Where is my daughter?

I don't know your daughter.

Tell me, where is she?

I don't know your daughter!

Her name is Song Xiaodong.

Say you don't know her one more time,

and I' chop your finger off.

Song Xiaodong?

Huo Youze,

I know what you did at the hospital.

Mozart, what's wrong?

Stop running, wait.

Stop barking, Mozart.

Police?

There's a guy in my house

with a knife!

Brother, everything okay?

Brother?

[Lover or Stranger Ep17]

Seriously, we don't need any more waitresses here.

It's not that common for us

to have a crowded place.

Madam, please let us stay.

I'm prepared for all kinds of chores,

doing the dishes, dumping that garbage,

you name it.

I'm good at doing the dishes.

Exactly, look how great she is.

Madam, please.

I really do not need more waitresses.

Look, this is my doctor's license.

Why is your girlfriend trying to find a job like this?

In fact,

she is doing this for her younger sister.

Her sister was taken at a young age.

They couldn't find her until last year.

But for some reason,

she lost her memories.

and didn't recognise her elder sister.

Poor thing.

I understand it myself yesterday.

But today,

the moment I stepped into your place,

I finally knew.

When my girlfriend was little,

her family used to run a barbecue restaurant.

She brought her younger sister here

to find her memories.

That's no easy task.

Tell me about it.

Since we just found her sister,

her ID hasn't arrived.

That's why

we didn't bring her ID.

Also, you don't need to

actually pay her.

Whatever you pay her, I'll pay you back.

That's an inappropriate thing to say.

She is so smart and diligent,

I think hiring her won't be a mistake.

How about this?

I'll treat her as a formal employee.

You can leave them to me.

Thank you so much, madam.

You're being too polite.

Dong,

why are you still standing here?

Thank you, madam.

It's nothing,

nothing.

When did you last leave your house?

I don't remember.

When you left the house,

was anyone in the house?

There was a dog.

Why do you think

he was after you?

Do you have any kind of an assumption

about this?

No.

Did he say anything to you?

I can't remember.

He didn't say anything?

I'm sorry, I don't feel so well now.

My head is still dizzy.

If I recall anything,

I'll get in touch, okay?

You do have surveillance here, right?

Mind if we take a look?

It's just a prop.

It hasn't been working for a long time.

Mr. Huo, I would love you

to provide us some evidence.

We're worried that due to some news about you,

people would be resentful.

This might pose a threat to you

and your family.

I won't worry about that.

If I recall something,

I'll come to you.

Search your memory.

Has anyone suspicious

appeared in this neighbourhood

recently?

I really can't remember.

Where is my daughter?

I don't know your daughter.

Song Xiaodong.

Say you don't know her again

and I'll cur your fingers off.

Miss. Sun, what do you need?

Send someone from the security department

to guard Mr. Huo's house.

Also, send someone to look into this.

Roger that.

I think it is Mr. Huo that I asked for.

Yes, and I'm his representative.

He is sick thus couldn't be here.

So, you are...

The vice president of the company.

Mr. Huo sends me full powers to act in his name.

Be assured,

Mr. Huo and I have been friends for over a decade.

You can tell me everything.

Of course.

But I have some questions

that I'd like to ask Mr. Huo himself.

I can deliver the message.

Rumour has it that there was an intruder in Mr. Huo's house.

Is he all right?

Everything's fine, no need to worry.

I mean,

I know the intruder.

What do you know?

Didn't Mr. Huo tell you

why that intruder was after him?

Maybe I should talk to Mr. Huo

when he's feeling better.

If he gave you full powers to act in his name,

you are allowed to be there when I talk to him.

But Mr. Huo has

made it clear, hasn't he?

Fine then.

I'll let Youze talk to you next time.

Excellent.

Here.

Thank you.

Smells good.

Is it enough for you?

I bought this with my salary for today.

Have some more.

It's delicious.

Is it?

This is good enough for you?

It should be easy to feed you.

Why do we need others to feed us?

We can totally depend on ourselves, right?

Speaking of which,

I really need to thank you.

Tell me, what do you want? I'll cook it for you.

I dare not to.

Can I have a try?

These are life-saving hands.

Right,

I almost forgot.

That was so reckless of you.

You can't start with asking the boss

to hire you both.

You already are enough trouble.

You're lucky that they took you in.

What if she gets upset

and kicks you out?

Of course I'm...

scared of that.

But I can't leave her alone.

Anyway,

we starve together or we eat together.

I'll go check it out.

Have some more.

Why did you build a tent here?

I live in that tent.

So, you two don't live...

I crash at his place.

What about you?

Where do you live?

That's my secret.

Take your time.

What are you doing?

Meizi, come here.

Sit.

What do you think?

I don't know whether it'll fit.

It's for you. Here.

How do I look?

You remind me of my sister.

You mean that Xiaodong?

We

were from Asahikawa.

We used to follow our dad

and he would provide us food.

In exchange, we help him

with his business.

I get it.

Right,

my sister was so good.

She was always there for me.

One time...

Mind your own business.

I'll kick you out of this neighbourhood!

You are the one who robbed.

How dare you, I will...

How many times have I told you?

Don't make a scene and don't fight!

Don't make a scene and don't fight!

Since we are all Chinese,

I won't punish you.

But please try to put yourself in my shoes.

Stop laughing!

I know you are two good gals.

Let's behave ourselves, shall we?

Uncle,

just zip it.

We don't get a chance to behave ourselves.

Should we go the college,

become a lawyer,

or become a doctor?

You...

Shut up, uncle.

Her words.

Yours.

I'm so mad at you.

He said he is mad at you.

He was talking about you, silly.

All of it!

Please don't do this.

I'm begging you. Please don't do this.

Just give us the money next time.

So much for such a small shop.

Ouch!

What's the matter with you, are you blind?

Sorry.

What if you bump into an old lady?

I'm so sorry.

Brat.

I'm so sorry.

So sorry.

So rude.

That's all.

Give it.

Can I keep some?

All.

Let's go.

But she is gone.

She went missing in the avalanche.

They still haven't found anything.

Meizi,

what brought you here?

My dad got himself in trouble.

He couldn't stay in Japan anymore.

So, he brought me here.

It's getting late.

I'll give you a ride home.

It's fine, I can go home myself.

It's not far from here anyway.

I'll see myself out.

Thank you for the jacket.

Right, sister,

do you have more food?

Leftover is fine.

Wait here.

Here, take these.

That's all I can offer.

Thank you.

Meizi, wait.

Take it.

I'll see you tomorrow. It's a deal.

See you tomorrow.

Xiaodong,

that Mr. Feng she mentioned,

I think he is the one who visited me before.

Why didn't ask her?

What should I say?

Should I tell her I'm Song Xiaodong?

Do you think she would believe me?

Dad, I kind of found a job today.

That should lighten the burden a little bit.

How much can you make?

Dad, when can we return to Japan?

Our fake visas have been expired for a long time.

Bear with me, things will get better soon.

Will we have more money?

I'm working on it.

I think we can get some.

Actually, a lot.

Really?

Remember,

don't tell anyone about this place.

I know.

Go to sleep.

Coming.

Welcome.

Two guests, right?

This way.

This is our specialty, you can try it.

Okay.

Be careful.

Your meat is ready.

Here.

Thank you.

Call me if you need anything.

Will do.

Don't do that anymore

from now on.

If I don't bring some money home,

my dad would kill me.

Why are you being so obedient?

What if he sends you to kill someone?

Xiaodong is gone.

My dad is the only family

that I have.

Were you this obedient

when Xiaodong was still alive?

I wasn't.

Xiaodong used to argue with him.

Speaking of which, you remind me of her.

I mean, your personalities.

How about this?

You can consider me as your sister,

deal?

Thank you for being so nice to me.

But

maybe I won't stay here for long.

I'm not sure when will I leave.

Hurry up.

You, upstairs.

You, to the left.

You, follow me inside.

See you.

Bye.

Allow me to borrow your hat.

Where is she?

We've been waiting for some time.

Are you sure this is the place?

You seem distracted.

I'm worried about Meizi.

What about her?

It's just,

after hearing about Meizi's dad,

I don't want to meet him at all.

Theoretically, he is your father.

So smart of you.

The problem is,

I don't feel the same way

as I did when I met Meizi.

Why is that?

I just don't know.

Meizi?

Meizi?

Come on in.

Where have you been? What happened?

I have nowhere else to go

and I don't know anybody here.

Your dad is missing?

I went to look for him

and saw these strange guys

around my home.

My dad is missing.

I don't know where should I go.

Did he get himself into trouble?

I don't know.

But that does sound like him.

Should we call the police?

Definitely no.

Why won't you

go to the police?

I just don't like that idea.

She doesn't have an ID.

After you call the police,

what if she gets deported?

Let me talk to her in private.

I'll be working.

Don't worry,

we still don't know what happened.

I'm used to this.

He should've been dead long ago.

But he is tougher than a cockroach.

This used to happen to Xiaodong and me

every fortnight.

Whenever we saw that raining mark,

Xiaodong would take me

to hide for a couple of days.

Raining mark?

We use that to send a message.

It means danger.

That's what dad told us.

You haven't had any food, have you?

I'll cook you something.

You have some rest.

Meizi, what do you want, Meizi?

I want rice.

Sure, do you want an egg with your rice?

Of course.

I can cook anything for Meizi.

I'll be there to protect Meizi.

Meizi.

Meizi, get up and have some food.

It's done.

Eat.

It smells good.

Done.

I'm drooling.

Enjoy.

You eat like this too?

I just felt that

this should comfort you.

Hope you like it.

Meizi,

trust me.

I'm here for you.

I'll do anything for you.

I'll be there to protect you.

I was taken when I was little,

I grew up with my dad and Xiaodong.

But Xiaodong is gone.

She went missing in the avalanche.

They still haven't found anything.

Why are you smiling?

This just feels right.

Me...

Nothing.

Goodnight.

You will feel much better tomorrow morning.

It feels like my sister is next to me.

Meizi,

time to get up.

Come on, up.

I haven't slept like this for a long time.

When is the last time?

The scent in your room

reminds me of my childhood.

Get up.

Breakfast is here.

Wash up and have breakfast.

I heard

that someone broke into Huo Youze's house.

They even called the police.

You two should pay

extra attention.

She is Huo Youze's fiance.

That girl in the dress.

Dad, why her?

That's not your business.

Bear with me,

things will get better soon.

Will we have more money?

I'm working on it.

I think we can some.

Actually, a lot.

Sis, I need to go to the bathroom.

I'll call Mr. Feng later.

Meizi?

Meizi?

Meizi?

Meizi!

Meizi!

Where are you going?

Meizi!

Meizi!

Meizi!

Meizi, wait!

Meizi, there's something I want to tell you, Meizi!

Meizi, wait!

Meizi, Meizi, Mei...

Why did my dad break into that man's house?

You are his fiance, right?

You mean, it was your dad who broke into

Huo Youze's house?

Answer my question!

Why is my dad after you?

Meizi,

I think I'm Song Xiaodong.

Can't you feel it?

Impossible!

Xiaodong is dead.

My dad said that she died in the avalanche.

True.

But so many things have happened.

I just can't

explain everything to you right now.

I, I was saved up in that mountain.

They considered me someone else.

They performed surgery on my face

and this is how I look now.

It's true.

But

based on your description

and what I do remember,

I do think I'm Song Xiaodong.

Then tell me,

who is Zhang Yang?

Zhang Yang?

I lost my memories.

There's still a lot that I don't remember.

But you have to believe me.

It's true.

I knew it.

Meizi!

Back off!

Meizi!
