Episode 37

Hurry up.

Hurry up and load it.

You're all here.

Come on, hurry and pack that up.

Xu.

How is the preparation?

Don't worry. It's the usual.

I hid the goods

in the frozen lamb's stomach.

Mr. Xu.

The payment is as usual.

I'll pay the balance when the work is done.

Sure. You can count on me.

Don't just stand there.

Let's go inside and have some tea. Come.

You rascal!

Do you want to die?

Public Security

Hello. What's going on?

That brat was so drunk that he jaywalked.

I almost ran into him.

You should be more cautious while driving.

Yes, sir.

It's late. Are you still on duty?

Leave now.

Hang on.

Please show me

your driving license and ID.

Pass me my wallet.

Here.

What's wrong?

What's wrong with your license plate?

Dirty water got splashed on it.

You're obscuring the license plate.

What about the license plate on the truck?

It's broken. I haven't fixed it yet.

This won't do.

This is against the law.

You...

Who told you to hit him?

I thought we got caught.

Load him in the truck.

Be gentle. Don't be so clumsy.

Take a sniff.

Why does it smell like a lamb?

The drugs were hidden in the lamb's stomach.

With such an undetectable method,

it's difficult for us to trace it.

It seems like Group K

is on the move again.

Director Liu told me

that Squad Two will search for the missing police officer.

Our mission is to continue working with our undercover agents.

But...

I have a bad feeling about this.

Yungang Public Security Bureau

Darn it.

I had no choice.

I've been in this business for years.

I can't believe

an ordinary police officer would ruin my plan.

Why didn't you kill him?

My business is about transporting goods,

not killing people.

What's more, he's a police officer.

So what if he's a police officer?

The police are humans too.

What did you say?

Then you do it. Help yourself.

Mr. Xu.

Here's the rest of the payment.

Leave him to us.

Don't worry about it.

That's great.

Right.

I'm not planning to stay in Yungang.

As for transporting the goods,

you should find someone else.

See you later.

Mr. Glasses.

What do we do?

Yuanwen.

You'll be returning to Group K soon.

While you were gone for a month,

the bureau has made

a comprehensive arrangement for you.

You can go back without any worries.

If you have other requests,

you can contact me directly.

I'll do my best to meet your needs.

Understood.

Skylark.

In the next mission,

you'll have a bigger burden on your shoulders.

I know.

What's wrong?

Are you not ready for it?

I'm ready.

Okay.

I'll be waiting for your good news.

I want to see Mr. Ou.

Hello.

What?

Mu Qing is back?

Okay.

I'll be right there.

-To Mr. Ou's place. -Yes.

What exactly is Mu Qing thinking?

He disappeared for so long.

Now that he's back, why wouldn't he come to see me first?

He could meet anyone else,

but why would he go to see my dad?

Isn't he looking for trouble?

What is he thinking?

He must have gone crazy.

Drive faster, will you?

Can you stop rushing me?

Stop yapping.

I'm worried about him too.

Where were you for the past month?

I wasn't in Yungang.

Of course I knew that you weren't around.

I'm asking where you went.

I was at the border of Yunnan.

Why did you come back?

I can't hide forever.

What are you hiding from?

From being killed by Mr. Glasses.

Why would Glasses

want to kill you all of a sudden?

I don't know either.

On the day the police caught Xiaoyue,

why were you at the hospital?

I accompanied Kexin to the gynecologist

for a routine checkup.

Do you really think

I would believe that?

To be honest,

I came back this time

while knowing that you wouldn't trust me so easily.

Tell me, sir.

What can I do to make you believe me?

What makes you think

you can gain my trust again?

Because Mr. Glasses and Li Ruosheng

might not be capable enough to help run your business.

But I can.

Besides,

if you didn't want to believe me anymore,

you wouldn't have wanted to see me.

You're smart.

But you probably don't know.

I don't like smart people.

Especially someone who has smartness

written all over his face.

But you need me.

That's right.

The group is in a tight spot right now.

We're surrounded by enemies

and running out of capable men.

But I still won't risk it with you.

Stop him.

Mr. Glasses, you're here too.

Move aside.

Mr. Glasses.

Move aside.

I'm actually quite envious of Mu Qing.

I didn't know

that so many people cared about him.

Dad, stop!

What are you doing?

Are you okay?

Ruosheng.

I'm telling you.

Mu Qing affects the fate of the group.

I hope you know what you're doing.

Mr. Glasses, let me tell you something too.

All I care about now

is whether my friend lives or dies.

Move aside.

Where did you go?

You were gone for so long.

Why didn't you call me?

I was so worried about you.

How have you been?

How is your previous injury?

Have you fully recovered?

I'm fine.

Why didn't you call me then?

Do you know how worried I was?

Li Ruosheng.

What is going on?

I'm asking you.

Why is Kexin here?

Godfather, it's all my fault.

I shouldn't have lied to you.

But I couldn't stop Kexin...

Why didn't you tell me then?

You can't get rid of her, but I can.

Dad.

I insisted on coming here.

Don't make it hard for Li Ruosheng.

Also,

I have a confession to make.

I have started getting involved

in our group's business.

What do you mean?

Didn't you ask Mr. Glasses

to work with Li Ruosheng?

But Mr. Glasses didn't do as you say.

He purposely made Li Ruosheng look stupid

in front of our usual dealers.

In the end, I had to step in

to convince Xu to continue the shipment.

This isn't a collaboration.

He's obviously trying to sabotage you.

Nonsense!

It was you who convinced Xu to deliver the goods?

This is ridiculous!

I just can't stand

how Mr. Glasses likes to bully

Mu Qing and Li Ruosheng.

Before this, he framed Mu Qing

and wanted to take him out.

And now,

he's plotting against Li Ruosheng.

Dad, if you don't believe me,

just call Xu and ask him.

Let him tell you what happened.

That's enough.

Aren't you preparing for a big deal?

You need trustworthy people around you.

I'm doing you a favor

by helping Li Ruosheng.

Why won't you let me help?

Besides,

I've already gotten myself involved.

It's too late for you to do anything.

I won't allow anymore nonsense from you.

Get out.

Fine, I'll leave.

Mu Qing is coming with me.

He's not going anywhere.

From now on, he must live here.

He must not leave my sight.

Why?

"Why?"

I want him to. That's why.

-Mu Qing. -Kexin.

Listen to Mr. Ou.

Mr. Ou, I will stay here.

Ruosheng.

Get her out of here.

Yes.

Come on.

Take your hand off me. I'll go myself.

Shao Nan.

Sir.

Take Mu Qing to the tea room and wait for me.

This way, please.

Sir.

About Xu...

That's enough.

Contact our men in Yunnan.

Look into it again.

Yes.

Ms. Ou, you're really something.

Are you happy now?

Not only did Godfather find out that you're still here,

but he also knows you're helping the group.

How much trouble will you cause me?

This isn't something you can hide.

Besides, I was only helping you

so that Dad would know what I'm capable of.

I would be an idiot to not let him know.

I don't need your help.

I really don't get it. You...

You're a woman.

Why do you want to get involved in the group?

What exactly are you thinking?

If I get caught,

my whole life is done for and that's it.

What do we do now?

Mu Qing is being confined by Godfather.

What do we do?

Don't worry, he'll be fine.

How can I not worry?

How can he be fine?

He's still useful to my dad.

If my dad had wanted to hurt him,

he would have done it already.

Fine.

Even if Godfather won't hurt him,

Glasses will.

If my dad won't hurt Mu Qing,

would Glasses dare to hurt him?

What would he tell my dad?

He has done it so many times.

This isn't his first day.

More importantly, he's guilty right now.

He still hasn't settled his own business.

He won't have the mood.

Don't worry, he'll be fine.

Get in the car.

Come in.

Rong Yu just informed me.

Yuanwen has indeed been confined by Mr. Ou.

But he's safe for now.

Rong Yu has also told Mr. Ou everything.

She insisted on joining the business.

Mr. Ou was furious.

But there's nothing he can do about it.

It seems like

Ou Zhenhai is holding Yuanwen hostage

to find out what he was doing

while he went missing for the past month.

We should give our men in Yunnan

a heads-up about it.

Don't worry, I've already informed them.

Tell Rong Yu this.

Infiltrating Group K's business

is only a process, not her goal.

The hardest part is done.

The rest will be easier to deal with.

Okay, I'll contact her.

Okay.

Until Glasses come back with the information he gathered,

you still have some time.

If he finds out something had happened,

then these few hours

will be the last moment of your life.

Mr. Glasses.

I'm sure this guy named Wang Wen

is the Mu Qing you are looking for.

As soon as I heard from you,

I sent my men to investigate it right away.

It's true.

a young man was staying here.

After all, no one really checks

anyone's ID at the border.

Coincidentally, I have a friend

who is working part-time at this inn.

I was only able to confirm it

after seeing the man in the CCTV footage.

Are you sure these photos

were captured from the CCTV footage?

I'm sure.

Okay.

Thank you.

So it seems like Mu Qing was really in Yunnan.

Even if it's true,

I won't let him get away with it easily.

Captain Rong.

I did what you told me to do.

Is there anything else I can help with?

That's all for now.

Zhang, thank you.

Don't mention it.

This is my mission too.

Yungang Public Security Bureau

Luckily, you were able to connect with Glasses two years ago.

You're Glasses's only connection in Yunnan.

Otherwise, it would've been difficult.

So I must thank you for it.

When you've completed your undercover mission in Yunnan,

I'll buy you a meal.

I'll hold you to that.

By then,

I'll make sure I get a big meal.

Yungang Public Security Bureau

Please do.

-Bye, Zhang. -Bye.

Yungang Public Security Bureau

Zheng Ke.

Yimeng.

Well done this time.

Good job.

It's just a simple photoshopping task.

It was a piece of cake.

It's not easy for us

to interrogate criminals.

Do we get rewarded with a hot pot?

You haven't finished your work yet.

And all you can think of is food.

Yimeng, let me take you for a hot pot.

I'm not eating it with you.

I will. We'll go.

-I'll go. -We'll go.

You've promised. We'll have a hot pot together.

Fine.

I'll buy everyone a hot pot tonight. All right?

All right.

It's a deal.

Let's go to our usual place.

Sir.

Although there's evidence to back up

Mu Qing's whereabouts for the past month,

I still have doubts about him.

You have my support in suspecting Mu Qing.

But you lost Mu Qing

and caused so much trouble.

I didn't blame you for it.

You pretended to work with Li Ruosheng but plotted against him.

I turned a blind eye to that too.

But my daughter got involved

in the group's business.

Don't tell me you didn't know about it.

But you hid it from me

just like Li Ruosheng.

I know how you feel.

You must have thought

that at a time like this,

you would get an earful from me

if you were to tell on Li Ruosheng.

But have you thought about this?

If anything happens to Kexin,

who will I blame?

After all,

I put you in charge of this business.

I'm sorry, sir.

I didn't think it through.

But I don't care

how Li Ruosheng defames me behind my back.

My only goal

is to complete what you asked of me.

And I must make sure I do a good job.

What about Mu Qing?

Until he's proven

to be completely innocent,

we can't use him.

What do you think we should do?

It's time for him

to prove his loyalty to you.

Mr. Li.

How is the preparation of the goods?

It's ready.

But Mr. Glasses said things have been tense lately.

We'll ship it after everything dies down.

Here. Thank you.

Thank you, Mr. Li.

Thank you, Mr. Li.

Don't just thank me.

I give you these incentives

so that you can eat and sleep well.

Don't fool around.

What are you doing?

You mean this?

It's the traffic police officer

that Xu brought back that day.

He's inside.

Why is he still here?

Put some big boulders in there

and sink it.

I wanted to do that too.

But Mr. Glasses said

we must make his death valuable to us.

He'll be very useful to us tonight.

How can a half-dead traffic police officer

do us any good?

You're here, Mr. Li.

You're here too, Shao Nan.

What are you guys planning to do?

Mr. Glasses said

that it's none of your business.

What are you waiting for?

Move it.

Mr. Li.

Kexin.

Hey, where did you go?

I texted you, but you didn't reply.

I was working in the warehouse.

The connection was poor.

Let me tell you something.

A few days ago, when Xu was transporting the goods,

he captured a police officer.

Mr. Glasses was going to kill him off.

But he was taken away a while ago.

They said he'll be useful.

Something doesn't feel right about it.

A police officer, you say?

It's just a traffic police officer.

What do you think he can do

with a traffic police officer?

Kexin, are you listening?

Yes.

Glasses won't let Mu Qing go so easily.

How about this?

Put a tail on him.

I'll call my dad and ask about it.

I want to know how Mu Qing is doing.

That's all for now.

Mu Qing.

Get up. Come with me.

Where are we going?

You'll see when we get there.

Hello.

I suspect someone

is setting Mu Qing up tonight.

What happened?

That traffic police officer earlier

was taken away by Glasses.

I called Mr. Ou just now.

I asked to talk to Mu Qing.

He made up some excuses and rejected me.

So I think

Mu Qing must have been taken away too.

These two incidents must be related.

I understand.

Have you located Mu Qing yet?

Not yet.

Okay, I'll figure it out.

I'll get back to you in ten minutes.

Please hurry.

Captain Rong.

Although Spectre is our highest priority,

but we can't risk our officers' lives

to achieve our goal.

So here's my suggestion.

We should stop this right away.

Stop this?

Won't that give our undercover agent away?

If things get out of hand,

not only will we be risking

the officer's life,

but our undercover agents' lives will be at stake too.

Mr. Bao is right.

We can't forcefully stop

this loyalty test.

We need to find another way.

Do you have any ideas?

NX042.

Five years ago,

in China's industrial weapons group,

a subordinate weapons development department in Yungang

developed a batch

of non-lethal ammo.

The main component of the warhead

is a strong anesthetic.

Its outer layer is made of ingredients

that can easily dissolve in human bodies.

Its main purpose

is to ensure the bullet stops efficiently

and at the same time,

stun the target with the anesthetic.

This project's code name is NX042.

But its production is very expensive.

It wasn't mass-produced.

There was only a batch of samples

that were distributed to the military

and Public Security Bureaus.

But coincidentally,

Yungang Municipal Public Security Bureau

was one of the test departments.

I did some research.

The caliber measurements

are 5.56, 5.8, and 7.62.

And the 7.62 caliber

matches the caliber of Big Black Star,

a type of bullet commonly used by drug dealers.

It's also known as Type 54.

Tell me about your plan.

My plan

might be a little risky.

I understand it's a risky plan.

But this is our only way.

Where are the bullets?

I'll go get them.

The caliber is on the envelope. Look carefully.

Understood.

Attention, everyone. Get ready to move out.

Hey, Kexin.

I was about to call you.

I can't reach Mu Qing.

Isn't he with Godfather?

Where are you?

I'm on my way to Glasses.

Send me your location.

Rong Yao, I just sent you the location.

Hello, Mr. Li.

Glasses's car just went up the mountain.

The car with the traffic officer is at the mountain now.

Okay.

I hope they didn't find you out.

I don't think so.

Okay, keep following them.

I'm coming over now.

Mr. Glasses, everything is ready.

Get Mu Qing here.

Later on,

if he doesn't kill him,

kill them both.

Yes.

Mr. Mu.

This way.

Mu Qing.

I called you out in the middle of the night

because I need you to do something.

Kill this police officer.

This is what Mr. Ou wants.

Please don't blame me.

Mr. Glasses.

Killing a police officer is a big deal.

Things are tough for the group both inside and out.

Mr. Ou knows that too.

Now, you want to get our hands stained

with the blood of this police officer?

To be honest,

Mr. Glasses, you should advise Mr. Ou

to think this through,

not use him against me.

You're right.

But...

we can only do as Mr. Ou says.

Please.

Mr. Glasses.

Have you done this before?

I've never done it before.

But...

you have to do it.

-Boss. -Where are they?

They're up there.

Here. Let's go this way.

This is your idea, isn't it?

Mu Qing.

I'll give you five seconds.

Either...

you shoot this police officer in the head,

or...

I'll shoot you in the head.

You choose.

Five.

Mr. Glasses.

Aren't you afraid

of getting shot for this?

Four.

Three.

Two.

Fine!

I'll do it.

Captain Rong, do we shoot to stop them?

Don't be hasty.

Just wait.

Yes.

Glasses.

I want to see Mr. Ou. Now!

Mu Qing.

Do you know the consequences of your actions?

I've always hated you.

But I didn't want to kill you.

But you...

colluded with Li Ruosheng and Ou Kexin

to plot against me and kill me.

Tell me.

How can I let you go?

Shoot!

What's wrong, Mr. Glasses?

Why are you making a lot of fuss?

Why are you here?

If I hadn't come,

my friend would've died here.

This is what Mr. Ou wants.

He wants him to prove his loyalty.

Prove his loyalty?

What are you talking about?

If he shoots the police officer to death,

that means he's one of us.

If he doesn't,

then he's a mole.

You still don't trust him, do you?

Okay.

If that's what Godfather wants...

Mu Qing.

Just do what Godfather says.

Mr. Glasses keeps suspecting

that you're the mole.

Prove to him that you are not.

Shoot him.

Shoot him!

She's finally here.

What?

-You mean she's... -Yes.

She's our top secret.

What are you guys doing?

What's going on?

What are you people up to?

Kexin.

Step aside. It's none of your business.

I can go away.

But he's coming with me.

Mu Qing, let's go.

Stop right there.

Kexin.

I just found out myself.

Godfather is giving Mu Qing

a loyalty test today.

Once Mu Qing kills the police officer,

he will not be suspected

as a mole anymore.

Am I right, Mr. Glasses?

Mu Qing.

You're not a mole.

You wouldn't do this to me.

Kexin.

Let's see how he performs.

Glasses.

You don't trust me at all, do you?

Are you happy now?

He fired his gun

and the police officer is dead.

Is that enough?

This isn't over.

Come on.

Bury the body.

You guys follow them.

Save him when you can.

Yes, sir.

How many secrets have you kept from me?

It is not my secret either.

It's a mission.

Your idea was good.

It was nicely executed.

Let's get out of here.
