Episode 32

The gift is delivered.

I gotta go.

Have some of this, without alcohol.

Come, come, come.

Come here. Come here. Come here.

Come.

All the guests here today

are my friends.

Let me introduce you to each other.

This is a famous architect,

and a talented lady, Du Xiaosu.

Emma.

Her family do car hardware business.

A great beauty.

This is Ningning.

Partner of Dacheng firm.

Wow, this gentleman is

an Internet upstart, Xiaozhi.

Now, half of the famous Internet celebrities

are signed with his company.

I don’t need to say much about her.

Super star. You should have seen her on screens.

Super star. Super star.

Thank you.

Super star, hello.

Miss Du,

I love architects.

Last time, when I was in Dubai on vacation,

there is a building called...

Dancing Towers.

Dancing Towers.

Yes, the Dancing Towers.

I heard that the designer

is also a great beauty.

Is Miss Du the same as her?

Have you participated in the design of many landmark buildings?

Dance... Dancing Towers is the creation of Zaha.

She won the Pritzker Prize.

I think

I’m not comparable to her.

Then Miss Du,

what projects have you been involved in?

Tell us more about it.

I... I just started my own studio.

All small cases.

Oh, small cases.

Miss Du, you are being modest.

Don’t just talk.

Have fun!

Mr. Lin,

why not stand in the light?

You’re the center of attention.

No, I’m not.

I’m here just for company,

and I will leave soon.

Don’t go.

You’re here for fun.

You have to have fun before you go.

Why you are so quiet?

Do I need to talk during dancing?

We haven’t seen each other for a long time.

You don’t have anything to say to me?

I heard you were back to Yutian.

Congratulations!

That’s it?

Nothing else?

Nothing else.

But I have something to say.

Mr. Lin, when you feel unhappy,

drinking hurts you even more.

What makes you unhappy?

Buddy, tell me about it.

How do you know that I’m unhappy?

The feelings in your heart

are all on your face.

Let me guess.

Now that my buddy is back

and you’re still at that position,

you feel a little embarrassed and uncomfortable?

Buddy, you’re thinking too much.

Excuse me for a moment.

Don’t go, Mr. Lin.

You haven’t had enough fun yet.

You need alcohol now.

It’s fun here.

It’s better than going home and drinking alone.

Come on, fill up, fill up.

Xiaosu,

why cannot we just have a nice talk?

I don’t know why.

I think, you and I,

seem to be running out of topics.

Well,

do you think I’m different from before?

Yes.

Don’t you think people behave differently

in different environments?

Maybe what I knew about you was wrong.

Maybe this is where you belong to.

Xiaosu, I know

you may not like this kind of environment.

But you have to get used to it.

No, I don’t have to.

It is quite different from my own life.

You never know.

In the future,

maybe it will become a part of your life.

It has nothing to do with me.

But it has something to do with me.

Don’t you want to

try to get used to it for me?

Lei Yuzheng, you have your own friends.

Look at them.

They all have strong background,

and have been to very famous universities.

They grew up in such kind of environment,

so they feel comfortable to stay here.

But for me,

I have my own life.

Don’t you think

I’m a little different from them?

That’s why I asked Shangguan to invite you here.

I just hope you could come more often to

some of this kind of parties.

Let you get used to it.

Do you think I could really get used to it?

Xiaosu, I know

they may make you uncomfortable.

But once you get to know them,

they’re not really so bad.

You shouldn’t be biased to them.

Biased?

You think that I cannot get along with your friends,

just because I have bias against them?

It seems that our perceptions on this

are still different.

Xiaosu,

I didn’t mean that.

Lei Yuzheng,

to your friends, I don’t need to

prove anything.

Perhaps, for the relationship between us before,

I have misunderstanding on it.

Just take it as a dream.

Do you think everything we’ve

been through is a dream?

Everyone would be vulnerable sometimes.

You were in a different situation back then.

Maybe

you just needed someone to rely on.

So that’s how you think of me.

In your mind,

I’m just a guy who needs comfort when in trouble.

And when everything is getting better, I will give you up?

Am I such kind of heartless guy in your mind?

It seems today is not a good day

for us to talk about this.

I’d rather not talk,

lest it spoils your mood.

Xiaosu.

Everyone would be vulnerable sometimes.

You were in a different situation back then.

Maybe

you just needed someone to rely on.

Tired?

You cannot drive after drinking.

Let me drive for you.

Thank you.

Xu You, you must be tired too.

What about not going back tonight?

What do you mean?

I just said,

you could stay at my place for the night.

Drive faster.

Have a seat, please.

Where are you going?

To change.

As a private investigator,

there is nothing wrong with this professional vigilance.

But I don’t think

Lin Xiangyuan and Xie Li will do this.

Because they don’t have the guts to do this.

Mr. Lei, if you want to get it clearly, it is not hard.

But have you ever thought of the consequences?

If because of our investigation,

your situation becomes more difficult.

I hope you won’t blame us.

I have to reassess my opponent.

Xu You,

I’m out for exercises and will be back soon.

(Lei Yuzheng)

(Du Xiaosu)

Xiaosu, this is Xu You.

You’re done exercising?

It’s going to rain outside.

Have a good rest tonight.

Where shall I sleep?

Yuzheng,

Miss Xu’s room

is ready.

Go get some sleep.

Your phone rang just now.

I’m afraid it is something urgent, so I answered it.

Mr. Lei, it’s me.

I have something you want.

Come to me right away.

I’m afraid a long delay may cause trouble.

I will send you the location to your phone.

Ok.

Any progress?

There is some progress.

We’re still following up.

Any more information,

just call me.

Sure.

Do you know me?

Why are you following me?

We work for someone.

Don’t worry.

As long as you give us what you have,

we will not hurt you.

I don’t know you,

and you don’t know me, either.

Who are you following me?

For money? I can understand.

Take a man’s money to avert his misfortune.

But you have to think about it.

Persons like you

should have real skills.

You can have a try.

Sorry.

Here you are.

But...

It’s ok. It’s just a scratch.

Talk.

Who made you follow me?

No talking?

Believe it or not, I’ll break your arm.

You’re afraid to say it out loud.

Go back and tell your boss.

If there is anything,

come to me directly.

Don’t use such dirty tricks.

Go.

(Calling 18931240079...)

(Calling Liu Siyang)

Liu Siyang, where are you?

Go to my place.

Now!

Yuzheng, you are finally back.

I’m really worried about you in such a heavy rain.

Uncle Duan, is Siyang here?

Siyang is here, waiting for you in the room.

By the way, Uncle Duan.

Did a stranger

call just now?

No. What happened?

Nothing.

Uncle Duan, I have something to discuss with you.

It has been a long time

since you went back to your hometown last time.

Why don’t you go back to your hometown for a while?

You’re right.

Your father passed away, and you grew up.

Uncle Duan is getting older and older.

It is time to go back to hometown.

Uncle Duan, you misunderstood.

What are you talking about?

I mean

you can go back to hometown and have a rest for a while.

I’ll pick you up later.

How can I let you go?

I have to take care of you.

Really?

Of course.

Ok, I will do as you said.

Please pack your bags tomorrow.

I’ll ask Qunfei to buy the ticket for you.

Take you to the airport. Sounds good?

Ok, go.

Siyang is waiting for you.

I will prepare you two some snacks.

Don’t bother, Uncle Duan.

You can go to bed for rest.

Yuzheng.

have you seen the stock of Yutian these days?

What happened?

These days, the stock of Yutian

has gone up so weirdly.

The stock of Yutian rose, while the whole market was falling.

Siyang, have a look at this.

That’s all they found.

Tomorrow, please check

all these accounts.

According to their report,

during that period, all these accounts

transferred a large amount of money

to buy Yutian’s stocks.

(Insurance agencies won’t sell stocks in large amount by the end of the year)

Yuzheng, check out this report.

Was it the date that Yutian and S.G

signed the contract?

(Exclusive Reveal. Saturday December 17, 2016)

Yes, it is.

Then, it is obvious.

The person who gave you the information

must have known there was something wrong with the reporter who wrote it,

and made a copy of it.

So this reporter, Li Lu, (Reporter: Li Lu)

before...

He knew everything.

Someone inside Yutian leaked the news.

On the same day, the report was published.

Right.

It’s absolutely not a coincidence.

We have to find this reporter,

and ask him about it.

Maybe

we can find out who did this.

Leave it to me.

You’re too exposed.

Besides, there is someone following you.

At this time, you must not alert the enemy.

Take care.

Sure.

Hello.

Hello.

I really appreciate reporter Li’s talent.

I hope to get him to give an interview to our boss.

I am so sorry.

Li Lu resigned.

Resigned?

When?

Around one year ago.

He was in such a hurry.

He quit in the morning,

and packed up and left in the afternoon.

Do you know where did he go?

I don’t know.

By the way,

Chief Editor,

can you please take a look at this?

(Insurance agencies won’t sell stocks in large amount by the end of the year)

This is our newspaper.

This report was written by Li Lu, right?

Yes, what’s wrong?

You are so experienced in media.

Please look at this report of Yutian.

It was issued on the date of Yutian’s information leakage case.

The case hasn’t been made public.

How did he know about it?

Well, you’re an outsider.

If everything our reporters reported

was after it has been made public,

wouldn’t we be worthless?

Do you have Li Lu’s home address?

Yes.

But you may not find him.

Why?

He is from Guizhou. In Shanghai, he has no apartment.

He has been renting.

Who knows where he’s moving to now?

From Guizhou.

So you have the address on his ID?

Excuse me, do you have anyone

named Li Lu here?

Li Lu resigned a year ago.

He also moved.

No one knows where he is now.

One year ago.

That means he resigned as soon as the report was published.

Yes, that means he’s afraid of being found out.

He was pretty sure

that someone is bound to find him.

So he hid.

By the way,

have you heard from the person who gave you the information?

What happened?

It is my fault.

I didn’t expect it so complicated.

Our investigation must have threatened

the interests of the opponent.

So...

They are putting all their eggs in one basket.

Lin Xiangyuan is so cruel and merciless.

Maybe it is not Lin Xiangyuan.

He certainly didn’t want me to go back to Yutian.

But he should not be that kind of crazy.

Oh,

have a look at

these investment accounts.

I have investigated.

Before Li Lu reported it,

that is when Yutian and S.G signed the contract,

all these accounts

kept buying large amount of Yutian’s stock.

When did they sell the stock?

That’s so weird.

They didn’t sell.

It is a large amount of money.

Even with profits, they did not sell.

What were they thinking of?

They didn’t care about the profits.

Siyang,

use all your resources,

and help me investigate all these accounts’

sources.

I will call Shangguan,

and ask him to help find Li Lu.

You focus on investigating these accounts.

Mr. Lin, according to our market research,

the financial budget of this year

is good.

So marketing department

hopes to add two more projects.

We want to initial a plan.

So, we hope, next year,

with the financial budget,

we can increase a bit.

Hope Mr. Lin will consider it.

Hello.

Mr. Lin?

Hello.

Here you are.

Nice to meet you.

Thank you for meeting me in person.

Ok. You go back to your work and close the door for me.

Mr. Yu, I overheard a piece of news.

To be precise,

Yutian will cooperate with an oversea company, S.G.

What kind of project?

Yutian Universal Entertainment Center.

Please.

Let me tell you.

We are going to acquire Yutian.

What? Acquire Yutian?

Mr. Lin, don’t be surprised.

It is just a business activity.

No. Do you know the consequences?

Consequences?

The consequences would be that we will restructure Yutian

for listing again, separately.

Well...

Mr. Lin, do you have any suggestion?

It’s too hard for me.

I’m working for Yutian.

We have considered that.

If the acquisition is successful,

we will continue to employ you

as the CEO of Yutian.

But

Mr. Lin has to cooperate with us and support our acquisition.

Support?

How can I support?

Betray Yutian for the benefits of others?

How am I going to survive in the field?

Now, I have to say,

for this kind of immoral behavior,

I cannot do it.

At this moment, you said no.

Don’t you think it is too late?

It’s all because of you.

Lei Yuzheng is investigating.

We’ve been cleaning up everything for you.

What did I do? What do you need to help me clean up?

You didn’t know what you did?

You should be very clear.

Now, I tell you.

In a few days, we will formally submit to the CSRC

the acquisition plan of Yutian.

Yutian will also be formally notified.

I made this call today,

just because we are on the same side.

As for whether you support us or not,

it’s up to you, ok?

I need your promise.

Do you believe in my promise?

You are highly respected and creditable.

I believe you, so I told you this.

I believe that you will not do anything to Yutian.

Let me tell you.

We are going to acquire Yutian.

Come and have some tea.

Yuzheng,

at this time, you are still in the mood for tea?

I’m worried about you.

Worrying is useless.

What we need most now is to calm down.

Now, the key is that

we don’t even know what our opponent is planning

or even who the opponent is.

How can we win this game?

Oh, there’s one thing weird.

Do you remember what I told you before?

They only bought the stock, but they didn’t sell it.

That is to say,

when Yutian stock rose,

they did not sell.

But during the period you were in prison,

Yutian’s stock fell to the bottom,

and they secretly bought a large number of Yutian’s stocks.

You mean

they didn’t use the internal information

to make easy money,

but to keep buying Yutian stocks instead.

You’re right.

Siyang.

Acquire.

Acquire what?

Acquire Yutian.

If I’m right,

the ultimate goal of them

is to acquire Yutian.

(Xie Li)

Mr. Lin, I got information that

Lei Yuzheng was being followed yesterday,

and almost had a car accident.

Got it.

Come in please.

Mr. Lin, your package.

Thank you.

(Statement of Customer Transaction Details)

(Deposit in: 1 Million yuan)

What do you want?

Mr. Lin,

it seems you have received it.

You deserve it.

Didn’t we make a deal?

I cannot remember what I have promised.

It is only part of it.

Not enough?

Yes, I should be responsible for that.

But I didn’t expect you’d do it.

And I never expected that Lei Yuzheng would go to prison.

I never thought of betraying Yutian.

Mr. Lin,

you are being nice now?

I’m telling you it is too late.

If Lei Yuzheng finds out anything,

we’re gonna have a big problem, and so are you.

Mr. Lin,

we kept helping you.

If you can cooperate,

we will not only keep you safe,

but also, when it is done...

What the hell do you want me to do?

You just need to check how Lei Yuzheng

deals with the acquisition,

and tell me every move that Lei Yuzheng makes.

Just keep us informed.

What if I don’t agree?

You are smart.

About what the consequence would be,

you should be clear.

Mr. Lin, you are back.

Where is Fanlu?

Fanlu has been upstairs all day.

Didn’t come down?

What are you doing?

Go away.

Please don’t torture yourself.

Get out of here.

What do you want?

(Shangguan’s calling)

Buddy, I have found Li Lu’s girlfriend.

Her name is Wang Mian.

Great!

Please send me the photo and address of Wang Mian.

Shangguan,

she should be off work soon.

Is the information correct?

Should be here.

Wait a little bit.

Buddy, look, it’s that her?

Shangguan, go and get the car.

What are you doing?

Recently, has anyone been here

to ask you about Li Lu?

I don’t know what you are talking about.

Listen.

In the future, if anyone asks you about Li Lu,

you should just say he’s dead.

You’re the one who’s dead!

Why should I listen to you?

Be smart. Be wise.

Otherwise, I’ll deal with you.

What are you doing? Let me go.

Let her go. Follow me.

Help.

Go.

How is it?

Run.

Buddy, let me take you to the hospital.

No, take me home.

Where is Wang Mian?

Run away.

What kind of people are they?

Even with knives.

Are they sent by Xie Li and Lin Xiangyuan?

They are too bold.

Wang Mian ran away.

After such a scare,

it will be harder to find her.

We have to find her.

Through her, we can find Li Lu.

Otherwise, we cannot have any progress.

We are trying to find her, so are they.

I’m just afraid they are too desperate,

and do cruel things.

Based on what they did,

they’re not going to give up.

As long as we keep investigating,

they will attack not only Wang Mian

but perhaps others.

So, you’re worried about Du Xiaosu?

I said “others”.

(Lei Yuzheng How are you doing?)

What are you doing?

Stay here alone.

Are you thinking about Lei Yuzheng?

No.

What are you talking about?

Xiaosu,

based on my years of love experience,

you have three choices now.

What are they?

The first one, break up.

Completely remove Lei Yuzheng from your mind.

Forget him.

Then find a more handsome and richer guy.

Make him angry and regret.

The second one.

You need to be proactive and get him.

The third one.

For the third one...

Same as you are now.

Stay here with a look of sorrow on your face and keep waiting.

Go to hell!

I’m sorry.

I’m late. It’s the traffic jam.

It’s ok. I just arrived.

Thank you.

For me?

Thank you.

What’s wrong with you today?

So gentle.

I am always so gentle.

I think you’re being weird today.

Invite me for dinner.

Give me flowers.

Is there anything needing my help?

I just want to be a nice person in your mind.

It’s that hard?

I just want to invite you for dinner.

Ok. Take a look.

What do you want?

Help yourself please.

Of course, I will.

Qunfei,

why are you being so nice today?

Suddenly, invite us for dinner.

Why cannot I invite you for dinner?

I’m in a good mood today.

So...

I want everyone to get together for dinner.

You just want to be with Siqi, right?

I don’t want to be the third wheel between you two.

No.

I really want us to have dinner together.

Just a gathering.

Xiaosu,

you think too much this time.

Qunfei really wants to invite you for dinner this time.

I’m really just for company.

Ok, no problem.

Only if you two

don’t mind I’m a third wheel.

Fine.

Stop talking and eat.

Ok. Ok. We will arrive very soon,

Go.

Go.

-Where? -Over here.

What do you think?

The view is quite nice.

He Qunfei,

it must be expensive here, right?

Of course.

How can you be so generous?

What do you mean?

I’m not mean at all.

You treat Siqi so generous.

But to me, you are so mean.
