[Episode 43]

You should rest here.

I'll see what's going on.

It's no use.

Stop searching.

They locked us up here.

There's no way out.

Don't waste your energy.

It's no use.

Hey.

Stop wasting your energy.

Tell me.

Do you think I'll die here?

If that's the case,

will you be upset?

I'm asking you a question.

If I die here,

will you be upset?

What nonsense are you talking about?

We can't get out of here anyway.

Why are you being so serious?

Since we're not going anywhere,

why don't you and I have a chat?

If I'm about to die,

I have something to ask you.

Are you happy when you're with me?

When I'm with you,

I'm always happy.

I always try to cheer you up.

But I know

that you've never been genuinely happy.

Hey.

Let me ask you.

Have you ever liked me?

Even if it's only a little.

Just a little is good enough.

Stop talking.

Save some energy.

You're such a dull person.

How boring.

How boring.

Buddy, we didn't see anyone here.

What about you?

Did you find any clues?

No, sir.

What about you?

No, sir.

-Okay, let's go. -Yes.

Hello?

Okay.

Okay, I understand.

Captain Rong, how is it going?

There's still no news about them.

Also,

the Spectre they caught

isn't the actual guy.

That Spectre was a fake?

Yes.

Country R's police have verified his identity.

Not this again.

He always hides behind his imposter

and lets him do all the negotiations.

But if our undercover agents' cover is blown,

we'll be in big trouble.

So we can only sit around and wait?

["The Place Farthest Away" playing]

♫ Against the light ♫

♫ Your vague silhouette ♫

♫ I reach out with my hands ♫

♫ But my hug passes through you ♫

♫ Maybe this is an illusion ♫

Let's talk about her.

♫ A sweet dream ♫

Talk about who?

♫ Waiting for you ♫

♫ To notice it and wake me up ♫

The one you hold dear.

♫ I wonder if getting close to you ♫

♫ One swirl will light up the stars ♫

Is she pretty?

♫ I wonder if someone will tell you for me ♫

How is her personality?

Is she prettier than me?

♫ At the place farthest away ♫

♫ Only then will the kites roam freely ♫

♫ If I gaze relentlessly ♫

♫ I wonder if there will be starlight ♫

♫ If the falling fireworks ♫

Are we alike?

♫ Give me the sadness of being lonely ♫

♫ If your gaze gives me ♫

♫ A sense of direction ♫

♫ I'll give you an answer too ♫

Forget it.

If you don't want to talk about the past,

let's talk about the future then.

♫ Looking at your turbulent silence ♫

♫ I really hope you can understand ♫

What do you want to do in the future?

If I make it out of here alive,

♫ So I remain extremely quiet and gentle ♫

I want to get the mission done quickly.

♫ Waiting for you to kiss my forehead ♫

I want to truly live my life.

♫ It seems you're in front of me ♫

♫ Like the four seasons in my heart ♫

I want to say what I want to.

♫ Gentle and heart-wrenching ♫

♫ What can I say? ♫

I want to do what needs to be done.

♫ At the place farthest away ♫

♫ Only then will the kites roam freely ♫

I don't want to lie anymore.

♫ If I gaze relentlessly ♫

♫ I wonder if there will be starlight ♫

♫ If the falling fireworks ♫

♫ Give me the sadness of being lonely ♫

♫ If your gaze gives me ♫

♫ A sense of direction ♫

♫ I'll give you an answer too ♫

I want to be myself.

♫ Even after the stars have changed ♫

Do you think

♫ I hope you'll still recognize me among the stars ♫

it's possible?

You can definitely do it.

♫ At the place farthest away ♫

My prediction is usually accurate.

♫ I want to wander around with you ♫

♫ Going against the wind, I fly with you ♫

♫ To embrace the starlight ♫

♫ Standing on your spot ♫

♫ Only then will I forget the faraway place ♫

♫ Only your gaze ♫

♫ Can give me acknowledgment ♫

♫ Can give me an answer ♫

Why is it getting cold?

Kexin.

Stay awake.

I'm sleepy.

Don't fall asleep no matter what.

Hang in there.

Let me take a nap.

Don't fall asleep!

"To choose a bird or a shedding leaf."

["The Most Romantic Oblivion" playing]

To choose a rock or a speck of dust.

"Those who have made a choice

out of no choice..."

"They are the chosen ones.

[Everyone has a nameless heart.]

♫ It's pouring ♫

♫ The cat is looking at you from the lonely window ♫

Every heart has a lonely time,

♫ In those eyes ♫

♫ There are disappointment and memory ♫

even if we have chosen a lonely world."

♫ It's away from you ♫

"We will always..."

♫ Half a teardrop away ♫

"Hear each other's songs."

♫ So much intimacy ♫

"Each other's song."

♫ Is being remembered ♫

♫ You that I love ♫

♫ Seem to melt in my night ♫

Who are you?

How do you know that poem?

♫ The pain becomes a sigh ♫

♫ Carved onto the pillows as tears ♫

Hold me tight.

♫ I miss you ♫

♫ You stay silent in my breath ♫

Hold me tight.

♫ Lie with me as you fall asleep ♫

Don't fall asleep.

♫ Until I wake up from my dream ♫

Stay awake!

♫ The most romantic oblivion ♫

♫ Is to grow old together ♫

♫ The longest love ♫

Is anyone there?

♫ Is not to be heard from ♫

Open the door!

♫ I still don't want to believe ♫

♫ So I won't give up ♫

♫ So I cry under the fireworks ♫

Is anyone there?

Open up!

♫ So I'm afraid to be reminded ♫

"In silence, the direction is chosen.

A star or a pair of eyes.

♫ That I miss you ♫

It is how men choose the world

that affects how the world chooses men.

Quietly, the origin is chosen.

[Proudly, the path of return is set.]

In the darkness, those that came from dawn are chosen.

At dawn, he is chosen

as the wind of freedom.

♫ You that I love ♫

[To choose a bird or a shedding leaf.]

♫ Seem to melt in my night ♫

To choose a rock or a speck of dust.

♫ The pain becomes a sigh ♫

[Those who have made a choice out of no choice]

♫ Carved onto the pillows as tears ♫

are the chosen ones.

♫ I miss you ♫

Everyone has a nameless heart.

♫ You stay silent in my breath ♫

Every heart has a lonely time.

♫ Lie with me as you fall asleep ♫

Even if we have chosen a lonely world.

♫ Until I wake up from my dream ♫

We will always hear each other's songs."

♫ The most romantic oblivion ♫

♫ Is to grow old together ♫

♫ The longest love ♫

Rong Yu.

♫ Is not to be heard from ♫

I promise.

♫ I still don't want to believe ♫

In this life,

I'll take good care of you.

♫ So I won't give up ♫

[I will always be by your side.]

♫ So I cry under the fireworks ♫

[No matter what happens,]

♫ So I'm afraid to be reminded ♫

[you will always be]

♫ That I miss you ♫

[the only one I love.]

Will you marry me?

♫ Maybe I'm still in love ♫

Yes.

♫ I'm still moved by your words ♫

♫ I'm still holding your letters ♫

♫ Until my thoughts turn to ashes ♫

♫ Tears become shooting stars ♫

♫ To prove the greatness of love ♫

♫ The most romantic oblivion ♫

♫ Is to live the way you live ♫

[Open the door!]

♫ The longest love ♫

Is anyone there?

Open the door!

♫ Is when things remain unchanged ♫

♫ I'm still waiting for you ♫

Open the door!

♫ So don't worry ♫

♫ So you become a secret ♫

♫ So I try to be happy ♫

Open the door!

♫ Because of you ♫

Open the door!

Open the door!

♫ So I'm afraid to be reminded ♫

♫ That I miss you ♫

Open the door!

Is anyone there?

["Never Say Goodbye" playing]

It's good.

It will taste better with kale.

Plus fried rice with kale.

-No. But you... -Barbecued pork!

♫ In the evening, by the serene beach ♫

♫ From my camera, you're looking at the shore ♫

♫ I hope our hearts will never sway ♫

Taxi!

♫ I want to fill my world up with you ♫

Keep up.

Anyway, it seems we're destined to meet.

♫ If love is the destination of wandering ♫

["All the earth and air.]

With thy voice is loud..."

Let me introduce myself officially.

♫ Your smile blurs my sight ♫

I'm Skylark,

an investigator of the Provincial Public Security Bureau.

Hello, Mu Qing.

♫ At this moment, I am lost for words ♫

[This is blue.]

This is also blue.

♫ Close your eyes slowly ♫

This is blue too.

♫ And let me kiss the edge of your nose ♫

It's a coincidence.

It's true love. We're synced.

That was close.

I'll be more careful next time.

♫ The wind blows past you as you zone out ♫

It's okay if you're not careful because you have me.

Put the cake on the table

♫ Suddenly, I realized ♫

and bring some plates over.

♫ What we experience is love ♫

Dad, let me tell you.

Don't hurt your future son-in-law.

If any of you hurt Mu Qing,

♫ And time is my love confession ♫

it means you're picking a fight with me!

I won't let him go anywhere.

♫ If love ever comes ♫

What happened?

♫ It's the sweetest thing I look forward to ♫

Should we go to the hospital?

♫ Let's promise to never ♫

Mu Qing, let's go.

♫ Say goodbye ♫

Thank you.

It's my fault for liking you.

[If you were given another chance,]

♫ That glimpse of you in the crowded street ♫

would you still go undercover?

Would you?

Yes.

Why?

♫ I feel like I know you but I brush past you again ♫

Because of one person.

[He's not my ex-boyfriend.]

He's my current boyfriend.

♫ If we meet again, it's for a better encounter ♫

You've really gained weight.

She's gone. Stop acting.

♫ A complete turn of the Earth ♫

Your acting today was too much.

Holding hands and pretending to be close.

♫ I'll be at the origin waiting for your return ♫

How was that too much?

That's the only way to prove

we have a special relationship.

That way, they won't dare to hurt you.

It's for your own good.

You're back.

♫ The wind blows past me as I zone out ♫

♫ When I turn around, I lose you in the midst of a crowd ♫

That's enough. No one is here.

♫ You are a teardrop away ♫

Drop the act. You can let me go now.

♫ And I shall quietly wait ♫

♫ If love never leaves us ♫

I know everything now.

♫ This beautiful encounter ♫

What do you know?

♫ Let's promise to never ♫

♫ Say goodbye ♫

♫ The wind blows past you as you zone out ♫

Someone is coming.

Hands up!

♫ Suddenly, I realized ♫

Come out!

♫ What we experience is love ♫

Did you see anyone suspicious?

♫ And time is my love confession ♫

No.

♫ If love ever comes ♫

♫ It's the sweetest thing I look forward to ♫

Rong Yu.

♫ Let's promise to never ♫

Rong Yu.

♫ Say goodbye ♫

♫ Let's promise to never ♫

Rong Yu!

Rong Yu!

♫ Say goodbye ♫

Rong Yu.

They were locked up in an abandoned wine cellar.

How are they now?

They're at the hospital.

Rong Yu is hurt.

But she's not in critical condition anymore.

But the one who injured them

was Matsumoto's subordinate, Li Tianlong.

He fled.

What about Ou Zhenhai?

They don't know anything yet.

Because the bodyguards he sent to protect them

are still searching for them.

There's no time to lose.

Coordinate with Country R police right away.

Find a way to let Group K know

that they are admitted to the hospital.

Got it.

What?

Kexin is hurt?

Where are they now?

What do you mean her life is not in danger?

Find a way to bring them back.

Right now!

You're awake.

How do you feel?

Where am I?

How did we get out?

Wait, don't move.

Although you didn't injure any bones,

it will take time to recover.

The police saved us.

The police?

What about Spectre?

Matsumoto and Spectre have been captured.

But that Spectre was a fake.

He was a fake?

How can it be?

Why are you crying?

And you said you didn't like me.

Don't you have anything to say to me?

How long are you going to hide it from me?

From the day of your accident until now,

I haven't been able to forgive myself.

There were many so moments

when Ou Kexin reminded me of you.

The more I spent time with Ou Kexin,

the more she reminded me of you.

The more that happened,

the more I missed you.

Sometimes, I tried to use this way

to numb my feelings.

But I knew one thing.

It was impossible for you to come back.

But until just now,

when you recited the poem

that only the two of us know

in the wine cellar,

I was certain of it.

The woman before me

is Rong Yu who's always in my heart.

I know I'm going against the rules.

But I don't care if you admit it or not.

I just know.

You must be Rong Yu.

I missed you.

I missed you so much.

I've imagined reuniting with you

countless times.

But I didn't think this is how it would be.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

Yuanwen, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

Mr. Glasses.

We found Madam Bao.

Good job.

Send men to keep a close eye on her.

When those two come back,

bring Madam Bao to meet Ou Kexin.

Yes.

Sir.

I brought you

some cured meat from my hometown.

Have a seat.

Thank you, sir.

What's wrong?

Have you gotten sick

of living leisure and carefree life?

Not yet.

I actually think my retirement life

is quite good.

I've thought it through.

I'm not young anymore.

There's no need to fight with young people.

I should let them take over.

So what's up with you today?

You came to see me because you miss me?

I really missed you.

I heard that Kexin got hurt overseas.

Aren't you retired?

How are you still so well-informed?

It's a big deal that Kexin was hurt.

Of course I care.

You can't keep a grown woman.

She's so obsessed with Mu Qing.

She even risked her life for him.

Sir.

Guess who called me yesterday.

Who is it?

Madam Bao.

Madam Bao?

I haven't heard from her in a while.

How is she?

She's doing great.

She's a grandma now.

She has a grandson.

She was afraid to call you,

so she contacted me yesterday.

She has always missed Kexin.

Because of what happened to Kexin

three years ago,

she has always blamed herself for it.

After talking to her on the phone,

this is what I thought.

Kexin is hurt.

And Madam Bao misses her.

Maybe you can let Madam Bao come over

and take care of Kexin for a few days.

Madam Bao has been taking care of Kexin previously.

She knows exactly what Kexin likes.

I think it can help Kexin

to recover faster.

It sounds good.

Bring her over then.

Sure.

Let's give Kexin a little surprise.

I'm sure Kexin will be thrilled

to see Madam Bao.

How are you feeling?

Are you tired?

Yes.

Stop moving.

I won't be tired if I lean on you.

Let me warn you two.

Godfather is furious

about what happened this time.

Be careful when we get back.

Look who's talking.

It was because you couldn't do your job.

If you had found some smart guys to save us,

things wouldn't have ended up like this.

It was out of my reach.

You guys were abroad.

You should take the blame too, Mu Qing.

You said it would be more dangerous

if many people were involved.

Why did you take Kexin along then?

That's enough.

I'm all right.

Stop nagging him.

It will be too late if anything happens to you.

When you guys get back,

Godfather won't spare either of you.

Just focus on driving.

Don't be a busybody.

Does it hurt?

[Is it here?]

Don't touch it.

Does it hurt?

It hurts.

But I'm better now.

Is this how you protect my daughter?

I'm sorry, sir.

You're sorry?

I'm telling you, if anything happens to Kexin,

you'll have to pay for it with more than your life.

Dad.

That's enough.

Look, I'm all right.

Don't take his side.

Do you want to die?

The doctor said I couldn't be agitated.

You're the one who agitates me.

All right.

All right.

Let's talk over dinner.

I've prepared all your favorite dishes.

Are you okay?

Slowly.

You cooked a lot of food again.

-I'm fine. -Godfather.

Can we eat now?

-Of course. -Thank you, Godfather

Kexin, eat up. It's good for your health.

What's wrong?

This is peanut milk.

Dad.

There's peanut milk.

And there's peanut in every dish.

I'm allergic to peanuts. Did you forget?

You're right.

Why are there peanuts?

Madam Bao.

Madam Bao?

Madam Bao, it's really you.

Surprise!

It has been a while.

I've missed you.

I had always wanted to visit you.

I just couldn't find the opportunity.

Look, I made carp with bean paste today.

It's your favorite. Come and eat.

Madam Bao.

I don't eat fish.

I'm allergic to fish.

That's right.

Kexin doesn't eat fish or peanuts.

Don't you remember?

I'm so forgetful.

There are some other dishes.

I'll go get them.

Madam Bao, please have a seat.

You and Kexin haven't met in a while.

You guys should catch up. I'll get them.

-Have a seat and eat with us. -Kexin, come.

Come and eat.

-Slowly. -What's wrong?

I hurt my shoulder.

Why were you so careless?

Dad, what a surprise.

When did you find Madam Bao?

Why didn't you tell me earlier?

Mr. Glasses cares about you.

He found out you got hurt.

So he brought Madam Bao here

to take care of you.

Mr. Glasses?

He's back?

Why didn't he join us?

Then I can thank him in person.

Come on, Kexin.

Have some soup.

Thank you.

Are you all right? I'm sorry.

-What's wrong? -I'm sorry.

-Why did you spill the soup on her? -It's okay.

I'll do it.

I'll do it.

-Come on. -Be careful, Madam Bao.

-I'm fine. -Did you get scalded, Kexin?

Sir.

-Are you okay? -I'm getting old.

I became clumsy too.

I'll clean this up.

It's okay as long as Kexin is fine. Go clean it up.

Don't cut yourself.

Okay.

Are you okay?

If you're fine, then sit down and eat.

There are other dishes to eat.

Madam Bao.

Your eldest granddaughter

is turning five soon, right?

Yes.

How did you find me?

Finding you was a piece of cake.

What do you want?

Don't panic.

It has been a while since we met, my old friend.

So I thought I'd drop by and catch up with you.

I didn't say a word

about what you guys do to anyone.

Of course you didn't.

Otherwise,

your family wouldn't have stayed alive today.

You...

What exactly do you want?

Madam Bao.

Back then,

the Ou family sent you abroad

to look after Ms. Ou.

You've seen the world.

You've eaten and drank overseas.

And you've made a good buck.

You should know

that the Ou family gave you

everything you have now.

But...

To be precise,

I was the one who gave you what you have now.

After all,

I was the one who hired you back then

and sent you abroad, right?

Yes.

It's good that you know.

I came to see you today

to ask you a small favor.

If you promise me,

I'll give you a lot of money.

It will be double the price

of what you earned overseas.

I won't do anything illegal or unethical.

I would never ask you

to do anything like that.

It's something that you can do

to repay Mr. Ou's and my kindness.

While you're away from your grandchild,

I'll have someone

to take good care of her

and keep her safe.

I beg you.

Please.

Please don't hurt my grandchild.

I've handed over

the group's business to Ruosheng.

Don't get yourself involved anymore.

-Mr. Ou, I... -Stop it.

I've made up my mind.

The one who got caught

wasn't the real Spectre.

I spoke to the real Spectre

over the phone this morning.

Now that Matsumoto is in custody,

our group is the only one left

that he can work with

in Southeast Asia.

Sir, what do you mean?

Ruosheng will take care of the group's business.

As for you,

get ready to welcome Spectre.

Sure, I'll arrange it right away.

There's no need to rush.

We have the upper hand right now.

Let's play hard to get.

I want to teach him a lesson.

Yes.

I'll let what happened to Kexin slide.

This is your last chance.

Yes, sir.

Get to work.

Godfather asked to see you alone.

Did he give you a hard time?

Yes, it was the hardest time in my life.

If I answer that way,

do I satisfy your curiosity?

What do you mean?

I'm just concerned about you.

You're really something.

You're so lucky

to have Kexin as your lucky charm.

I'm different.

The burden on my shoulders

will only get heavier from now on.

What do you mean?

Godfather promoted me.

How?

How else?

Godfather said he's leaving me

in charge of the group.

Weren't you away for a while?

A lot of things happened to the group.

Godfather can only let me handle it.

That was probably how he figured out

that I'm capable of getting things done.

But that's not the point.

Maybe he thinks he's getting old,

so he wants a stable life.

He told me

that if the business deal with Spectre

works out,

he'll take you and Kexin

to start a new life somewhere peaceful

until the end of his life.

Tell me.

In the past, we desperately wanted

to prove ourselves.

We wanted to work hard to show our value.

We longed for this day to come.

But now that the day has come,

it turns out to be

the countdown of our separation.

Is this how life is?

Ruosheng.

I think you've changed.

How have I changed?

You're becoming more and more realistic.

Mu Qing, I would accept it

if someone else told me that.

But how could you say that?

Godfather said

he would entrust the group to me.

I had no choice but to accept it.

I couldn't refuse, could I?

But on the other hand,

you're Godfather's future son-in-law.

In the end,

the group still belongs to you and Kexin.

I'm just managing it for you temporarily.

I'm working for you.

How could you call me realistic?

I don't know what else to say.

Were you fooling me?

Were you trying to tease me?

You're crazy.

Was that fun?

That was fun.

You're a weirdo.

Madam Bao.

Kexin.

Here. Madam Bao, have a seat.

Madam Bao.

You don't look well.

You need to rest.

It's nothing. I'm fine.

Kexin.

You've been through a lot.

But seeing that you're healthy and happy,

I'm very happy for you.

Madam Bao.

You have to take care of yourself too.

Don't make me worry.

Don't worry.

I'll get going then.

We've already found out

that Spectre was a fake.

It's not surprising for him to do that.

It's his usual trick.

Now that Matsumoto got caught,

Group K is Spectre's only choice.

He'll definitely contact Mr. Ou soon.

But...

Mr. Ou still doesn't trust me completely.

While I was away,

he has secretly handed over

all the group's business to Li Ruosheng.

He's planning to leave Yungang

with Skylark

after closing the deal with Spectre.

So we'll have to be more careful

with every step we take next.

Yes.

How is...

Skylark's recovery?

It's all good.

If the men who saved us had been a minute late,

it would've been catastrophic.

Thank you for your hard work.

We have an emergency now.
