And The Winner is Love

Episode 5

On the day of the Hero Assembly,

someone saw Chief Wang

lingering around the room where manuals were collected.

This is suspicious.

Well…

I’m letting you down.

Although I went to the same school,

with him,

we had no connection

after I exit Silver Whip School.

I had no idea what he did.

So,

I’m of no help in

what you are investigating

Hey.

Send them out.

Wait a moment.

Why are you so hasty?

I’m afraid that

you might have some secret.

Nonsense.

I have always been

open and above-board all my life.

You can’t say something like that

to ruin my reputation.

Reputation?

You just said you don’t care about

your own reputation.

What?

So, why did you suddenly

start to care about that?

If people know that

you replaced Wang Yinya with someone else,

I’m not sure

if you can

still maintain your reputation.

Non, nonsense.

Nonsense?

Okay.

Send Wang Yinya out and confront us.

After the Hero Assembly,

Wang Yinya didn’t return to Silver Whip School.

Instead, he came to Xiangzhou.

Had it not been a secret intelligence, it would be hard for me to know.

But you

introduced him

openly to everyone

on a full-moon-birth feast.

It seems like you’re afraid that no one

would know he’s in Xiangzhou.

It’s so strange you did that.

Except that

you had also been a part in

stealing the manuals.

Well…

Well…

So, if you

really want to see Wang,

then,

come with me.

Take care.

Watch your step.

Walk slowly.

Why is it

so cold here?

There was a cave before.

I changed it to a cellar.

It’s far from the floor.

So,

it’s cold here all year.

Aren’t you taking us to Wang Yinya?

Why are we here?

He’s inside.

Please come here.

Please.

He’s dead.

To be honest,

Wang Yinya

died two days ago.

How…

How did he die?

Hero Fu.

Can you tell us what happened?

Actually,

Wang and I were both confident

in being the master of Silver Whip School.

But eventually,

the person who became the master

was him.

After I left the school,

I came back to Xiangzhou.

I had been upset and down for a while.

But it suddenly occurred to me

that I just don’t

belong to this world.

For all these years,

I had had no contact

with him.

But two days before

my child’s full-moon-birth,

I got his letter.

It said

he would come to celebrate for my child.

I didn’t know his purpose.

So, I had to wait and see.

After he

arrived at Xiangzhou,

I let him stay

at my house.

Have a drink.

It’s very kind of you.

Don’t say that.

So,

why did you

come to Xiangzhou?

I’m going to attend the Hero Assembly in Dongdu.

It’s not far from here.

I haven’t seen you for ages.

I miss you a lot.

I’m supposed to visit you.

Listening to your words,

I feel regretful.

You’re the master of the school.

You must have been very busy.

I’m idling around.

I’m the one who should visit you.

Actually,

the reason I came here is

that I want to ask you a favor.

Well…

You already

know that…

I quit your world

many years ago.

I have no capacity to

control what’s happening now.

Now that you’re here,

I have prepared a room for you.

You can live as long as you like.

Yeah.

Come on.

Have a taste of the desert.

Although

I had no contact

with him

all these years,

I know best

his personality.

He’s cunning.

He pursues fame no matter what.

He’s aggressive.

He had always been trying to

turn Silver Whip School into a prestigious one.

So, he will risk anything to do that.

But this time,

the Nine Moves of Lotus God was stolen

during the Hero Assembly.

Although I’m not sure if

it’s done by him,

I felt weird

for his presence here.

But I couldn’t refuse him

since he said he wanted to see me.

But on the night

before my child’s full-moon-birth,

I went for him.

Yinya.

Yinya.

Yinya.

Yinya.

Yinya.

Do you mean he’s already dead

at that time?

Yes.

It’s the truth.

He came to you alive and good.

But he died in your house.

You made that up,

right?

What do you mean?

Although I took the different path,

at least we’re from the same school.

I shouldn’t be so silly to kill him in my house.

What’s more,

if I had killed him,

I wouldn’t mourn him.

So,

why did you secretly mourn him

and replaced him with someone else

on your child’s full-moon-birth feast?

Listen to me.

I found something else

when I found him dead.

What?

He had no things

beside him all the time.

One is his silver whip,

and the other one

is his badge.

When I found him dead,

his silver whip and badge were all gone.

The badge is the symbol

for Silver Whip School.

To see the badge

is to see the master of the school.

Apart from that,

the newly-selected master

shall gain this badge as well.

But now,

it’s gone.

If apprentices of the School know it,

they would be afraid and confused.

I had no way out.

I invited an anonymous

to replace him.

Hero Fu,

you meant well.

But it’s not a good way.

Even if you can

temporarily hide it from his apprentices,

they will eventually

know the truth.

I know.

I was intending to

gain more time.

After I find the badge,

I will

release his death to the world.

So, I could maintain

the reputation of our school.

You just said

you don’t care about your reputation.

But now,

you are suddenly protecting your school’s.

Of course, I care about that.

You’re the master of Hall of Flames.

Don’t you know that?

Hero Fu.

Did you find out

who killed Wang Yinya?

I’m ashamed.

I checked carefully

his body after he died.

I found no superficial injuries

and internal ones.

I had no clues.

I really don’t know

who killed him.

No superficial injuries

and no internal ones?

Do you mind

me having a check?

Please.

[Yuelai Inn]

I’m back.

You’re back.

Little beggar.

Please have a seat.

Aren’t you in Dongdu?

Why are you here?

I’m afraid he would learn nothing

wandering in streets.

So, I brought him along.

I didn’t know

you’re such a kind person.

I stole and lied to people

for a living.

But I swear that

I wouldn’t be bad again.

I’ll lead a life all by my ability.

I’ll be a useful person.

It’s good that you know

you’re wrong and could correct it.

Will you continue selling your paintings?

I want to be his assistant.

I will study together with him,

learn martial arts,

become a hero and fall in love with beauty.

Enough.

Childe Shangguan.

We want to adopt him.

What do you think?

Good.

Great.

Young Master,

shall we take him back?

So,

we’ll have a brother then.

There will be a brother in the Hall of Flames.

The elders will be pleased.

Yeah.

Right?

Yeah!

Right?

It’s definitely better

if you can have him.

But it depends on your master.

Young master.

Are you willing to follow us?

Definitely.

Good.

Then, we’re a family now.

What’s your name?

I don’t have one.

They call me little beggar.

You can call me whatever you want.

Little beggar?

It’s not appropriate.

Now that you’re the apprentice of our school,

you deserve a name.

Right?

Then how about a name like ours?

Agate?

Or Emerald?

These are girls’ names.

It’s bad.

Childe Shangguan.

You took him back.

How about

giving him a name?

This…

This is a little difficult.

Are you hungry?

Eat this.

Since your belly likes to growl,

we’d better call you Gugu.

What do you think?

Gugu?

It’s good.

That’s nice.

Let me ask you.

What will

your name be?

Gugu.

[Yuelai Inn]

I have always

thought that

I’m the poorest person in the world.

But until I have seen them today,

I know that

I’m so fortunate

if I compare myself with them.

For all these years,

I never worry about food and clothes.

Until I leave the Hall of Flames,

I started to understand

how this world is.

I should feel ashamed

in front of you.

Childe Shangguan,

you are a kind man,

it’s enough.

You can’t decide your own identity.

Don’t be worried.

Actually,

I’m not worried about this.

Now that Wang Yinya died,

the chain of evidences broke here.

Nine Moves of Lotus God was gone.

I’m afraid the world is going to be in chaos.

As Young Master

of Hall of Flames,

I really think

I’m inept.

Actually not.

We haven’t investigated

the reason of Wang Yinya’s death.

You don’t need to console me.

You have done

enough for me.

Look at that.

It’s so beautiful.

Come on.

You’re just

like the crystal,

pure and sparkling.

I hope you can stay in winds

and never fall into the dirt.

No matter how dark

the night gets,

you’ll still shine like this glowworm.

It’s just like the hope we have in our life.

Don’t be

upset and discouraged.

You’re right.

Even if

this little fire fly

is trapped in my hand,

it still

shines vaguely.

I won’t give up either.

I’ll find out the manual.

After you find it,

what’ll you do?

I’ll revitalize our palace,

and become a Young Master

no one can look down upon.

What about you?

What’re you going to do

in the future?

Me?

Have a guess.

You have

such superior martial arts

and good reputation.

I can’t

think of that.

Some things

are limited by one’s ability.

Some thins

are designed by one’s fate.

If you wake up one day,

and you find that everything around you

is just fantasy and illusion,

what’ll you do?

Have you had any difficulties?

If you need a hand,

please tell me.

Although I’m weak in martial arts,

I’ll definitely do it for you

no matter what.

No matter what?

Why?

Because you helped me.

You can’t help me resolve

everything as you wish to.

But remember that

you promised me.

You’ll give something

most important to you

after you find the manual.

I did.

You can take anything you want from me.

I won’t regret it.

Cheju,

why don’t you have any reactions?

And you don’t like to talk,

just like wood.

I’m wood.

But can you tell me

when did you enter Hall of Flames?

And what have you learned?

Tell me.

Tell me.

Wood.

Wood.

Childe.

Do you have a good talk

with Xuezhi?

I had intended to report something to you.

But seeing you two so sweet together,

I thought I can’t bother you.

What do you want to report?

The opponent is a professional.

Leaving no trace of flaws.

Any news about Wang Yinya's

Silver Whip and badge?

No.

Childe.

What happened?

You sister knew that you are in Xiangzhou

and she asked me to invite

you there tomorrow

I see.

Go back and tell the her

I will go tomorrow.

Childe.

She knew

you are with a girl.

She asked you to take the girl

together to her palace tomorrow.

I’ll excuse myself now.

Childe Shangguan.

How did your sister know we are together.

Xiangzhou is the realm of Lord Lu.

My sister is his wife.

It was normal that she knew.

That is Lord Lu.

Hurry up.

Be careful.

Let's go.

Lord Lu is supervising everyone's work.

He does not fear the bad weather.

Instead, he sets an example.

It's not easy.

Come here, Tou.

Your highness.

Tou.

Your highness.

Please sit down.

Sit down.

Sister.

Look at you.

I haven't seen you in a few days

You are also a lot thinner.

If it's too tired outside,

come home.

You have no idea

how worried your family is after you left?

You don’t need to be worried. I ’m good.

Oh, yeah.

Why

is Lord Lu absent?

He went to inspect the dam.

There are days of heavy rain. The emperor sent a message

to let him supervise the dam reinforcement

I see.

Looking at you closer,

you are more beautiful.

What is your full name?

Chong Xuezhi.

Young Master of Hall of Flames, Chong Xuezhi?

You have heard of the Hall of Flames?

It’s famous in this world.

I've heard about your name before.

But the impression of Hall of Flames

has changed

because of your presence today.

Unexpectedly, the Young Master of Hall of Flames

criticized by the world

is such a delicate girl.

Tou, what do you think?

Yes.

I’m flattered.

Since you are a friend of Tou,

then you don’t have to be so formal.

Call me sister as well.

Yes, sister.

Relax.

Sister, I saw the beautiful flowers outside

in the way here.

Did you care for it?

Yes.

When I am free,

I plant flowers and plants with my husband.

You like it too?

Then I will ask the maid

to take you for a walk in the garden.

Ok.

Tou.

Why are you with people from all over the world?

What’s more,

it’s the controversial Hall of Flames.

What I did

was just to complete a task

given by others.

In fact,

I like her.

I'm just worried about you getting involved in the disputes.

Since I can retreat from the hall,

naturally, I won't get involved

in the muddy waters of world.

You needn’t to worry about me

Tell me.

Do you have a crush on that girl?

You should know,

you are about

the age of marriage?

I am always thinking about it.

Sister.

There are still many unfinished things.

It’s too early

to mention this.

Never mind.

I can't control you anymore.

Take it into consideration.

Come on.

Sister, have some tea.

Childe Shangguan.

Your sister is really thoughtful.

She also arranged a carriage to take us back.

She is afraid that it will rain and we have nowhere to hide.

Your sister has a very good relationship with you.

But…

Why didn't you want to see her before?

Because of Lord Lu,

I just hope my sister will be safe and happy in this life.

She is now a concubine.

Why isn’t she happy and safe?

The royal family

is filled with lies and desires for power.

How can she be happy?

Emm…

Why did your sister marry Lord Lu?

At that time,

there were many famous people to come to marry her.

But my elder sister didn't take any one.

She just fell in love with this one.

He’s not so smart.

He also has no support in the family.

Having listened to you,

the royal family

is much more dangerous than my world.

The point is

you can retreat from this world and live in isolation.

But as a royal member,

he can never stay away from disputes.

You don't seem to like Lord Lu.

Can't say I like it or not.

I don't know well.

As long as my sister likes it, I’m okay.

Some people also said that our Shangguan family

attaches to the great.

They’re afraid it's for

the power balances.

If this is the case

she really sacrifices herself.

It has been raining for three months

non-stop.

It can ruin these crops.

Gosh.

Spare us.

who live a life by the sky.

If you are hanging out,

be careful.

Don't go to the Twelve Channel.

Thank you for reminding.

You are definitely not from Xiangzhou.

-No. We’re… -How do you know?

I saw how two of you dressed.

I knew you came from Dongdu.

I've been working here for decades.

You two

are really like married couple.

We are misunderstood.

Why don't you explain?

No harm.

Why should we get angry?

You…

I lived in a noble family since childhood.

I often share the carriage with the boudoirs of the nobility.

We were often treated as arranged betrothal of minors.

But,

after adulthood,

this is the first time to share a carriage with a woman.

The seafood we ate today is quite fresh.

But,

this place is not close to the sea.

Why is the seafood shipped without spoilage?

It’s simple.

They’re shipped with ice cubes.

Coachman.

Let’s go to Fu Yiya’s mansion.

Okay.

Didn’t You two

already checked my brother's body?

Why should you check again?

You said that day

there were no superficial or internal injuries.

Then this is strange.

Theoretically,

Wang is a master of martial arts.

There should be very little pain.

Sudden death is only possible because of the murder.

If you are hurt, you will leave traces.

Why did he leave no trace?

In fact,

there are many masters in martial arts.

Someone can kill you in one move

without leaving any scars

After a few days.

the wound will gradually become visible.

But three days have passed since the last inspection.

Why didn't we find anything?

Its’ because of this perennially cold cellar.

It can not only slow down the decay of the body.

At the same time, it can also delay the time for the wound to appear.

It's just like

the seafood delivered by coachman.

They are kept fresh with ice cubes.

I found it.

No, no, what is this wound?

Like a petal.

Nine Moves of Lotus God?

This is impossible.

Nine Moves of Lotus God?

Isn’t this your unique martial art in Hall of Flames?

It was your people

who killed my brother.

Someone?

Take this demon girl down.

I trusted you

and let you examine his body.

How should I forget it?

You’ve had a long grudge against him.

Come here, take them down.

Wait.

The Nine Moves of Lotus God is the manual of Hall of Flames.

But except my father,

no one else has control of it.

Besides, your brother Wang Yinya died with this scar.

It means that the thief has already begun to practice it.

Go on, just make up it.

How can someone practice

the Nine Moves of Lotus God so quickly?

Although it is difficult to practice,

those with high internal strength

can also practice to the third move in a short time.

What I said is absolutely true.

As a leader,

you can’t even protect your manual.

I can't believe what you said.

You.

Fu Yiya.

Please think carefully.

If we are really murderers,

can we be so stupid to come here?

Come here?

You two just are

deliberately trying to kill me, right?

Are you?

Are you OK?

Fu Yiya.

How dare you hurt her?

No, Childe Shangguan.

You can't talk nonsense.

Yes, you hit me.

I didn't hit the leader.

Right?

How about this?

That’s all for today.

Go,

in case I would hurt you in a while.

What happened after

what you told me?

I don’t know yet.

Look at that.

Now these young couples are…

-How are they cuddling together openly? -Gosh.

-Yeah. -Yeah.

Childe Shangguan.

This is still daytime

Put me down.

You are hurt.

Don't move.

Everyone is here.

Look at that?

Are you better now?

Young Master, are you okay?

Young Master.

I'm fine.

Leader, what happened?

The thief already practiced

the third move of Nine Moves of Lotus God.

But why did

this man kill Wang Yinya?

Maybe Wang Yinya already knew his identity.

So, he was killed.

Is it possible that

two people are already enemies?

Not so likely.

Is it possible that

Wang Yinya stole the manual and come to Fu Yiya?

Fu Yiya wanted to take the manual.

So, Fu killed him.

It’s absolutely impossible for Fu Yiya

to practice the Nine Moves of Lotus God.

I think the person

who stole the secret,

is above us, whether it’s martial arts or age.

But now Wang Yinya is dead.

There is no clue.

You don't have to sigh.

Maybe there is a clue that can help us.

Wang Yinya's Silver Whip and badge.

Yup.

This person took away

Wang Yinya's Silver Whip and badge

definitely for other plans.

But,

what is it then?

Sell them to make money?

Defamation?

What?

To prevent others from investigating himself

and creating false evidence to frame others.

I think you are right.

I didn't expect you to say that

since you look like wood all the time.

From tomorrow,

we will start investigating from these two things

OK.

Fu Yiya now has doubts about us.

He will definitely watch us.

Don’t be exposed.

He is the most proper

person to do it.

Sister, why are you looking for me?

Gugu, I want to give you a task.

Starting from tomorrow,

help me look for two things

One is Wang Yinya’s badge,

another one is his Silver Whip

I got it.

Young Master.

There is someone sneaky there.

Tan Yi of the Shangqing Sect.

Don't go.

Zhusha.

But he saw us.

It’s ok.

We didn’t do anything bad. We don’t need to be afraid to be seen.

It seems

we’re not the only ones here in Xiangzhou.

I knew that they are here.

They may already have clues.

Don't act rashly.

Yes.

Master.

Shall we

continue to spy?

Definitely.

I must find the Nine Moves of Lotus God.

No one wants to get ahead of me.

Yes, master.

Father.

Xiangzhou is really lively now.

We really didn't come in vain.

Everyone is planning something.

While staring at Chong Xuezhi,

you also need to know the actions of each school and sect.

Yes.

[Lord Lu’s Mansion]

Zheng.

Your Highness, aren’t you tired?

You work so hard.

No.

It’s hard for the disaster-hit people.

Your Highness, have a seat.

By the way,

today I invited Tou to come to the mansion as a guest.

Tou?

He came to Xiangzhou

to visit you?

No.

He is with the Young Master of Hall of Flames

to deal with something.

Isn't Tou not dealing with people

from the martial world?

I am also curious.

So, I sent someone to inquire.

I heard that it seems that the Hall of Flames lost its manual.

This matter makes it very difficult

for the Hall of Flames.

As for why Tou joins in.

I do not know either.

The dispute in martial world

sounds pretty interesting.

Your highness.

This is a letter from his Royal Highness.

[To Lord Lu]

What does the Prince say in the letter?

He asked if you need help?

Help me reply to him.

that his kindness was received by me.

I still have other arrangements.

Please don't worry about me.

Yes.

Your Highness.

What are your plans?

Zheng.

Go help me invite Tou.

and his friends from the Hall of Flames.

I want to see them.

[Yuelai Inn]

What happened?

What is this?

This is scary.

What are you doing?

What am I doing?

I’m catching you.

You murderers

who killed Wang Yinya.

Still want to run away?

Young Master.

Fu Yiya.

Why don't you believe what I said?

Magistrate.

There is no evidence in what Fu Yiya said.

It’s completely false.

It will be known

after the official court.

Everyone, let's go.

Take them down.

Do not move.

What are you doing?

You want to oppose the government?

Lay down.

Lay down.

I'll go with you

Young Master.

He is right.

We can't be against the government.

Magistrate.

Since we were falsely accused,

then I’ll believe that you

will definitely prove our innocence.

Take them away.

What happened?

Yes.

What's good about being caught by the government?

[Hall of Flames]

You said that the Young Master went to Xiangzhou.

Yes.

There’s clue for Nine Moves of Lotus God.

Great!

Grandpa, how are you doing recently?

Since you came back,

his body has been much better.

That's good.

Grandpa.

You must eat and take medicine on time.

I’ll go to Xiangzhou first,

and bring the Young Master back.

Wait.

This is a request sent by the Ministry of Defense and other schools and sects.

They asked us again for weapons.

Making weapons is the livelihood of Hall of Flames.

It’s also our commitment to the martial world.

But they’re making it difficult for us

They only give us limited time.

The Huashan Sect wants 500 spears.

Commandant’s Mansion wants 100,000 feather arrows.

Grandpa, this…

This is making us busy.

They want to take this opportunity

to find the Nine Moves of Lotus God.

Don’t worry.

I will take charge of

forging weapons.

[Prefecture Office of Xiangzhou]

Your words are flawless.

But if there is no real evidence,

I will not convict you.

I have sent someone to search for evidence.

The truth will be revealed immediately.

Magistrate

Magistrate, I found it.

these two things in their room.

It’s impossible.

We are not on site.

Evidence retrieved in this way.

cannot be believable at all.

Magistrate.

They’re feeling guilty.

Fu Yiya, don't injustice others.

You guys want to condemn us without investigating carefully.

Why are you unreasonable?

Enough.

Someone.

Put them all in jail.

Yes.

What are you looking at?

Go.

Hurry up.

Go.

[Yuelai Inn]

Gugu

Gugu.

Brother.

Why are you sitting here alone?

They were arrested by the government.

What?

Good.

Yuan.

Grandpa.

Grandpa, you haven't fully recovered.

What are you doing here?

I’m much better,

so, I come and see you.

Yuan.

As long as you are here,

we can overcome any hardships,

no matter how big they are.

I will stay here.

Grandpa, don't worry.

It's so smoldering here.

Go back and have a rest.

Send him back.

Come on.

Anyone?

Anyone there?
