Once Given Never Forgotten Ep09

Let me see.

You look a lot older lately.

Don't be disrespectful.

You look like a grandpa.

You're Santa Claus!

Stop it.

Xiang Yuqiu,

you've always been worried about my safety.

So I'll let you be my bodyguard.

Come on,

let's practice dance.

No.

Oh, right,

I forgot to ask,

how did your interview go?

Pay some attention please.

I've worked at my new job for two days.

What? Why didn't you tell me?

This is huge.

You should've told me.

We need to celebrate it.

You have to come to the ball now.

Come out.

Am I old?

Looks alright.

Relax.

My,

my hand

should be here.

No, here.

Relax your hand.

Don't be a prude.

Relax.

Yeah.

OK, your hand.

Xiang Yuqiu,

take it seriously.

I, I am.

Follow my lead.

Sorry.

Here.

Pull back your right leg first.

Right leg.

Yeah.

Come on.

Ready, go.

One, two, three.

Relax.

What are you doing?

This is dancing, not martial arts.

Are you doing lunges?

Relax.

You...

Relax, just relax.

Relax.

Relax your legs too.

Don't cross them.

Okay, relax.

Ready, go.

One, two, three.

One, two, three.

One, two, three.

Good, you're doing well.

Keep it going.

One, two, three. One, two, three.

One, two, three. One, two, three.

Good.

One, two, three. One, two, three.

One, two...

No problem, it will be delivered on time.

Bye.

Bye.

Have a nice day.

Hello?

A ballgown?

Why?

For the ball.

Aren't you gonna wear a ballgown?

Isn't it too much?

Geez.

You know your usual dresses are not for that occasion.

You only get to wear the ballgown once,

that's such a waste.

That's your first ball,

first ballgown

and first dance.

It would become a memento

to remember your youth with.

Treat yourself.

Ok, I'll look into it.

Don't worry.

Thank you for the tip.

I gotta go, got deliveries.

Ok, bye.

Lianxin.

Your Spanish is getting so good.

Thank you for helping me with it.

The fried rice you brought,

so tasty.

I'll bring you more tomorrow.

These flowers would be my thank-you.

It's okay.

I can go since it's my shift.

I'm already familiar with Barcelona.

Ok, be careful.

Will do, bye.

Take care.

Take it slow, be careful.

Slowly!

Sorry, sorry.

Welcome home.

You look exhausted.

Yeah, had a long day.

Wait.

This is for you.

What is it?

How much did it cost?

Why did you buy this for me?

I don't want to go to the ball with someone who

dresses like a little girl.

I have plenty of clothes.

You don't have to buy me.

Just take it.

You're a big girl now.

You should dress properly

for important occasions.

Don't skimp on something like this.

Understand?

Now try it on.

Why, do you not like it?

I do.

Why the face?

I love this dress,

thank you.

Lianxin.

Let's go.

Lianxin.

You look amazing.

Thank you.

Now I know

why you never join us at parties.

You prefer the mature type!

Clearly.

Cut it out.

He's family.

Is this the one

you mentioned before?

Look at how cute he is all suited up!

Thanks.

Your schoolmates are very friendly.

Everyone brought their date,

but no one is as cute as Lianxin's.

I know.

Hey hottie,

would you like to dance with me?

Don't tease him.

Let's go.

Miss Lianxin,

may I dance with you?

Xiang Yuqiu, you're not bad.

Mr. Xiang Yuqiu,

you're a fast learner.

I am, right?

Amazing.

Thanks to my coach, Miss Lianxin.

Xiang Yuqiu,

I want a drink.

You can't.

Why not?

Everyone else is.

I don't care.

Have some water.

No, no, no.

I want alcohol. I want alcohol!

Just a little.

Let me tell you,

not one sip.

Lianxin, will you dance with me?

Sorry,

I'm with my date...

Lianxin,

it's normal

to dance with your schoolmate today, go ahead.

It's so beautiful.

Thank you for coming to the ball with me.

Hey, Chen Qi.

Well, Yuqiu,

good job.

What do you mean?

Cut the crap.

I saw the pictures.

What pictures?

Lianxin sent me.

How come you went dancing?

That's the ball from her language school.

She doesn't know anyone,

so I went as her date.

Ok.

I see you're having a good time.

I can be reassured.

Tell Lianxin

don't glam up too much.

The Spanish men will be all over her.

What if

they try to ask her out?

Don't worry,

I'll look after her.

True.

With you standing next to her,

no one will be interested.

Chen Qi,

you think you're safe

being far away from me,

but I kept logging.

Come one then.

I dare you.

Ok, have to go.

Bye.

Boss, everything's ready.

We can start.

Ok, give me a minute.

What?

No work visa?

It's a proper restaurant

and we can't hire someone without a visa.

But, sir,

we had a deal.

You said you'll get me a visa.

You can't take it back.

Dude,

there's no written proof,

is there?

So you're saying

I'm fired?

Yeah, that's right.

You're fired.

Before I thought I was

just helping you out,

you know, being nice

to the fellow Chinese.

So you had it all planned out?

There's no work visa

or anything,

I'm just a temp.

Dude,

you can't put it like that.

You, you're being unfair.

Check this out,

I paid you a lot.

Here, I'll show you.

Geez.

Dude,

You...calm down!

It's not worth it.

Stop calling yourself Chinese.

Amen.

Ms. Jiang,

long time no see.

Long time no see.

What would you like today?

Same with last time.

Ok.

Your purse.

Thank you.

I'll give you a ride.

Just leave the bottle.

Let him serve me.

The rest is for you.

She's one of the richest girls in this town.

I really don't care.

You cross her

and the boss gets angry, not my business.

Alright.

Hi.

You look familiar.

Don't you remember?

My name's Xiang Yuqiu.

Xiang Yuqiu?

My sister and I met you when we first came to

Barcelona.

Your purse.

Thank you.

That's alright.

Geez, you ok?

That was you!

That girl who called me auntie,

she's your sister?

Sort of.

She's my family.

Drink with me.

Sorry,

we're not allowed to drink at work.

How about this,

I'll pay for your drinks tonight.

Fine with me,

but you might end up penniless

for this month.

Yuqiu,

you can go now.

I'll just wait a bit longer.

You're off?

No need to keep me company.

We had a deal.

I'm paying for your drinks.

I'll leave when you finish.

It's not working for me.

I won't feel bad for taking your time

or costing you money.

Worry about yourself first.

The bathroom is that way.

I'm going somewhere else.

You're too drunk to drive.

This way?

You sure?

I go there all the time,

how can I be wrong.

Why are we here?

Park the car first.

What's wrong?

I paid for the drinks tonight.

So you still owe me.

What's the matter?

I'm not gonna eat you alive.

Let's go.

Just park the car.

Give him the key.

Give me, alright.

Don't just stand there,

come play.

My treat.

I don't think so.

Why do you come to the casino?

Because it's easy fun.

You know,

everything is destined

once you get on the table.

Look at those people,

they're everywhere in casinos,

hoping to change their lives here.

But when the cards are dealt,

it's already determined.

All you can do is wait.

Wait to see the result and accept it.

I really gotta go.

There's no subway or bus,

how do you plan on going back?

Are you gonna take a taxi?

I'll figure it out.

Are you worried about your sister?

A young girl like that

has all the patience in the world

for someone she counts on.

Rest assured.

Are you done?

I'm gonna be late for my appointment.

Hurry up.

Take it.

Come home soon when you

have the contract.

Yeah, yeah.

But a lot of men cannot be counted on.

You ok?

Are you drunk?

I can drink more.

I'll get the car.

Wait here.

Hello.

How are you?

Good.

Japanese?

Korean?

Chinese?

Yes, Chinese.

Hi.

Let's go get a drink,

or play some cards.

No.

Let's go.

Let's go, gorgeous.

Let's go, let's go.

Come on, come on.

I don't want to go.

Don't worry.

Don't worry.

Let's go.

Let go.

Let's go, don't worry.

Get off of her.

Stop, stop it.

Stop.

This way.

Where do you live?

In China.

It's a beautiful place.

Forget it,

it's long gone.

At home,

I was just a credit card,

I didn't even deserve a bed.

Where on earth do you live?

I live in a chateau.

When I first came,

they said

for a woman as beautiful as I am

should live in a chateau for the Marquess.

No.

Wake up.

Where do you live?

Wake up.

Chen Qi.

Why are you here?

It's our project,

I can check in.

I heard you worked overnight,

exhausted, huh?

So you're here for inspection.

Didn't sleep all night.

I send them back.

Get up then.

Brush your teeth

and eat.

Ok.

I need to send an email with your laptop.

Password.

Can you change your password?

Stop using my birthday as your password.

Lianxin sent these to me.

It's her ball.

Careful.

Here, careful with the steps.

Lianxin, Lianxin.

Come help.

Careful.

How...

This...

This is Jiang...

Paisley Jiang?

Yes, this is she.

Why are you with her?

She's drunk.

I don't know where she lives

and I can't leave her in a hotel.

Help me with this.

This way.

Careful.

Help me with this.

Turns out

I miss him a lot.

I'll delete them.

I'll never show you anything

about Xiang Yuqiu.

Chen Qi.

Are you tired?

Must be tiring to love me.

Because sometimes I think

it's exhausting to be in love with Xiang Yuqiu,

it must be the same for you.

Not for me.

How can it be?

The person you love

doesn't love you back.

You'll never make it.

The pain

and the helplessness.

Sometimes

you feel like crying

to get his attention,

but it won't help.

Cry all you want.

I can't.

And Xiang Yuqiu

will never know I've cried for him.

Tang Shi,

let me tell you.

I think

you don't necessarily

tell someone you love him.

Xiang Yuqiu is not over Luo Ting.

What can you achieve by letting him know?

But I feel

even one day he decides to move on,

it won't be

with me.

There will be someone for you.

I don't want anyone else.

Chen Qi.

Stop lying to yourself.

It will never happen between us.

I know it's hard for you.

It's hard for me too.

I can understand you

and I can understand Xiang Yuqiu.

So I will move on.

You should move on too.

To be over with Xiang Yuqiu or not

is your decision.

To be over with you or not

is my decision.

It doesn't concern me.

Chen Qi,

please, just let go.

We both should.

You're a nice guy,

I don't want you

to be in my situation.

And I don't want to be the cause of that.

This is great, you're getting better.

The ribs are awful

but you're eating them.

You're exhausted from work

every day,

yet you splurge on a ballgown for me.

Xiang Yuqiu, why are you...

What's wrong with you.

You're talking crazy.

If I ever come home late,

don't wait up.

Just go to bed.

Why are you with Paisley Jiang?

I ran into her.

Barcelona is huge,

how convenient?

You work in a bar

and you try to hide it?

I'm just helping out a friend.

What friend?

You just came here.

Fine,

I'll let that slide.

But what about you working in a Thai restaurant?

Who told you?

It's not true.

I saw it

by following you.

Why didn't you tell me?

You're working two jobs,

that's too much.

I'm having some trouble with my career.

So it's just temporary.

I don't want the gowns

or a luxurious lifestyle.

I just want you to be with me.

Don't work yourself like that.

I have the money,

you don't have to do this.

I have a lot of money

and I can work

to support myself.

You don't have to work this hard.

There, there.

Everything will be fine.

It will be fine.

You stayed up all night?

I'll do it.

I don't want anymore

burnt food.

How hard is frying an egg?

I can do this.

Fine, go ahead.

Don't move.

Geez.

I'll see what can you make.

I'll do it.

Let me.

Where's the spatula?

Die, die!

What's wrong?

Nothing,

just a cockroach.

Where, where?

It's a very basic home you have.

It's a very basic outfit you have on.

Me?

Ok,

just freshen up

and get changed.

Breakfast is ready.

Let's go.

You should go to school after this.

I know you can get made-in-China

insecticide from a shop in Chinatown

that is very effective.

I can give you

the address if you need it.

Auntie,

you know where to get insecticide?

Eat your breakfast.

Impressive,

right?

It must be hard to sell them.

It is not.

I'm not asking,

I'm stating a fact.

That's right.

This artist just

rescued a drunk lady last night.

He didn't sell much of his art.

I was just saying it.

Don't take it seriously.

As a thank-you for helping me last night,

I believe I have a better job than a bartender for you.

This is my friend's firm, you can check it out.

Looking for architects, drafters,

landscape designers

and an executive assistant.

That's great.

I can see a bright future

ahead of us.

Auntie...

Ms. Jiang,

I'll make a toast with the milk

to thank you for your help.

The little girl's a lot savvier than you are.

Yes.

Yuqiu is

a little prudent

and not so worldly,

but he's very talented.

So you must help...

What was that for? I haven't finished yet.

Shut up.

Take your time.

I'm finished.

Hope to see you in a different situation next time.

To the right.

Bye.

Check this out,

I think you can really do this.

You're one talker.

Just eat your breakfast.

You have a lot to say to someone you just met.

You stomped on me.

Why can't I?

Eat.

Eat.

Eat.

Eat your breakfast.

Hello, how can I help?

Who is this?

I'm looking for my son.

Is this Xiang Yuqiu's mother?

I'm his friend.

Put Xiang Yuqiu on the phone.

He's in...

Danger.

Danger?

What danger?

No, no.

Mrs. Xiang,

I meant he's abroad.

For how long?

I have no idea.

He didn't go alone.

I know.

I'll be back in a few days.

Great, Mrs. Xiang.

I'll pick you up

when you're back.

Not a problem.

Did she reply?

Nothing,

not even a sticker.

Wait, what on earth

is she thinking.

Replied.

Give me.

She blocked me.

Hello?

How did it go?

Did you not make it?

They have to be pretty blind

to not able to

recognize someone this talented.

How did it go

on earth?

I made it.

Really?

Paisley,

he was here.

How did it go?

He passed

the interview for drafter,

shall I arrange for onboarding?

No.

Give him a three-month probation

as the Executive Assistant.

Would you like to see him?

No need.

Tell him to come in tomorrow.

Sure.

You've been on a lot of dates lately.

If you switch boyfriends that often,

I might suggest you switch jobs too.

I see.

Lianxin?

See you at the usual place.

Did you do all this?

What do you think?

Romantic, right?
