Episode 19

Everyone, look at this.

The data shows that

the Entertainment Center project is doing well.

The investors also saw how much progress we had made

and changed their attitude

towards this project. They no longer feel worried.

Now, they have great confidence in us,

and are hopeful about this project.

It seems that now

we don't have any financial problems

for the Entertainment Center project anymore.

Mr. Ye,

please have a look.

This is the meeting room.

This table has a unique design

in a pentagon shape.

Also, this light.

I personally really like this light.

Miss Du has good taste as expected.

Thanks.

On the outside, I also used some

unique decorations on the lights

and chose some matching plants

to make the whole office cozy

and comfortable.

How do you like it?

It turns out that Miss Du is really professional.

To be honest,

I didn't expect much from you.

It now appears that

I'm very satisfied.

It is great working with you.

Thank you for your compliment.

To be honest,

if you didn't contact me for this project,

I wouldn't have confidence

to keep doing this.

Aren't you curious about

how I found you?

Forget it!

If I tell you the truth,

someone is going to kill me.

All you have to know is that

someone is trying to help you.

Miss Du,

this person cares a lot about you.

Mr. Lei Yuzheng, I've earned money.

Let me treat you a meal. How does that sound?

-Qunfei. -Yes?

Why did you seem

to be distracted recently?

Did anything happen?

No, nothing.

This one,

this one,

and this one.

Ok, that's all.

How were you so quiet?

When did you come in?

Ok, that's all. Order is placed.

Wait, Du Xiaosu,

you have just placed the order without

asking what the guest wants?

What kind of treat is that?

It's my treat. I've told you.

So, you have to listen to me.

Is that how it works?

What are you doing?

Braised baby cabbage in broth,

boiled Chinese broccoli,

1 serving of small steamed buns,

and 2 servings of instant noodles in chicken soup.

You might as well

order two clay oven rolls for us.

Make some changes.

Crab meat bean curd,

salmon nori,

and sashimi set.

As for drinks...

Why did you step on me?

Who stepped on you?

Rich people like you

must have tried everything.

Why are you doing this to me?

Aren't you also rich now?

You need to admit that

the large-scale project you recently worked on

must be very profitable.

Am I right?

What large-scale project?

You made that up. Ok?

If you are trying to destroy my reputation,

I...

I will ask you for mental damage compensation.

You won't be able to afford it.

I'm sorry, sir and madam.

Whom should I listen to?

-Me. -Me.

Well,

just listen to him then.

Forget about the drinks. Just place order for the rest.

Ok, sir.

Lei Yuzheng,

you think that you are nice to me, right?

Actually, I would order abalone and trepang.

Just consider yourself lucky.

Here, Du Xiaosu,

try a small steamed bun.

Eat quickly, or it will get cold.

Wait,

it's my treat.

Why did you act more hospitable than I did?

If one doesn't want to do something,

no one can force him.

Right?

Whether you eat or not, it's up to you.

Just eat.

Are we eating small steamed buns?

No, they are my flesh and blood.

Your flesh and blood?

I finally know what animal you are like.

Pixiu,

who only takes things in but never lets anything out.

No matter how I think about it,

you can earn at least this much with the office building project.

You are not willing to even take a fraction out?

How did you know it was an office building?

Don't tell me that

you helped me find this project.

Aren't you curious about

how I found you?

If I tell you the truth,

someone is going to kill me.

What are you thinking?

Am I the kind of person who looks for projects for you?

I don't have that much free time.

I just guessed.

That's what I thought.

You are so busy as a businessman.

How is it possible for you to worry about lower-income people like me?

I got it because I was lucky.

That's correct.

I really like your face when you are eating.

I might not be able to

eat such delicious food for a while.

For a while? Why?

I'm going for a business trip abroad.

Abroad?

I've never been abroad.

What's good about going abroad?

Studying.

Do you know the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar?

It's my dream school.

Their department of architecture.

Professor Oam

is my idol.

I remember that during the first lesson

in my college,

our teacher was holding the Introduction to Architecture

and telling us that

this book was written by professor Oam.

He is the originator of architecture industry.

Ever since then,

I started dreaming about

meeting this master one day.

If I saw him,

I can take pictures with him and get his signature.

Then my life is all worth it.

What kind of dream is that?

Just eat.

Hello.

Please check out.

Ok, wait a second.

Hello, your order has been paid.

You did it?

Who else can it be?

You finally did something right.

Otherwise, I would

curse you every day,

and hope you will be single forever.

Really?

I'd be happy about it.

Lei Yuzheng,

how did I never know

that you can also be humorous.

There're many things that you haven't known about me.

Well, there will be lots of time in the future,

and you can know about me slowly.

Let's go.

We're here.

I'm going inside then.

Thank you for your dinner.

My dinner?

Wasn't it your treat?

It was my treat, and you paid the bill.

It's fair.

Next time,

it'll be your treat and I will pay.

Then, we will be equal.

Next time?

I don't even know when the next time would be.

How long will you stay abroad?

If everything goes as planned, it might be a week.

Just a week.

Maybe, you will be back sooner.

Then, I will go up for now.

Take care of yourself. Bye!

Xiaosu.

Forget it!

Nothing!

President Lei,

it's not like you.

Say whatever you want.

Why are you so hesitating?

I was wondering if you could

come to see me off at the airport tomorrow.

I…

see you off?

Why?

Xiaosu,

we've known each other for long.

You don't really understand how I feel?

I know.

It might be hard for you to make this decision,

but I'm willing to wait.

My flight will leave at 10 am tomorrow.

I'm leaving now.

Dad, drink some water.

Siqi, have a seat.

Dad, why did you

come to Shanghai this time?

It's okay. You can tell me.

Siqi is not an outsider.

Well,

your brother is getting married.

He's going to marry the daughter of Dr. Liu in the town.

That's great news.

It's great news, but it's also stressful.

Without the property ownership certificate,

nobody is willing to marry him.

So,

your mom and I took out all the money we have,

but it is still not enough.

So, I came here to see

if you have any money available.

Dad, how much do you want?

I can definitely give out 20 to 30 thousand yuan.

That's not enough.

Your mom and I gathered 300 thousand yuan,

and we still need 200 thousand yuan.

What? 200 thousand yuan?

Since when did it cost so much to buy a house in that town?

Not just for down payment. It's the full payment.

You must know

how much your brother

has gone through

in order to pay your college tuition.

Now,

he's finally met the girl

he can marry and likes.

The family of the girl didn't ask for too much

other than a house for marriage.

We planned to

make the down payment for your brother,

and leave the rest for them

to pay back slowly.

But on second thought, we figured that

it doesn't seem right to have her start

paying debt after joining our family.

If the words spread out,

it would be so embarrassing for our family.

That's why I came to see

if you are able to help your brother

gather 200 thousand yuan,

so that he can marry the girl.

It will be a dream come true

for both your brother and us.

Dad, of course my brother should get married.

About the money,

don't worry.

I will try to take care of it.

I'm relieved to hear that.

Your mom will also be happy to hear about it.

Qunfei, it was right for your brother

to care so much about you all time.

Well, dad,

it's getting late.

I should send Siqi home.

Let's go.

See you, uncle.

Okay, see you.

Siqi, were you mad?

Mad?

200 thousand is not a small number.

Adding up all your savings

can barely reach this number.

My brother will return it to me.

So, it means that

you have already decided to lend him the money.

My brother has been very nice to me since we were kids.

You don't know about this,

but he used to take care of me well

when my parents were working in other cities.

It was because of my brother

that I was able to come to Shanghai,

attend university,

and know you.

All right.

It's your brother who's getting married,

and it's your dad who's asking for the money.

As for me, I'm just an outsider.

Siqi,

that's not what I mean.

I just think that

we cannot even buy a bathroom

with 200 thousand yuan in Shanghai.

So, there's no harm to

give it to my family to solve this emergency, right?

Yes.

We cannot even buy a bathroom here.

But just because we cannot buy it,

it doesn't mean that

you should lend this money to your brother,

and live in a rented apartment.

Does it?

And your dad.

He knows that your brother needs a house for marriage.

But what about us?

Have your family ever

thought about how I feel?

I'm sorry, Siqi.

But there're things that are more urgent than others.

Great.

If you want to be an obedient son

and a good brother,

I'm not stopping you.

But, He Qunfei,

please ask yourself

if you are a competent boyfriend to me.

Why is it so hard for you to

buy a house

and provide a stable life

to your beloved woman in front of you?

Siqi, I will keep

all my promises to you.

Please wait a little longer.

Endless waiting.

We've been together for so long,

and the words I've heard the most is "wait".

I waited three years ago,

and I'm still waiting.

Qunfei,

I'm really tired of waiting,

and I've done enough waiting.

You can lend him the money.

As long as you buy a house,

I don't care even if you lend 200 million yuan to your dad.

Siqi!

While I'm abroad,

please take care of everything for me,

especially the Entertainment Center.

If anything occurs,

call me immediately.

Ok.

Mr. Lei,

you really don't need me to go to the airport with you?

No.

Someone else will.

Mr. Lei,

you seem different compared to before.

You are in better moods,

and you smile more.

Before,

you always had such a straight face

that I didn't even dare to breathe.

Come on.

Take a good charge of the work I left you with.

Otherwise, I will kick your ass when I'm back.

Ok.

Bye.

Do you know why did Lei Yuzheng go abroad?

No one knows what he's going to do there

besides going on a business trip.

My intuition tells me that

he's going to make a big move this time.

But no one knows exactly

what he's going to do.

He Qunfei must know about it.

I was wondering

if you can see me off at the airport tomorrow.

Xiaosu,

we've known each other for long.

You don't really understand how I feel?

I know.

It might be hard for you to make this decision now,

but I'm willing to wait!

My flight will leave at 10 am tomorrow.

I'm leaving now.

Hello, Teacher Sun, long time no see!

Fine,

I'll watch it now.

Ok.

Mr. Lei, take your time and have a good trip.

Sir, please drive faster.

Are you in a hurry?

You should have come out earlier

when you go to the airport at this time.

Then, would you please drive as fast as you can?

Lei Yuzheng.

Have a good trip.

Xiaosu, in fact,

I'm very satisfied that you can come.

Hello, Siqi,

this is Qunfei.

Sorry,

the subscriber you dialed can't be connected…

Mr. Lin!

Assistant He!

You had a fight with your girlfriend?

My bad, Mr. Lin.

Come on, have a drink!

What's the big deal about

buying a house?

As the saying goes,

a problem that can be solved with money

wouldn't be called a problem.

But you have to have money.

You can't do anything without money.

How about this?

There's one million yuan in this card.

Take it.

Are you kidding me, Mr. Lin?

I can't take this money.

Do you know why I'm helping you?

Because you remind me of myself when I was at your age.

Although,

I'm luckier than you,

and I have a girlfriend who doesn't ask for too much from me.

So what?

I can't let her down

just because she's nice.

So,

I beat my own retreat,

and missed the best woman

in my life.

You also…

Take this card,

and buy a house

for her.

Don't worry about paying back. Take your time.

Bro,

are you Ok?

I'm Ok.

By the way, could you tell me

if Lei Yuzheng is going abroad

to prepare for any large project?

Yes, of course.

Mr. Lei is going to discuss with S.G. about collaboration.

With S.G.'s investment,

the Entertainment Center project won't be short of money anymore.

Assistant He?

Assistant He?

The project of the Entertainment Center

of Yutian corporate

is not only a milestone

in the Chinese architect business,

but it also carries enormous business potential.

I mean that all of us have reasons to believe that,

if S.G. is willing to invest

and cooperate with us,

not only that in between, both companies to get a good reputation

and praise & profits, and interests as well.

Lei, I have to say

I am very interested in this project,

and I look forward to cooperating with you.

Fantastic.

Here is the deal.

Look forward to working with S.G.

I have to go to Shanghai with you, then.

It's definitely my treat.

You have to taste the Shanghai buns.

I am looking forward to that.

Hey, look, Linton,

there is somebody I want to consult you about.

That's just for you.

Byebye.

Fanlv, you must have waited for a while.

It's too cold. Put on your clothes.

Lin Xiangyuan,

you're upset right now, are you?

Upset?

Why am I upset?

Stop pretending.

I know you're upset.

I hide from you every day.

Because of this?

Yes, that's true.

But you didn't do anything wrong.

You have your own freedom.

Fanlv, you may rest assured

that I will try my best,

and I won't let you down.

We were engaged because...

For whatever reason,

since you are my fiancee now,

I should be responsible for you

and treat you well.

I know that

you have some prejudice against me.

But I believe that

time will change everything.

I also believe that

you won't regret it.

Fanlv, give me a chance.

Let me protect you.

Mr. He and Miss Zou,

congratulations.

You have already pre-purchased the house.

Please make the down payment

within two weeks.

Otherwise, the deposit will not be returned.

Thanks.

Are we really going to buy a house? (Subscription Agreement)

This feels like a dream.

Stupid girl.

The subscription agreement is right here,

and you still don't believe it?

I do, I do.

I'm just really surprised.

Why does every word

in this subscription agreement

seem so nice?

I think we should think about

how to decorate the house now.

Retro style or minimalist style?

We need to make a decision soon.

Why do I feel that

you are more intimate with this house than with me?

Do you only care about this house?

Of course I like the house.

I want to sleep with the house.

What you gonna do?

Listen,

this is my baby now.

As for you…

Why are you so narrow-minded?

Are you out of your mind?

I'm telling you,

you'll be the wife of He Qunfei.

You can't run away.

Why should I run?

I have a house now.

I'll be where the house is.

You can't even get rid of me.

By the way,

is your father leaving today?

Has your brother solved the money?

If it's not enough,

I will try to

see if I can make up 30 to 50 thousand.

Also, I think

we still have to buy some gifts for him,

so that he can bring them back,

and have something to show off.

Ok.

Let's go!

Sure.

Look who's here, Dr. Oam!

Xiaosu!

Xiaosu, Dr. Oam.

She's beautiful.

Oh my goodness!

Miss Du, nice to meet you.

Mr. Oam!

Nice to meet you.

Can I have a hug?

Xiaosu,

you're too excited.

Dr. Oam.

It's so nice to see you today.

You're my idol.

I really never thought that,

one day I could meet you in person.

I feel like dreaming.

What did she say?

She said she was flattered.

She respects your reputation

and she's been looking forward for this day for a long time.

Miss Du,

I'd much rather that you flatter me as "young and handsome".

You are still young.

"Respects" my "reputation"!

Come on, guys, have a seat.

Come on.

I majored in design.

The Introduction to Architecture that I learned...

All in triangles.

On the Bund,

I want to design skyscrapers on the Bund.

Mind in heart.

Heart.

Look up!

Cheers! Excellent!

These are the best dishes in Shanghai.

Look at this. This is the steamed bun. It's famous.

Wait!

No, no, no!

Chopsticks should be used like this.

Have a toast.

-Welcome! -Cheers!

To our architecture on the bottom.

Excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom.

May I be excused? I will be back.

I can bite for you.

Mr. Oam, please have some more.

Try this.

This one, this one. This is not spicy.

Miss Du.

Your boyfriend loves you

very much.

Mr. Oam, I think you have misunderstood.

He's not my boyfriend yet.

Boyfriend,

no!

Miss Du,

even though I'm middle aged,

I have the eyes of a hawk.

Do you know how Yuzheng invited me?

One day, Yuzheng came to my home.

Ever since

my wife, Anna, passed away,

I have always been in the fall mood.

And I don't like visits from strangers.

No doubt,

on that day, he was slammed out in the cold.

Excuse me. Hi, there.

Would this place for Professor Oam's residence?

Who is it, and what do you want?

Sorry, my name is Lei, and I came from China.

I have an appointment with professor Oam.

Sir.

Sir.

Professor.

Sure you have an appointment.

Professor.

Why haven't you left yet?

I really want to talk to you.

I've been up all night, working on the design.

I am very tired.

No matter what you want to say.

I don't want to hear it.

Look, Professor.

I'm deeply sorry for the intrusion,

but a friend of mine in China, whose major is architect,

she would love an autograph from you.

Could you do me a favor, please?
