Previously on "Saints & Sinners":

-Mother. -You found me.

He almost died.

I only left him alive as a warning that what would happen to you

if you cross me.

Take the check and get the hell out of here.

You're firing me?

It's bad.

It's felony tax fraud.

This is how you're used to makin' money, wasn't it?

How do I get Victor?

Get him to lose control,

you can control him.

Jabari and I are expecting.

[Laughing]

[Angela Cries Out]

Somebody help me!

Let's get him.

I'll be right back.

Stacia!

[Gunshot] On the ground, on the ground!

It's Ella Johnson, sir.

She's the shooter.

-Bring her to me. Alive. -Yes, sir.

[Dramatic Music]

[Ominous Music]

* Go on, lift your hands give God the praise

* I fell so hard lost my faith in God

* I couldn't even pray so I say

* We're just sinners saved by grace

Going somewhere?

I'm surprised you're leaving town without paying your respects.

I'm sorry. It was an accident.

An accident? You killed my grandchild.

Correction, you killed my grandson.

The only tie I have left to my son, Malik.

I thought it was Tamara in that car, and Kendrick.

I don't pay you to think, I pay you to know!

And to execute my orders. Do you have children, Kareem?

-What? -Actually, that's a rhetorical question,

I know you have two.

Olivia and Jacob.

Please, sir.

-What hand are you? -What?

Right it is.

[Grunting]

You know, you're lucky I care so much about family.

I could take out all my rage on your children,

but I'm not going to do that.

They're not the guilty party,

and everyone deserves forgiveness.

[Screaming Uncontrollably]

Shut up!

Next time I won't be so forgiving.

Now go find Ella and bring her to me.

And Kareem?

Don't disappoint me again.

Austin is still asleep.

-He had a rough night. -Yeah.

You both did.

Thank you for letting us stay here.

I, I didn't have nowhere else to go.

Home just doesn't feel safe after what happened to Stacia.

You know I'll do whatever I can to keep Austin safe.

-Yeah. -Listen,

-I know that we still have a lot to talk about- -I know,

and we will.

It's just right now I need to figure out how to handle Victor.

You know I was supposed to be in that car.

You know, Austin, Miles, we're not safe.

I, I know, and...

that's part of what we need to talk about.

Yeah.

[Sighs]

Miles isn't getting any better.

And the doctor called, and

he says if his condition doesn't improve,

they're gonna move him to a long term care facility.

Oh, my God.

This is all my fault. I mean, I,

I trusted Victor, and

you were right, I-

-Tamara, you didn't send those thugs, okay? -No,

but I fell right into Victor's hands.

I need to stop him.

What're you gonna do? You gonna call the police?

No, I don't have any proof.

Look, if I'm gonna stop Victor,

I have to hit him where it hurts.

Hey hey, it's, it's Tamara.

Can we meet?

[Kendrick Sobs]

[Phone Vibrates]

Hello?

Kendrick, I am so sorry.

Not as sorry as the bastards that did this is gonna be.

[Christie] Kendrick, please,

I don't need you going out there doing anything crazy, okay?

You really shouldn't be alone right now.

I'm fine.

Where are you? I'll come to you. We're family.

No, no.

Kendrick, please.

[Kendrick] No, look I mean, I'll come to you.

I can't be here right now.

Okay, I'll... [Kendrick Sobs]

Kendrick? Hello?

[Somber Music]

[She Sighs]

[Phone Rings]

So you're ignoring my calls?

No, N-n-no Corrine, I...

I'm dealing with a family issue right now.

We need you back at the clinic.

This evening is the next procedure.

I can't.

You don't have a choice.

Oh, nice house, by the way.

See you at the clinic.

[Ominous Music]

Rex, stop!

-Leave me alone! -Will you calm down?

Leona's? Really? Why are we even here?

You're about to get your ass killed.

No, I was about to take Victor out.

You done lost your damn mind.

Rex, I done lost everything.

I lost UpSurge, my Mayoral seat, my real mother.

I have nothing to lose.

You've got your life. Your freedom, Ella.

Now you gotta lay low for awhile.

You got a target on your back.

Nobody will think to look for you here at Leona's.

How did you know I was there?

[Touching Music Rising]

'Cause I know you.

[Softly] I know you.

Thanks.

Paige,

you and me, we've always wanted to build a legacy.

This could be it!

We could do this for Jada, just,

come work with me here at WQCL.

In her office?

In any office! Look,

it's not about her.

It is about her, Bari.

She's carrying your child. [He Sighs]

Do you know what that feels like?

Knowing that this woman,

who did everything she could to keep us apart,

is gonna have your baby?

[Somber Music]

-It doesn't matter. -It does matter.

It does, 'cause I know you.

That baby is gonna mean everything to you.

And she's gonna use that.

I know how she works.

Babe,

you and I, we've beat death.

Angela compared to that is nothing.

And as long as we together, side by side,

we can face anything. Anything, babe.

[No Audible Dialogue]

[Knocking]

Paige Morris?

Babe, you didn't have to.

I didn't.

[Courier] You've been served.

[Dramatic Music]

A restraining order?

From who?

[Angela] From me. Like the bouquet?

[Jabari Sighs] Angela, what the hell are you doing here?

I work here.

No, you're trespassing.

Not according to my lawyer.

See, your wife assaulted me,

and my unborn child, on live television.

I could press charges, but I'm not the vindictive type.

So, you can keep your funky little check.

-I'll be staying on as partner. -No, you won't.

Because Anita wants you out of here as well.

It's not up to you or Anita.

There's someone who outranks you.

Hey, how's it going, partner?

[Ominous Music Swells]

Levi? What the hell?

I knew we couldn't trust this witch.

Paige, this is just business.

I don't see why you have to make things so personal.

Exactly. It's just a business move, Jabari.

Gotta make sure UpSurge gets a fair shake in the press.

Look Mr. CEO,

I'm not doing any business with a pair of backstabbing liars.

This backstabbing liar is the only reason you have WQCL

No! I turned you down. I didn't take your money!

Angela did.

What, you think Anita took a lower bid from you on good faith?

You wanted the station,

I had enough money to help you outbid Victor.

You should thank Angela for being so creative.

Yeah, Levi as a silent partner wasn't a bad deal.

-Though I guess now he's not so silent anymore, huh? -That part.

And we're gonna need to change a few things around here,

the first thing's going to be Paige

gonna need you to leave.

You say another word to my wife and I'll put your ass back in the hospital.

-What the hell is this? -Right on time.

Thank you for coming by, officers.

They're here to enforce the restraining order.

Paige, you need to stay 500 feet away form me at all times.

And that includes in this studio.

Don't touch my wife!

It's just a precautionary measure.

We all know how violent Paige can be.

[Dramatic Music]

Come on, baby.

It ain't over, Angela.

It ain't over!

[Angela Laughing]

Bye!

[Giggles]

You gotta listen to me.

Don't worry. I got you.

I'll be there in a bit.

You gotta stay strong.

Alright.

Hey, was that Kendrick? Is he okay?

-No, that wasn't Kendrick. -Oh.

So um,

who was it?

Wasn't nobody, Ella.

Why are you worried about that?

I'm not worried.

Oh, uh, could you do me a favor, Rex?

Could you check the shower? It feels like it's running cold.

Yeah, I, I'll check it.

[Ella] Thanks.

[Dramatic Music]

[Felicia] Look, Malik, oh...

[Dramatic Music] I'm sorry. Malik?

Come on. Oh, God...

Wake up, wake up, wake up!

[Christie] What you need to do

is let the cops handle this.

Stacia would not want you doing something to get yourself hurt,

or pout back in prison.

But Stacia doesn't really get a say so now, does she?

Kendrick, killing someone is not going to bring her back. [Somber Music]

Or my baby!

I'm so sorry, Kendrick.

You were so honorable

and generous of you to step up

and offer to raise that child as your own.

He was my own.

I can't just do nothing.

I can't just let Stacia and our baby's death go unaccounted for.

-Kendrick. -You don't understand.

Even if I didn't want to kill Victor or whoever is responsible for this,

it's just what I owe them!

What you owe them

is to live

and to be happy!

And to, and to be productive and add something good and beautiful in this world, Kendrick.

No matter what that looks like. Sorrowful Music Playing]

Like you?

[Christie] Like me? [She Sniffles]

I'm a mess.

You gettin' your life together.

You gettin' your medical license back,

-you startin' to help people. -I thought I was.

I wanted to.

But then I just...

I got, I got caught up.

What are you caught up in?

Kendrick I can't, I can't.

Christie, I'm your brother. You can tell me anything.

I've been doing these procedures.

What kind of procedures?

Organ removals.

The organ trafficking ring? [Ominous Music]

The one I got arrested for?

You a part of that?!

I'm sorry Kendrick, I tried to get out,

I promise, I tried to get out,

and I still want to get out!

But Kendrick, they are threatenin' my life!

Just calm down.

-Do you know who's behind it? -No.

I know there is a boss,

but I just don't know who it is.

Do you think it's Victor?

I mean, it's possible.

Girls were going missing.

But I don't know if that was going on before he came to town.

[Ominous Music]

When is your next procedure?

I'm really not trying to get into Victor's business.

You're the CEO of UpSurge.

You couldn't be more in his business.

Levi, he's dangerous.

He confessed he's the one who put Miles in the hospital.

I don't even like Miles.

-Look, what do you want me to do? -Help me!

You must have some leverage.

Convince Victor to leave Cyprus and just leave me and my family alone, please!

-I can help you get Victor out of town. -Really?

Yes, but it'll cost you.

What?

Sell me your shares of UpSurge.

You can keep your board seat,

and the check that comes with it.

That's what you're worried about? It's a generous offer.

He killed Stacia and her unborn child.

-I was supposed to be in that car. -You look pretty healthy to me.

Look, I don't care if Victor burns this whole town to the ground.

I'm just trying to get paid.

I told you Jabari,

This chick will never let us have a moment's peace!

Wha, what do you want me to do?

Hm? I fired her,

you know, I, I took her out of our lives and out of the business.

You the one that attacked her ass on TV!

I'm sorry, what?

You blamin' me for this?

You knocked that tramp up while I was in traction.

-Babe, I didn't even- -No, no! Don't "babe" me!

You did this!

You take some responsibility!

And now this witch is tied to us for the rest of our lives!

I'm not havin' it.

She needs to be handled.

This needs to be handled!

What you sayin'? [Intense Music]

You know exactly what I'm sayin'.

There's a problem, and it needs to be fixed.

I will not allow my life or my marriage

to be controlled by that skank.

If you don't handle her,

I will.

[Brooding Music]

Paige!

Where you goin'?

-Be back. -You be careful.

I will.

Stay inside, please.

I will. [Dramatic Music]

[Pounding on Door]

[Door Breaks Down]

-Stop! No! -Shut up. Shut up!

You scream, I will kill you.

-Do you understand me? -Yes, yes, yes. Please.

-Now who else is in here? -No, nobody. Nobody's here.

Let's take a look.

Don't kill me, please don't kill me.

Don't kill me.

Ah, oh!

No, no please. Please, please don't kill me.

Please don't kill me! [Music Intensifies]

Thanks for letting me stop by.

I don't like to drink by myself.

Usually.

Why are you here?

You said it's something about my father?

Yes uh, I know you don't have the best relationship with him. Malik told me-

Oh no, no, no. You don't know me.

You barely knew Malik,

and what you're not gonna do

is come in here and act like you know about my relationship with my father.

I don't actually care about your relationship with Victor.

Then what do you want?

-Malik left me- -I know.

-Everything. -Right.

But what you don't know is that he left me a sealed envelope.

With some documents.

What's in those documents?

Proof that Malik, Levi Sterling,

and your father were all involved in a money laundering scheme

to funnel cash through New Hope Baptist Church. [Somber Music]

[Felicia Laughs]

Are you serious? It's typical.

All the men stealing all my best ideas.

You have proof.

I did. It blew up.

With Stacia Cunningham.

In a bomb planted by your father.

If what you're saying is true about the money laundering,

there is a paper trail at UpSurge.

It won't be obvious, but it's there.

How do I find it?

You need a financial expert.

-Someone like you. -Someone exactly like me.

But you see, I don't do bombs,

-and I don't play with my dad that way. -Felicia, please.

I need a way to get to proof, I'm desperate.

Victor's gonna kill me!

Get him to confess.

The evidence will follow.

How am I supposed to do that?

Make him think he's won.

Thanks.

You know, despite your differences,

Malik really did love you.

[Dramatic Chord Rising]

[Pounding on Door]

[Paige] Open the door!

Open the damn door, I know you in there! Open the door!

Wow.

You really are stupid, huh?

Showin' up to my house when I have a restraining order?

What is it, hood rats like you just like bein' in jail?

Bitch, you haven't seen hood.

But you will.

See, I been ridin' around

all night,

-tryin' to figure out how I was gonna handle you. -Paige...

do you want me to call the police?

Do you want to be escorted out? Spend the night in jail?

Lose another day way from your daughter?

Bitch, don't mention my daughter.

Aww, Jada's such a sweetheart.

You know, we got really close.

Poor thing.

How long until she realizes she was better off when her mommy was dead?

-Shut your mouth! -Or what? You'll hit me?

I been hit before, by bigger and badder than you.

I bet you have.

See, that's the part Jabari doesn't know.

The real you.

The one who work for Uncle Ray Ray,

turnin' tricks on every corner,

for any knucklehead with a nickel.

Jabari didn't seem to mind my past.

And he certainly didn't seem to mind when we were making our baby, either.

Aww, what's wrong, Paigey?

Worried that he wasn't thinkin' about you?

Worried that I may just have a few tricks up my sleeve that you just can't learn?

-You're trash! -Face it Paige, he's never gonna forget me.

He couldn't even if he wanted to.

But you and I both know that he just doesn't want to.

That's why you're here.

[Angela Laughing]

I've got you so shook you can't even see straight!

Hell,

you were more competition layin' up in the hospital bed

-dead than you ever will be here! [Paige Screams in Fury]

Honestly, I didn't have to change your blood type.

[Dramatic Chord]

I could've taken Jabari away with just a smile.

Wait, what did you just say?

You heard me. That botched blood transfusion,

it had a little help.

But too bad it didn't take, [Music Building]

I could've put you out of your misery.

You did that?

-What? -It was you?

You caused her to get the wrong blood? You,

you put Paige in a coma?

Jabari, there's a misunderstanding.

NO, no, no, there's no misunderstanding, I just heard you.

You were right, babe.

You a monster.

You sick, and twisted!

That, that I have a baby in such a disgusting and soulless body!

-Jabari- -No! You shut up!

You shut. Your damn. Mouth.

You listen to me,

You will die if I ever see you near my family.

And this baby? I don't care what it takes,

I will not suffer you being it's mother for one second!

I promise you!

[She Gasps]

Come on.

Jabari...

Jabari!

Jabari! [Sobbing]

[Corrine] Looks like you made the right choice.

[Ominous Music]

[Gun Cocks] [Foreboding Music]

Just a little insurance.

Don't mess up.

[Ella] I need you to play this. I'm not gonna play this.

-No, I need you to play this. -I cannot.

Look, I am the mayor of Cyprus, I need you to-

What's the emergency?

She won't leave, she wants to play something live.

What the hell are you doin' here?

-I need you to play something. -No, I'm not doing anything for you.

I'm in the middle of a broadcast, get the hell out of here.

Jabari, trust me,

this is a show you don't want to miss. [Dramatic Music]

[Dramatic Music]

Play this on the air, right now.

But we're live, we'll interrupt our broadcast.

This is breaking news, trust me.

Are you sure?

Yeah. [Pensive Music]

Mrs. Calloway,

I've been expecting you.

It's Austin. And you know that, but

why the formality?

I thought we were family.

You never married my son.

I would have.

I would have loved nothing more than to marry your son.

Well, I'm sure you're not here for

pleasantries, all the necessary documentation is

ready, I just need you to sign on the dotted line.

What assurances do I have that if I sign that,

my family and I will be safe?

That you'll leave us alone?

I assure you Tamara,

the chances of you and your son living are slim to none,

if you don't sign.

Thought you might say that.

Well, you should know that when Malik left me everything,

that included proof that you and Levi

were laundering millions of dollars

through New Hope Baptist Church.

[Chuckles] You're overplaying your hand.

Felicia tried to pin that scheme on Malik before he died.

It didn't work then,

-it won't work now. -Right.

But Felicia didn't have actual binding documentation.

Signed and under seal.

You're bluffing.

Am I?

Malik was protecting me.

Even now, from you.

[He Chuckles Softly] What do you want?

What I've always wanted.

Justice for Malik.

Peace in my life. You know, I never wanted Malik's money.

I wanted Malik.

Now, I'll give you want you want.

I'll sign everything over to you.

But if you ever come near me or my child again,

I will ruin you.

Everything will come out.

And trust me on that.

Hmm.

You insolent little girl.

Don't you understand that my resources are

unlimited?

That on top of the financial pain that I can and will cause you,

I...

will...

hurt you.

When I'm done with you, you'll wish you had volunteered

those shares just so you can nourish your son.

Through a feeding tube.

[Phone Rings]

[Kareem] Mr. Thompson, your daughter, Mayor Ella Johnson is on the line.

[Ella] I hear you've been looking for me.

Why don't you turn on the news, daddy?

[Felicia] Malik...

Come on, wake up.

-Wake up, wake up! [Anchorwoman] According to authorities,

there's an APB out for Felicia Thompson,

who is believed to be the primary suspect

in the murder of her brother, Malik Thompson.

former CEO of UpSurge.

[Falicia] Oh God, oh God...

[Ella] Well, well, well...

after everything you've done to destroy me,

your precious sons' killer

was right under your nose the whole time.

Your own flesh and blood. [Ella Chuckles]

So what're you gonna do now, Victor?

[Phone Rings]

[Kareem] Yes, sir?

Kareem,

find Felicia.

Find Ella,

and everyone close to them.

And find Tamara!

I'm on it.

[Anchorwoman] Police are currently in pursuit of Felicia Thompson,

if you have any information regarding her-

[Dark Foreboding Music]

[Phone Ringing]

[Pounding on Door]

[Rex] It's Rex, open up.

[Whispering] Daddy knows.

I know.

So do the police.

We gotta get you outta Cyprus.

Let me take care of it.

It's okay, it's okay.

[Grunting]

Tell me who your boss is!

I told you, I don't know.

Is it Victor Thompson?

But you know how to get in touch with him, right? Your boss?

Yeah.

I'll make a call.

It's in my back pocket. [Corrine Whimpers]

[Christie] Boss?

-Yeah. -Get a name.

[Kendrick] Don't try anything.

[Intense Music] [Phone Ringing]

Boss,

we got a problem.

I'm at the clinic boss, they got me tied up!

What the hell are we gonna do now?!

[Corrine Whimpering]

[Kendrick] Chill out.

[Phone Vibrating]

Mom?

I'd like to speak to the officer in charge of

the investigation into the casino shooting?

I know who shot and killed Gloria Stewart.

[Phone Ringing]

[Victor] Yes?

[Kareem] I've got eyes on Ella.

No sign of Felicia.

Send me the address.

I'm on my way.

[Dramatic Music]

[No Audible Dialogue]

Jabari Morris?

-Yes? -You're under arrest.

For what? What's the charge?

The murder of Gloria Stewart. [Dramatic Music Swells]

[Jabari Sighs]

[Intense Crescendo]

[Dramatic Pulsing Music]

[Low Somber Music]

I need to see my husband, now.

I suggest you call your husband an attorney.

I just need to see him.

Uncle Ray-Ray?

It's Paige.

It's been a minute.

I really need to talk to you.

[Dramatic Music]

[Inaudible Whispering]

Hold on!

[Both] Mom! [Ella] Thank God!

Oh you guys, you're both okay!

Look, we gotta get outta here.

I gotta get you someplace safe before they come to-

-Oh! -Drop the weapon.

Not until they drop theirs!

Slide it over here.

Thank you. Kill the girl.

No! No! [Gunshot]

[Ella & Christie Screaming]

Oh, Kareem, Kareem, Kareem, Kareem.

I asked you not to disappoint me again.

You're out of control, old man.

This is over! [Two Gunshots] [Screaming]

-Victor, no, Victor, Victor! -Whoa, hold up.

Victor please! Victor, look,

-Victor, kill me! Victor, kill me! -No.

Please! Just leave my children out of this, Victor.

Victor, no! It's me that you're after!

Victor, they don't deserve this, please! They don't deserve this.

Did my son deserve to die?

-Come here. -[Kendrick] Mom, no.

-Mom, no. Mom no, please! -Mom, come on now, mom, please no.

It's okay. I love you both.

I love you both so much. We'll be okay.

That's right, that's right, come to daddy.

Mom, no, please!

[All Screaming]

No, no, no, no, no.

I'm not gonna kill you, Ella.

-I'm gonna make you choose. -No Victor, please!

An eye for an eye.

Choose, or they both die.

[Ella] No, Victor!

[Victor] You must choose one.

[Dramatic Music]

Where am I gonna go?

You know he will find me.

Him, or the cops.

I told you, you gotta stop worrying.

I'm gon' keep you safe.

Now I've been moving precious cargo in and out of

Georgia since I was a teenager. [She Chuckles]

You gotta trust me.

We gonna get you a fake passport, and we gonna get you out of the country.

Okay? Just relax.

Why are you helping me?

Because you helped me.

[She Chuckles]

You blackmailed me. [Rex Chuckles]

I did.

But you knew I wasn't gonna turn you in.

That was Ella.

Hmm.

Thank my sister for me.

YEah.

But what she didn't realize is she left you a parting gift.

I want you to take this. Take it.

[She Sniffles] It's okay.

Listen, I want you to get in,

you follow his instructions, okay?

Why don't you come with me?

What's holding you here in Cyprus?

Old habits.

Surprisingly, you've been a great husband.

Thank you.

I told you I'd be worth the wait.

You take care of yourself, you hear me?

Yeah, you too.

[Rex Sighs]

Killin' my kids,

won't bring Malik back!

And it won't bring your unborn grandson back, or my mother!

That you beat to death!

I did not kill her! That was you,

those are Leona's lies!

Is that the better half? Because you will die without a legacy!

Nobody's gonna remember you.

Nobody's gonna be here to carry on your name,

or your memory!

-Because of you and your sister! [Kendrick] I'll kill you!

[Screaming]

[Ella] No! [Victor] It was you.

-You destroy everything you touch! -No!

[Screaming]

Because of you...

I... have... nothing!

[Gunshot] [Ella Gasps, Coughs]

[Leona] You did beat her.

[Voice Shaking] You beat her

every day.

And now you're going straight to hell.

I'll see you there.

-[Rex] Congratulations. [Tamara] Thank you.

[Rex] So glad to have you here.

[Levi] Excuse me,

what the hell are you two doing in my office?

We uh,

just going over transitions.

[Tamara] And I think you mean, my office.

I'm taking over as CEO of UpSurge.

Effective immediately.

That's cute. Leave now and I won't call security.

[Rex Chuckles]

[Tamara's Voice] You should know that when Malik left me everything,

that included proof that you and Levi

were laundering millions of dollars through New Hope Baptist Church.

[Victor] You're overplaying your hand.

Shall I go on?

-You can't do this. -Oh, I can.

Thanks to the consolidation of voting shares,

courtesy of Rex and his wife Felicia.

And other loyal board members.

But don't be upset, Levi.

just tryin' to get paid. [Rex Chuckles]

Ah, let's go, friend.

Get your hands off of me.

-This ain't over. -Oh, we'll see.

[Dramatic Music]

Where the hell is my car?

Levi, get in.

I have a proposition for you.

Hey, run the story as soon as it's verified.

Yeah.

Don't scream.

Don't do anything stupid, just drive.

[Ominous Music]

Where are we going?

We're gonna take a nice easy drive to Uncle Ray-Ray's.

[Foreboding Music]
