do you know what this wonderful country is made upit's made up of a hundred different kind of people

and a hundred different ways of talking andÂa hundred different ways of going to church

but they're all american ways wouldn't we be sillyif we went around hating people because they comb

their hair different than ours wouldn't webe a lot of dopes my dad came from italy

but i'm an american but should i hate your fatherbecause he came from ireland or france or russia

wouldn't i be a first class fathead

it's cold and it's gray i'm in loveÂwith this day cause it's christmas

yeah the light in your eyes and thesmile on your face make it christmas

it's a word or a smile thatcan change someone's life

or some change in your pocket justÂto get through the night with soft

this is

cause it's all i can give youthis year this is christmas

it gets harder each year to believeÂin what's real i need christmas Â

it's your love that i miss yeah yourÂheart and your kiss make it christmas Â
