Oh my God!

4... 4,019.

What's up?

Come here, sister.

What's up?

Jiang Xiaoye shared my post.

Suddenly I got thousands of new followers.

All that fuss over it!

You scared me.

A famous gaming influencer noticed about me!

Of course I'm excited.

I can't wait to tell everyone.

Jiang Xiaoye is your boyfriend, right?

He just followed your Weibo.

Why are you so happy?

He's a famous gaming influencer!

Sister, what's that look on your face?

Why do I feel like that you treat

Jiang Xiaoye like an idol?

Fall in love with an idol.

A lot of girls are wishing for it.

It makes me flush.

Now you have no

feelings for Qin Bin?

He won't like me

so I give up.

If...

I mean what if

Qin Bin also likes you?

I'll beat him with my whip

He should pay for what he did.

I didn't expect that you would like it,

Sister, it's just my imagination.

It's not about my hobbies.

You're thinking too much.

No, I'm not. Go play with yourself.

Do you want to eat it?

No.

Zhou Xiaoshan,

why are you sleeping here?

Jianing.

Are you sick?

Go to the hospital.

Let's go.

What are you doing?

Only in my dream,

I can hug you like that.

Stop talking.

I'll take you to the hospital.

No.

Six years ago in the casino of A,

was that you?

Was that you?

Does it matter?

Of course.

Maybe the words you told me

were unintentional.

However, I took

courage from them.

When I was down,

they gave me courage to live.

So all these years,

I've been looking for him.

I wanted to thank him.

I finally found him.

Thank you, Zhou Xiaoshan.

Six years ago,

you were looking for your mom in the casino.

Do you know why I was there?

I was escaping.

Because you shot that guy?

Xianglan shot him.

I took the blame.

Later, we were escaping.

However, we failed.

Because he has a powerful family.

Jianing,

all these years,

I had struggled.

It's just... Sometimes

I really feel tired.

I thought about changing

my fate again and again,

but I have to shoulder responsibilities.

Xianglan's love.

Uncle Zha's kindness.

All those things,

I can't just forget about them

or throw them away.

It's OK.

In the future, I'll

always have your back.

Qianya asked me

why I blamed you

for abandoning me when I had hard time.

Where were you when I had hard time?

♪I open my hands and hold♪

It won't happen again.

I'll always be there.

I'll always be there for you.

Your courage

plus my courage.

I believe together we can face anything.

♪I open my hands and hold♪

Thank you, Jianing.

♪Tenderness reposes all hope.♪

Jianing,

eat more. Look, you're skinny.

Jiaxin,

how did you feel when dating Xiaoye a few days ago?

Look at you. As an adult,

you look funny when eating.

It's OK.

It's OK?

Great!

Aunt Chen and me

have been friends for more than ten years.

We know each other.

You and Xiaoye are about the same age

and he's handsome.

If you can be together with him,

I'll be happy.

Jianing,

recently, your dad's company

recruited a project director.

He's a returnee like you.

He graduated from MIT.

Sister, it's retribution.

Auntie, dad.

Will you arrange a blind date for me?

Jiaxin has got a boyfriend.

Maybe you should think about it.

Yep. Yep.

Sister,

think about your own problem.

Shut up.

Auntie, dad.

Thank you for your concern.

But at this stage,

I plan to focus on my career.

You don't have to get married now.

Try to date someone.

Just have a try.

You can't always work.

Sometimes you need to relax.

Yep.

Arrange a date, dad.

I don't need it.

Well, Yaoming,

I think

Jianing

is rather chic.

Maybe our thought is outmoded.

Next month there will be a yearly meeting in your company.

You can ask Jianing to attend it.

Jianing,

you can go to the company and

acquaint some guys.

Yes. Yes.

No. Attend it.

No, thanks.

Dad,

I have a boyfriend actually.

Sister,

you broke up with him, right?

Well,

I have no objection,

but

it doesn't mean I agree.

Dad,

I'm an adult.

I have my own judgment.

Zhou Xiaoshan

is the one I love.

Baby,

can you tell me something about

your sister's boyfriend?

He's a colleague of hers

He's also a returnee.

Returnee?

That's great. What about his parents?

What about his family?

It seems that his parents are dead.

Someone subsidized his study.

Really?

Awful.

But he's very competent in his work.

Otherwise, sister wouldn't recruit

him regardless.

So he's subordinate to your sister?

Those researchers

don't care about their ranks.

No, absolutely not.

You haven't met him.

Why did you just reject him?

You're stupid.

Don't you know our family status?

What status?

We only have two daughters.

In the future, everything

of us

will be yours.

If either of you marries a bad guy,

your dad's company will be taken away.

Mom, what you said

makes me feel like we're a royal family.

You don't get it.

Listen, you're still young.

About marriage,

you need to take our advice.

Am I clear?

Sister,

what did dad say in the study?

Nothing important.

He takes a neutral stand.

He's an old fox.

He acts like a chairman at home.

What if

dad disagrees after he meets Zhou Xiaoshan?

What will you do?

Why will he disagree?

Even if he disagrees,

it's my own business.

Alright, sister,

you broke up with Zhou Xiaoshan, right?

It seems that you're back together again.

Qiu Jianing,

you broke your promise.

No.

When did you forgive him?

What did he do to make you forgive him?

Why did you change your mind easily, sister?

I can't hear you. I can't. I can't.

I'm warning you.

If you want me to speak for you

in front of our parents,

you must tell me the truth.

Tell me, sister.

Tell me, please.

You're curious.

I won't tell you.

Jianing's boyfriend

has a complex background.

His parents died.

He studied in Southeast Asia and Europe.

Someone subsidized his study.

Well, he's a year younger than Jianing

and he's subordinate to Jianing.

Beware of that boy.

Don't worry. I got an idea.

Mr. Ruan!

You must be tired.

We've booked a room for you.

Domestic work has been transferred.

We're waiting for you.

The car is outside.

He broke up with Jianing before?

Yes. He went back to A.

You didn't write the reason.

Well,

it's private. I can't figure it out.

What do you think?

According to his profile,

he's great.

Bu his experience is complex.

That means

he's ambitious.

You mean

he stays with Ms. Qiu to

achieve his purpose.

Hi.

Hi, Uncle Zhou.

Zhou Xiaoshan.

Sorry, Mr. Zhou.

Our chairman prefers to be called Mr. Qiu.

Hi, Mr. Qiu.

Sit down.

I know your relationship with Jianing.

Do you like her?

I love her.

I like your frankness.

To a businessman,

frankness is efficiency.

Zhou Xiaoshan,

you're not good for my daughter.

because your background is complex

and suspicious.

All the data before you

went to Europe is missing.

I can't find it.

You went to Europe because

someone subsidized your trip.

Who's that guy?

Why did he help you?

The last and weirdest part is

you were determined

to break up with Jianing a month ago.

You flew to Europe.

Shortly afterwards you came back

and made up with her.

I wanna ask you

if you were me,

would you be concerned?

Mr. Qiu,

I can only say that

About your question,

I think Jianing has the answer to it.

I fell in love with Jianing

It's suspicious that you can't tell me.

or what you told Zhou Xiaoshan.

He's the one I love.

It won't change.

The one you love.

How much do you

Do you really know him?

Yes.

I spent my whole life building Qiu's Group.

Anyone who marries you

or Jiaxin

can make a fortune easily.

Jianing,

you don't know that fame and wealth

are very attractive to men.

So you think Zhou Xiaoshan is aiming

at our money?

His family, background

and behaviors

made me think about that.

Dad, do you know that

when I was abroad,

a multinational group offered me 500 million

dollars and asked me to join them.

If I agreed at that time,

even the world's best laboratory

would be mine.

As researchers,

we want to have a clear conscience.

We don't care about the money.

You said

Zhou Xiaoshan is aiming at money.

It's impossible.

That's your own opinion.

Dad,

I know you care about me.

Believe me this time.

please...

I want to ask you something.

The man who went

abroad with your mom.

How is he doing?

My mom said after they spent all the money,

the man left.

He came to see me before.

He said

if I gave him 100,000 yuan,

he would leave.

100,000 yuan is not a lot to me

but I was angry at that time. I didn't give him.

Now I regret it.

If I gave him at that time,

your mom would be happier in later years.

You're afraid Zhou Xiaoshan is the same as him.

The way you look now

is exactly the same as your mom.

You're my daughter.

I don't want the same thing happen to you.

But, dad,

mom told me that

she didn't regret it.

No way. You're lying.

You're lying, right?

Stop lying to yourself.

Zhou Xiaoshan

reminds you of that man.

He's like the painter that my mom

fell in love with.

The painter was poor

but my mom chose him and left you

in the end.

Zhou Xiaoshan

reminds you again

you were a loser in your relationship.

So you don't want us to be together,

right?

Let's stop talking about him.

Dad.

Enough. I don't wanna talk.

You should go. Go. Go. Go.

Actually, Xiaoshan isn't...

Can you stop talking about him?

I don't wanna hear his name.

Get out!

I... I don't wanna see you anymore.

Dad.

Jianing.

He's stubborn.

He's an old fogy.

Stop laughing.

Why did I have fight with my dad?

To protect me.

Tell me

what we can do now.

Jianing, may I ask

did your dad's opposition

make any impact on you?

Actually, no matter it's work or life,

you can be independent.

So your dad's opposition

can't make any

real impact on you.

You long for his approval

because you love him and care about him.

You didn't mean

to argue with him, right?

My dad broke things first.

He was angry

because he cares about you.

Who do you want to help?

Jianing,

don't hurt your family for me.

I didn't expect that it

would happen to me.

Tell me

what I can do now.

You hurried to get your dad's approval.

Did you do it for me?

Zhou Xiaoshan.

I'm trying to help you and

advise you.

Some chemical reactions occurs immediately,

while others need time.

Give your dad some time.

He'll figure it out.

What if he can't figure it out?

Ms. Su, sorry to

keep you waiting.

It's OK.

Mr. Ruan,

here's an investment report of PLAN O.

Please check.

So you think we can invest?

Yes.

Actually, when a medicine enters

the phase of clinical research,

its market potential has already been estimated.

Although PLAN O has entered Phase I,

people in the world still doubt Chinese

research study.

They're suspicious of it.

However, I think

it's the most beneficial factor for Tiancheng Fund.

Thank you,

Mr. Ruan.

Can I ask one more question?

That's not why you're here, right?

Finding professionals

to help with this case

is not difficult.

Why did you choose a leader of

Harry's Laboratory which has

the same research direction?

Even if it's for expertise,

why did you choose me?

I have something to do with PLAN O.

Ms. Su, what do you think

my purpose is?

I'm waiting for your answer.

Maybe you think

we want to make trouble.

PLAN O is short of money.

If we don't invest,

the chance for it to survive is lower than 40%.

If I hope something bad happen,

why should I invest?

Ms. Su,

investing PLAN O

will cost billions of yuan.

Actually,

it's investing in people.

By the way, I can't find out

who knows better about the

lab of PLAN O than you,

can I?

I hope so.

Qian,

why did you come back?

what happened when you were abroad?

Is Professor Harry so good?

Have you learned any skills?

Take a seat.

You asked me several questions.

Which one should I answer first?

I'm so excited.

What about you?

What happened?

I didn't go to the company you said.

Why?

On one hand, I don't think I'm gifted.

On the other hand, my career is hopeless.

Luckily,

I have a schoolmate

who works at a voluntary school.

They needed teachers

so I changed my job.

Now you're a teacher.

Well, Qian,

you didn't tell me

why you came back this time.

Because of PLAN O.

I'm confused.

They want to invest PLAN O?

They know that

something unpleasant happened when I left.

Why did they ask you to be a consultant?

I'm also confused about it.

I think Tiancheng Fund

did it purposefully.

Then why did you agree?

People all know the

fame of Harry's Laboratory.

Actually, Harry

is already in trouble.

What do you mean?

Harry's project

has no chance to succeed actually.

Harry doesn't want to admit he failed.

To maintain his prestige,

researchers edited all

data of the laboratory.

It's like what we used to...

Yep.

They did the same thing as we

did to promote the experiment.

But... Wei,

we didn't do that

for fame or money,

right?

Professor Harry did that for

his status and reputation.

He's already famous.

Why did he do that?

You can't figure it out.

Harry's Laboratory and PLAN O have the

same research direction.

Why did he

allow you to assist Tiancheng Fund?

It's interesting.

I didn't want to spend the rest of my

life there

so I had to go back.

Qian,

I'm on your side.

Tell me

what I can do.

Help me get information.

Here!

Wei, it's been a long time.

Well, Zhu,

I went abroad a few days ago.

Here's a gift.

Thanks for the gift.

When I was in the lab,

you took care of me.

It's nothing.

I miss the time when Qian was here.

What happened?

Does that project proceed slowly?

No, the project is fine.

But people

changed a lot.

Let's stop here. What do you want to drink?

Waiter!

Do you mean Qiu Jianing made up with Zhou Xiaoshan?

It's weirder that

Zhou Xiaoshan ever dumped Qiu Jianing

and went back to A.

Zhou Xiaoshan.

Qiu Jianing.

A.

Wait.

Ruan Wenzhao is also from A.

Do you think he's related to Zhou Xiaoshan?

Even if they're related,

they don't have to do such things.

Ms. Su,

let's get straight to the point.

I'll invest in PLAN O

but I don't want it to thrive.

What do you mean?

I'll help you defeat Qiu Jianing

and let you go back to the lab

on the name of Tiancheng Fund,

so you need to help me take the chance.

Tell me when I should get involved

to obtain the supreme right.

OK.

I'll write a new report.

Sorry to keep you waiting.

It's OK, Mr. Huang.

Hi, Mr. Huang.

This time I'm

a consultant to Tiancheng Fund.

I look forward to working with you.

Good.

Come in,

please.

Ms. Su,

you know what,

we're both Chinese.

We're compatriots.

If I do anything wrong,

please kindly let me know.

Mr. Huang,

you should complete your work.

If you can't do it,

I'm sorry

to tell you I have to report.

Mr. Huang, what's your decision?

Mr. Ruan,

I believe in Tiancheng.

However, your condition is too...

We'll invest more than 10 billion yuan at a time

and we demand to manage researchers.

The demand is

acceptable, right?

Well, Mr. Huang,

I'll give you a week.

If you don't reply to me within a week,

Tiancheng will never invest in PLAN O.

Why don't you approve the transfer

of purchase money of PLAN O?

Mr. Huang,

to be honest, I can't approve it.

Now our capital chain is tight.

We are

supposed to receive a lot

of money.

However, the payment period is long.

If I approve the transfer of PLAN O,

I'm afraid the capital chain will be broken.

OK.

Try to get the overdue payment.

Once we get it,

you approve the transfer of PLAN O.

OK. No problem.

Mr. Huang, Ms. Qiu is here.

Mr. Huang,

sorry,

some bills need to be signed.

The spender is here.

Looks like I should go.

Take your time.

Thanks.

Ms. Qiu,

please sit down.

I'm afraid of you recently.

You often come with bad news.

It's a critical stage of the project.

It ll be better a few months later.

I hope so.

Well,

We haven't received the

purchase money.

I'll ask for you.

Did anything happen to our company?

No, no, no.

Ms. Qiu, focus on the research.

Let me handle other things.

Thank you.

Ms. Su, why are you sure that

Original Life Corporation

will ask for our help in the end?

Once it enters the clinical trial,

based on my knowledge,

equipment they have

is not enough for the experiment.

Some new equipment is needed.

It'll cost a lot of money.

Besides,

I used my relations to

raise the cost of patient recruitment

for the trail.

That means

they'll have to increase the budget for

Phase II.

Under the pressure,

I don't think

Mr. Huang will refuse.

Great.

But I'm curious.

If you get the administration authority,

how will you replace Qiu Jianing by me?

She's important to the project now.

You can't just fire her.

It doesn't make sense.

Ms. Su,

if you complete my task,

I'll definitely keep my promise.

I have a good news to tell you.

What news?

The head office called us.

The report on Phase I of clinical

research we submitted last month

has been approved.

Besides, we're allowed to enter Phase II.

Our efforts were not in vain.

Right.

Ms. Qiu,

can we go home early today?

Yes. Yes.

Of course.

All of you can go home early today

unless you're on duty.

There's a dinner buffet on the first floor.

Our company paid for it.

I'm so happy!

Thank you for your efforts at this stage.

It's OK to be happy.

During the next phase,

we need to conduct research

rigorously like before.

Lei, we're happy right now.

Don't be a buzzkill.

He's like a stone.

He's hard-hearted.

I plan to buy you afternoon tea.

Maybe I should forget it.

No, no, no.

You're the best.

No, no, no. We're sorry.

Well, that's enough.

Tomorrow

we'll enter the preparatory stage

of Phase II.

There will be more patients

and volunteers.

More patients and their

family will count on us.

Peer groups will doubt us.

The following audits will be stricter.

let's fight!
