Truth or Dare

Episode 29

Lady Yingyao goes back to the capital

I must go out.

My Lady. My Lord.

We've got a big problem.

What's up?

The palace sent a letter

to call Lord Shiqing to the capital

to be rewarded for suppressing the bandits.

It also

calls the princess back to her home.

You'll set off right now.

What shall we do?

They're going to know it.

My Lord, what shall we do?

The butler who comes to pick the princess is Liu.

A henchman of Ninth Lord's.

We're done if he finds out it.

Qiaoyun, calm down.

I'm sure Master knows what to do.

Look,

you two go to

bring Master Bao and the princess back now.

Let Qiuhua distract Liu.

Let's wait for the princess.

Yes.

OK. Let's go to find the princess.

Come on.

What shall we do?

What if we can't find the princess?

What if the people of the Ninth Lord see me?

Chill.

You've got me.

When this matter is settled,

I'll let you marry me

as Pelletie publicly.

As Pelletie?

Really?

It's a responsibility I should take for you.

Qiaoyun.

I'm good at fighting on horseback.

Ride the horse with me.

Trust me,

I'll keep you safe.

OK.

Wake up. We're leaving.

Qiaoyun.

I'm good at fighting on horseback.

Ride the horse with me. Trust me,

I'll keep you safe.

Qiaoyun.

Come on.

What're you waiting for?

Let's go,

or it'll be too late.

Qiaoyun's so bright and brave.

She's so unique a girl.

Go.

I don't feel so well today.

I'm coughing.

Please forgive me, honey.

Not like her.

How so?

Well...

What shall I do?

How to describe it?

My Lady, are you alright?

I'm fine, dad.

Your cough shows you're not alright.

Send for our doctor.

Yes.

That won't be necessary.

Don't worry, dad.

It's just

her chronic disease.

She'll be fine after she takes the medicine.

My Lady.

The people of the Ninth Lord will be here tomorrow.

You should take care of yourself.

Shiqing, why didn't you keep her healthy?

I'm sorry, dad.

What's more,

show respect to those people.

Prepare more gifts for the Ninth Lord.

Do be courteous.

Trust me, dad.

Everything's well arranged.

My Lady.

You must take care of yourself.

If your dad sees you like this tomorrow,

he'll think we didn't treat you well.

Dad.

I understand.

All right.

Shiqing, take care of her.

Bye, dad.

He's left.

Well done.

Even my dad was deceived by you.

That's not enough.

I still have the people of the Ninth Lord to deceive.

Pelletie.

Butler Liu is hard to deal with.

You must be fully prepared.

Welcome, Liu.

How was the journey?

I can hold up

for the princess' sake.

Her Highness doesn't feel well today.

Please settle down

to have a good rest.

What?

Her Highness doesn't feel well?

Then I have to see her.

Greetings, My Lady, My Lord.

I wish you two have a long

and happy marriage.

Thank you for coming here, Liu.

Thank you for your concern, My Lady.

My Lady, this is?

She can't bear

the light and has been coughing.

Did you invite a doctor?

Did the doctor...

She doesn't feel well.

You must be tired from the trip.

Why don't you take a rest now?

Tell Qiuhua if you need something.

You're careless.

Our princess was pampered as a pearl

since her childhood.

Her dad agreed to marry her to you

because of General Mei's sincerity.

Now she doesn't feel well.

You stupid servant,

why didn't you tell us on time?

Excuse me.

Are you blaming my family

for failing to take care of the princess?

I dare not.

There're good doctors in the capital.

Why not send her there for treatment quickly?

She can't bear

the trip to the capital.

His Lordship chose

this auspicious day to see her daughter.

We can't delay.

Her Highness is a noble lady.

The day she goes home

will be an auspicious day.

I know you care about Her Highness.

But her illness matters,

it can't be delayed.

You're right.

I'm concerned about

her illness, too.

How about this?

Let's set out tomorrow.

You really care about Her Highness.

So be it.

No. Why did you agree with him?

That Liu

is suspicious.

He'd be more skeptical

if we refused him repeatedly.

We should agree with him first,

then figure out a way

on the trip to the capital.

Hope Qiaoyun

can bring Bao and the princess back soon.

I never thought

I could have such a free life.

I never thought

I could meet a girl I love so much

and could live a normal life with her.

Xi Province may not be

as prosperous as Qing and the capital,

but I think it's a good place.

Let's stay here

for a couple of days if you like.

Really?

So let's stay here a little longer

to appreciate its views and customs.

Honey.

I just feel sorry

for having not given you

a luxury life.

Don't think in that way.

Didn't I tell you before?

I can do anything

as long as I'm with you.

You hungry?

A bit.

- So... - Look.

I know a good restaurant here.

Really?

It's a noodle restaurant.

I used to come here to eat

and go back.

Let's go there.

- OK. - Go.

Honey, eat more later.

All right.

Look,

its wide noodles are fantastic.

Bao?

What a small world.

You made me so pathetic.

You won't have a happy life, either.

Give me two bowls of noodles.

All right. Take your seats.

They'll be ready soon.

Honey.

Their noodles are so tasty.

- Really? - I've eaten at here so many years.

I always came here just for the noodles.

I can't wait.

By the way,

there're so many good foods around.

Let's try them later.

OK.

Flowers.

Flowers.

It's raining.

Little sister.

Honey.

I want to buy the flowers.

You two will die today.

How much is it?

A coin for a bunch, choose what you want.

Here.

Go home earlier.

Flowers.

Flowers.

Here.

Thank you.

Eat it.

What's up?

I don't eat coriander.

Give it to me.

Try it.

Let me smell it.

So good.

Come on. Eat.

Eat.

My Lady.

I found you at last.

Why're you here？

We've got a big problem.

Go back Qing with me now.

Your family's going to bring you back.

I'm afraid Butler Liu

almost arrives at the Meis' Mansion.

Let's head back now.

All right.

Come on.

What?

I'll take the revenge against you

no matter where you go.

Just wait.

What's up?

It's rare to see you woke up so early.

I couldn't fall asleep.

Any news from Qiaoyun?

They left yesterday.

Even if they find them in Xi,

it'll take them some time to come back.

Are they in trouble?

What're you talking about?

Don't worry.

We'll get their news soon.

Take it easy.

Come on.

We'll be fine.

We're about to leave.

Where're Qiaoyun and the others?

Shall I pretend to be ill?

If I refuse to get on the sedan,

Liu could do nothing then.

The trip will take 2 days.

Enough time for her to replace you.

I'll write letters to Siheng

to tell them the time and our exact position.

What shall we do

if they can't find Yingyao?

Trust me.

I'll keep you safe.

My Lady, My Lord.

We're ready.

Shall we leave now?

OK.

OK.

Shiqing, take care of Yingyao on the way.

Give the Ninth Lord

my regards when you get there.

I understand, dad.

Take care.

Be careful.

Yingyao, let's go.

Careful.

Qiuhua.

Master.

Tell them,

we'll spend the night here.

OK.

It's still early.

We shall proceed.

We can arrive at Jiang Province by the night.

We're all tired now.

If you force us to move on,

we may not get to Jiang.

Plus there're bandits along the road.

Liu,

you really dare to do that?

Well...

We'll follow your arrangement.

All right.

Tell them to stay here.

OK.

Let me check it out first.

All right.

Don't worry.

Calm down.

Master left a letter for us.

They set out to the capital already.

We'll wait for you at the post of Jiang...

Let's go to the capital too

and meet them at the post of Jiang.

OK.

We shall go right now.

I'll take a look ahead.

Hide here carefully.

Relax. I'm here.

Who?

It's me.

Qiaoyun?

Come on in.

So, are they back?

Where's your lady?

They're back.

They're outside of the post now.

I just take a look first.

Then let's change

right now.

Easy.

There're many people outside.

It won't be late

to do it

in the lush forest ahead.

Qiaoyun, tell Her Highness and Bao

to wait for our signal.

OK.

Go ahead.

All right, easy.

Sit.

Have some tea.

I won't.

Then I will.

Halt.

Why did we stop?

My Lady, My Lord.

What happened?

She doesn't feel well.

She needs a break.

My Lord, the capital's right behind the mountain.

Will you take the responsibility if something

happens to her?

Yaoyao, let's detour to join them.

Let's go.

Where're they?

Something happened?

Just wait.

Master.

So?

Relax. I told them.

They'll be here in a moment.

No.

I have a bad feeling.

Go check them out.

OK.

Nan Xiang?

Don't call me that.

You!

You killed my dad,

destroyed the stockade

and made me homeless.

I followed you all the way

so I can kill you bitches myself.

Nan Xiang.

You don't have to do this.

It's all over. Wake up.

You want me to wake up?

I just loved you

from the very beginning.

What have I done?

I treated you so well.

Did any of the dead people of the stockade

do anything wrong to you?

This woman.

You colluded with

outsiders to kill them just for her.

Where's your conscience?

I always take you as my sister.

As for the stockade...

Stop.

Nothing can help you.

You'll die here today.

Yaoyao.

Please understand them.

Think about it,

those posts are so shabby.

Where're you going?

They've been away so long.

It's getting dark.

They're a couple.

It's normal to stay together

a little longer.

Nonsense.

Sir.

My Lady.

Sir.

We shall leave.

She still doesn't feel well.

She needs more time.

My Lord.

It's late. We have to go.

Let's go.

Liu.

Liu.

What shall we do now?

What shall we do?

Let's find another chance.

Let's go.

We're arrived.

What to do?

I told Siheng to check them out.

We should know

what happened exactly.

Are they alright?

I'm scared.

Calm down.

Let's play it by ear.

The Ninth Lord's Mansion

I'm honored to meet you, My Lord.

Greetings, dad.

Yao, why're you wearing a veil?

Take it off.

My Lord.

She's ill and can't see the light.

So she has to wear it.

Mei Shiqing. Listen up,

you should take care of her

since she married you.

You're right.

I'll do my best

to let her recover soon.

Liu, send for the imperial physician.

I've done it already, My Lord.

Yao, take it off.

I want to see you.

My Lord.

I...

Her illness is serious.

It won't be good for you.

Assassin!

Assassin! Guards!

My Lord, she's not the assassin.

Mei Shiqing, who's she? Where's my daughter?

My Lord, I can explain.

Stop.

Yingyao.

What happened?

Dad, it's a long story.

Dad.

That was what happened.

I've never heard of that.

Deceiving the Emperor is a felony.

Dad.

Mei Shiqing and Pelletie love each other.

Silence.

Don't mention it again.

So

what do you think of Bao?

Bao saved you,

so I'll give him a handsome reward.

Thank you for that.

I'd like to meet this Bao.

Bring him here.

I'll go to tell him now.

Send our men

to tell General Mei to come here immediately.

Yes, My Lord.

Why didn't they come back?

Will the Ninth Lord kill us all?

You're still in the mood to have tea?

Take it easy.

How could I take it easy?

We're about to die.

Did I tell you

that I could tell fortune?

What's that?

Before we came here,

I divined for them

and knew they'd be fine.

Really?

Believe it or not.

I may trust another one,

you...

Here.

Have some tea to relieve.

I can't drink.

My Lady.

You're back at last.

What did your father say?

He still hopes

I can change identity with Pelletie,

so our marriage can be kept

and we won't be charged for deceiving His Majesty.

I said your words weren't reliable.

Man proposes, God disposes.

Too many things are meant to happen.

Never thought Nan Xiang showed up

when I was going to meet you in the forest?

Were it not for her,

we wouldn't have been in this situation.

How did you get rid of her?

Nan Xiang.

Nan Xiang.

Nan Xiang.

Nan Xiang.

Nan Xiang.

Nan Xiang.

Nan Xiang's Tomb

Nan Xiang, I'm sorry.

I have to bury you here.

I've taken you

as my sister since we were kids.

I didn't expect we'd end up like this.

I know you still hate me

for betraying the stockade.

I'm thinking

maybe it'd end in another way

if I left there earlier.

I owe you

this slap.

Bao, don't do this.

It was because of me.

None of those would happen

if I married the right person.

Yaoyao, it wasn't your fault.

Don't blame yourself.

Nan Xiang.

I hope you can forget the pain

and get relieved soon.

The survivors are blessed.

I hope we can handle the issue.

What's your plan now?

My dad should've known

my relationship with Bao.

He wants to see Bao.

Will he agree to

let you be with Bao?

We're about to know the result.

You and Bao really love each other.

I'm sure he'll agree with it.

Then I'll bring Bao to see my dad.

What're you doing?

I just divined it.

I'm sure they'll make it.

I will buy it.

Let's go.

Honey.

I'm just a bandit.

Do I have the honor to meet the Ninth Lord?

Come on.

You want to avoid

your father-in-law forever?

Let's go.

Come on.

Dad, this's Bao.

Greetings, My Lord.

Bao? This's your name?

What's your surname?

My Lord.

I, Master Bao...

I'm an orphan,

so I don't have it.

In that case, dad.

Why don't you grant him a surname?

It'll be my utter honor

if you could grant me one.

Impudence.

Think you can marry my daughter?

Guards.

Arrest this

double-dyed bandit.

Dad. What're you doing?
