[Rebel Princess]

[Episode 16]

Stop!

Prince Yuzhang’s great army has already invaded the city,

yet you still aren’t surrendering?!

Governor Wu has ordered us to capture Princess Consort Yuzhang and to kill anyone who resists.

Brothers, protect Princess Consort with your lives!

Protect Princess Consort with our lives! Protect Princess Consort with our lives!

What are you all still waiting for? Attack!

Stop! Stop!

Mou Lian, you dare to secretly collude with the enemies.

Men, capture this traitor!

You all. Are you all rebelling?

You!

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Emperor’s Conquests@ Viki.com

Traitor Wu Qian rebelled and has gone against his superiors!

Although I, Mou Lian, am his nephew,

I would never surrender to him as he seeks the favor of those who are powerful!

As a soldier of Great Cheng, it is my duty to protect the imperial court.

I will not be a traitor!

This general places righteousness above family loyalty.

He deserves to be praised for his courage and loyalty.

Soldiers, pacify the rebellion of Huizhou on behalf of Prince Yuzhang.

I will most definitely report this to the imperial court so that you are all rewarded for your service in pacifying this rebellion!

However, if there are some amongst you all

who insist on being a rebel and an enemy to Great Cheng,

then that is digging your own grave.

A path to death!

Pacify the rebels! Loyalty to Great Cheng!

Loyalty to Great Cheng! Loyalty to Great Cheng!

- Princess Consort. - Princess Consort.

All of you have worked hard. I, Wang Xuan, will not forget this favor of your rescue.

No need for thanks, Princess Consort.

We cannot waste time.

We must defend Huizhou and stop Prince of Jianning’s rebels from entering the city.

What Princess Consort said is right.

Huizhou is the strategic passage to the capital.

It’s also an important bargaining chip for the rebels to seize the capital.

Yes.

General Mou, you are most familiar with Huizhou. Do you have any wise ideas?

The east of Huizhou faces water. There are only three city gates.

The general stationed in the north of the city is a good friend of mine.

With our military strength, it should not be a problem for us to seize the northern and western gates.

The exception is the southern gate. There are more than 10,000 soldiers stationed there.

The general is a trusted aide of Wu Qian. I fear it won’t be easy to seize it.

Princess Consort, I think that we should capture Wu Qian and obtain the commander tally.

That way, the guards at the southern gate will surrender.

- General Song, capture Wu Qian immediately and obtain the commander tally. - Yes.

You must not hurt Madam Wu and her daughter. She has helped me before.

I will keep that in mind.

I kneel in thanks to you, Princess Consort.

Your Majesty, Crown Prince and Third Prince are here to see you.

- Greetings, Imperial Father. - Greetings, Imperial Father.

My two princes, His Majesty’s body is in need of rest.

Please go back.

Older Brother! Older Brother.

I have something that I hope you will allow, Older Brother.

Third Younger Brother, please say.

I want to lead troops to Huizhou to save A’Wu.

You want to go save A’Wu?

Yes.

Third Younger Brother, leading a troop and going to battle isn’t something that you play around with.

You have never led soldiers before.

A’Wu is in a difficult and dangerous situation at the moment.

I cannot put you in that situation, as well.

I do not agree.

Rest assured, I will go discuss this with Uncle right now

and send soldiers to save A’Wu as soon as possible.

Older Brother! Older Brother!

Older Brother, I have been to Huizhou once.

As far as I know, that Wu Qian is rebelling

because A’Wu was kidnapped before and he’s afraid that the prime minister will blame him.

So, he has lost his sense of propriety.

Although he captured A’Wu, I am a prince. He wouldn’t dare to do anything to me.

As long as I lead a troop there and give him a promise,

I believe that this situation will surely be resolved.

However, if the imperial court sends another general there,

I’m afraid it will anger the rebels and make the situation worse.

This...

Older Brother. Older Brother.

When I hit you last time, I was being rash. You can punish me all you want.

But A’Wu is in difficulty, so I can only beg you.

If we continue to not send troops, it really will be too late.

I know!

A’Wu grew up with the three of us.

Do you think I am not anxiously trying to save her?

It is just that...

Uncle has already arranged everything.

I must listen to him about everything and I cannot say anything.

If the imperial court doesn’t send troops,

then I will go myself.

Zitan! Zitan!

In a while, you will go in this direction. This group, go in that direction.

Remember, you must spread the news that Prince Yuzhang has invaded the city. Did you hear me?

- Hurry and go! - Yes. - Yes.

Everyone, hurry and run!

Prince Yuzhang’s great army has invaded the city!

Hurry and run!

Prince Yuzhang is coming! [Esteemed Virtuous Humane Gathering]

Hurry and run! Hurry and run!

Prince Yuzhang’s great army has invaded the city! [Grains]

- You guys go that way. You guys go that way. - Hurry and run! Prince Yuzhang has invaded the city!

Prince Yuzhang’s great army has invaded the city! Everyone, hurry and leave!

- Hurry and run! - Prince Yuzhang’s great army has invaded the city!

- Everyone, quickly run! - Quickly run!

Run! Quickly run!

[Wu Manor]

Prince- Prince Yuzhang’s great army has invaded the city!

Governor Wu! [Shende Court]

Prince Yuzhang’s great army has invaded the city!

Governor Wu!

Governor, Prince Yuzhang’s great army has invaded the city.

- What?! - He will be here at the manor very soon.

Husband! What do we do?

Hurry and leave. If you do not, it will be too late—

Covert Envoy, don’t kill me. I’m loyal to the Marquis. I would go through fire and water for him.

Listen carefully! Prince Yuzhang’s great army has already invaded the city.

Since that is the case, then you cannot be kept alive!

- I’m going to fight with you to the death. I— - Madam.

Madam? Madam!

Madam!

Princess Consort, let me.

Thank you, Princess Consort.

Have some water.

Be careful.

Princess Consort, let me, let me.

Princess Consort, don’t touch. Your body is precious so just leave it to us.

It’s fine.

Yesterday, these soldiers suffered serious injuries in order to save me.

These trivial things I’m doing are nothing.

Here.

Reporting to Princess Consort. The city is in chaos now and flames are everywhere.

Princess Consort, will we succeed?

Right now, we can only do all that we can to try.

If he leads his soldiers to attack with all their force, will they then break into Huizhou?

General Song and General Mo are both here.

How could they possibly break into this city that easily?

Besides,

His Highness is on his way to rescue us right now.

What if they attack the city before His Highness gets here?

His Highness will surely be here before that.

- However, Princess Consort— - His Highness will certainly come!

However, there hasn’t been any reply to the messages we’ve sent out.

Perhaps His Highness did not receive any of them and we are all going to die.

You!

I won’t allow you to say that we will die.

None of us will die.

Princess Consort...

Princess Consort, I am not afraid of dying.

I’m afraid that Your Highness will fall into the hands of the rebels.

Yu Xiu, don’t be afraid.

None of us can be afraid.

Do you remember what I promised you before?

I will take you to see the beautiful sights of the imperial city.

I will take you to eat the delicious food of the capital.

I also want to share my great wine with you.

None of us will die.

His Highness will certainly come.

Princess Consort,

I’m sorry.

Boss, when will the guards we’re changing shifts with come?

What are you anxious about? They’ll come.

It won’t delay you from going back to embrace and spoil your woman.

Boss, they are here! It looks like Mou Lian.

Mou Lian?

Why is he here?

Brothers, let’s go down and see.

Let’s go!

[Western Gate]

Stop!

What do you all want?!

Prince Yuzhang’s great army has entered the city. You all should quickly surrender.

You all are rebelling right now!

Capture them all!

Prince of Jianning has raised an army. Princess Consort Yuzhang was kidnapped.

Yesterday, there was a report from Jiangnan.

My Ningshuo army has already crossed swords with the enemy in the Six Frontier Towns.

Once Prince Yuzhang finds out his princess consort has fallen into the enemy’s hands,

I’m afraid this may shake the army’s morale.

So we must rescue Princess Consort Yuzhang.

However, General Wuwei commands the imperial army at the capital.

It is important to defend here, so he cannot leave.

This is a serious matter.

Everyone, do you have any wise plans?

Duke Huan.

Here.

I intend to send you to lead troops to suppress the rebels at Huizhou City.

What are your thoughts?

Worrying about the empire and its people is part of my job.

Besides, Prime Minister and I are in-laws.

A’Wu being kidnapped makes me very worried.

Rest assured, Your Highness the Crown Prince.

Prime Minister, I will certainly rescue A’Wu.

Good!

I, Wang Lin, thank you for your righteous deed, Duke Huan.

I will count on you for my daughter’s safety.

If I may boldly ask,

I heard that you helped Zitan

ask His Majesty for troops to rescue A’Wu a few days ago.

Is that true?

Indeed that happened.

Crown Prince, you are so muddle-headed.

What is it?

Don’t you also want to rescue A’Wu from the distress in Huizhou?

Why did you say that?

Right now, the imperial court is on the cusp of chaos.

Zitan is going to Huizhou this time to resolve the situation.

If he does rescue A’Wu,

it would be considered a great achievement.

Zitan was originally under imperial order to keep watch over the imperial mausoleum.

He has already violated the imperial order by returning to the capital this time.

I’m sending Duke Huan to lead the troops to Huizhou.

He has no part in this.

What about Second Prince, then?

Zilu? How long has it been seen I’ve seen his shadow?

He’s not interested in state affairs at all. No need to worry.

The quieter he is, the more we shouldn’t underestimate him.

I’m merely asking you to not mess up your greater goal in a moment of carelessness.

Otherwise, it would be too late for us to even regret it.

Okay, okay, okay.

After I ascend to the throne,

you will be the first Empress Xie of our Great Cheng.

At that time, I will request to have your father return

and be restored to his original position. What do you think?

Why is there such a big fire in the city? What’s going on? [Huizhou]

What’s going on?

It’s such a huge fire. Did something happen?

Look!

General, look. There are fires everywhere.

W-What is going on?

Fire! Hurry and put the fire out!

Fire! Hurry and put the fire out! `

Everyone, hurry. Sweep the dust up!

Hurry up, everyone! Hurry!

Sweep the dust up!

Hurry!

General Qin, news has spread throughout the city

that Prince Yuzhang’s vanguard unit has already stormed into the city.

That Prince Yuzhang’s great army is already outside the city.

General Mou has arrived!

General Mou.

Stop right there!

General Mou, what are you doing right now?

General Qin. Soldiers!

We are originally soldiers of the imperial court.

Wu Qian colluded with the Prince of Jianning to rebel. That is a betrayal to His Majesty.

How could we possibly help the evildoers?

The great army of Prince Yuzhang is now bearing down upon us,

and has already seized the eastern and western gates, and captured Wu Qian alive.

So if we continue to fail to come to our senses,

we shall surely be convicted of the crime of rebelling.

I don’t want to be a rebel!

I also don’t want to be a rebel! - I also don’t want to be a rebel!

Me, too! I also don’t want to be a rebel! I also don’t want to be that!

I also don’t want to be a rebel!

Since that is the case, we are all willing to serve Prince Yuzhang.

[Eternal Prosperity and Prestige]

Greetings, Princess Consort Yuzhang.

Reporting to Princess Consort. According to your orders,

Huizhou City is under our control now.

You have all worked hard.

[Wu Manor]

Greetings, Princess Consort!

All soldiers here, Wu Qian’s rebellion has been pacified for now.

We have regained Huizhou.

Everything is thanks to you all.

You were not afraid of life nor death, fighting hard in this bloody battle.

Soldiers,

you all are indeed loyal, brave, and mighty!

Princess Consort is mighty!

Princess Consort is mighty! Princess Consort is mighty!

There are still three things I must ask of you all.

First, reassure the hearts of the people

to prevent any uproar in the city.

Second, reserve the grains

as we wait for Prince Yuzhang’s men.

Third, strengthen the city’s defense in preparation to defend against Prince of Jianning’s rebels, as they may attempt at invade the city at any time.

Yes!

General Mou.

Princess Consort.

My condolences.

I owe Madam Wu a debt of gratitude.

Though I, Wang Xuan, have no means to return it.

I will make arrangements for Huixin.

Please go on your way peacefully.

Make way! Make way! [Huizhou]

Stop!

Who are you?

We are from the Zhao Clan of the Yong’an region of the western part of Huizhou.

- Why are you covering your face? - My guard brother.

Our family patriarch has caught a cold and is afraid to pass it on to you all.

That’s why he has covered his face.

Wait!

General. How can I help you, General?

Take the veil off.

Take the veil off.

My elder,

how many people are in your family?

My wife and children have already passed away.

I am the only one left, with my servant as company.

How did your wife and children pass away?

Illness.

Capture him!

Let’s go!

Marquis Xie, I hope you have been well.

Now that it has come to this,

my entire Xie Clan

can never rise again.

- In this life, I have brought shame to my ancestors. - Hey!

Duke Huan, you trust Prince of Jianning that much?

It is not that I trust him, but it is that he trusts you.

Why does he?

What father doesn’t trust his own son?

Prince of Jianning is your birth father.

Someone come! Someone come!

Your Majesty, you’re awake?

Just now, who was standing there?

No one had come.

I think that Your Majesty had a dream again.

I’m having a severe headache.

Where is Zitan?

How come I haven’t seen him for days now?

I heard that the Third Prince went to Huizhou.

Why was Xie Yuan here in Huizhou?

I didn’t even get the chance to ask

before he committed suicide.

Did he leave a will before he died?

He only asked for forgiveness from his ancestors.

Have people secretly escort Xie Yuan’s body

back to the capital in accordance with the rituals of a marquis.

Bury him in the region from which the Xie Clan’s ancestors originated.

No matter what Xie Yuan did before,

- I hope that it is all forgotten and that no regrets are left. - Yes!

Princess Consort. General Song.

I have lead the covert guards from the Lanyue Country Manor here to greet you, Princess Consort.

Greetings, Princess Consort!

I, Wang Xuan, thank everyone here.

You are all brave soldiers of Great Cheng.

I have been a covert guard for half my life.

To be able to fight our enemies in the frontline with these two generals today,

it was delightful!

You are such a brave hero. Being only a covert guard,

do you not find it a pity?

If I assign you under the command of Prince Yuzhang, are you willing?

I accept your grace and pledge my allegiance.

’Til death, I shall never obey anyone else.

What if you were to serve by my side?

No matter where Princess Consort assigns me, I will do as you ask with no hesitation.

Loyalty to Princess Consort with no hesitation!

I can’t believe your mother and Prince of Jianning had such an affair.

This is good, too.

It doesn’t matter if Prince of Jianning is my birth father or not.

He, himself, has said that he would help me seize the throne.

Then I can only sit back and wait for it to happen.

Your Highness, could the rumor about Prince Yuzhang be true? [Huizhou]

That he miraculously surmised that we would divide our troops and rush in,

so he was a step ahead of us, seizing Huizhou city.

Could it be that the lad Xiao Qi is really that fast?

Your Highness, horn sounds came from three directions:

east, west, and north.

And the southern gate is where most of the Huizhou soldiers stay.

I think it will be difficult to make a move.

Your Highness, why don’t we attack the southern gate speedily?

“All warfare is based on deception.” (T/N: The Art of War - Sun Tzu)

“Therefore, when capable of attacking, feign incapacity; when active in moving troops, feign inactivity.”

Relay my order. Surround Huizhou city.

Yes!

Duke Huan, I have done everything you ordered.

Good.

Duke Huan, are we really going to Huizhou and get involved in this mess?

I had come to an agreement with Prince of Jianning long ago.

As long as we capture Huizhou, then we can seize the capital directly.

Wu Qian had worked for the Wang Clan, thus I was just using him.

It doesn’t matter to me if he and Wang Xuan live or die.

T-Then why did we exhaust ourselves on this journey as a favor to Wang Lin?

Wang Lin sending me to pacify the rebellion is perfectly aligned with my intentions.

If he had sent Wang Xu, wouldn’t it have ruined our great plan?

Reporting to Duke Huan. The wooden bridge ahead collapsed and washed away.

Was it the one here?

Yes.

- You may leave. - Yes

Quickly have people cut wood to repair the bridge.

Whenever the bridge is repaired is when we cross the river.

Only Heaven knows when we will arrive in Huizhou.

I understand.

Father.

Father.

Father.

Crown Princess, please quell your sorrow.

Crown Princess.

My aunt was killed by the empress.

The descendants of the Xie Clan have been suffering the suppression of Wang Lin.

Now my father was forced to die by Wang Xuan.

Yet that hateful Zitan is really going to Huizhou to rescue Wang Xuan.

He wants to save Wang Xuan’s life,

but I just won’t let him!

Bring Su Jin’er here immediately.

Yes.

Your Highness, it’s dark. You should quickly head inside to rest.

Right now, all the people and soldiers of Huizhou need you.

Don’t let your body crumble from the stress.

How is Madam Wu’s daughter?

She keeps crying and making a ruckus. She has already fainted twice from crying.

She has not drunk a drop of water this entire day. No one could convince her otherwise.

Madam Mou has been watching her this whole time.

I’ll go see her.

Princess Consort, it’s better if you do not go.

Miss Huixin has a strong temper. I fear she will offend you.

Eat a bit.

You being like this really makes one’s heart ache.

Princess Consort.

Huixin.

No matter what, you should eat something.

If Madam Wu saw you like this,

how could she peacefully pass away?

At least eat one bite.

Who are you?

I am Princess Consort Yuzhang.

It’s you?

It’s you who killed my mother!

I want to strangle you to death!

I want to get revenge for my mother!

Not eating nor drinking, where would you find the strength?

If you want revenge,

then first live before you make such statements.

Sit.

Princess Consort.

I am Mou Lian’s wife.

How is General Mou?

Thank you, Princess Consort, for your concerns.

He has already rushed to the barracks to help General Song make defensive arrangements.

Princess Consort, I actually have a few things I want to say to you.

Please go ahead.

Mou Lian has always aspired to serve the empire.

For many years, he has never relied on his uncle’s power or connections.

This time, his uncle colluded with the rebels and Mou Lian was also urged to join

until you entered the city, pulling him back before he

made a grave mistake

I ask Your Highness to speak for him and not let his uncle implicate him,

to not let Mou Lian lose the opportunity to serve the country.

I, as his wife, bow to you in gratitude, Princess Consort.

Hurry and get up.

It turns out that General Mou has such an understanding, knowledgeable, and virtuous wife.

Regarding Wu Qian’s matter, I already promised not to implicate him.

Please rest assured.

Thank you so much, Princess Consort.

Prince of Jianning is now a fierce tiger outside this city.

I’m unfamiliar with Huizhou and its people.

Madam Mou, I hope you can advise me

and discuss with me about defending the city.

I will do my best.

Princess Consort, what is it?

What’s happened?

I can’t sleep.

When I think of Madam Wu and Huixin,

my heart is not at ease.

Come with me for a walk outside.

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Emperor’s Conquests@ Viki.com

When we were at the regional manor, I was worried about your safety the whole time.

Whenever night fell, I would be anxious and terrified.

It’s better now.

We have relocated to the governor’s manor. This place is heavily guarded.

You’re not afraid anymore, right?

I feel much better now.

When I think about General Song guarding us, I no longer worry.

We must stop them.

Remember, no matter what happens, we must stay put and not retreat.

This time, it is all thanks to General Song.

For His Highness to have such a fierce general,

it truly is a blessing for the Ningzhuo army.

General, look here.

General Song does somewhat resemble His Highness.

Here as well.

- Let’s go so as to not disturb them. - Yes.

Princess Consort!

- Princess Consort. - Princess Consort.

Princess Consort, please wait.

Princess Consort.

General Song.

We are making the plans to defend the city right now.

It looks like we must prepare to resist the Prince of Jianning’s attack on the city at any moment.

Crown Princess,

according to...

I did everything according to what you said.

However, the third prince has become more and more distant towards me.

He is no longer willing to see me.

Someone’s image has been planted in his heart.

If you don’t uproot it,

how can you walk into this mere one inch of land?

Third Prince and Princess have had deep affections for each other since childhood.

He won’t ever be able to forget the princess.
