He'd rather live out on the water

than interact with other people.

Hello! Done with school?

Hello uncle

Hi Le Le

Here's a lollipop for you

Thank you uncle. You're welcome.

These two items

Plus those two over there

must be shipped this afternoon.

Ah Long!

Be careful!

Ah Xian

I'm catching you

Le Le

Run run run

¥58 keep the change.

Boss is it ready?

Almost, Miss!

Boss do you have a straw?

Yes

Miss, your straw

Boss I want Ma Ke

to go to the movies with me

But he can't

read that many characters

So he keeps asking me

to translate for him

He has a lot of questions

Ohhh

Isn't...isn't that

more interesting?

But then I won't be able to

concentrate on the movie

Then next time,

I will go to the movies with you

No way

Then I won't be able to tell you stories

Oh that's true

Hm

I'll have to remind Ma Ke

You are already grown up

He needs to catch up to you

Boss do you also think Ma Ke

is different from other fathers?

Hmm...he is different..

But

that's because he's from outer space.

So his language is

different from ours.

But I like his language

I like it too.

Boss you didn't secretly

add vegetables to mine, did you?

Please inspect them

A father who loves to eat vegetables

and a child who hates vegetables

Who would have thought?

Welcome back

Look what's inside?

It's yummy

Ma Ke

Our school

taught us a new dance routine.

Let's dance together ok?

Ok?

Dance together!

Hurry up!

Dance

Ma Ke, hurry up

Ever since Le Le showed up

Mark applied for a transfer

from sailor

to the shipyard's maintenance worker.

Truly returned to land

from the sea

I heard it

I heard it!

Reserved

Le Le doesn't like vegetables,

won't eat any of it.

Making Mark very frustrated.

So every Friday,

is Le Le's

"Veggies Replenish Day"

Boss, is it ready?

Here you go!

Hold on a sec

There's more...

Long Live Friday!

Oh, come on! That movie was really touching!

Wasn't it?!

(Which part was touching?)

Which part was not touching?

(It's just a bunch of monsters scaring a little kid)

Those big eyes

were trying very hard to scare people

It almost succeeded

Did you not understand the subtitles?!

You don't understand!

(Do you want it?)

No...

(I'll buy it for you next month)

No really it's ok...

Please read through these

contract terms

(Wait)

(Isn't the stamp seal enough?)

Can't you just talk us through it?

We can't read

Huh?

Your father is illiterate?

What about your mother?

My mom is in Hawaii

We are saving money

When we have enough savings

We will go find her

Speak slowly

and I can understand

Here it is!

Boss, today Ma Ke came to my school

to be a Storyteller Dad

Really?

Le Le picked a story book

"Lion and the Little Mice"

What is the story about?

The lion set the little mice free

and then the little mice saved the lion.

In the end, they became best friends.

Interesting

It's a story for children after all

In reality,

a lion and a mouse

would never be friends, you know?

You are all too realistic

Why not?

I and Ah Long

are good friends.

That right, me and Ma Ke

are also best best friends

Yup

(Does Le Le have a best friend in school?)

Lots!

There's Xiao La, Yu Qi, Bei Er

But there's also a boy who likes to tease me

his name is Chen YiKai and he sits behind me,

and he won't stop pulling my hair.

(Then what do you do?)

I told him

if you like me,

then give me candy.

Even if you pull on my hair,

it won't speak for me.

You are the best!

Well said!

Le Le

You still haven't told me

how did Ma Ke tell

stories for everyone

By using gestures

Gestures?

How?

For example, this is an owl

This

Woah it's so hard

What about lion?

How about

little mice?

What if

a long time ago

a lion

meets a

tiger

What would the gestures be?

What did he say?

He said

Why should I tell you guys stories

(Children's song: "Stand up, look here")

(...The hero is about to appear)

Too loud!

(Come on, come on, you can do it)

(I'll give you CPR)

(You win first place, I'm the prize)

(Oh my, baby, you and me)

(Red bean!)

(Giant red bean!)

(Taro!)

(Cuo cuo cuo... [sound of shaved ice])

(What toppings...

...do you want?)

(Red bean!)

(Giant red bean!)

(Taro!)

(Mung bean, tapioca, mi tai mu)

(Peanuts, ai yu and grass jelly)

(Taro balls, rice pudding, rice balls)

Ma Ke...

Ma...Ke...

Ma Ke...

Ma Ke...

Ma Ke...Maa Ke...

Ma..Ke...

Ma Ke...Ma Ke...

Maa Ke...

Ma...Kee...

Clean the wound.

(Is she ok?)

How did this child get hurt?

(Is she ok??)

How did she get hurt?

(I don't know)

(She was already on the floor when I saw her)

(Her head kept bleeding)

(Kept bleeding)

Ok ok, I don't understand sign language

Where's your wife?

(I can't hear) Is she here?

When he brought her here

he did not leave any name or information.

Give him pen and paper.

Here, write it down

(She hit her head)

(Why is she still unconscious?)

Contact Director Liu

Boss

(I am a horrible father)

What is the situation?

They took Le Le away,

and said they want to investigate

their living conditions.

They also won't let them see each other.

What do they want?

Are these people insane?

Hello, I am a social worker at this hospital

Currently we just want to examine

the child's overall health,

and assess her living conditions.

She also needs to be hospitalized,

so we will take care of her for now.

To prevent her wound from getting infected,

we need to temporarily isolate her.

This is the best solution.

We are also trying to protect the child,

doing what's best for her.

Once we are done with the assessment,

she may be discharged and go home.

Of course,

We will also investigate

the cause of her injury.

Thank you.

What are you doing?

It's ok it's ok

You are too flustered you won't be of any help

to Le Le's recovery.

We are doing this for the sake of her health.

Yes, yes. Sorry sorry.

You go first

You are scaring her.

Mark...Mark...

Calm down, calm down first

Calm down.

Why hasn't Ma Ke come to pick me up?

Because your wound is not healed yet.

I'll need to ask you some questions

How did you learn how to speak?

I learned from listening to others talk.

But your father

couldn't have taught you to speak right?

Miss look! What's this?

It's...

Penguin?

See this is how I learned how to speak.

That is gesturing, not speaking.

Le Le, let me ask you,

Did you fall from doing household chores?

You are only 5...

So you have to do

lots of chores everyday?

Is there something wrong with

helping out with household chores?

Boss

They are still investigating

Wait a bit longer

I'll head over to Doctor Chen's

You stay with him. Ok.

Why can't I go home?

You can stay here tonight,

I'll buy lots of

hamburgers and fried chicken for you.

Why?

Here's the physical evaluation reports.

Thank you

Le Le has AB blood type,

just like me

You will definitely be smart when you grow up

What about O blood type?

Also smart?

Who has O bloody type?

Ma Ke

Ma Ke?

Your father has type O blood?

Yup, my dad is type O

What are you doing here?

What is the name

of Le Le's mother?

I don't know

Then explain to me

why your blood type

is different from Le Le's?

I don't know why

Why?

Because Le Le is not

your biological daughter.

Le Le is my daughter.

Your blood types don't match up,

yet you have her birth certificate.

Why is that?

Le Le is my daughter

Where did this child come from?

Mark

I can only help you if

you tell me the truth.

Where did this child come from?

I want a lawyer.

Blood types are actually

easy to understand.

Let me explain

to you all.

The composition of blood types

are made up of three components

A B O

A & B are dominant

While O is recessive.

So the results we get from the

combination of these three genes,

are

6 types of blood

Which 6?

AA

AO

BB

BO

AB

and O

As I said before,

Blood type O is recessive,

so when it meets

A & B

which are dominant alleles,

it does not make any decisive factor.

In other words,

a child with AB blood type,

the parents must have

both A & B antigens

to be able to birth a child

with AB blood type.

Blood type O,

obviously can't give birth to AB blood type.

What are you talking about?

If she's not biological,

then where did Le Le come from?

Mark's limited income

couldn't have afforded adoption.

Ok

He didn't adopt,

But he

has the birth certificate.

The truth is definitely not

what Mark claimed.

Boss

At the beginning,

Mark showed up here

with the child

right?

Ok

Then please tell us

What exactly

happened that night?

Yeah boss,

Where did Le Le come from?

It's just as we all know --

Le Le's mother abandoned her

Then Mark

took on the responsibility of raising Le Le，

and tried his best to be a good father.

That is what happened that night

Right, right.

There's only one truth.

The parents of kidnapped children

all have their genetic information.

We just have to find

children with unknown origins

and match

with the DNA datas.

The truth will soon surface.

I've already asked the head attorney of our law office

to handle this case.

So what will happen now?

Currently Le Le

still cannot return.

The hospital is adamant about not letting Mark visit Le Le.

Is there any way he can fight for it?

It'd be difficult

Simply because he can't hear,

and illiterate,

or...

Yes...

and no...

Guys, lets not worry too much.

Currently there isn't really any evidence against to Mark.

Unless they can somehow prove

that Le Le was kidnapped.

But if that is really the case,

then Le Le...may never be able to return.

Hello

I am attorney Yan.

Please.

Your friend

asked me to be your lawyer.

Do you accept?

If you accept,

then we can go immediately.

When can I

see Le Le?

Oh Le Le,

I've already sent out the request.

You may see her,

but can't take her with you.

Why?

Because of the blood type identification.

You and Le Le are not blood related.

She is no longer your child.

I am Le Le's father!

She was abandoned by her mother.

Don't get so riled up, ok?

They are waiting for opportunities like these

The chances of you gaining

full custody over Le Le is very low.

Because what right do you have?

You have no blood relations,

you can't hear,

illiterate,

and have a low income.

I will try my best to fight this,

but you must be mentally prepared.

If Le Le's biological parents

are found,

then you'd have zero chance.

Understand?

This Friday night,

Mark and Le Le

did not show up at the diner.

look,

Ok, it's a match.

I'll notify. Ok.

What happened?

(I can't take you home just yet)

What do you mean?

Why

can't I go home with you?

Is it because I fell?

(no)

(It's not your fault)

(It's my fault)

(They said I can't take care of you properly)

You can't take care of yourself,

that's why I need to take care of you,

and you take care of me.

(Don't worry, I'll come pick you up soon)

Hurry back to get me.

Don't worry

I will take you home, promise.

I don't like it here.

I can't sleep

We won't go home,

you can stay here too.

Hello. Yes, speaking.

Has the investigation team issued a notice?

They found Le Le's mother.

Hurry, someone's coming

Just leave it, get on!

Yes, I understand

you are a professional lawyer.

She would like to meet with you after the flight.

Yes.

Boss Ai, the hotel reservation has been booked.

Here's your passport.

I know

Ok

(Mommy is not in Hawaii)

Do you...have something

you did not tell me?

I was abandoned by my mom

and you found me, right?

Just like Tarzan

(Just like Tarzan)

(We)

(will be separated)

(forever)

Why? I don't want to.

(Because your mother is here to pick you up)

No I don't want to

Let's run away.

Hello

Boss, is Mark with you?

Officer Li, no he's not.

Crap

He took Le Le away.

Mark!

Me Ke hurry hurry

Boss is coming

Hurry up hurry up hurry up

Mark!

Mark come back!

You just put yourself in

a tough situation.

He even wanted to take my daughter away from me.

You're Le Le's biological mother?

She will find any way to

to make it so that Ma Ke

can never be near Le Le again.

You must not give up.

The only thing she can depend on now is

is you.

What kind of people are you?

It's impossible for me to imagine

what it's been like for her

these past five years

Maybe for Le Le,

if she can return to her mother...

Maybe it will be

better.
