, what are you doing?

What a silly girl you are.

You can't just forfeit your future

and implicate our whole family because of them.

Them?

Do you want to arrest Pelletie, too?

Why haven't they come back yet?

My Lord.

I failed to bring Lady Yingyao

and Master Bao back in time,

which got us troubles.

That's not your fault.

Are you worrying that

the Ninth Lord won't let it go at that?

I'm wondering

it's so fishy that the Ninth Lord called us back

all of a sudden.

Fishy?

Though the Salter Cartel was destroyed,

all the clues

point to the Imperial Court.

All of us have been involved

in this matter.

My Lord, do you mean that

His Majesty summoned us

because of the case of the Salter Cartel?

Rou found that

a sum of money flowed into the Prosperous Store.

No matter who is behind this,

we have to beat to the punch.

I get it.

Go to the Prosperous Store now

and catch Dong Daman.

Rest assured, My Lord.

I'll find out the truth.

What are you doing?

They're here as expected.

Shiqing.

Shiqing, they want to take me away. Shiqing.

Lord Shiqing.

Don't be hard on us.

It's the Ninth Lord's order.

Take both of us away

if you have to.

Are you insane, Shiqing?

Fine. As you wish.

Take him away, too.

Yes.

What are you doing?

Shiqing.

Shiqing, you are caught too?

Are you silly?

Why you insisted on being imprisoned with me?

Don't worry. I'm here.

Now I just worry about my Yaoyao.

She's alone outside.

Don't know how her father will push her.

Yaoyao.

Yaoyao.

Why are you also here?

How callous is your father!

I asked to come myself.

I believe it's safer for us

to be together.

Now that you've made up your mind,

then let's face it together.

Okay.

Dong Daman, Boss of Prosperous Store

It's you, brother Situ. Dong Daman, Boss of Prosperous Store

It's you, brother Situ.

I thought it was someone evil.

Any instruction from our boss?

You don't

want them to know it,

so you knocked them out?

You must know what happened in Qing, right?

Boss feels uneasy.

He wants you to shut up the Prosperous Store for the moment.

Shut it up?

Then, where should I go?

Here is the boss' order.

You've to leave the capital now

and go as far as you can.

I see.

I see.

It's the best choice for now.

I'll leave right now.

I have to watch you go

so I can report to the boss.

You...

Brother Man.

Farewell.

Dong Daman.

Dong Daman.

Damn it! One step late.

Emperor

The Sixth Lord

How is it going?

My Lord.

Dong Daman is dead.

I didn't solve the problem in Qing well.

Please punish me.

You are too young to have a vision,

so you don't know that you should solve a problem

as soon as you discover it.

Yes. I know it now.

I watched you grow up.

After all, your father Li Tianlong

ran errands for me in the early years.

It's a pity that Mei Shiqing is now in the Ninth Lord's Mansion.

But even so,

I'm willing to kill him for you.

You don't need to do it yourself.

They were called back this time

because I praised Mei Shiqing before His Majesty

for him wiping out the Salter Cartel and Dragon Stockade

after he tied the knot with Lady Yingyao.

His Majesty was pleased,

and called them back.

But as I was reported,

the real Lu Yingyao has returned.

I don't think Mei Shiqing would be so stupid

to bring the fake one to see His Majesty.

As long as there're rumours about the fake princess.

All I need to do is to make His Majesty know it.

I don't understand.

Please make it clear.

If His Majesty knows that

the Meis did nothing to save Lady Yingyao out of the stockade

and secretly found an impostor,

he would definitely be furious.

At that time, he will let me

take them to the Hall of Supreme Harmony to be questioned.

Then I will say that

Mei Shiqing

believes he can claim credit for himself

as he did several good deeds in Qing.

But actually he's been already resentful of

his father's demotion and salary deduction.

And he dared to

attack my bodyguards.

At last, I had no other choice but to kill him.

You are so wise, My Lord.

But...

Will His Majesty buy it

since there's not factual basis?

My bodyguards all see it.

Besides,

they are all from the the Ninth Lord's Mansion.

Or

you can stab me by then.

I dare not do that, My Lord.

Don't be such a coward.

If I get stabbed,

people will be convinced that Mei Shiqing attacks me.

I understand.

I'm at your command.

My Lord, General Mei is here.

Mei Changyun.

Do you know that you've committed a heinous crime?

I know I am guilty.

I'm ready to be punished.

How could you make such a thing happen?

My Lord, I've never seen Lady Yingyao before.

I didn't know it until I received

your secret letter.

Forget it.

The priority now

is to deal with this problem well.

My Lord, what do you plan to do?

Let Yingyao and Shiqing get married as planned,

and just overlook this matter.

My Lord.

I'm afraid those kids won't agree.

Are you senile?

They'll meet with His Majesty the day after tomorrow.

If they defy His Majesty's order,

neither of us can

afford the consequence!

My Lord, I dare not lie to His Majesty,

but...

What?

You don't want them to get married?

I know Shiqing well.

Now he is in deep love with Pelletie.

If we separate them at this time,

they would rather die.

You brush away the safety of your whole family

just for a busker?

At this point,

I actually have an idea.

Go ahead.

I can give my name to Bao,

so he will be one of the Mei's Palace.

Then we'll let him marry Lady Yingyao,

so we can settle this matter.

How could you say that?

You wanna make a bandit your heir?

- And let my daughter marry him? - My Lord.

It's the only solution!

Please get it right.

Look,

don't be against me.

Do you know what a grave crime you've committed?

Deceiving His Majesty is a serious crime.

I'm willing to take all the responsibility.

Ease your anger, father.

I didn't mean to make such a big mistake.

I just married into the stockade by accident.

The bandit who kidnapped you

and that imposter should take the blame.

Tricking us is no big deal,

but deceiving His Majesty is a grave crime!

They should be executed right now.

Father, if you kill Bao,

I won't live anymore.

Pelletie and I live and die together.

How can you be so block-headed as General Mei?

You're going to court tomorrow, you know?!

Father, why you have to push us in this way?

Do you really want to see

Shiqing and I regret for the rest of our lives?

You are my father!

Or

you just regard me

as a tool all along?

I see.

Just tell me

how you can let go of Bao and Pelletie?

As long as you two get married,

it's still possible to keep them alive.

Okay.

I agree.

Me, too.

All right, you can leave now.

My Lord.

You really want to keep Bao and Pelletie alive?

At this point,

what else can I do?

My Lord, letting them go

may bring us troubles in the future.

You know, Yingyao

was taken into the Stockade by them.

If others know it,

how will they think of our Mansion?

Do you mean...

My Lord.

Yingyao and Shiqing will go to court tomorrow.

How about killing

those two people secretly?

Your Highness, the carriage is ready.

Please go to the palace with Lord Shiqing.

I have one thing to do.

I need to meet Pelletie and Bao now.

Your Highness, it's almost time.

I want to explain to them

the decision Shiqing and I made.

I'd tell them to consider the big picture.

I want them to know

there are things I have to do.

So they can give up.

Butler Liu, you watched me grow up.

I believe you will allow me to do this, right?

You are the daughter of the Ninth Lord

and you are so filial and sensible.

Of course I won't stop you.

You take Lady Yingyao to the cell.

Yes.

Bao.

- Yaoyao. - Shiqing.

I couldn't find you two this morning.

Finally you come back.

I am right here.

Yaoyao.

I miss you so much.

Wait, why do you come here?

Does your father agree

to let us go?

My father wants to hurt you when we

go to the palace.

We're here to save you.

After we take you out,

I'll place you in the small house left by my nanny.

Then let's discuss what to do next

after we're back.

Only you? Where's Lady Yingyao?

She's there.

Stop!

Mei Shqing. How dare you!

Here is the Ninth Lord's Mansion.

Don't act wildly here!

Your Highness, you forget your promise to your father?

Butler Liu.

I heard what you told my father.

Then please forgive me. Get them.

I'll take care of it. Leave now!

- Hurry up. - Yes.

Let's go.

General Mei. You are going too far.

Mei Changyun!

How dare you fight in my mansion?

Have you lost your mind?

My Lord, I have something important

to report to you.

This is the house I chose for my nanny.

Now she has gone back to her hometown,

so no one will discover you here.

Bao.

You wait here with Pelletie.

We have to go to the palace.

Yingyao.

Will you be safe if you go to court now?

After all, you just saved us out.

What if your father

reports it to His Majesty?

Right.

And what about General Mei?

Will he get into trouble?

Don't worry.

My father values his fame so much.

He won't let others know that

his daughter was once kidnapped by bandits.

My father has something more important to do.

Something more important?

What's that?

Get the traitor Mei Shiqing!

Yes.

Situ Lin?

You're still alive?

Of course.

As you can see, well enough.

Sixth Lord, why are you here?

And you are with Situ Lin?

What's wrong?

Aren't you surprised

when you see me?

So

you wanna see us being surprised?

You're smart.

So smart.

What a pity.

What a pity!

Thank you for praising me.

You do have a great plan, My Lord.

You sent my father to Yong Province

and made us come to the capital.

This is the house of Lady Yingyao's nanny,

but you came here so quickly.

You must have been watching over us

since we arrived here.

You know so well about my plan.

Perhaps I know more than you imagined.

So will you bring me more surprises?

You're decisive.

You knew I'd go to see Dong Daman,

so you killed him ahead of us.

After all, it's my capital.

So it's much easier for me to take actions.

Your capital?

All lands belong to the Emperor.

Aren't you afraid that others will hear your words?

You are going to die anyway.

It's no big deal to tell you these.

Sixth Lord, this is the Imperial Capital.

And I'm about to go to court

with Mei Shiqing.

If you dare hurt us,

His Majesty won't let you go.

Besides, he will find out

why you do this.

Lady Yingyao.

You think I don't know that

this girl

has pretended to be you, right?

You're wrong.

Mei Shiqing and I are going to get married,

and it's time to meet with His Majesty.

You are good.

Much better than my stupid ninth brother.

But I already reported your

so-called misunderstanding to His Majesty.

Hearing the Meis did nothing to save you out of the stockade

and had someone take your place,

His Majesty was furious

and ordered me to take you back.

It's a pity.

It's a pity that you can't go.

Mei Shiqing, can you

figure out the reason?

Because I was too arrogant

for those good deeds I did in Qing,

and I've been resentful

of my father's demotion.

His Majesty knew it

and sent people to arrest us,

evil thoughts came to my mind

and I attacked you, Sixth Lord.

So you have to kill me.

Right.

Right.

But you forgot one sentence.

This matter began with Lady Yingyao.

You lost your mind

and killed Yingyao who just escaped from the Stockade.

And then you defied death to fight with me.

This wound

is the evidence of your attack on me.

I've sent people to arrest your father.

Mei Shiqing.

You deceived His Majesty.

Today Sixth Lord will arrest you on behalf of His Majesty.

Situ Lin, you've done so many evil things.

It won't end well for you.

I gave you a chance before,

but you chose Mei Shiqing.

Since it is so,

I'll make you die together.

If anyone dares to hurt Lord Shiqing,

he must

knock me down first!

All right.

Then I'll kill you first.

Sixth Lord, I have something to say.

Say to Yama!

Let him say.

Maybe you don't know that

I can tell fortune by analyzing characters.

That's interesting.

Let me do that for you by analyzing the character "Wang"

to see whether you can get

what you want.

Okay.

Sixth Lord, please watch.

The three lines of the character Wang

represent the sky, earth and human respectively.

There's a straight line in the middle of this character.

If you go a little further, you can have your day

and great power.

If I am right,

you struggled salt

to collect money privately

for a huge plan in the future.

You don't just want to be a duke.

You actually want to be the Emperor.

What else do you know?

Don't worry, Sixth Lord.

I'm not yet done with it.

However...

What a shame,

the pronunciation of the character "Wang"(lord) is the same as that of "Wang"(death) in Chinese.

If you still won't give up,

I'm afraid the death is waiting for you.

What are you talking about?

Sixth Lord, the result

of the fortune I got is the worst.

Tell me.

How did you know all these?

Do you think everything will be fine

as long as you killed Dong Daman?

Dong Daman. Dong Daman.

Dong Daman.

Tell my wife and kids to leave the capital at once.

Ask my wife the things you want to know.

My wife...

Books and Records of the Sixth Lord's Mansion

Where is it?

Of course it's in the place where you don't want it to be.

His Majesty has got it now.

Mei Changyun, are your words all true?

My Lord, we have unimpeachable proof.

Sixth Lord is trying every means to

kill all those who know about it.

So that's why he incited me

to call Mei Shiqing and Yingyao back.

That's his trick.

My Lord, I'm afraid Sixth Lord

has already told His Majesty about the fake princess.

He won't let go of us.

My Lord, haven't you realized that

Sixth Lord wants to rebel?

How dare he do that!

Please make your decision now, My Lord.

Or a great disaster will happen.

At this point, we have to make a try.

Let's go to His Majesty at once.

Okay.

You are so calculating.

But it's not easy

to defeat me.

Kill him!

Sixth Lord, His Majesty has known everything

and ordered me to take you back.

My Lord.

Stop.

Shiqing.

Shiqing.

The rebellion is pacified.

His Majesty summoned the Ninth Lord

because of your affair,

and he came back in low spirit.

What did His Majesty say?

Pretending to be a princess is a grave crime.

All of the families will be involved.

Fortunately, you wiped out the Salter Cartel,

destroyed the bandits in the Dragon Stockade,

and collected the evidence of Sixth Lord's rebellion,

so His Majesty has decided

to let you go.

But...

What?

The matter of your wrong marriage

can't end like this.

Does His Majesty want Shiqing and Yingyao to get married?

Pelletie, hear me out, okay?

Fortunately, the Empress speak up for you.

So His Majesty

is willing to satisfy your wishes.

Pelletie is granted as a princess,

and betrothed to Mei Shiqing, the general of Qing.

Bao is granted as the Deputy General of Qing

and marries Lady Yingyao.

That's great.

You know,

at this time,

the Ninth Lord is sitting there reading the imperial edict,

totally surprised and confused.

After all, it's His Majesty's order.

Pelletie.

Qiaoyun.

All of you went through so much,

and now

you finally have your wishes fulfilled

and find your happiness.

First bow to Heaven and Earth.

Second bow to parents.

And the third for each other!

What's wrong?

I'm a little worried.

Don't make a mistake again.

My Lord.
