It must be a fearless person

that has no respect for the emperor

I doubt there is another person like that in the court

Your Highness, this traitor has gone too far

what should we do?

I reckon you are the only one

who is able to deal with him

I am too old, so are those who are loyal to me

They are either too sick for this or had already passed away

We can't count on them

This person has been arrogant for years

The Emperor has just assumed personal rule

surely this person won't react nicely to it

We must be extremely careful now

You should tell the Emperor in private

that there is no need to expose this ordeal yet

He should focus on getting healed from the poison

and take care of his diet

We have made it through these years

there is no point of risking everything now

The Emperor also concurs to this

that we shall be patient for now

Although the Emperor is young

he is calm enough to deal with problems

This is what his father was lacking

This antidote is for you

I have written the instructions there

You just have to follow the instructions

the toxin in your body and the Emperor's will be gone in a month

Thank you, big brother

Don't mention it

Big brother

give me a list of the herbs you need

to make the Beauty Skin Cream for your sister

I will get them for you from the Imperial Academy of Medicine

Really? Thank you very much, little brother Long!

We are brothers, that is no big deal

By the way, have you found out

who was behind the poisoning?

Although we do not have strong evidence

but it is enough to make a guess

Can it be the premier, Oboi?

He spoke of giving the Emperor some tonic

could that mean he wants to poison the Emperor?

Big brother, there are too many people here

And since we can only meet once in a while

let's just talk about food instead of politics

You're right. We shall set everything aside

and focus on the good food

Yummy!

Big brother, where is the fan I gave you?

Speaking about that fan

it is too expensive so I don't dare to carry it around

I should just pawn it tomorrow

surely it is worth a lot of money

Big brother

that fan was given to me by my father

It is very meaningful to me

I only gave it to you

because we are good friends

I didn't know you will pawn it for money

I'm sorry, I shouldn't say that

Don't be mad, little brother Long

Don't worry, I will keep the fan with me

I'll never sell it

If I ever lose it, I shall be struck down by lightning

and drown in the water

You don't have to swear such an oath

I just want you to have me in your heart

Brother Long, don't you know you came from a rich background?

What about me?

I was born in a valley that had nothing

The people in the valley couldn't even afford clothes made of silk

We have to share our meals during the new year

Ever since I came to Beijing, I have always wanted to make a living here

and bring more money to my relatives in the valley

so that they can have a few days of rest

Big brother, if you need money in the future

just come to me

I can't help you in other aspects

but surely money is not a problem for me

But please don't sell anything

that I give to you

No way! Although we are brothers

you have helped me in many things

I can't let you help me any further I have to start earning money myself

I can see that

you are a man with principles

although you don't seem to be bothered by rules

You are also a good person

You are thoughtful and loyal

and most importantly generous

I am so happy

that you have such high regards of me

Let's have a drink

Cheers!

It is so hot. Why do we have to meet under the hot sun?

This is Sun Fu. He was a trusted lieutenant of my second son Li Si Xing

who is Yi Huan's second brother

When I fought Wu San Gui at Dian City

Si Xing saw me shooting his mother and sister to protect the late emperor

He hated me for that

and disappeared

The fate of Sun Fu was also unknown

We have received words that Sun Fu surrendered to the Qing Dynasty

I want you to capture Sun Fu alive

and bring him back to the Pearl Valley

so that we can interrogate him regarding Si Xing's whereabouts

Since Sun Fu had surrendered

is it possible that brother Si Xing had surrendered too?

Nonsense

Your brother is my son, whom I have educated since he was a child

He will never surrender to the Qing Dynasty

He either disappeared because he was mad at me

or he was betrayed by Sun Fu

and had died for his nation

After Sun Fu surrendered, he became a valuable asset to the Qing Dynasty

Not only he was given a Manchuria surname

all information about him was classified

That is why we can't find anything about him for years

We have only discovered recently that

the mayor of Yuan Zhou, Akesaina Mu Tai

is in fact General Li Si Xing's lieutenant, Sun Fu

To safeguard his identity he acts extremely cautiously

He is escorted by soldiers wherever he goes

To ensure we will capture him alive...

Li Yi Huan! We have to act together

and rush to Yuan Zhou tomorrow

Tomorrow?

Yes. We shall wait for Junior Fan to return from mission

and we will leave at dawn

Can we depart in two days time?

But we just got to Beijing

I have not visited the market, nor have I tasted all the good food

Brother Long even promised to buy me a roasted duck

Father, can we stay here for a little longer?

We are not going to Yuan Zhou for fun

Capturing Sun Fu is vital in finding your brother, Si Xing

We must act at once to prevent any complications

If you are not willing to go

then you will follow me back to the Pearl Valley

Going back to the Pearl Valley?

Then I had better follow you to Yuan Zhou

and catch that Akesai or something

Yi Huan!

You must not be playful this time

You must follow your seniors' instructions

and complete the mission do you understand?

Eldest senior, what about this?

The four of us will be in charge of capturing Sun Fu

while Junior Yi Huan will help us with our escape, is that okay?

I knew that Brother Ye treats me best

He is not as long winded and does not nag

like everyone else

I know you're tired of me

But I have to remind you, sit straight

This operation

is the first team mission we have since we left the valley

Do not take this mission lightly

Be serious

Greetings, Your Highness

Long live Your Highness

Save that. Didn't I say that

you can do away with these unnecessary courtesies?

Have a seat

Thank you, Your Highness

May I know why I am summoned, Your Highness?

What order do I have for you?

I am just enjoying the scenery of the spring

and wish to find a few of my fellow elderlies

to enjoy it together

But I reckon

you are the only person left

who is old enough for me to talk to

Indeed, Dorgon was gone for 20 years

while Soni had left us three years ago

I'm grateful that Your Highness still remembers me

Oboi, you have contributed to this Great Qing Dynasty

and also the house of Aisin Gioro

You are also one of my oldest friends.

Surely I will think of you often

Fortunately, the Emperor has grown up

and it is time for me to rest

Don't you think so?

Absolutely, Your Highness

It wasn't easy for you as the Grand Empress Dowager

to have assisted three generations of emperors

Your contributions have outmatched all women that have ever lived

The contributions that you talked about

and outmatching all women

are all exaggerated praises

I was just fulfilling my duties as the Grand Empress Dowager

All I hope is that the government is stable

when the Emperor assumes personal rule

Don't worry, Your Highness

I will do everything I can to assist His Majesty

I will not disappoint the late Emperor

I can see that all these years

you have been contributing to the Great Qing Dynasty

I am truly grateful for that

The Emperor has just assumed personal rule

although I am old

I still have to protect the Emperor at all cost

Whoever disrespects the Emperor

I will ensure

that person will not have a good end do you understand?

Don't worry, Your Highness

If anyone dares to harm the Emperor

I will not let him escape justice

Good, Oboi. I trust that as long as you are here

no one in this court

will ever harm the Emperor

You have served three generations of emperors

I trust that you will finish what you have started decades ago

and keep a reputation for yourself

and your offspring, won't you?

Thank you for your trust Your Highness

I will do everything that I can to not disappoint you

Here you go

Look at this

Look at these flowers aren't they beautiful?

Go have a look

- Have a look? - Of course

I'm going

This Shuiyue Nunnery is not very big but it was built by the royalty

This river is connected to the outer river

Once we have caught Sun Fu we will escape through the waters

When they finally realise their mayor is gone and lock down the city

we will be far from Yuan Zhou

Yi Huan, stop playing

Get the boat ready and wait at the rendezvous point

Do not leave before we return

I understand that You are so long winded

Abbess, please help me

Madam, please rise...

Abbess, my husband and I were passing through Yuan Zhou

when my husband was suddenly infected with a fatal disease

He died because of that

Amitabha

Abbess, please help me

It is very pitiful for you to go through such unfortunate experience

at such a young age

Alright, I will conduct a ritual for your late husband

to deliver his soul so that he can return to his home

Thank you, Abbess

Thank you very much

Can I beg you for one more thing?

I have spent all my money

to find a cure for my husband

I can't afford to stay in the inn

Abbess, can you let me stay in the nunneries for few days?

When my family are here to collect my husband's body

I will donate a big sum to the nunnery

Well... This Shuiyue Nunnery has been favoured by

the mayor's wife all this while

She is coming to pray in three days time

When she comes, we will not allow other visitors

It won't be good if she sees you and your husband's body

when she arrives

But Abbess, I have sent an urgent mail to my family

they will surely make it

before the mayor and his wife arrives

to take us away

Please, abbess, please help me

Please help me, abbess

I beg you, abbess

Please rise. Buddha is merciful

I shall take you in for three days. Please rise

Thank you, abbess

Eldest senior...

- Eldest senior - Junior Ye is indeed...

a good strategist

This plan has been going smoothly

You have an impressive skill of faking death

The abbess has been doing rituals for two days

yet she did not even realise

Tomorrow Sun Fu and his wife will come to pray

the success of our mission depends on this

By the way, is there any problem with Yi Huan

in arranging the boat we need to escape?

She said it won't be a problem

Although little junior is playful

I believe she'll understand the importance and arrange it carefully

I have rehearsed with her and arranged the boat myself

and checked with her repeatedly There shouldn't be any problem

That stupid Brother Zhu had left me alone here

He wants me to guard this boat even before they caught Sun Fu

I doubt this boat will ever run away by itself!

It is so boring

I wonder if there is any good food in Yuan Zhou

Why do I get hungry as soon as I think about food?

No... Brother Zhu had repeatedly told me

to guard this boat

I had better sit here and wait

just in case he will blame me again

Boatman...

Send me to Chun Feng Brothel in Yuan Zhou City

I'm sorry, my boat is not available for now

What a big tael of silver!

But Brother Zhu had told me

to never leave this place

Should I let go of this opportunity?

Is your boat available now?

Go...

Is that him?

What is he doing here in disguise?

Is it possible that this is another conspiracy of Oboi?

Brother Zhu will only need this boat tomorrow

why don't I ferry this driver first

and see if I can get any important information

If I do, the masters and the seniors will never look down on me again

Why are you still there?

This person is more skilled than I am. I must be careful

Sir, where is the Chun Feng Brothel you mentioned?

Just go along the river you will know when you reach there

- Sure - Haven't you heard of

the famous Chun Feng Brothel in Yuan Zhou City?

What an ignorant kid

Please be seated inside

This is the most famous Chun Feng Brothel, kid

- This way please, sir - Let's go

Have fun!

So, this is the brothel?

There are bigger and better brothels in the Capital City

Oboi's driver will not come all the way to Yuan Zhou

just to visit some prostitutes

Surely he has something else in mind

I must follow him

- How is the business, madam? - This way

Yes, thanks to His Excellency the premier

So beautiful

This must be the room of one of the most famous prostitutes

So many things here!

All of these are made of silver!

Even if I can't find that driver

it'll be a good deal too if I can get away with these items

Master, this way

Master, this way, please

Is the premier all right?

Everything is fine, thank you for asking

Follow me, this way

- Master, this way please - Alright

Master, please

Madam, how's the progress

of the thing that the premier told you to do?

Don't worry, master The premier's bidding

will definitely be the top priority of this Chun Feng Brothel

The thing is, the two beauties picked by the premier this time

they only have pretty faces but are slow learners

If we are to teach them in terms of music, chess and dances

and also the art of sex

I'm afraid we will need more time

What beauties are they talking about?

Not only they have to be artistic

but they must be well-versed in sex as well?

Is Oboi going to get himself more wives?

There's not much time left

until the last batch of beauties being sent to the palace

When I'm done with this errand I will send them to Beijing

So Oboi isn't getting wives for himself

but for the little Kang Xi Emperor?

On one hand, Oboi is poisoning the Emperor

on the other hand, he is getting the Emperor some beauties

He is indeed giving both carrot and stick to the Emperor

I should not stay here any longer

I must go back to the boat and wait for Brother Zhu

The mayor of Yuan Zhou, Akesaina Mu Tai has an appointment with me

tomorrow at this Chun Feng Brothel Please arrange it for me

Don't worry, master. I will arrange it

Thank you

The mayor? Mu Tai?

Isn't that Sun Fu who we are going to capture?

- It is you again? - It's not me!

You pretended to be a boatman and now you are eavesdropping

Who are you?

Spare my life! Please! Let me go!

Talk!

I'll talk...

I... I was just operating my boat

When I sent you here

I had no idea what Chun Feng Brothel is about

It is only when I came in then I realised what a brothel is

I have never seen anything like this

Hence I came in

I think because of my clothes and the fact that I'm not a regular here

no one came to serve me

That's why I was wandering on this second floor

Then when I was wandering

I saw many cups made of gold and silver in this brothel

I thought I could take a few pieces away

I didn't know...

I was wrong...

I... I will never steal again

So you are really coming here to steal

and have no other intentions?

It was a mistake...

All the things I've stolen are all here

Take a look, they are all here

Indeed they belong to this brothel

Master, it was my mistake

I shall return all these to you

And... what you have paid me just now

I will also give you back

Please spare my life

I still have a 50-year-old mother

and a 70-year-old grandmother to feed

please spare my life

on their account

If there's nothing else I'll make a move

Master, what are you doing?

I have given you everything I have

If you don't trust me you can search my body

But please don't bring me to the court

It is a waste of time

to send you to the court

But why would a boatman like you

knows martial arts?

Once in a while I will practice some martial arts

with my fellow boatmen

But my skills are nothing

in front of a skilled person like you

I can be easily defeated by you

What do you think, madam?

If it's just a boatman, then we can just beat him and let him go

But this is not an ordinary boatman

but a cunning girl

Girl?

Can't you see that?

She is a girl and a virgin

How dare you

come and steal at my brothel?

Lock this thief up!

Go!

What are you doing?

Go inside!

What are you doing?

Let me go! Help!

Help!

I must find a way to escape

Brother Zhu and the rest will start their operation at dawn

if they have caught Sun Fu and come to the riverside

but I am not there

what are they going to do?

Fifth master

if you know that I can't even open such a simple lock

surely you will be so disappointed

in having a lousy student like me

I'm afraid that I'm not just going to disappoint you

but also going to lose my life

Junior Ye

it is indeed difficult to disguise ourselves as them

in such a short time

Don't worry

I don't think that coward Sun Fu

will be that familiar with the men under his command

Our disguise should be alright

Let's not waste our time

Come

Amitabha...
