but that was exactly what I needed.

When I was a baby, I had a nanny named Lupe.

It was so sad, because here this woman

I used to be so embarrassed of my scar.

When I was in junior lifeguards, I'd dig my foot in the sand

so people wouldn't stare and ask questions.

But, you know, I've come to realize

that my scar only affected my life because I let it.

on it, worried about what other people were thinking.
