Episode 36

Take care of things at the shop.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Shut up and just leave.

Don't come back.

-I'm going. -Hurry up.

Custom-tailor

Hello.

Director Liu, I have important news.

Spectre will come to Yungang next month.

Next month?

Do you know the date and location?

I don't know yet.

I'll keep digging.

Be safe.

Also,

Mr. Ou wants me to leave Yungang quickly.

I need a reasonable reason to stay here.

Okay, I understand.

I'll discuss this right away.

I'll get back to you promptly.

I'll wait to hear from you.

Why did they choose this place?

Where's Glasses?

Listen.

Next time, I'll deliver a mermaid

to your house directly.

Sure.

Come on.

Mr. Glasses.

Ruosheng, why are you so late?

Come in.

Sit here.

Let me introduce you.

This is Feng.

He's in charge of herbs in our group.

Call him Feng.

Feng, I'll drink to you.

Glasses.

You must keep your promise

about the mermaid.

Here, have a drink.

You have no idea.

After my wife opened that fish's belly,

guess what's inside.

A diamond ring!

Tell me, who could be so rich?

He didn't get the girl.

So he threw the ring in the sea

and a fish ate it.

You're so lucky.

Right.

This is Xu.

He's the mailman of our group.

Without Xu,

our goods could have never left Yungang.

Come on, do a toast.

What are you talking about, Glasses?

How am I moving the goods for Group K?

I'm sure I'm moving the goods for you.

If it weren't for you,

methamphetamine is so troublesome,

I'd rather smuggle iPhones

using two speedboats

in Shenzhen and Luohu like I used to.

If the police catch me,

it's only for a couple of years.

It's better than this.

Am I right, guys?

Ruosheng, do a toast.

Xu, cheers.

Who do you think you are?

You're also calling me Xu.

Then what should I call you?

Mr. Glasses calls me Xu.

Should you also be calling me that?

What's the matter?

Is there no clear division

of authority in Group K?

Is the hierarchy all messed up?

Glasses, I have to criticize you.

Yes.

Your subordinate is getting cocky.

If you bring him out,

aren't you afraid of getting humiliated?

-You're really... -Xu.

Listen to me.

Ruosheng isn't my subordinate.

We're partners.

Partners?

You're partnering with a rascal like him?

Is there no one else in Group K?

What do you mean?

Do we need your permission

to choose our people?

Is your mouth foul from eating all those seafood?

Who did you say has a foul mouth?

If the shoe fits, wear it.

Say that again.

Are you scaring a little kid?

Ruosheng.

What are you doing?

Li Ruosheng, right?

Yes.

I'll remember you.

-Xu... -Stop.

Glasses.

Starting tonight...

No.

From this second onward,

I won't ship

any of your goods.

Xu.

Xu.

Don't go, Xu!

Glasses.

Let me remind you.

He's so reckless.

If you work with him,

he'll trap us in a puddle sooner or later.

Feng, I'm sorry.

I'll apologize to you next time, Feng.

Ruosheng.

What are you doing?

Mr. Ou wants to foster your talent.

So I can let bygones be bygones.

I introduced you to these people.

Do you know?

The people who sat at this table

have had a good rapport

with our group for years.

Your godfather and I fought with our lives

to gain these good friends.

Now, a few words of yours ruined it.

Let's see how you'll explain

to your godfather.

Xu.

Thank you for today.

I need to trouble you

to call Mr. Ou later.

Talk about Li Ruosheng's performance today.

I know.

You're helping me.

You're in for a treat.

Okay.

All right, Xu.

That's all.

Okay, bye.

Mr. Glasses.

I can't believe that idiot Li Ruosheng

really drew his gun.

In my opinion,

he's just a kid,

yet he tried to go against you?

He doesn't stand a chance.

He's just an idiot

who has no chance of winning.

Mr. Ou assigned him to me.

Could it be

that Mr. Ou doesn't trust you?

It's not that he doesn't trust me.

Spectre will come to Yungang soon.

Three out of the Four Vajras have fallen.

He hopes

that someone can put up a facade.

He doesn't have the right to do that.

What happened today

was just to teach him a lesson.

Spectre is coming.

At a time like this,

who can make things happen

and who can mess things up,

I'm sure Mr. Ou knows.

What was I thinking at the time?

I suddenly drew my gun.

I offended a few old men.

Godfather called just now

and scolded me.

He asked me to apologize to Xu.

How should I apologize?

Let me tell you.

You fell for Mr. Glasses's trick.

What do you mean?

Did you arrive on time today?

The meeting was at 6 p.m.

I arrived at 5:50 p.m.

When you got there,

did they already have one round?

I guess they were almost done.

You came last and you're the junior.

I'm sure Mr. Glasses

would introduce you to everyone.

But the way he talked

would make everyone feel like

you're his subordinate.

They won't take you seriously.

Besides,

Mr. Glasses knows you're impatient.

Xu must have used it to humiliate you

and embarrass you in public.

He can checkmate you in front of my dad.

Actually, I thought the same thing too.

But now that you mention it,

it proves that I was right.

How did you survive?

In the past, the fight between adults

are all handled by Mu Qing.

Isn't he gone now?

I've searched the entire Yungang,

but I still can't find him.

If he doesn't come back now,

this will be big trouble.

What are you doing?

Hey!

I spent half a day folding them.

No, I can't go.

If I leave now,

I don't know where Mu Qing is.

I'll never get to see him again.

It's not that serious.

You have to help me.

How can I help you?

Help me stay.

Am I crazy?

If I help you stay,

will Godfather still keep me?

How could you watch me

and Mu Qing get torn apart?

Are you my friend?

If I can make Xu continue

to move the goods,

you'll do well in front of my dad.

Then he'll stop being mad at you.

Will you help me?

Who?

You want to help me?

Forget it.

How would you know if you don't try?

Tell me exactly what happened.

Come on.

Mr. Xu.

I heard you're a Northeasterner.

You haven't returned in years, right?

So you're Mr. Ou's daughter.

Yes.

I heard a lot about you from my dad.

Miss, that's nonsense.

Your dad doesn't even know me.

Mr. Xu, how can you say that?

You've been here for so many years

and you're also a tycoon.

You're forthright.

Even if my dad didn't mention you,

who would not know you?

Am I right?

Mr. Xu.

I was too impulsive yesterday.

I'll drink as punishment.

Ms. Ou.

I'm just trying to save your reputation.

That was why I agreed to meet you.

I've been in the industry for decades.

I had never seen anyone

dares to draw their gun in front of me.

I can't let him get away with that easily.

Of course you can't.

Mr. Xu, don't worry.

I won't let it slide.

Last night,

my dad has relieved him of his post.

Mr. Xu, from today onward,

I'll deal with everything.

How about this?

From now on, with every delivery,

I'll give you an extra 2%.

An extra 2%?

That's too little.

I'll give you 4%.

That's my maximum.

You're a woman.

Can you be in charge?

Of course I can.

Mr. Xu, what's wrong with being a woman?

Are you looking down on me?

All right.

I've always heard

Northeastern ladies are forthright.

How about this?

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

I'll empty the glass.

I'm afraid you won't like this one.

Mr. Xu, I'm sorry.

Mr. Xu.

What do you think?

"A wise goose never lays a tame egg."

I finally understand the strength

of the Ou family today.

So be it, 4% it is.

I'll arrange a shipment for you this afternoon.

Thank you, Mr. Xu.

Thank you, Mr. Xu.

Why did you do that?

That was too fierce.

Nobody drinks like that.

Here, let me help you.

It stinks.

I did it for you, didn't I?

How was my performance?

It was great.

Okay then.

Mr. Xu is taken care of.

You still have Glasses.

Do you remember everything I taught you?

I remember.

It all depends on you now.

Xu agreed?

When did it happen?

This afternoon.

I went to see Mr. Xu.

He promised me.

But in return,

I have to give him an extra 4%.

An extra 4%?

Are you crazy?

How could you decide this on your own?

Believe it or not,

I'll report this to Mr. Ou now.

It's okay, Mr. Glasses.

I've reported it to my godfather.

Are you saying

that Mr. Glasses is pocketing 4%

from Xu's delivery fee

behind my dad's back?

That's right.

This 4%.

Mu Qing discovered it before he left.

He said it was a small issue

and even if we had told Godfather,

we couldn't crush Glasses.

Even if we can't crush him,

let's scare him to death.

What should I tell Glasses then?

Just say...

When Mr. Dakun was here,

Li helped us with transportation.

Godfather gave him 7%.

After you took over Dakun's business,

you found Xu.

But you only gave him 3%.

Is that true?

I'm trying to save our group some money.

You did save money.

But where's the money you saved?

I heard from Godfather

that you gave Xu 7% too.

Am I right?

Godfather told me to do business with you

because there's no one else he can use.

He only sent me there

to make us look good.

But in this business,

you're in charge, Mr. Glasses.

All these things are behind the scenes.

On the surface,

we have to get along.

Once we have a united front,

the outsiders won't laugh at us.

So despite our differences,

at this moment,

it's better to back off.

Otherwise,

it means you're picking on my godfather.

What do you think, Mr. Glasses?

We haven't seen each other for a day.

I see you've improved.

You flatter me, Mr. Glasses.

In the past two years,

I've learned a lot

from you, Mr. Glasses.

Okay.

As you wish,

I'll give you a hand.

That's good.

Thank you for the tea, Mr. Glasses.

I'm off, Mr. Glasses.

You don't have to see me out.

How did he become so smart?

Someone must have given him a tip.

A tip?

Have Mu Qing come back?

Hello.

Xu.

What's wrong with you?

You...

What?

Kexin went to talk to you?

Okay, I understand.

Ms. Ou?

Why did Ms. Ou help him?

Find out where Kexin is.

I'll ask her in person.

Yes.

That's great.

You can still eat.

I've been drinking all day

and I didn't have anything to eat.

Don't talk about me.

You vomited so horribly just now.

Now, you can still drink.

Don't you know soul-returning alcohol?

I dealt with Glasses for you.

Don't forget what you promised me.

You have to help me stay here.

Well, I...

Are you going back on your word?

I'm not saying I won't do it.

I'm just thinking.

How should I tell my godfather?

The walls have ears, right?

If you stay in the studio,

he'll find out sooner or later.

Isn't Mu Qing's apartment empty now?

I can move there.

No matter how resourceful my dad is,

he wouldn't think that I'd be there.

Why are you staring at me?

How similar.

What's similar?

Similar to Mu Qing.

The idea you come up with.

That feeling is exactly the same.

Time flies so fast.

When I first met you outside the station,

you cried and shouted.

You looked like a little girl.

It hasn't been long.

You're so mature now.

You're so smart.

Between a man and a woman in love,

even IQ is contagious.

I wonder how Mu Qing is now.

He'll be fine.

I also think he'll be fine.

It will be okay.

Come on.

Let's drink to Mu Qing.

You haven't heard from Mu Qing yet?

No.

But I'm still looking for him.

That means you haven't found him.

Whether he's dead or alive,

we have to find him.

He knows too much about the group.

I understand.

How are you?

Are things okay with Ruosheng?

We're fine now.

I'll handle my relationship with Ruosheng.

Don't worry.

Okay.

You helped me to stay behind.

I owe you one this time.

Don't say that.

Don't tell anyone that I'm here.

Don't worry.

Ou Kexin is moving

into Li Ruosheng's house?

But as far as I remember,

Mu Qing's house is across Li Ruosheng's.

Ou Kexin and Mu Qing are a couple.

Mu Qing's house is across Li Ruosheng's.

Could it be that Mu Qing is back?

Or he didn't leave at all.

Mr. Glasses.

Should we rush in and take a look?

Don't be impulsive.

Keep an eye on them.

I'll be right there.

Yes.

Why is the password different?

I changed it.

I'm afraid it's not safe.

This is a backup card.

Set it yourself later.

You should go in first.

I need to go out.

Call me if you need anything.

Okay.

Mu Qing.

Why did you come back?

Don't you know how you trick me to leave?

I did it for your own good.

Your work is done.

Why did you come back?

You can't do this alone.

You need me.

From now on,

I'm officially back.

My mission is to help you replace Glasses,

seize the group's core power,

and catch Spectre.

Did the bureau agree to this?

Director Liu hasn't agreed?

I don't know if he agreed or not.

I only gave him your proposal

as my own proposal.

In the end, it's up to him to decide.

Okay, I get it.

I've been thinking.

If Director Liu doesn't ease off,

what should I do?

Does Spectre's case

have nothing to do with me anymore?

My well-designed plan to drive a wedge between them will fall apart.

Ou Kexin is facing Group K on her own.

Will she be in danger?

The more I think about it,

the more flustered I get.

Director Liu agreed.

He wants me to help you

get back into Group K.

Thank Director Liu for me.

Don't celebrate just yet.

Group K is looking for you.

Going back at a time like this

will make you look more suspicious.

Under high pressure,

if you make the slightest mistake,

it can be quite fatal.

It not only threatens

our operation to catch Spectre,

but it also threatens Skylark's safety.

If you go back to Group K,

you'll face a more complex

and dangerous situation.

Are you capable of handling it,

completing the mission,

and protecting Skylark?

Of course I'm capable.

Don't worry.

I won't let Skylark be in any danger.

Okay.

I believe you.

That was what happened.

Director Wang and Director Liu agreed

to let me help you.

Also,

I know everything now.

What do you know?

You're not Ou Kexin.

I have one more thing to tell you.

Skylark isn't the real Ou Kexin.

Skylark isn't the real Ou Kexin?

Then who is she?

The real Ou Kexin

died three years ago in Matsumoto's hands.

The current Ou Kexin

is just like you and me.

She's just a civilian police officer

affiliated to the Drug Task Force of Provincial Public Security Bureau.

She's my subordinate.

I turned her into Skylark.

As for her real name,

I'm sorry.

I can't tell you yet.

Director Wang, you're not telling me everything.

It's the rules. I know.

You're not Mr. Ou's real daughter.

You're my comrade.

To be honest,

I had been wondering the same thing.

Why would Mr. Ou's

beloved adopted daughter

try so hard to help us?

Even if Mr. Ou did terrible things,

but he still raised you.

You wouldn't have come this far.

Of course.

If I'm not your comrade,

who else could I be?

Anyway,

thank you for coming back to help me.

Since you're thankful,

don't trick me into leaving again.

Kexin.

It's me, Mr. Glasses.

Are you in there?

Kexin.

Open the door.

I want to talk to you.

What should I do?

Get the door.

I can't.

They are after you.

Kexin.

I know you're in there.

Open the door.

If you don't open it,

I will have to find another way.

Listen to me. Open the door.

Mr. Glasses.

Why are you here so late at night?

You brought so many men.

Where is Mu Qing?

Mu Qing?

He has been gone for days.

I'm looking for him too.

Why would he be here?

I saw him come inside.

You'd better give him to me.

Otherwise,

neither you nor I will survive this.

It's so late.

You brought so many people here.

Aren't you afraid I'll come after you first?

Please move aside.

You can't go in.

You can't enter!

Do you hear me?

Stop right there!

Don't you dare move forward.

Kexin.

I just want to find Mu Qing.

I don't want any trouble.

Please understand.

Search the place!

You can't enter!

Mr. Glasses!

How is it?

Did you find the person you were looking for?

Aren't you afraid that I'll go back

and tell my dad what happened today?

It doesn't matter if he knows or not.

Let me tell you something, Kexin.

You used your dad's name

to do business behind his back.

Aren't you afraid he'll find out

and think differently of you?

What he thinks is his business.

It has nothing to do with you.

Besides, this is my family matter.

Aren't you afraid that

I'll tell my dad all those things you did?

Xu's matter is just a warning.

I'm telling you.

Don't try to harm Li Ruosheng

by pulling a trick behind his back.

Or I'll get you in big trouble.

That's all I have to say.

It's late.

Please leave if there's nothing else.

Give us some privacy.

Yes.

Kexin.

You seem to be mistaken about me.

Okay. I'll take your advice.

I'll be careful from now on.

Please leave.

Hold on.

Kexin.

I was a bit impulsive tonight.

Let's assume

nothing happened tonight, okay?

Good night.

Mu Qing.

Mu Qing.

Mr. Glasses.

Did we make a mistake?

Mr. Glasses.

Mu Qing went away.

But here comes Ou Kexin.

Previously, Mu Qing was helping Li Ruosheng.

Now, Kexin is helping Li Ruosheng.

Shao Nan.

Listen.

Keep an eye on Ou Kexin

for the next few days.

See if she makes any moves.

Yes.

Should we report to Mr. Ou

that Li Ruosheng dragged Ou Kexin

into our group's affairs?

Isn't this a good opportunity

to take down Li Ruosheng?

On a regular day, it's a good opportunity.

But now,

Spectre will come to Yungang soon.

Mr. Ou wants peace and stability.

If I tell on them now,

what would Mr. Ou think of me?

But the matter regarding Ou Kexin

will get exposed one day.

Even if we don't talk about it,

Mr. Ou will find out sooner or later.

Not bad at all.

The sales are going up.

You two working together

is a good thing, right?

Godfather.

Actually, I'm not good enough.

It's mainly due to Mr. Glasses.

He launched a new sales route.

The police couldn't smell anything.

Compared to Mr. Glasses,

I'm nowhere as good as him.

You're being modest.

After learning from Mr. Glasses

for a few days,

even your personality changed.

Sir, Ruosheng flatters me.

If Ruosheng

didn't reestablish the dark web

and got our new regulars back,

even if we have the goods,

we couldn't have distributed them.

That's enough. You two are too modest.

This proves one thing.

You two working together

is definitely a good thing.

Am I right?

Glasses.

I have something to say to Ruosheng.

Why don't you leave first?

Yes.

Where did you send Ou Kexin to?

Costa Rica.

Why hasn't she sent me a single text?

She hasn't been in contact with any of us.

Look, Godfather.

This is her WeChat Moments.

It's by the sea.

Tourist pictures.

She's probably having fun, eating,

and touring every day.

So she forgot about us.

Let her have fun.

It's better to have fun than to stay here.

But now that she's gone,

my heart feels empty.

I didn't see her for decades back then.

But I didn't miss her as much.

That's strange.

I'll call her and ask her to come back.

She has to come back.

But not now.

You're good.

You can pretend

to be so many Group K's buyers.

It's all thanks to Li Ruosheng

for reconnecting the dark web.

But I left three backdoors previously.

He didn't look into them at all.

Captain Rong.

Should we bring up the file

and catch all of them?

Now isn't the time.

Everyone.

I have big news.

Next month,

Spectre is coming to Yungang.

The operation that we prepared for

will then begin.

We can finally begin.

Spectre has been operating for many years,

but he has never shown his tail.

There's no information.

We don't even know where he's from.

We don't know what he looks like.

There are so many people.

How are we going to catch him?

I still believe

that a fox will eventually show its tail.

No matter what, we can't lose

this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

As long as he comes to Yungang,

we can't let him go.

Hurry up.

Hurry up and load it.

You're all here.

Come on, hurry and pack that up.

Xu.

How is the preparation?

Don't worry. It's the usual.
