Smitty, what you do with that pumpkin?

I'm waiting to see if it grows.

[chuckles] I don't think it happens that fast.

-[Dave scoffs] -It's gonna have to.

I'm entering this pumpkin in the Biggest Pumpkin Contest

at the Fall Fair today.

[Rich] I don't know, Smitty.

We saw the pumpkin that won the Biggest Pumpkin Contest last year,

and it was pretty big.

It was about this big.

-Oh, it was way bigger than that. -Yeah.

Oh. Even bigger.

-That's it. -[Dave scoffs]

I guess this little pumpkin's got a long way to go.

Reckon so.

Oh, oh. You know what might help?

I invented it to help plants grow super fast.

Now how are we gonna get the pumpkin to the fair?

We can't even get it out of the Warehouse.

To get the pumpkin out of the Warehouse...

In time to get it to the fair.

And that means we need good ideas.

It sure is hard to catch a giant pumpkin.

It's even harder to get it out the front door.

And we are not any closer to figuring out how to get this pumpkin to the fair.

Rich, we can't give the giant pumpkin to Warehouse Mouse.

We have to take it to the fair.

No, I mean, break it into pieces.

I don't think you can take a pumpkin this big and break it into pieces.

Well, no, but we could cut it up.

Yeah. We could cut it into smaller pieces.

Smaller pieces would fit out the door.

Right.

But how can I enter it in the Biggest Pumpkin Contest

if it's just a bunch of pumpkin pieces?

Good point.

Uh, we could glue it back together.

I don't know.

I'm not really sure we can put a pumpkin back together like that.

Look, we'll try it on a smaller pumpkin first,

just to see if it works.

That way, we don't have to cut up the giant pumpkin until we know for sure.

That's perfect. A practice pumpkin.

But where are you gonna find a practice pumpkin?

[Movers] The Garden Room.

Wow! Look at all these fruits and vegetables!

Yep. This is where I grow most of my plants.

Now we can bring it back to the Think Tank and put it back together.

Okay. Here goes. Uh, tape.

[glue squirting]

Hmm. So, what do you think?

I think this isn't gonna work.

-I'm glad we didn't try that with-- -[loud thud]

This pumpkin.

-[thudding] -Listen to that.

-That pumpkin is as hard as a rock. -[thudding]

That's why we can't get it out the door.

It doesn't bend or-- Or smush or anything.

Well, wait. What if the pumpkin were softer?

Then maybe we could squish it out the door.

But how can we make the pumpkin softer?

Without ruining it?

When I was little my mom baked apples for me to eat.

And when she baked the apples, they got nice and soft...

but they still stayed apple-shaped.

That's a great story, Scott,

and it sounds delicious,

but we need to figure out how to get this pumpkin out the door.

What I'm trying to say is, we could bake the pumpkin.

That'll make it soft enough that we can push it out the door.

It'll stay pumpkin-shaped.

We can still enter it in the contest.

-Yeah. -[Rich] Right.

Great idea.

But we can't fit that pumpkin in the oven.

How else can we heat it?

This is taking a long time.

It's not working. The pumpkin isn't getting any softer.

But it is starting to smell good.

That's it. We'll bake the pumpkin into a pie.

Then you can't enter it in the pumpkin contest.

No, but we will be able to enter it in the Best Pumpkin Pie contest.
