Episode 50

Wait!

What are you doing here?

General Wen said Demons had left.

We can go back home.

We’re here

to thank you for saving us.

This is a little something for you.

Please take it.

-Thanks. -Take it.

Where are your manners?

Thank you.

All of you

are my role models. When I grow up,

I’ll help those in need just like you.

Learn from me. Don’t be like him.

Go away.

I have faith in you.

Take care.

I’ll miss you.

So long,

everyone.

-Goodbye. -Take care.

-Travel safe. -Let’s go.

-Take care. -Be careful on the way.

Have a safe trip.

Take care of yourselves.

-Take care. -Have a safe trip.

-We’ll miss you. -Take care.

Demons Manor

Lord Shen, we’ve recruited

almost 100 skilled craftsmen.

They’ll start to

make weapons and armor tomorrow.

Good.

Ask them to speed up.

There’s no time to waste.

Yes, My Lord.

Also,

excavate everything

buried under the Forbidden Hall of the Qi School.

Yes.

And

lock up villagers of the Big Medicine Valley

and watch them closely.

Yes, My Lord.

I’m on it.

Fortress of the Forty-Eight

What’s up?

It’s boring

staying indoors.

You weren’t in your room,

so I came to look for you.

Do you feel any better?

Much better, actually.

I’m full of energy

right after we’re back.

It’s a nice day.

Why don’t we go to Chunhui Town?

I want to take you somewhere.

To do what?

You’ll find out.

Come.

Zhenghe Rice Shop

Where exactly are we going?

You’ll see.

Hold on.

I’m not interested

in your silly songs.

We aren’t here for them.

It’s not easy to write new ones.

Come on.

Mrs. Wang.

Greetings, Mr. Xie.

Have a seat.

Sit here.

Have some water.

-Mrs. Wang, -Here’s tea.

Is it done?

Yes.

Hold on.

I’ll go get it.

What is it?

You have good taste.

Girls will look gorgeous

in it.

Try it on.

If something is wrong,

I can fix it.

No need.

I know her size.

It can’t be wrong.

Are you messing with me again?

Be careful with the dress.

I almost forgot.

There are fabrics outside.

I’ll leave you alone.

Go put it on

and see if it takes your fancy.

Go ahead.

I’m here to catch up.

You traitor!

Had I stayed,

Wang Lin would’ve ruled the state long ago.

You’re so full of yourself!

Do I need to remind you

If I hadn’t,

I wouldn’t have found out

from the blacksmith, who made my Iron Hand,

about that amazing book,

Refinement of Iron.

Weapons made with techniques in it

are the sharpest and toughest.

And that book

Wen Yu,

Wen Yu,

a smart man should choose wisely.

Why did Ying Hecong write to me?

Yes, why you alone?

Why didn’t he write to me?

How would I know?

Why you?

It should be us.

To Zhou Fei

I guess it’s to all of us.

“Fei,

I meant to return to the Valley

to practice medicine,

but once I arrived,

it was hell.

Hundreds of houses were burned.

Villagers were all abducted by Demons.

When I found Xiaohu,

he was desperate...”

Shen Tianshu!

That animal!

In that case,

he must’ve taken away

the treasure as well.

Report!

News came in

that Shen Tianshu killed General Wen Yu

and took the Tally of Anping Army.

General Wen Yu?

That’s right.

Even he...

Right now,

Anping Army is leaderless.

Shen Tianshu and Yu Wenzhi are allies for long.

I’m afraid

he’s building his own power

to rule the state eventually.

If those two

launch attacks against each other,

countless civilians will suffer.

We must stop them.

That’s right.

It’s time to settle a score with them.

Ask Ying Hecong to come here.

I’m sure he’ll help us.

Sheng and I

will take care of Yu Wenzhi.

What about me?

You should...

Stay and watch the house.

That’s right.

We need someone we trust to hold the fort.

Sure.

I won’t let you down.

Time is running out.

Let’s go get ready.

I hope the Fortress is still intact

when we get back.

Alright.

Let’s go.

Officials have agreed

to meet with me at the inn in two days.

We’d better hurry up.

I’m sorry for the trouble, Chuchu.

No trouble at all

as long as you’re here with me.

Let’s go.

Sure.

-Hyah! -Hyah!

Weapons you made are sharp

but fragile.

Hey, you,

did you follow

Xie Yun’s method to the word?

We did, Lord Shen,

and the weapons

ended up like this.

I believe

he made a wrong demonstration

deliberately for us to copy.

So weapons we made aren’t durable.

Aren’t you an expert?

Couldn’t you tell what’s wrong?

Show me the new blade.

Yes.

Hold it.

If you

can’t be of use,

join your useless ancestors

in hell.

Lord Shen, Lord...

Lord Shen, Lord Shen,

I think

I know

what he did wrong.

I’m listening.

Crumbles

he added

weakened the blade,

so it broke

soon after being used.

Fix it now.

Yes. Yes.

How’s the investigation going?

Lord Lu,

I’ve checked with those

who went to Hanshui Town that day.

They said

Lord Shen seemed to

left Lord Hu behind

to cover the rest of them.

So...

So she got killed by Zhou Fei.

Shen Tianshu,

we were always obedient

and loyal,

but you

threw us away like trash.

Notes on Making Weapons

I did it!

I did it!

I succeeded!

Finally!

Yes! I nailed it!

What’s the good news?

Lord Lu,

I’ve cracked the Refinement of Iron.

The newly made blade

is sharp

and unbreakable.

It’s the king of blades!
