Doing work for free it's kind of a hard, 2

hard thing to talk about. You kind of 3

have to do it coming out when you first 4

started whether you went to film school 5

or not. Doing little projects for free, 6

will help you get going, it will help you 7

get content for your website and for 8

your real. As well as help you network. 9

Now as you go on for five years into 10

shooting. I'm still doing work for free 11

every so often but that's because you 12

trade favors for people. I have a couple 13

of guys I work with are like hey can you 14

come on? Bring your movie on and maybe 15

15

one day you can rent some of our cameras 16

for free sunday. Ok so I'll go on over, 17

for free and in that sense we can 18

18

exchange do work trade. So there's always 19

that there's also ways of just having 20

friends who have passion projects are 21

really need that one extra guy to help 22

out, that can really work in your favor 23

as far as networking, as far as getting 24

favors done later. So working for free 25

kind of depends on where you feel as far 26

as is that work your time? do you feel 27

like it's going to get you more gigs 28

later? do you feel like it's going to help 29

your career personally? or are you doing 30

it as a friend? So there's a lot of 31

different ways to look at it. The thing 32

that I would say is the worst thing is 33

don't work for free on a crappy 34

production. The worst thing is going to 35

35

work for someone for free and then it 36

being awful and terrible and you are not 37

gaining anything from even spiritually, 38

because if you're out there as an artist 39

shooting something and you hate it, 40

there's no point in doing it.
