[Once Given Never Forgotten Ep18]

I didn't expect you to come to see me.

I'm not here for you.

I'm here for Chen Qi.

I can't find him. Do you know where he is?

He must be hiding.

Maybe he's drinking somewhere.

I've made calls already.

He's neither at home nor in the orphanage.

If he doesn't want anyone to find him,

he definitely won't go to those places.

Do you think Chen Qi will come here?

I'm sure he's here. Trust me.

Over there.

[Your First Name and My Last Name]

Let's take a break.

OK. Here.

Ms. Liang, This is all for you.

Check out how hard I'm working.

Go on. Go on.

Don't think that nothing happened

because you blacked out last night.

Let me make this clear.

Don't ruin my reputation.

Tell me the truth.

Did you have a falling out with Miss Su?

What happened?

Did you bully her?

Nothing.

It's just what couples do.

I may not good at other things,

but I'm the expert at saying sweet things to girls.

I know what to do.

You're right. I'll stop worrying.

I don't care about other things,

you must take good care of the concept video.

Sure, Ma'am.

Set up the lamp first.

Adjust the light.

Are you sure you don't need a ride?

I'm fine. I drove here.

Be careful and don't catch a cold.

I know.

Bye-bye.

Bye.

You're having a cold.

It's nothing. Thank you.

Well,

I've been following your website.

If you need anything, let me know.

I'm fine. Thanks.

I'll drive you home.

The factory staff is temporarily unavailable. We won't be able to see the samples.

Are you still there? I'll come and meet you.

No need for that. I'm about to leave.

But I've arrived...

I should go, bye.

Lianxin.

Thank you for giving me a ride.

Remember to take your medicine.

Hello, Is there any news?

OK.

Keep searching.

What's wrong?

Do you have a cold? Are you crying?

Who bullied you? Tell me.

No one.

I just watched a movie.

It's a very touching movie, so I cried.

I'm impressed.

What can I do for you at this hour?

Nothing.

I can't sleep, so I wanna have a chat with you.

Where's Julia?

If you're bored, why don't you call her?

Her mum's sick so she went home.

Hear this.

Today's concert went exceptionally well.

Many fans gave me their love letters.

I couldn't stop them.

It's a good thing.

This shows how popular you are.

I remember there was a girl

who enjoyed blocking others' love letters for me.

There was a reason for that.

To be honest,

Did you have feelings for me back then?

You're thinking big.

I was just a little selfish at that time.

I've finally made a friend,

and I didn't wanna share you with anyone.

How nice it would be

if you had feelings for me now.

Lianxin, I'm looking at fireworks.

It's beautiful. Listen.

Spill it out. What did Lianxin say?

Can you two stop taking turns

like interrogating a criminal?

Yesterday was Lianxin, now it's you.

I was just hungover for once.

Let me tell you.

If I ever drink again,

I'm a bastard.

Seriously?

No.

If you don't wanna be interrogated,

you have to be honest. Just tell me.

I haven't sorted them out. You can just have a look.

What's the theme?

Sagacity, ingenuity, and superiority.

Take it easy.

She said that these concepts have nothing to do with you.

So what did she say?

You wanna know?

Spill it out.

Beg me.

What?

Fine.

She said that

every piece of furniture and architecture

has its own story.

They all have hearts given

by their designers.

Don't you think it's similar to your idea?

It's almost like she can read your mind.

Tang Shi has been talking about

cooperating with online stores.

Do you think

Lianxin will turn me down

if I work with Beloved?

My friend, you have finally made up your mind.

As far as I know,

they haven't had

a reputable designer in their company.

If you present this idea now,

you're giving timely help.

But Lianxin treats me like a stranger now.

She doesn't wanna talk to me.

What's wrong? Are you upset?

Let me tell you.

Look at you,

only she can influence you.

If she really sees you as a stranger,

it's a good thing.

You two share similar ideas. The business will go well.

Don't be so secretive, just say it.

Why don't you give her a test?

If she makes a contract with you,

it shows that she can work with you without her feelings.

If she doesn't make the contract,

then it tells that

you're still her Xiang Yuqiu.

You aren't any designer, you know?

Wait a minute.

Both sound so pathetic.

But Lianxin doesn't like such a move.

Who told you that?

You are still influenced by

that confession in Spain.

That's not true.

Then what's the problem?

Be straightforward.

You just pretend that nothing happened.

Negotiate with her as a designer.

Mr. Xiang, I've just closed a big deal.

Tell Ms. Tang about business matters.

No need to inform me.

I have to tell you.

It's a big client.

He ordered thousands of pieces of work in one go.

Thousands of pieces?

Yes.

The client owns a number of exclusive clubs.

It's a national chain club.

He also said that

he will replace all furniture in the club with ours.

If that's the case,

then tell him that

I don't my work

showing up in his chain clubs.

Turn him down.

Why?

He's a big client.

Do as I say.

It's a tough job to be your employee.

He gets scolded for making a deal.

You don't understand.

Li Ang,

He doesn't understand

the idea and concept of the studio.

Money is all he's thinking about.

He only knows businesses.

No big deal. Fire him.

No need for this.

He's my classmate after all.

You classmate?

When you were down and out,

what did he do to you?

You've forgotten?

You can't blame him. It was my fault.

He was kind enough to give me a job,

but I didn't appreciate it.

Fine. Fine. Fine.

You're the boss. You're right.

From my perspective,

the way you lecture your staff,

I can tell that you're only tough at home.

It's nothing.

If you're truly a tough guy, talk to Lianxin then.

Chen Qi.

You're a jerk!

Any news?

There are some designers

who haven't explicitly said no.

Both the operation and marketing departments are following their cases.

But, according to their feedback,

the terms we offered are not as good as iShang's.

It's gonna be tough.

Spell it out.

Although it sounds a bit whimsical,

the operation side wants to see Xiang Yuqiu.

If you have really moved on,

you'd consider

collaboration based on your actual needs

instead of ruling him out

irrationally.

I'll talk to Xiang Yuqiu.

Contact other designers as usual.

Okay.

Oh, there's one more thing.

Next Friday at 7 pm,

Xiang Yuqiu will attend

the 5th Golden Residence Awards as a judge.

Do you want to attend?

Next Friday?

Taozi will be back next Friday.

You pick her up at the airport,

then take her straight to the gala.

I won't go there.

Okay.

Put this away.

Are you done? Let's go.

Chen Qi is here too.

Chen Qi will join us for dinner tonight.

You aren't busy making money recently?

Why do you come here every day?

What money?

I'm rich.

We're just doing business.

Let's go. I'll make you a big dinner.

Lianxin.

The last time you came here,

I had to go back to my hometown.

When I got your call,

I couldn't believe that

our Lianxin will be back.

When I was here,

I always missed the world outside.

Now that I've been away for many years,

I miss living here again.

When you were adopted by the Luo family,

you were only ten.

And now you've grown.

How nice it is.

Most of these were donated by Xiang Yuqiu.

There are more in other classrooms.

Xiang Yuqiu?

Yes.

He and his girlfriend come here all the time.

They gave the children many things and taught them to draw.

I remember that

you and Yuqiu were very close.

Are you two still in touch?

Sort of.

Think about it.

It's interesting how people connect.

You can abandon your flesh and blood.

But you can also be with people who aren't related.

In the end,

no one knows that

who will be the one with them till the end.

Chen Qi,

all you do is eating. Won't you give a hand?

Xiang Yuqiu, hurry up.

I haven't seen you for a long time and your face got round.

Xiang Yuqiu, there's something wrong with your lights.

It's making me look fat.

All you do is eating and drinking.

And you're so talkative.

I'm fat? Then you'll eat them all.

Thank you.

We've known each other for so long time.

Why are you still so polite?

You need to learn to appreciate it.

Where's Su Xiao? She didn't come with you?

She's working late tonight.

We should ask Su Xiao to come to dinner next time.

You don't know that

Su Xiao's very good at cooking.

It's only Chen Qi

who doesn't learn to be satisfied.

He's dawdling over his time at my place.

I've left something in the studio.

I'll go and get it. You guys enjoy your food.

Finish eating before leaving.

What's going on?

Forget about him.

I saw you with Lianxin the other day.

She's back?

I heard from Chen Qi

that she's been back for a long time.

She just didn't tell us.

What's wrong?

Nothing.

I just remember that

she used to cause trouble for you.

You still have after-effects from that hand injury.

Now she's back again.

She's not that little kid anymore.

Have you ever heard about Beloved?

What do you want to say?

Aren't we trying to go online now?

I'm afraid that you'll make immature decisions

on the spur of the moment.

Rest assured.

I'll talk to her first.

Your coffee.

Thanks.

An Americano with no sugar, please.

Yes.

Are you used to it?

Yes.

Last time you asked me out because of Chen Qi.

Are you sure it's me this time?

I'd like to ask you to join Beloved.

Here's the contract.

I've seen the concept video Chen Qi made for you.

What do you think? Are you interested in it?

I want to ask you something.

In the video,

you say that every piece of furniture has a story behind it.

The designer's core hides in it.

Where does this idea come from?

It comes from you.

Me?

Do you remember

Parc Güell where we went before?

Gaudi used his architecture arts

to put his name on the park,

even the whole of Barcelona.

His name is everywhere.

Every building stores the souls of its designers.

It's just like the furniture I designed.

Although designers could leave their marks on those pieces,

what's more important is that

they carry the feelings of their users.

You said

that furniture is the same as architecture.

Either the designer has put all his effort into it,

or it's engraved by the user over time.

No matter which one is it,

each piece of handmade furniture

can't be replicated.

What do you think?

Are you satisfied with my explanation?

I'll take the contract and read it thoroughly.

If I sign with you now,

What will happen if I get screwed by you?

Don't worry.

You can be absolutely sure of your reputation when you work with me.

If you have any requests,

just say it out.

I'll take them into consideration.

Is there anything else you want to say?

All these years...

How have you been?

I'm fine.

As you can see,

I'm now the CEO of a website.

That's all you need to know.

I'm sorry.

For what?

I didn't handle a lot of things well.

It was fine. It made me grow up overnight.

Oh,

Ben passed away.

When did that happen?

Six months ago.

He's buried with his wife now.

He was such a good man.

But his happy life was too short.

What's happiness?

As long as you've loved each other with all your heart,

it's worth remembering even if the time was short.

On the contrary,

some people are entangled for the rest of their lives.

When they think of each other, there's only resentment.

People who are separated by worldly views

have no happy lives.

You've really grown up.

Su Xiao, are you home?

No, I've moved out.

I sold the house you left me.

You sold it?

So, where are you going?

I'm getting married.

Chen Qi?

Congratulations.

Is he nice to you?

He's falling into me, that's all I need.

Su Xiao, shall we meet again...

Taozi,

what took you so long?

Why didn't you come in?

I didn't bring my keys and my phone was dead.

Come in. Come in.

Drink it.

It's cold, right?

Yes, it is.

How was it? Did you have fun at the gala?

Don't even mention it. It's so boring.

This year's designs aren't good.

By the way,

I've met Xiang Yuqiu.

He is spotless and flawless.

He may become

the designer we'll be working with.

Really? That's great!

Finally, there's someone handsome.

Oh,

I've also sent the news page on your phone.

Let's have a look.

Come on.

Why don't you use your phone?

I told you that my phone is dead.

Look.

Here.

Is Xiang Yuqiu...

Is he the one Luo Rui said

who abandoned you in Spain?

It's really him!

How dare he bully Lianxin?

You're useless even if you have a pretty face.

That's my phone.

Right. Right. Right. That's yours.

Is it broken?

Let me see.

Taozi!

Send this file to the courier.

OK.

Thank you.

Let's have lunch.

Thanks.

Why do you look so tired?

You didn't sleep well again?

I was up late working on my drawings.

Oh, I have to go out for a while.

You can have lunch alone.

There's a file on the desktop.

Inside it are sketches of furniture

that I've just designed.

Send them to Mr. Cheng.

Sure

Hello?

This is Beloved.

I'm calling because our boss is temporarily unavailable.

So I'd like to ask Mr. Xiang

if we can postpone the meeting

to 3 o'clock this afternoon.

I'm about to call you.

Mr. Xiang is also busy today.

Can we postpone the time

to 3 tomorrow afternoon?

Sorry.

The number you have dialed cannot be reached at the moment.

Please try it later.

What's going on with my phone?

They said that I sent it too late,

so I can't get it back until tomorrow afternoon.

I need to use your phone for a while.

No, you'll be killing me!

I need to get in touch with Xiang Yuqiu.

What if I can't get in touch with him tomorrow?

Do you think that

Xiang Yuqiu is putting on a show?

He's not that kind of person.

When you were in Spain,

what exactly happened?

He dumped you in a fit of rage.

Don't be so nosy.

I mean it.

When you work with him this time,

will you rekindle your love for him?

There's nothing to be rekindled.

Then why don't you be with Luo Rui?

He's miserable.

If you keep being so nosy, I won't let you eat anymore.

All you do is eat.

Isn't that enough to keep you quiet?

I'll stop talking. I'll stop talking.

Oh, dear. Ye Mutao.

I'm sorry.

For what?

I didn't handle a lot of things well.

It's fine. It made me grow up overnight.

Lianxin.

It's been a while.

Xiang Yuqiu is busy.

So I'm here.

Have a seat.

It's better if you come.

My bad.

I forgot to introduce myself.

I'm now a partner in Xiang Yuqiu's studio.

When you were at Huayu Media,

you were very good at your job and had wide connections.

You must have helped Xiang Yuqiu a lot for these years.

Of course, we're always good teammates.

So let's get down to business.

How do you think of the contract?

How can I put it?

You know.

Compare to Beloved,

iShang's resources are much better

in all aspects.

So Ingenuity chose to sign with them.

Have you already signed?

Yes.

Is there any room for negotiation?

If you have any questions,

you can always ask.

The contract...

I don't think this is necessary.

Well then,

I won't keep bothering you.

In fact, Beloved isn't so bad.

It's just not suitable for Ingenuity.

I've paid the bill. Take your time.

Are you alright?

I'm still alive.

When you talked to Xiang Yuqiu in the beginning,

all you do was to show that you've let it go.

You didn't think it would work out.

Did you?

You're right, but I thought...

Business is business.

It's perfectly understandable

that Xiang Yuqiu chose iShang.

But let Tang Shi turn you down,

instead of informing you directly,

it was brutal.

Do you think that

Tang Shi and Xiang Yuqiu are really together?

I heard that since Ingenuity was established,

Tang Shi has been there by Xiang Yuqiu's side.

How many years has it been?

People all say that

companionship is the strongest confession of love.

Even if Xiang Yuqiu is a stone,

he should have been moved by her.

I have to admit that

Tang Shi is a good match for Xiang Yuqiu in both appearance and ability.

That's enough.

Don't be so harsh on yourself

and praise others.

It's fine that Xiang Yuqiu doesn't wanna work with us.

You can ask Luo Rui to endorse you.

He'll say yes without hesitation.

Luo Rui?

Yeah.

Celebrity endorsement is very common now.

It's the fan economy.

If you find him to endorse you,

then our sales are assured.

Let me think about it.

It's fine.

Buding, change the lens.

Okay.

Boss.

Lianxin stood you up?

I waited in the cafe the entire afternoon.

She didn't show up.

No way!

She's the one who came to talk to you.

She can't be that careless.

Didn't you wanna test her?

Here's the answer.

You aren't happy, right?

I don't know what she has been through these years.

But the only thing I know for sure is that

she's not the little girl

who was dependent on us anymore.

Don't you wanna check out her company?

I won't be welcomed.

Let me tell you.

If there's a misunderstanding, you have to clear it up.

I know you wanna save face.

I've even come up with an excuse for you.

Here, take it to her.

No. You send emails to her.

You've been with a stubborn woman,

and you've become stubborn as well?

I'm giving you an excuse.

Here's the demo.

Let her check if there's any problem.

Take it.

Take it.

It's a deal.

Taozi, Taozi,

someone's here.

What's wrong?

Well, we have a visitor.

From the Ministry of Culture?

-Aren't they coming next week? -No.

No.

It's Xiang Yuqiu.

The famous designer, Xiang Yuqiu.

Can you say it all at one go?

Xiang Yuqiu.

Hello, we've met at the Gold Nest Design Awards.

See? He's so handsome.

Yes, so what?

I'm here for Lianxin.

She's out.

I don't know when she'll be back.

Here's for you.

Chen Qi asked me to give it to you.

The rough demo of your concept video.

When will Lianxin be back?

Tell her to call me.

I want to talk to her about our cooperation.

What do you wanna talk about?

Haven't you abandoned her?

What did you say?

I said,

You've already signed with iShang.

Why bother coming here and talking about cooperation?

That's not the way to show off.

Who told you that I signed with iShang?

Who else could it be?

Your nice partner, Tang Shi.

Ok, I see.

Thank you. Goodbye.

What? Why didn't you tell me earlier?

I just got your phone.

Xiang Yuqiu.

He really knows nothing about signing with iShang.

From the way he looks,

I don't think he knows anything.

Why did you say that

We've already signed with iShang?

Give us a minute.

I've already got the contract.

All that's missing is your signature.

And didn't you say that,

as long as it doesn't involve the Angel's Wings,

I can make all other decisions.

But at least you should let me know

what you've done.

I thought you knew.

You are the one who wants to choose a website to work with.

iShang's resources are much better than Beloved.

You're hesitant to sign with them,

just because you want to help Lianxin.

I understand.

But I can't let you keep going like this.

You are too emotional.

I'm just saying that I need to think about it.

I didn't mean that I've decided to sign with Lianxin.

What's the difference?

Haven't you made up your mind already?

I don't want to argue with you.

But I hope you can respect my opinions.

Xiang Yuqiu.

You've been acting like this more than once.

I've always been the one to clean up your mess.

This time,

can you please think about it calmly?

What's the quality of Beloved?

What's the quality of iShang?

I can't stand by and watch you ruin Ingenuity

just because you want to help Lianxin.

No way!

This isn't as pessimistic as you think.

Firstly, the philosophy of Beloved

are highly compatible with ours.

Secondly,

I believe that

Beloved will have a bright future.

If we cooperate with Lianxin,

we may even become the benchmark of the industry.

Xiang Yuqiu, you...

What's wrong?

Stop talking.

What happened?

Remember.

He's not just your Xiang Yuqiu,

and you're not his only one.

You haven't been eating regularly, right?

No.

Only once or twice.

It took you such a long time to recover.

As the saying goes, it's more important to nurture than to treat.

Chronic gastritis.

You can't wait until the symptoms show up.

You have to eat regularly in small portions.

Things like tea, coffee,

all these strong beverages should be consumed less.

You know my job,

things like tea and coffee...

Listen to the doctor first.

If you had listened,

would you be sitting here now?

Yeah, listen to your boyfriend.

Oh, make her some porridge.

It's good for her stomach.

Don't make her angry.

Try to keep the patient in a happy mood.

Young people these days...

Thank you.

Don't make me angry. Listen to the doctor.

Have some hot water.

You need to stay and rest for the next few days.

Don't go out too often.

No, I'm still concerned.

What are you concerned about?

You know what I mean.

Whether or not you're here,

I've made up my mind.

Xiang Yuqiu.

If you want me to respect you,

then you should at least let me finish my word.

OK.

I'm never an unreasonable person.

If signing with Beloved

is going to help us,

why would I stop you?

But now,

Lianxin's website

has nothing solid

except the concept banner

It isn't suitable for us.

Then what kind of website is suitable for us?

You know the answer.

Signing with iShang is like working with a giant.

But signing with Beloved

is merely helping the poor.
