This is the place

where I have found three corpses before

That's right

Get the corpses out first

and stop the carriage away

Okay, go

Go, go, go

They are here, let's go

Go, go, go

Boldly attacking officials

Don't you want to live any more?

Which government office are you from?

Who asked you to collect corpses?

Who are you?

Are you qualified to ask me?

Am I qualified by this?

Am I?

Sir, calm down

We are just

following our boss's order

Take me to your boss

Okay, okay!

I'll take you there right now

Boss

This can't be saved

Inspector Department

Does Southern Chu have this department?

The case ought to be stopped here

There's no need to investigate now

Why?

We had a hard time having got this far

Anyway, stop here

Let's go back

Ling Long

Boss, but

Now that you're here, what are you hiding from?

Come out!

I beg you to forgive me, Princess Li

I didn't mean to offend

I really have something to discuss

In order to avoid those people in the palace

I took such an unwise decision

Princess Li?

Why not call me mother-in-law anymore?

Look at your sad face

Did you quarrel with Ling Long?

If we really had some spats

then it doesn't matter

Last night

after the secret conversation with you

as we went back, her attitude to me

is as cold as frost and ice

I want to know why

What do you think?

Maybe

There's something she wants to hide about the wolf king energy in her body?

The reason why Ling Long did it

is to protect herself

and also to protect you

Lady, you've been writing for a long time

Take a break

You're just in time

The money we have earned before

was all in uncle's drugstore

Right?

Yes

The drugstore sent the accounts every month

And I've checked them all, no problem

Take this handwritten book to take 50000 taels of silver

According to this invitation

prepare a gift for each royal elder

and invite them to the ceremony after five days

in which I'll have an audience with my father

But Lady

Didn't you say we need to avoid meeting them?

Some people, some things

I can't avoid but

to face them sooner or later

Lady

Why do I feel so insecure?

It's even better to be in Western Turk than now

To be a pawn is free from worry

Why don't we go back to Western Turk?

Don't get involved in this mess

It's enough

Do as I say

Princess Li, Lady is...

I heard it

Princess Li

Please persuade Lady!

I've been with her for so many years

but I have never seen her look so bad

Just do aswhat she said

But... but...

Princess Li

It's so late, why do you come personally?

If there's something wrong, just let Xiaojin pass on a message

Uncle

There is no time to elaborate on the inside story

Ask your family to pack up immediately

Leave Southern Chu after dawn

OK

Besides

I've said a few years ago

Buy a secluded house

and it can't be in your name or mine

Already prepared

It is very secluded

I've let one of the elders of the family take care of it

You can rest assured

Good, I'll use it in a few days

Get him ready

Is it so urgent?

OK, I'll arrange it

I have to go

Uncle, remember

You must leave tomorrow

Ling Long

You are an independent child

I never meddle in your business

But this time

you must be careful

Princess Ling Long, please stay

Here's an invitation from Fourth Childe

Ling Long

Whatever you're planning

stop right now

You have guessed what I'm going to do

If it's not a matter of life and death

you would never

come to your uncle personally

You're risking your life

You send someone to keep an eye on me

Why?

You've known it for a long time

who's behind the scene

Right?

How did you know that?

In Miya's secret chamber

I found some letters

These letter paper

are specially used in the Southern Chu Palace

I've seen it before

These paper letters are indeed for the Southern Chu royal family

There are people from the Southern Chu royal family?

Things in the secret chamber

You've already seen it?

You've already known who wrote the secret letter

but pretended that you didn't know

And then lead us there deliberately

I'm not sure at the beginning

Then

I saw you steal that secret letter

So I'm sure

Someone who can make you lose your manner

It can only be that person

Why did you do this?

I

I don't want you to be so close to my second brother

And because of that wolf king Xue Yin

you've suffered so much

I thought after you read the letter

you'll give up

After all, he's been a shadow for you as you grow up

Ling Long, let me take you away

We'll leave Southern Chu

Leave this prison that has held up you

and Aunt Li for half a life

If the prison is that cold palace

I surely can just go away

But the prison

is in my heart

Where am I supposed to flee to then?

What are you going to do?

Tell me and I'll do it for you

I am now the Vice Envoy

And also Leader of Battalion

They dare not to defy me

This can not be solved

with pure violence

What's more

this is my own business

No others can substitute me

I don't care

I won't let you

get off the carriage

Even if you hate me

and don't want to see me again

It doesn't matter

I just want you to be safe

Be safe?

During the past eighteen years

I've been worried all the time

like walking a tightrope

If I have to live my whole life that way

Please tell me

What's the point?

Ling Long

I swore to myself

I'll protect you all my life

I will never watch you doing those stupid things

Since childhood

whenever I came across difficulties

you will stand by me

being considerate to me

I feel so grateful

but also scared

I am scared

that I will become increasingly used to your protection

Won't that be good?

I'll have to untie my heart knots myself

Yan Yu

Don't you understand?

What I truly need

is not such so-called protection

Brother

What do you mean?

Mother-in-law is so worried about you

Go back now

Our words just now

How much did you hear?

Just now

I heard him saying that you were going to risk your life

And these stupid guys

came here to cause troubles for me

And then, I got rid of them

Right?

Well

Why don't you stop me?

Since you've decided

Why should I stop you?

Brother

It's not the right time to be impulsive

Mother-in-law is really anxious about you

Go back now

Listen to me

By the way

Could it be dangerous on your way back?

There is a small gate behind the Cold Palace

Some guards and servants often go out buy wines from there

It is loosely administrated

OK, got it

Make it quick

Bro Tong is here to see you off

No problem, boss

Ling Long, Ling Long

Stop it! What are you doing?

Even if you want

will you make it?

And will it change anything?

Why don't you just bring Bro Tong down?

Second Brother, if you let her go now

you will definitely regret afterwards

If you don't let her go

you will regret in future

What do you mean?

Do you have any plan?

I want to say

whatever you are planning

you shouldn't put Ling Long at risk

Do you hear me?

My plan

is written down here

Whether you agree

or not

after you read it

remember to burn it

ok?

By the way

You'd go back now and rest

Tomorrow's gonna be a big show

See you

Brother

Is there any news from father?

Lord Yan has already

accepted the cause of death of wolf king

and no longer oppose the marriage

Great

It's just

Are you really gonna bring this matter on?

I can't find the truth

Do you think I can live with that?

Go and tell wolf guard

everything is going on as planned

Aren't you worried for Ling Long?

Understood

Mother, Ling Long is here to greet you

Come in

Mom

What are you doing?

My daughter is going to see the emperor

I surely should accompany her

Mother-in-law

You are going there, too?

As the fiance of princess

I never see the emperor before

I have to be well mannered

Mr. Misa

The emperor is seriously ill

I have to get him the medicine

No

You can't go there

Lady

Lady

Eunuch Chen has arrived

The Emperor orders that

The Emperor orders that

Princess Ling Long

Childe Yan Qing

and Concubine Li go to see him right now

Take the imperial edict

I heard that, emperor isn't in good condition

Mr. Misa is a widely known and highly skilled doctor

I'd like to recommend him to emperor

Your highness, thank you for your kindness

Then, we may go there together

Thank you, Eunuch

When does Eunuch

become so easy-going?

It took me a lot of money

Let's go

OK

Your Majesty

All right, stand up

The Princess comes back home

and you vassals are here to greet her

The Princess has made great contributions to our Southern Chu

Now she has found her fiance

As the elderly, we are here to congratulate her

I have brought valuable medicines

fine jades, and rare elixirs with me for Your Majesty

Good, an outstanding man

and a perfect match to my daughter

Ling Long made great contributions to the rapprochement between the two countries

I hereby grant you a reward of 500 kilograms of gold

and some top-grade silk

for the family of Yan from Western Turk

Thank you, father

It's my obligation to serve my country

Concubine Li

Who is this guy in white beside you?

Your Majesty

This is Doctor Misa

He is widely known by the people

He will definitely cure your illness

I'm Misa

Your Majesty

I admire your majesty

and feel kind of scared

Even death cannot atone for my offence

All right, stand up

Concubine Li is always concerned with my health

and teaches my daughter well

She also deserves to be rewarded

Thank you, Your Majesty

Fiance of the Princess

You have seen him now

and I'm tired

That's all for today

May I ask my mother and Yan Qing to leave first?

I have something else

to tell Your Majesty and my uncles

How about we talk it some other day?

It is related with the survival of Southern Chu

which cannot be delayed

Please allow me to present

Are there foreign enemies

going to attack us again?

Your Majesty, since the matter is crucial

Let's listen to Ling Long first

As it is a family business of Southern Chu

we are inappropriate to hear

We will leave now

Your Majesty

I will leave as well

Fine

OK, go ahead

Have Your Majesty and my uncles ever heard

the serial murders happened in the city?

No wonder

The victims were either new comers

or beggars on the street

They are insignificant

Ling Long

No, they are not

They are also citizens of our Southern Chu

What Vassal Yonglie said is absolutely true

Due to the responsibility of guarding the land and protecting the citizens

Ling Long has investigated

the serial murder cases

There are a total of seven corpses from both the victims and the criminals

All of them are outside the Imperial Palace

What's wrong with you, Your highness?

Don't scare me

I suddenly feel kind of dizzy

This symptom happened to me before

I just need some rest

your highness

You are too tired

which turned into illness

You do need some rest

Isn't she a concubine of the emperor?

Why would she be ill out of tiredness?

Eunuch Chen

I wanted to ask you this long before

I am now engaged with Ling Long

Why would her mother still live in the Cold Palace?

Is he looking down upon our Yan Family?

No, Second Childe

Don't misunderstand us

Qing'er

Don't embarrass Eunuch Chen

It is me who insists to stay in the Cold Palace

You know

I like serenity

Yes

I would like to swear on my life

I never cheat on the foods and clothing

for Her highness

Cut the crap

Find a place for us to have a rest

Right

Well

OK

Follow me

Come on

Concubine Li

Childe Yan Qing

If you need anything

just ask them

Servant

Concubine Li is indisposed

Take good care of her

Yes

Your highness

Then, I'll leave for now

Thank you, Eunuch Chen

Is everybody here?

That's how it went on

Now

the earth kiln outside the city has been sealed up

All the corpses have been registered and recorded at the bureau

Those narrowly escaped beggars

also provided their testimonies

They used human blood to make medicine?

This is witchcraft

In broad daylight

how could this be happening

in the capital city?

Yeah

Ling Long

You did quite well

You deserve to be rewarded

The case has not been solved yet

Father, you'd better wait until Ling Long

apprehends the culprits

So to speak

you have someone to suspect?

Before that

Yan Qing and I discovered a Black Robe Organization

They used similar witchcraft

to make the so-called elixir

With our own hands, we arrested

leader of that organization

His name was Miya

Miya used this bamboo whistle to control his subordinates

and to kill someone knowing his secrets

Coincidentally, there was someone in black at the kiln outside the city

who came to disrupt our investigation

He also used a similar bamboo whistle

If I remember it correctly

this skill of killing someone unknowingly

is a lost knowledge from crooked heresies of Southern Chu

You mean

Among those crooked heresy masters, there is Miya's accomplice?

More than that

this heresy master

passed all he knew to Miya

helping him perpetrate crimes

But

Heresy masters of Southern Chu

All of them work for Inspector Department

Yes

Those heresy masters

have plenty of disciples

while some of them might go astray

That's inevitable

Yes, yes, yes

It is highly likely

The guys helping the prime culprit to dispose the corpse and destroy the evidence

have been arrested by me

They have

similar tokens with them

Tokens?

This is?

Inspector Department

How is that possible?

The tokens of Inspector Department

Inspector Department is led by His Majesty in person

Ling Long

Is it possible that you are deceived by someone?

Uncles, you are more experienced here

Would you please identify

whether the token is genuine or fake?

Well

Yeah, no doubt

That's from Inspector Department

It is genuine

Seems that

I fail to control Inspector Department properly

This problem matters to the stability of our country

Please seal up Inspector Department immediately

Anyone involved in this

should be executed to ensure the stability of our country

and to pacify the folks

You are right

Vassal Yonglie has always been loyal and honest

I will assign

this task to you

As you wish

Wait

What else do you want to say?

It is reasonable that Inspector Department be sealed up

But the real culprit behind is not in the department

Where is he?

This is the letter written by the culprit to Miya

He used the special paper for the royal family of Southern Chu

This is truly the same paper as that we use

Are you suspecting our royal family?

Take it easy, Second Uncle

This paper is different from yours

Really?

I can't tell the difference

The difference lies in here

My mother used to diagnose illness

for the eunuch who administrates the paper

According to her

the special paper used by His Majesty

should be scrutinized by Inspector Department

So

When making the paper

craftsmen would press a subtle mark at the corner for identification

In other words

paper with such subtle mark

may only be used by His Majesty

Well

It might be that

someone from Inspector Department used the paper without the approval

If that's true

why didn't he cut off the mark

in case of being exposed?

Ling Long

What are you suspecting of?

You'd better think it over before you speak

In the past 18 years

Miya, from an outcast

built the Black Robe Organization across the country

slew numerous lives

and was still able to escape

There is only one reasonable explanation

The man who supported him and hidden behind all of this

Will do

is the emperor of Southern Chu

How is that possible?

A load of crap

You said I was the accomplice of Miya

Why don't you bring him here to confront me?

You knew Miya was dead

You are not able to acquire

the elixir from him anymore

So you desperately

make medicine with blood

and committed several murder cases in the city

Okay, okay!

You are such a good daughter of mine

The dead cannot give any witness

How dare you tarnish your father?

Where's your respect for Southern Chu

for the elderly

and for me, your father?

You want evidence, huh?

OK

Don't hide anymore

Everyone has seen it

What's wrong?

Your Majesty

What happened to you?

You've been taking the elixir

Now, you abruptly stopped

Its power intrudes your body

so he perishes faster than his age

It's so stupid of you

As the emperor of this country

how could you be so blind?

If this scandal spreads all over the country

there must be a chaos out there

Correct

How could this be happening?

If the blood of vagrants and beggars are useless

What are you going to do next?

Are you planning to use the blood of royal family instead?

The blood of royal family?

Such being the case

It's time to make the decision

I suggest

according to the rules of the royal family

Your Majesty, please claim illness and abdicate right now

Elect another capable man to administrate Southern Chu

Your Majesty

Considering the situation now

that's the only option left

Your Majesty

We have to keep this confidential

from the public

We agree

Are you impeaching me?

You'd better figure out

if you are able to leave here alive first

Where is my man from Inspector Department?

Here

This is?

What do you want to do?

All the people here are elders and brothers of our family

Are you going to kill your families?

Forget about brothers

Forget about blood relations

Anyone who dares to challenge me is my enemy

My dear daughter

Do you have any last word to say?

It

makes things simple now

Thank you for

making the call for me

What do you mean?

I was vacillating

and thought you might be forced into this

Now I realize, you are purely evil

During the past eighteen years

I've had a knot in my heart

I don't understand

why you did this to me

What made you think I didn't deserve to be your daughter

Now I understand

you don't deserve to be my father

Stop it

You are my daughter

but you go against my will

I give you life

and I can take it back at any time

Even a vicious tiger will not eat its cubs

You can't

Don't move

And you

my dear brothers

I'm going to drink your blood

The more you like threatening others

the more you are afraid of death

Right?

How could you have the power of wolf king in you?

Ling Long dares to stand here today

because I never thought of leaving here safely

Even if I am going to die today

I will not allow you to continue your vicious actions

with the lives of innocent people

Ling Long, please don't do that

Yan Qing

Ling Long, I'm here

Charge

Come on, let's go

Move up

How are you?

Why are you so silly?

How are you doing, Ling Long?

Are you OK?

She's fine

Fortunately, the power of wolf king is not initiated yet

which didn't hurt her tendon and vessel

Why do you come?

How could you be so silly?

If I didn't come

Are you going to die for this?

Ling Long

What did I teach you often?

Qing'er came all the way here

to find out

the cause of death of his mother

You acted on your own

It's so inappropriate

I

Rest assured, Ling Long

Leave it to me

from now on

How did Wolf King Xue Yin die?

Answer me

I don't know Xue Yin

You are lying

You forced Wolf King Xue Yin to die

Concubine Li

You betray me, too

I am never loyal to you

Let alone betrayal

Concubine Li

eighteen years ago

The royal family of Southern Chu did send soldiers to save Wolf King Xue Yin

We were witnesses

It is concerned with national affairs

Please be cautious when speaking

You are all cheated by him

What happened?

At that time

Out of nowhere, he managed to know

the secret of the power of wolf king

So he wanted to take possession of it

in order to be immortal

To do that, he instigated influential officials across the country

to attach Xue Yin

But he disguised himself as a savior

and took Xue Yin back to the Imperial City of Southern Chu

In order to keep the whole action secret

he killed or imprisoned

all his wives and concubines

By then, I just gave birth to Ling Long

and I was jailed in the Cold Palace with my daughter

I planned to wait until Ling Long was older

and I would pretend to be dead with witchcraft

so as to take her out of this place

Unexpectedly, an accident happened

which completely changed the life of us

I remembered that

Xue Yin figured out your conspiracy before the marriage

and narrowly escaped with severe wound

When she passed by the Cold Palace

she suddenly found that

Ling Long had a rare body to foster wolf heart

What are you doing?

Let go of my kid

I beg you

Please leave my kid

I'm sorry

I am forced to do this

Xue Yin knew she was going to die

But the wolf heart was concerned with

the survival of all the people of the Wolf Family

and it should not dissipate

or end up in the hands of bad guys

She had no choice

but to hide the wolf heart in Ling Long

Later on, I got the message

In front of many soldiers

she jumped into the volcano

making people think the wolf heart

was gone with her

She kept her promise with her life

I thought the death of Xue Yin

could wind down the whole matter

But that person

refused to stop

He spared no effects to kill the Wolf Family

and to extract their remaining power

from the Wolf Family

As for this, I had no choice but to suppress the wolf heart with a gold needle

and took Ling Long silently

live a suffering life in the Cold Palace for eighteen years

That was the only place

for us to stay safe

Could the so-called wolf king power

really make people immortal?

There is no such thing

in this world that can make people immortal

Are you OK?

It is the law of nature to be dead some day

If anyone goes against the law

you will be exactly like him

I didn't expect

after so many years' pursuit

the wolf king heart is actually in my daughter's body

Ling Long

For the sake that we are father and daughter

hand that wolf heart to me

and save your father's life

The wolf heart belongs to the Wolf Family only

I have no right to give it to others

What's more

you are also the culprit who got Wolf King Xue Yin killed

But you are my daughter

How could you just watch me die?

No one can inherit the power of wolf king

If you try to take possession of it forcibly

you will die faster

As long as there is a glimmer of hope

I will give it a shot

If you take the wolf heart by force

she will die

You are risking her life to save yourself?

She's my daughter

I give her life

She is obliged to sacrifice for Southern Chu

and her father

From now on

I'm not your daughter anymore

You are no longer the Seignior of Southern Chu either

I have no obligation to sacrifice for you

OK

Since you are so stubborn

Don't blame me for being ruthless

Be careful, it's the sorcery of Southern Chu

Back off

Mom

What's going on?

Seven days ago

Misa and I sprinkled medicinal powder

all over the palace through the waterway

Those who practice sorcery

are very sensitive to this poison

They got poisoned long ago

But

the effect needs to be triggered

by the usual diaphoretic

Mom

That's why you asked me

to wait for 7 days

My silly girl

If the young rabbit is hurt

even the mother rabbit will rush up and bite

How dare you hurt my daughter in front of me?

How dare you?

Give up your resistance

Do you really think I lost?

You underestimated me

Maybe

You've done sorcery on them for a long time?

Yan Qing

Kill all of them if you can

The Second Childe of Yan slaughters the royalty members of Southern Chu

Then the war between the two countries will last forever

If I can't live

I'll let everybody die with me together

You...

What are you...?
