[Rebel Princess]

[Episode 47]

What nonsense!

He is my eldest imperial prince.

All of his food, lodgings and anything he comes into contact with has been carefully monitored

ever since he was born. How could he have been fed with alcohol?

I’ve already instructed the medical attendant to boil some hangover soup

for the little prince to d-drink later.

If the soup proves effective,

then that would confirm he had been fed with wine.

Empress.

Yes, Your Majesty?

Was our imperial son fed wine?

Jing’er is so young,

how could I have allowed him to drink wine?

Besides, the only thing Jing’er drinks all day is the milk provided by the wet nurse.

The wet nurse only eats the best food available.

Where would this wine come from?

Let me ask you this.

Did you secretly drink wine?

Replying to Your Majesty! This servant has been unjustly accused!

Even if I’ve been gifted with 100 guts,

I still would not dare! Your Majesty!

We will find out if you’ve been wrongfully accused in a moment!

Tiny snail,

you’re carrying such a heavy shell on your back.

Aren’t you tired?

You little coward.

Is it worth it hiding in your shell?

Come out and enjoy the cool breeze

and watch the world go by.

It wouldn’t be so bad

if I could be just like you.

I would put down all my burdens

and hide away in my shell.

Your Highness? Your Highness.

When did you start drinking out of that jar of wine?

What did the empress dowager say to you just now?

Your Highness, I don’t think

you should let your relationship with the empress dowager remain at a deadlock.

After all, the Wang Clan is a shadow of its former self now.

You would be much safer if the empress dowager took you under her shelter.

Perhaps you should just forget the past.

Senior Maidservant Xu,

it is easy for you to say,

but human beings always remember what they should forget,

and forget what they should remember.

But I know

what I should be remembering

and what I should be forgetting.

Your Highness.

Drink a cup with me.

All right.

Here.

You all need to move faster.

All right, all right. That’s enough.

Little prince, here. It’s time to take your medicine.

- Little prince. - Little prince.

Here you go. Quickly, quickly.

Not so fast, be careful not to choke him.

Replying to Your Majesty. You will be able to see the results in a short while.

- Well? - Replying to Your Majesty.

The little prince has indeed been fed wine.

But he is not in danger anymore.

- Servants. - Yes, Your Majesty.

Drag her out and flog her to death!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty! I’ve been unjustly accused! Your Majesty, I’ve been unjustly accused!

Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

Your Majesty, I’ve been unjustly accused!

I’ve been unjustly accused!

She committed such a grave offence. Death will not expiate all of her crimes.

Yes, yes, yes. Your Majesty is absolutely right.

Give him to me.

- Imperial Physician Shen. - This subject is present.

Let me ask you this. It is normal for children to cry,

but Jing’er has been crying incessantly from morning till night.

What is the reason for that?

Replying to Your Majesty.

I’ve taken the little prince’s pulse many times,

but I’ve never found any irregularities with the little prince’s health.

It’s just that his constitution is too weak,

or it could be the cause of a congenital deficiency.

As for his incessant crying...

This is just a hasty conjecture I’ve made.

The little prince might be suffering from fright.

What did you say?

He’s suffering from fright?

Yes, Your Majesty.

Senior Maidservant Xu.

Senior Maidservant Xu.

Imperial Guard Pang. Senior Maidservant Xu has gone with Her Highness to the palace.

They are staying at the palace tonight.

Imperial Guard Pang, you can pass me a message if there’s something you need to tell her.

It’s not important. I’ll come by again tomorrow.

Thank you very much, Miss A’Yue.

Enough, enough. Stop crying already.

Isn’t our imperial son all right now?

Empress, if you’re going to continue crying, I will leave.

I will leave and go to another chamber.

Your Majesty, what do you mean by that?

Jing’er has suffered.

As his mother, I feel so so heartbroken for him.

Can’t I shed a few tears for him?

Or is Your Majesty already tired of me

and is looking for an excuse to enjoy yourself with Noble Lady Xin or Noble Lady Zhu or whoever it is?

What do you mean by that?

Look at you! And listen to what you’re saying!

I can smell the jealousy coming from you a mile away.

Which part of you even remotely resembles a motherly model of the nation?

I have already said the things I need to say

I am Emperor

Than

Are you saying I should favour you and you alone?

So what you’re saying is

Do you regret marrying me?

Yes

If Your Majesty had not met with a setback then,

Your Majesty would be just like Prince Yuzhang now,

put Wang Xuan in your palm

and you’d be able to announce to the whole world

This world only has this one women

You-

Nonsense!

Your majesty, Your majesty

Your majesty, Don’t go, Your majesty

I am wrong

I beg you, Don’t go, Your majesty

Your majesty

Empress, What are you doing?

Your majesty

You

Your behaviour has changed dramatically after giving birth to Jing’er.

You’ve become wilful, unreasonable,

and you’re always moaning and complaining.

Go reflect

I just want to go to Zhaoyang Hall.

Because when I go to Zhaoyang Hall

I feel that I came home.

It always felt joyous and harmonious, and cheerful talk could always be heard.

Right now, I can here.

Not Jin’er crying and complaining

It’s you, crying.

I am really tried

Tired

Your majesty

Actually, My heart not only hurts for Jing’er

I am also concerned and worried for Your Majesty.

How have I made you concerned and worried?

Just now, Imperial Physician Shen said that Jing’er has suffered a fright.

Your majesty, You think

Jing’er all day and night has Momo protecting him

Miscellaneous people are not allowed to see him at all.

How could he have suffered a fright?

Empress said right.

How about this. I will summon Lu Ziyun, the Imperial Astronomer, to see me tomorrow.

Come Come in

Uncle Lord

Mother, Uncle Lord came

Uncle Lord

Servant is wrong.

Your Majesty, thank you for being merciful and not killing me.

Zheng Momo, You really are mud-headed

It’s a good thing Jing’er wasn’t harmed.

If he had suffered a mishap,

I wouldn’t even talk about protecting you from the emperor.

I’ll kill you first

If the little prince really was harmed,

Servant

would hardly be able to escape from the blame even if I died ten thousand deaths.

Servant just thinks

if the little prince can be slightly drunk,

then he’d be able to sleep peacefully and stop crying.

If you did not have good intentions,

do you think you would you still be able to sit here and converse with me?

You may rise.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty, the Honest and Loyal Star belongs to the fire element.

It is a harbinger of terrible misfortune.

Are you able to calculate where the Honest and Loyal Star is at the moment?

- This... - Speak, quickly!

This subject is unable to calculate its whereabouts.

But the path of the Honest and Loyal Star these past few years

indicates that its background is lowly

and that it is currently rising meteorically.

Also, the Honest and Loyal Star was previously moving towards the north,

but now it is approaching the Emperor Star. (Known in the West as Polaris.)

It is most probably not in the capital, but it shouldn’t be too far away.

Its background is lowly?

It is currently rising meteorically?

And it was previously moving towards the north?

The emperor has summoned the Imperial Astronomer, Lu Ziyun.

This person was my father’s pupil.

When he was in dire straits, my father showed him great favour.

I have already arranged everything appropriately.

There is only one person

who will fit the description His Majesty is looking for.

I want you to send Helan Zhen a letter.

Tell him the opportune moment soon approaches.

He must watch and wait for his golden opportunity.

He must wait for my message.

If His Majesty decides to get rid of Prince Yuzhang,

then, Your Majesty, why do you still need to conspire with that Helan Zhen?

Didn’t the late emperor wish to kill Prince Yuzhang as well?

This...

This servant is slow-witted.

It is imperative that Prince Yuzhang be gotten rid of.

Your Highness, Tang Jing said, after Helan Zhen returned to Hulan,

those armies that invaded our nation year after year really stopped their transgressions.

If I’d known it were that easy, I would gotten a few more princesses to marry into their kingdom. How wonderful!

This season is when Hulan’s rainfall is the most plentiful.

In the past, when Hulan pillaged the border,

it was usually during the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It is normal

for them to be away at this time.

Tell Tang Jing

that Ningshuo’s defences must not be lowered, not even for a moment.

Yes, Your Highness.

I haven’t gone back to Ningshuo in a long time.

I really miss it.

When the court situation has settled down

and when I’m able to get rid of all my burdens,

I will return to Ningshuo with you lot.

You don’t know how long I’ve waited for you to say those words, Your Highness.

But Your Highness, the Princess Consort has lived in the capital all her life.

Will it truly be possible

for you to move back to Ningshuo with us?

Also, Huai’en has become Count Suyi.

Will he be able to go with us?

Huai’en has just risen in rank and has just been conferred a title. He also has a young and beautiful wife by his side.

You silly fellow, are you being envious and jealous of him?

No! I’m leaving now, Your Highness.

Elder Sister Yuxiu, have you gained weight because of your pregnancy?

Have I gained weight?

You look even better now.

You forgot all about us after getting pregnant. You only returned after such a long time had passed.

How could I have forgotten you? I wanted to return long ago,

but Huai’en hadn’t been away from the capital long

before I found out I was pregnant.

The old nanny in the manor said

that for the first trimester, it was inadvisable to tell people about the pregnancy and to go outside.

I only started coming out after the foetus became more stable.

She keeps calling him, “Huai’en, Huai’en.”

Is General Song aware of your pregnancy?

He is.

Huai’en– He...

He even ordered someone to send a whole bundle of tonics over.

What does it feel like to be pregnant?

All ways hungry and want to eat

But I always throw up, Once I throw up then I’m hungry

It’s quite unbearable.

Yu Xiu wants

Boy or girl?

Boy, girl?

Yu Xiu likes all

Princess Consort,Time to eat medicine

Senior Maidservant Xu

Your Highness, the afternoon meal has already been prepared.

Madam Song, please.

Senior Maidservant Xu, why are you being so formal?

I think you should revert to calling me “Yuxiu.”

Madam Song, please.

Your Highness, what happened to Senior Maidservant Xu?

She’s fine.

I’m sure the baby in your belly is famished.

- Let’s go. - Let’s go.

Your Highness, I almost forgot.

This is the list of medicinal ingredients Huai’en requires.

He needs Your Highness to prepare them urgently.

It looks like the epidemic over there is quite serious.

I want you to take care of it according to Huai’en’s requirements. Prepare the medicinal ingredients for him

and think of a way to expedite their transportation.

I heard the water and land transport in Jiangnan has been cut off.

We must ensure that these medicinal ingredients are sent to Huai’en as soon as possible.

Yes, Your Highness.

Its background is lowly

and has been currently rising meteorically?

It is heading straight for the Emperor Star?

The Imperial Astronomer also said, it was previously heading towards the north,

but now it is approaching the Emperor Star.

It is most probably not in the capital, but it shouldn’t be too far away.

I’m afraid the only official in the entire court

who fits this description is...

What’s the matter?

A great emperor such as yourself is afraid to even say your subordinate-official’s name?

That’s not it.

This matter is of grave importance.

I cannot think of any more ideas.

Empress Mother, please help me make the final decision.

Prince Yuzhang’s foundations did not come from the court

but came from the military instead.

In a month’s time, Your Majesty and the officials will be leaving the palace to go hunting.

While there, an assassin will attempt to assassinate Your Majesty.

Prince Yuzhang will give his life to protect you,

and his good deed will capture the peoples’ imagination and will spread far and wide.

That is an excellent idea.

I have been worried about this.

That it would harm the mother and child.

Being amiable with A’Wu is a good thing.

Look at the situation now

and you still think about her.

I will repeat this again.

Don’t even mention her husband.

She’s blocking your path.

You must get rid of her without any hesitation.

You are right.

You are right. I will remember this.

Who’s there?

It’s me.

Senior Maid Servant Xu.

I heard from A’Yue that you were looking for me last night.

Senior Maid Servant Xu, please take a look.

- This is- - You wanted me to pay more attention to the whereabouts of His Highness.

It’s already in the past. Blame me for not telling you

I misunderstood him previously.

He had his predicament. It was also a good intention.

I have been secretly tracking this for several months but on the other hand, I found out that

he often goes in and out from this courtyard.

The longest is two weeks and the shortest is three to five days.

And he has always dressed casually.

Did you find out who live in this courtyard?

After investigating for a long time, a woman by the name of Dou lives there.

She’s also bringing up two children.

Children?

Did you personally see this?

The first report was from the Secret Guard. I was worried

and personally tracked him.

I swear this is the truth.

Your Majesty, someone delivered a letter to you from outside.

Where’s the person who delivered this?

He left after leaving this letter.

Remember to grab him immediately when you see him next time.

Yes, Your Majesty.

[Su]

Su’er, there’s no defense against the principle of wickedness.

There’s no limit to losing control.

This word “wickedness” is the key to the word “Su.” [T/N : Su means morning]

It must not be written outside the frame.

Take a look.

[Prince Su]

[Prince]

[Su]

You spoke with evidence. I must believe you.

But why would His Highness hide this from Princess Consort

and secretly visit another woman in secret?

Even more so, you said there are two children?

That’s right.

Senior Maid Servant Xu, you are too funny.

Yu Xiu left for several hours

and you are not angry.

- Yu Xiu? - Yes.

She’s too insensible.

Her belly is so big and she still swaggers in the residence.

I should tell her directly not to come here again.

Senior Maid Servant Xu,

I know you dotes on me

and can’t bear to see me suffer.

But you should think carefully.

Yu Xiu is pregnant.

If she doesn’t tell me,

wouldn’t she be estranged from me? Isn’t that so?

I was afraid you would feel sad when you see her.

Even so, I still need to bear with it and face it.

If I just avoid this,

wouldn’t I paint this place as a prison?

Moreover, I have decided not to avoid this again.

Princess Consort, please forgive me.

Did I carelessly hurt you?

Senior Maid Servant Xu, you have been absent-minded

Something must be troubling you.

I don’t dare to hide from you.

Pang Gui came to see me today.

[Dates of visits to the specified location]

Your Highness.

You don’t look well today.

Jing’er cried the whole day and night.

It could be heard at the entire Chao Yang Hall and the side hall.

I couldn’t stop day and night. How could it be fine?

Don’t even talk about His Majesty who doesn’t like to come to Chao Yang Hall now.

If this continues, I will go crazy.

His Majesty is busy with state affairs.

His visits to Chao Yang Hall are getting lesser.

Your Highness, don’t take this to heart.

I think the little prince will get better.

By then, the affections between you and His Majesty

will be like before.

So what?

There are currently many concubines in the palace

and great in numbers.

The old will be replaced by the younger ones.

Your Majesty, come quick.

Noble Lady, slow down.

Your Majesty, come here now.

Your Majesty, chase after me now.

Hurry up.

Your Majesty, look at how beautiful this is.

I can see it.

Your Highness.

Princess Consort, it’s here.

There’s a report from Jiangnan.

The floods in various regions have been settled accordingly.

The flood victims have been resettled accordingly too.

Seems like Prince Jiang Xia’s management of the floods have been fruitful,

Excellent. This is a great start

but we must not be negligent.

The food and money relief issued by the Imperial Court

must be delivered to all regions of Jiangnan as soon as possible

- to help Prince Jiang Xia. - Yes.

Is there anything else?

Nothing else important.

- Then, today- - Great Prince.

Look at mines I see

The Prince

- Is this fun? - Yes.

Uncle Prince

Why are you here?

Why didn’t you tell me?

I-

Madam Dou already told me.

She said you and Older Brother Dou enlisted in the army.

Two people who are like-minded and also, pledged to be sworn brothers.

After his mishap, you adopted his two children.

You shouldn’t hide it form me

I was afraid, You would feel

You think to much

Uncle Prince,I likes this older sister

Princess Consort older sister

You call her older sister?

You call me Uncle.

What?

You should call her Princess Consort Aunty.

Am I that old? What do you like to call me?

Send someone to the palace tomorrow to bring Imperial Physician here.

Yes

Princess Consort, you must not take the risks.

Senior Maid Servant Xu, you are worrying too much.

I merely want to ask if he has any better ways for recuperation.

Then that’s good.

Greeting Prince Yuzhang

Prince Yuzhang.

for sacrifices to heaven and earth and pray for good weather for the crops

country peace

The former emperor had many illnesses. The hunt didn’t take place for many years.

Now that I have ascended the throne, I do not wish to neglect the ancestral tradition.

Prince Yuzhang, what do you think?

I have no objections.

Good.

Then that’s good.

You say you have something to do.

What for?

I wish to resign as an official in the Imperial Court.

Please discharge me.

Prince Yuzhang

You are second only to the emperor in the Imperial Court.

Why do you want to resign?

I’m a general

who should guard the border.

Now that the situation is stable,

it’s time to go back to Ningshuo.

Prince Yuzhang

Are you really willing to hand over the power at the Imperial Court and return to Ningshuo?

Have you thought carefully about this?

Your Majesty, please give your consent.

Does A’Wu know?

Have not told her yet.

This thing is sudden.

Let me think about this for a few days.

I will take my leave.
