Twisted Fate of Love

Episode 1

The 14th year of Qiyuan

Where am I?

Why am I here?

What?

You come alone?

Seems like

I’m not as valuable as I imagine.

Feng Xi’s Trusted Follower, Feng Jing

What’s going on?

We’ll just wait for the order.

Who are you?

I...

I don’t remember who I am.

Wait.

Xi

He’s Feng Xi.

I have martial arts?

Official of the Ministry of Rites, Feng Xi

Catch it!

A woman?

He’s the target.

Go!

My Lord.

Are you alright?

I’m fine.

My Lord, are you alright?

I’m fine.

Jing.

Keep the assassins’ bodies.

Okay.

You haven’t told me who you are.

All I can tell you

is that I’m not with those assassins.

But I can’t tell you

who I am.

You mean

I should say thank you for saving me?

You’ve arranged helpers around.

No matter whether I helped or not,

you would catch the assassins.

Look,

you’re not completely ignorant.

What a magic flute!

It plays itself.

It seems to be mine.

But in my mind,

I have no memory of it at all.

Thank you for the dress.

I think I should leave.

Why don’t you stay for recovery?

You were wounded because of me.

Here’s the best healing elixir.

My Lord.

Lu Yuantong is arriving at Zhuming Post tomorrow.

According to the scout,

he comes with tens of thousands of soldiers.

His Majesty has dreaded Lu Yuantong for long

and summoned him to deprive him of military power.

Lu Yuantong comes with so many soldiers,

with a clear intent.

Other officials shunned the job

to welcome Lu Yuantong.

Why did you recommend yourself?

To get what we want,

I must do this,

so that I can work with Lu Yuantong

and get a series of successes.

What about her?

We don’t know who she is.

She’s a stranger with high martial arts.

She must be a spy.

We should be guarded against her.

She’s indeed suspicious.

Don’t worry, Jing.

Even if she’s a spy,

I’ll make her work for me.

When I keep her,

I know how far to go.

I can’t play it, but it plays itself.

It’s ilex.

The ilex tree grew itself,

just like you

who appeared without invitation.

Do you really remember nothing,

including your own name?

If I live in this world

and don’t even know who I am,

I’ll be just like plants.

You need a name, at least.

On such a good night,

the ilex blooms.

Why don’t we call you

Dongyue?

Dongyue?

Xi If you have no one to depend on,

come to my mansion in the capital.

You’re leaving?

I’ve got something important to do.

But you can live here.

I don’t even know who you are.

You can see my name on the jade plate.

Feng Xi.

Xi for fate.

Xi

Sir.

The flute makes no sound.

Could you please check it?

Miss.

This isn’t an ordinary thing.

It’s... It’s an evil thing!

Evil thing!

Evil thing!

In the 15th year of Qiyuan,

the Yin State suffered domestic trouble and foreign invasion.

Treacherous official Feng Xi caused chaos in the imperial court.

Political struggles were increasingly fierce.

when people found it hard to survive.

Eryu!

If only I could go back to the days before the war!

I want to take one more look

at the peaceful state.

Eryu

Wen Xin, I won’t let you die.

This flute has my remaining spirit.

Take it with you

and it’ll protect you.

I’ll make you a new body with lotus root

and send you back to days before the war.

This is where I must leave you.

Wish you peace all your life

and never come back to this chaos.

I’m...

I’m really back to eight years ago?

If you have no one to depend on,

come to my mansion in the capital.

Feng Xi.

Xi

Xi for fate.

So, you’re Feng Xi?

The treacherous official

who colluded with Lu Yuantong.

You also take the blame for that war.

As recorded in Capital Journal,

Feng Xi of the Ministry of Rites

Sir, what would you like to eat?

Anything that makes me full.

All right!

Dude.

You look delicate,

unlike a rough man.

I never get tanned.

It’s my gene.

What do you do?

I do the divination on my way

to make a living.

You can do the divination?

Well, dude.

Please give us a divination

about our luck today.

What is destined to happen

will still happen to you.

Boss.

These are guys we sent to kill Feng Xi.

You sent assassins after assassins.

I guess Deputy Prime Minister resolves

to kill Lu Yuantong and me.

When I kill you now,

I can also complete my mission.

Kill him!

Kill them all.

Why are you here?

Keep quiet.

You look different

from what you were yesterday.

I didn’t know who I was yesterday.

Nor did I recognize who you were.

You are a spy sent by the Deputy Prime Minister?

Seems like he’s picked the right guy.

I have something else to do today.

For the sake that you saved me,

I’ll let you go.

You’d better not interfere with me.

That’s what I want to tell you.

Dingyuan

My Lord.

Marquis Dingyuan with his soldiers has gone through the pass.

They’re arriving at the post soon.

I see.

My Lord!

Let go!

Ask your men

to aim arrows at the door.

Kill Lu Yuantong as soon as he steps in!

Or you’ll be killed.

It is not easy to kill someone.

Do it!

Aim at the door!

Dingyuan

Post Dingyuan

Here comes Marquis Dingyuan!

I wonder if you have realized that.

Only you and me

can hear the flute.

Shut up!

You great treacherous official!

Great?

What a pity that I’m not great enough!

In one year, you’ll reach the highest rank.

But in your prime,

you’ll be killed by Lu Yuantong.

I decide my own life.

Feng Jing.

Take her away.

Feng Jing?

You’re Feng Jing?

Feng Jing.

Today, you’ll die at Zhuming Post.

Feng Xi.

If you go and welcome Lu Yuantong,

Feng Jing will die today!

Take her away.

Aye.

Dingyuan

Where is the protocol officer?

Why isn’t he coming out?

Get him out!

Aye.

Where’s the officer?

Minister Lu has arrived.

Open the door and welcome him!

This way, please, Your Grace.

Vice-general Zang Fei Tattoo on their shoulders tells us

they’re with Eagle.

The Deputy Prime Minister sent assassins

to kill me,

and also to frame you up.

I’m here to welcome you under the command of His Majesty.

If I had died here,

you wouldn’t get away with it.

If you’re convict of killing an official,

there’s a reason

to rid you of your military power.

It’s just a gift for our first meeting.

Courtesy demands reciprocity.

What do you want from me?

I want to make a deal with you.

You sound arrogant.

You dare to make a deal with me?

Your Grace, you stay outside the pass

and don’t deal with political affairs.

If you can help me

to make contributions in the court,

I will also

help with your problems.

It’s so scheming of you, Minister Feng.

I won’t let you die alone.

I promise.
