Episode 3

In this industry,

Asians are quite discriminated

by white people in labs.

They don't believe that

we can make any contribution in this field.

Do you know how to

deal with the discriminations?

Counterattack.

To prove with deeds

that we are not inferior to them.

No.

To ignore.

Don't argue with a fool.

Cuz they will decrease

your IQ to their level

and defeat you with their rich experiences.

But anyway,

I heard that Miss Su's report

which is about to hand in

is delayed for some reasons.

That's because of me.

I found that some of the data

are not accurate

and she neglected them,

I reported it to Mr. Wang.

Jumping the ranks to report.

It's impolite in both Eastern and Western cultures.

Qiu Jianing.

It's impolite to mess up the right and wrong.

You thought Miss Su was wrong.

You wanted to stand out

and point it out.

But what did you receive?

Neglect.

Desolation.

Humiliation.

You don't have to suffer that.

I didn't suffer.

What's right is right and what's wrong is wrong.

I have to speak out what I see.

This is the principle.

I don't care about other's opinion about me.

But if anyone confuses right and wrong

and humiliates science,

I won't let it go.

Uncle Zha.

I need time to investigate on it.

What do you mean?

Su Qian's report

may be her own standpoint.

Someone has questioned it.

I think this person may be

the sally port for my mission this time.

Zhuzhu,

I want to have a look at

the criteria of cell experiment

and the contents for common reagents.

Do you know where are they?

Let me check if they're in the archives room.

These materials have been lent out.

They are not in the archives room.

Thanks.

Here you are.

You get it.

How do you thank me?

Just make it clear.

I don't want your treat.

Anyway.

Good morning.

Good morning.

Miss Su.

Miss Su, bad news.

What?

Miss Su.

Come on, Jianing.

Are you looking for me?

Take your seat.

What do you want for drink?

No, thanks.

I remember that you like coffee, right?

Thanks.

Jianing.

You've been here for a long time.

You must be familiar about

the environment materials now.

You can make it, Miss Su.

I hope that I can join in

the experiment soon.

As for the experiment,

Zheng Wei is pushing forward the works.

But now the experiment

is about to the end.

If you join in this time,

on the one hand, it's of little use,

On the other hand, you need time

to fit in and it will be of low efficiency.

I suggest you to contact

the clinical test part.

Do I have to contact someone?

Of course the qualified hospitals.

Can you provide me with

any resources or connection, Miss Su?

Well, Jianing.

You can go search by yourself.

And I'll think about it for you.

When I think of anything I'll tell you.

Rest assured.

I believe you can do a good job.

I'll start right now.

Good morning, Mr. Zhou.

Good morning.

Good morning, Xiaoshan.

Good morning.

Good morning.

Well, it smells good.

It smells good.

I think so, too.

Where did you get it?

I just saw it here.

You don't know who it belongs to?

Never mind.

Just have it.

Ran.

Didn't Qiu Jianing come to work today?

She was sent to hospital to negotiate

the clinical test cooperation issue.

Does a researcher in the lab have to do such a thing?

Theoretically she didn't have to.

But she offended her boss.

Think of Qiu Jianing.

I can't tell she's this kind of person.

Academic misconduct.

How can Miss Su permit her in

the experiment in this critical moment.

So, Ran,

so you also think Qiu Jianing is this kind of person?

The fact proved it.

I believe in intuition.

I think she isn't.

What are you talking about?

Qiu Jianing, your teammate.

She was sent to hospital

to negotiate the clinical test issue.

Jianing is alone in Jiangcheng.

She knows nobody here.

It's so cruel for Miss Su

to send her to do this.

Cruel?

Then just resign.

I see.

Miss Su is trying to make her quit.

Hello.

Hello.

I come to Vice President Wu.

What's the matter?

I'm the representative of PLAN O.

The company sent me to talk about

the cooperation with Vice President Wu.

Do you have an appointment?

No appointment.

You need to make an appointment first.

How to make an appointment?

Sorry, it's out of my duty.

Well…

Hey.

Let me write it down.

3 PM, right?

Room 5.

Let me contact the doctor for you.

Miss.

You're still here?

I'm here for Mr. Wu.

OK.

The Book and the Sword.

In The Book and the Sword,

Huo Qingtong's masters

Chen Zhengde and Guan Mingmei.

They are together referred to

Tianshan Double Eagle.

Write it down.

Thanks.

You're welcome.

You're also a lover of Jin Yong's novels?

I've wrote down so much.

One is wrong.

No way.

You wrote Mu Lihua.

It should be Mu Huali.

So the line vertically should be Mei Ruohua.

Right. I forget it.

I was wondering why it didn't work.

Thanks.

You're welcome.

Your phone rings.

Don't you pick up the phone.

Yes.

Hey.

Hey.

You hold it upside down.

Hey.

Mr. Qin.

There's something wrong with the patient.

Please come quickly.

I'll be here right now.

Miss.

I tell you the truth.

Vice President are out

for an academic seminar

these days.

When does he come back?

Sorry.

You don't have an appointment or recommendation.

We can't tell you

his schedule.

Get it.

Well, how about this.

This is our company's materials.

Could you please give it to him when he comes back?

OK.

Thanks.

You're welcome.

It's so risky.

If you're not here on time,

the patient will be in danger.

It's indeed risky.

But anyway the patient is saved.

Take a rest.

Zhao.

What do you think of my appearance recently?

Is my skin good?

Quite attracting.

You've gotten a new lease of life.

Beamish.

Bewildered.

Be…

Befall.

You usually don't care

about your appearance much.

What?

You know what?

I met someone today.

I felt like I was shocked

by ICD.

I think I fell in love.

Are you serious?

You fell in love?

With whom?

Who is this girl?

I don't know.

You fell in love with her without know her?

Have you got the phone number?

No.

WeChat?

No.

Then you lost it.

No, I think there's an opportunity.

I think now that

we can meet once,

I can meet for the second time.

I can know her.

Wish you good luck.

I'm going to bed.

Now.

Where are you going?

To swim.

You haven't been swimming for many years.

Don't get drowned.

Those who are drowned are good at swimming.

Where?

Hello, Jiaxin.

Hello, sister, I've bought the ticket.

Have you been back to A City?

No yet.

There's something delayed.

I need to stay for more time.

Don't lie. I see you.

Hello, sister.

Dr. Qin, what's up?

Where is she?

Who?

There was a lady

sitting here.

Where is she?

Has she left?

Yes.

Is she the new comer?

Do you know where does she work for?

She said…

Hurry up.

I forget it.

Do you know why she's here?

To see a doctor, visit someone

or something else?

She said she want to meet Vice President Wu

to talk about cooperation.

Vice President Wu.

Thanks.

Qiu Jianing, tell me.

What's the matter?

My leader asked me

to come for your vice president and

I was lost when I left.

Qiu Jianing, vice president is not the point.

Aren't you overseas?

Why did you come back?

And your leader.

What's the matter?

It's a long story.

Just take your time.

Tell me.

I'll tell you when I have spare time.

You don't want to tell me?

OK. Sister.

Hello, dad.

I want to tell you…

OK.

Keep it a secret.

There is it.

So I came back.

Sister.

I didn't expect so many things

happened on you.

So I want you to keep the secret.

I don't want dad know it.

It's OK for me to keep the secret.

But, sister…

You have another condition?

You really know me.

Yes.

You won't be Qiu Jiaxin if you don't propose a condition.

Sister.

Can you go to the cafe with me?

What for?

It's not good to go to the café

in working hours.

See.

It's the resting time.

It's OK.

I have to work.

No.

OK.

Qiu Yaoming.

Hey.

I'll go.

I'll go with you.

My boss.

You're so naughty.

Let's go.

Sister, why did you come back

so suddenly without a word?

Your coffee.

Thanks.

Please.

Thanks.

Do you want chocolate?

Sister, don't move.

Let's have a sense of ceremony.

You should have some dessert

and secrete dopamine

to make yourself happy.

And add a small blessing

in the happiness.

It's like a nobility having afternoon tea.

It's OK now.

Here you are.

Sister, let me take a picture for you.

Three, two, one.

Can you take it serious, sister?

The picture is blurred.

You took the picture

so abruptly,

how can I look good in the picture?

Let me tell you how to take the picture.

You should be like this.

This, and…

Be elegant.

Yes.

Come on.

Give me the phone.

What's the time now?

It's almost time, I should go.

Don't go back to company now.

Your leader is mean to

assign such a difficult task to you.

In face of this,

The best way to respond to it is to

finish the task perfectly.

Do you think you're the heroine of TV shows?

If you can't finish the task,

your leader will blame on you.

If you finish the task,

it's icing on the cake.

Do you want to counterattack?

What?

Chocolate and coffee.

A beautiful afternoon.

What are you sending?

Sister.

You have to show it to those who's mean to you.

They assigned the task

but didn't affect you.

On the contrary, you have got some leisure time.

I can't bear it.

Jianing knows how to enjoy the life.

She went for an afternoon tea.

In my opinion.

She went for afternoon tea

and posted pictures in working hours.

It's too much.

Let me have a look.

Bored?

Did you promised to treat us

afternoon tea?

Yes.

We can't have afternoon in working hours.

Then we can have it when off duty.

It's cold.

Look at him.

This iron cock

is so unreliable.

So unreliable.

Jiaxin.

Mr. Qian.

Did your master send you

to buy snacks again?

No, I'm voluntary.

I wish I could have a good student like you.

Just go.

It frightened me.

You're late for half an hour.

You frightened me, master.

I know you're tired

and you must be hungry.

So I bought something for you.

It's too fake. Tell me the truth.

I didn't mean it.

My sister met some difficulties in her work.

I met her in hospital,

so I took her out for a rest.

Your sister.

The female scientist.

Yes.

She just came back from overseas

and was employed in a new company.

The old staffs

are isolating

and bullying her.

Who permit you to sit.

How dare you sit after being late?

Your sister deserves it.

How can you say that?

My sister didn't stir up trouble.

It takes two to make a quarrel.

A science researcher should

focus on study.

Right?

What should my sister do then?

What?

I hate those who intrigue

against each other in the office.

Don't get involved in.

Pay your attention to your work.

Don't be late again.

Leave the stuff.

No.

Miss Su.

Have a look.

What?

Qiu Jianing is so annoying.

She's having afternoon tea.

She's provoking us.

She's too young.

She can't retain her composure.

She's quite happy now

after letting off her anger.

But if Mr. Wang know it.

What will he think of her?

Yes.

I haven't thought of it.

Yiling, have you finished packing?

Yes.

Wait, let's go together.

Miss Qiu's back.

It's off duty.

We go first.

Bye-bye. Bye-bye.

Bye-bye, Miss Qiu.

Bye-bye.

Qiu Jianing. You're back.

How's the negotiation going?

I was refused.

So you went to have afternoon tea?

You saw it?

Though it's not proper to post it

in working hours,

it's quite joyful.

Those who're mean to you

will know that

it didn't affect your mood.

I didn't post it.

Who did it?

It doesn't matter. I've deleted it.

Is it your little sister?

Why do you live in dorm with your home here?

Am I talking too much?

No.

It's just some domestic affairs.

No need to mention.

It's off duty now, aren't you leaving?

My works are not finished.

Take your time then.

What?

You mean Qiu Jianing is interfering?

Yes.

Presently, it's no way to

pass the review in this season.

No way.

You're frightening me.

We only have base salary this year.

If the project bonus can't be sent out

at the end of the year, how can we survive?

We're as worried as you.

But Qiu Jianing

is hard to deal with.

She always shows herself off.

If the project can be advanced successfully,

She'll also be benefited.

Why is she so nitpicky?

Think about this.

If the project is finished.

She will be an entry-level researcher at the most.

But now,

Mr. Wang noticed her.

She's so ambitious.

You mean,

she won't let it go?

Yes.

Take the experiment for an example.

How can you ensure

it 100% correct?

As long as she's here,

the project will never be finished.

Zhuzhu,

Mr. Wang will hold an emergency meeting afternoon.

Have you informed everyone?

I'll do it now.

Is everyone here?

Now let's start the meeting.

Mr. Wang, someone is absent.

Who?

Qiu Jianing.

You go and call her.

I've informed her.

But I don't know why

she's not here.

Maybe here's something that stopped her.

OK. We'll not wait for her.

Let's start the meeting.

Look at the screen.

Hurry up and arrange the works.

The meeting is over.

Let's dismiss.

Mr. Wang, I'm sorry.

I'm late.

Mr. Wang.

I'm late because…

You're an adult.

The pressure of handling interpersonal relationships

always exists in the world of an adult.

Even children have to learn how to live when being in a group.

Do you know what you're like now?

You're like a kid in the junior class of the kindergarten.

You argued with a classmate,

and now you're complaining to your teacher.

What do you want to say?

I'm late cuz something stopped me.

It won't happen next time.

Mind the time next time.

Zheng Wei.

Do you have the meeting record?

No.

Thank you.

Why didn't you tell Mr. Wang the truth?

It's of no use.

Whether I can stay or not

is not up to Mr. Wang.

It's up to myself.

Have you realized?

Zheng Wei is allying others

to isolate you

in order to make you quit.

What she did proves

that the report is not true.

Even if I have to go,

I need to make clear of the fact before I go.

Qiu Jianing,

you don't have evidences.

I don't have now.

But I will.

What's your next plan?

Start again from the beginning.

You're going to make the experiment again?

Yes.

Don't put your phone

on your coat's pocket.

Miss Su.

Now the whole company knows

that Qiu Jianing

makes the year-end bonus gone

and hope she can leave.

But

she is weird today.

She could have explained.

But didn't say a word to Mr. Wang.

She's smart.

If you're Mr. Wang,

What's your first idea

when someone is absent for a meeting

and explained that her colleagues didn't inform her.

Lying.

Making an excuse.

Well, even if Mr. Wang believe it.

Why didn't her colleagues inform her?

Does it mean she's a bad relationship handler?

For us science researcher,

teamwork is the most important.

But Mr. Wang know her background,

he will definitely support her.

She has got the opportunity,

It's up to her

whether she can seize it.

But I have to remind you.

She will not give up

even if you did so.

I just don't buy it.

What else she can do?

At this critical moment,

we shouldn't neglect any factor.

Rest assured, Miss Su.

I have arranged what you have said.

Hello.

I want to get some materials for cell foster.

Write down the

type and number here.

Thanks.

Here you are.

Six orifice?

It's out of storage.

Can you get other substitutes?

And petri dish of 3.5 centimeters?

This is also out of storage.

Of 6 centimeters?

Out of storage?

It's available.

Let me find it for you.

Qiu Jianing

come to get the experiment materials.

What did she want?

She wanted some materials for cell experiment.

Maybe for cell fostering.

But I said they're out of storage according to your command.

Well done.

I'll treat you a meal.

The last one.

Here you are.

Thanks.

How can you be so careless?

It costs a lot.

Such a waste.

Well, it's of no use now.

Pick it up.

It's up to you.

Pick it up.

I don't pick it up.

What can you do to me?

Thanks.

Just go, Qiu Jianing.

Why are you staring at me?

Do you want to hit me?

Let's go.

As a warehouse keeper,

you know the shortage and don't fill it up.

You don't have to be here.

You…

You're really annoying.

Who does she think she is?

How long has she been here?

How can she threaten me?

Calm down. Have a seat.

It's so annoying.

Ugh.

Don't be angry with this person.

Right?

If she reports to Mr. Wang.

Will I be blamed?

We have Miss Su.

Don't be worried.

Did you see it?

She's really crazy.

She just came back from overseas and

knows nothing about personal relationship.

Right?

So,

Qiu Jianing

is a time bomb.

She is a threat to the projects.

We have to think of a way

to let her go by herself so that

Miss Su can advance the project.

Perhaps at the end of the year,

we can get bonus.

Yes.

OK, don't be angry with her.

Where are you going?

Qiu Jianing.

Where are you going?

Let go of me.

Qiu Jianing.

You don't have an evidence to prove

that someone is instigating people to isolate you.

Let go of me.

Hold this for me.

Qiu Jianing.

How can you be so careless?

It costs a lot.

Such a waste.

Well, it's of no use now.

She was expelled by the foreign lab.

Really?

Really.

Why?

The lab posted the announcement.

Academic misconduct.

What do you want to say?

I'm late cuz something stopped me.

It won't happen next time.

The equipment and the funding

are all provided by me.

Without my leadership,

how could your experiment be successful?

Thanks.

Let me hold it for you.

No, thanks.

If you feel tired,

just let it go.

You're not a goddess.

You're just a woman.

Intolerance.

Cliques.

Human is always this kind of creature.

No matter how strong you are,

you can't live isolated from the society.

Do you know Sisyphus?

The poor guy in Greek myth

who is punished and has to push the stone

to the peak again and again.

He is happy.

Cuz he always has a goal

and a motivation.

So he is never at a loss.

I also wanna be this kind of person.

No matter how hard it is,

I'm not afraid of it.

Miss Su.

It's all set.

Without your permission,

Qiu Jianing can't do experiments.

Don't treat it lightly.

She is hard to deal with.

Rest assured.

It won't be a long time

before she leaves by herself.

Hey, Xiaoshan.

Tell me.

Uncle Zha.

Su Qian's researcher Qiu Jianing

questioned Su Qian.

Su Qian's attitude verified my speculation.

What's her attitude?

When the researcher proposed her question,

Su Qian pretended to be serious.

But she asked her staffs

to isolate the researcher

with various ways.

It seems that PLAN O

is just a castle in the air.

Yes.

But it needs someone to verify it.

Obviously you've find this person, right?

Now I've win her trust.

OK.

Hello, sister.

It's so late. What's the matter?

It's all because of you.

The whole company is talking about my post.

It's a good thing.

Good thing?

I was so hurt.

As for the compensation,

I want to you do me a favor.

Tell me.

Your Vice president Wu is about to

attend an academic meeting, right?

Ask about the time and address

and tell me.

This is spying work, sister.

You can make it, Qiu Jiaxin.

Come on.

Hey.

Well…

Qiu Jianing, what are you thinking of every day?

Hello, Jiaxin.

What?

Hello, sister.

You know what?

I admire myself so much.

I'm so clever.

Get to the point.
