Wang Lun be careful!

Cui Mei...

Cui Mei..

Cui Mei....

-Cui Mei! -This is the final thing I can do for you now.

Cui Mei!

Cui Mei! Cui Mei! Cui Mei!

I'm going to kill you!

You cannot kill him/her!

For Cui Mian, for Ning Xiang, it's time for you to repay them!

Wang Lun, do you know who the Head Merchant is?

I don’t care who he is! I only know he is my enemy!

He killed Cui Mei and Ning Xiang!

That was only an imposter of his/her!

What imposter? Ning Xiang is Ning Xiang!

Wang Lun,

do not be stupid.

That woman, she makes a living selling opium.

She concealed her identity, and chose the brothel as her trading location, wanted to use the entertainment that occurs in brothel

in order to expand her business.

She did not expect you to like her,

and discovered the fact

that they were opium traders.

In order to escape, she put up a pitiful show for you

and found an imposter,

to die painfully in her place

and had her face destroyed in front of you.

that you can be her best witness to her death.

Impossible, you're both lying!

You’re lying!

What he said was true! I found a large blood splatter at the foot of Ning Xiang’s bed.

Which meant that before you came into the room,

there was another Ning Xiang there.

You really are foolish.

Ever since when the stones fell from the ornamental hill,

and you saved me,

I knew you liked me.

But if I allowed you to continue to entangle yourself with me.

you would ruin my grand scheme of things.

So I arranged for that out of control horse and a leak in that boat,

but who knew that you would be so lucky and survive?

If I killed you back then,

you wouldn’t have come back to ruin me, to ruin my opium trade!

So...

you've never liked me?

I just used you.

Used you, you fool!

Why did you come back? Why did you?!

I am just a fool! What did I do?

Do you have the thing Liu Can traded with you?

I do not know what you are talking about.

I have only traded opium with him.

year ago, it was my fault.

And now, everything I owed you then...

I will repay you!

Love is like opium.

After you use it, you will be addicted to it.

And once you are addicted to it

then there is no way back.

Then do not let yourself be addicted.

Miss, you are getting worse and worse.

Now you do not even come back in the evening!

Where did you go last night? I searched everywhere for you!

Wang Lv, stop the noise!

If you continue, I'll fire you!

You dare!

Your clothes are so dirty, hurry and clean up.

This is probably because I got some ink on me when I cleaned out the inkwell on your desk.

Then where will the 3rd death notice be?

It's ink!

Liu Can was a merchant, why does he have so much ink in his satchel?

And so many books?

Miss! Miss! Where are you going to now?

Liu Can has always disguised himself as a incense merchant,

but in his satchel apart from the smell of sandalwood, there is no other scent.

This small knife can easily scratch the surface of the satchel.

But there are only a few faint scratches inside the satchel.

It feels as if apart from scented goods, and this small knife

it does not fit the identity of Liu Can's merchant status.

A-A gentleman does not argue with others nor will they walk with villains!

At the time I angrily grabbed my satchel and left with a sweep of my sleeve!

is satchel is not Liu Can's it's Sang Chen's, he took the wrong o

Guan Guan go the ospreys, on the islet of the river

the modest, virtuous young lady, is a good match for this gentleman

What are you doing?!

Let me go! You villains!

My Lord, it seems we were one step late.

After Liu Can’s contact takes the Marquis of Sui's pearl,

they will leave the city immediately!

Immediately pass on the orders, seal the city

Order the Qian Nui guards to arrest any suspicious persons?

Move it! Move it! The city is on lockdown!

What's going on?

Hurry up!

Follow, follow.

What’s going on?

You must help me find my Mother's grave this time.

Don’t worry, we’ll find it for you.

When I see you next time,

if you hurt my interests,

I will kill you.

I never told Xiao Song that...you were an assassin.

Wear it...do not lose it.

You must secure the city, do not let anyone leave!

My Lord, we found a suspicious note.

Bring it here.

Yes.

I've been kidnapped?

My Lord who is that I?

only seen this kind of bamboo paper from Sang Chen's acade

Could Sang Chen be kidnapped?

-Yes! -Yes!

Miss...

i’ve been searching for Mistress for so many years, there's no rush.

Let’s rest

none of them found my Mother's grave.

They are all tricksters.

Miss, the authorities are looking for you.

It seems like that Xiao Fish has found that scholar.

Let him in.

Miss Ran, I am the subordinate of Lord Xiao,

we found Sang Chen's body outside the city.

Lord Xiao requests your appearance.

I have money to be made.

A gentleman cares about morals, villains care about profit.

Although you are government officials, but you behave in the way of villains.

First you accuse me then you use the ways of a villain and kidnap me!

I am a gentleman of virtue, you are villains of vice!

Did you...write this?

Someone else mimicked my handwriting but was weak in their skill with the brush and wrote such vulgar words.

How could a vulgar person understand my writing?

You didn’t write it?

Oh no, this was just a distraction!

Stop.

Alright, go ahead.

Stop!

I work under Lord Xiao the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice.

I am taking the medical examiner out of the city to examine a body under his orders.

Please show me your seal of permission.

I was in a rush, forgot to take it.

Wait.

Miss, I forgot my seal of permission, they won't let me out.

But My Lord said it was urgent, I cannot delay it.

May I ask if you have a seal of permission.

How could someone from the authorities have a tattoo?

Close the gate! Stop the carriage!

Someone's been killed!

Be careful!

Hurry and run! Hurry and run!

Protect his Excellency.

Hurry! Hurry!

After him!

My Lord, are you alright?

You responded quite quickly this time.

No...I was one step late.

Weren't you here because you were worried?

You were always looking for trouble, even if I had an extra pair of hands I would not have the time to save you.

Why did they have to take me out of the town?

I fear what they are anxious to take out of the city was not you...

Wear it, do not lose it.

Take it, this is what you were looking for right?

Don't you feel you need to explain why this item...

is in your hands?

Then I have lots to explain.

As you have it, don’t ask.

Oh yes,

Thank you Your Lordship for saving my life.

My Lord, are you going to let her go like this?

Who said I am letting her go?

Who was it who gave this to Ran Yan?

why did someone wish to borrow Examiner Ran's hand to deliver this hairpin out of the city?

A pearl was hidden inside the hairpin?

Is this the Pearl of the Marquis of Sui that we've been looking for all this time?

This is a replica.

The real Pearl of the Marquis of Sui will feel slightly warm when touched.

But this one...does not have any temperature at all.

My Lord, we've been pursuing Liu Can all this time,

but he was involved in the necklace murder case and killed by Wang Lun.

Does this not mean we have lost all our leads?

Immediately send a secret report to His Highness.

Yes!

The Chief has confirmed that the pearl Liu Can has is a fake.

Tell the Chief,

with Xiao Song's ability he should be able to find the true Pearl of the Marquis of Sui very soon.

The Huoqi alliance can only find the treasure once we have our hands on the pearl.

We can only raise an army and overthrow the Tang kingdom when we have the treasure.

Therefore we must help the Chief to find the Pearl before

Xiao Song does.

How did you find this place?

Last time when you were injured,

I discovered a bamboo leaf on you.

That is the leaf from the species Bambusa cerosissima.

I searched every place in Suzhou where that type of bamboo grow

That is why I am in front of you.

I didn't kill you last time, but that doesn't mean I won't kill you this time.

You used me last time.

You wanted to deliver the hairpin out of the city, and also caused me to lose my life

so you owe me a debt.

I heard someone say they never wish to owe a woman anything

I need your help!

I want you to kidnap Shu son of thge Su family, Su Fu.

Why do you want that?

Because I do not wish to marry him!

Because he is a Shu son?

I can disregard etiquette, let alone just a social class.

I have not even seen his face.

so I do not hold any types of prejudice towards him!

I cannot get married yet! I have things to do!

Please agree to my request! I am begging you!

Alright I promise you.

Truly? Than it's settled!

My Lord, Governor Liu has an urgent matter to report to you.

Tell him to come in.

Yes.

My Lord.

Lord Xiao.

A strange murder has occurred in the Taicang county/district.

The victim was..

One of the victims was the person on the wall...

Zhuang Bifan.

Yan'er is truly one of the most beautiful women in the country,

this wedding gown makes her look like a deity

If Mei Yu was here, she would be so envious.

Thank you for your praise,

if you were so envious, why don't you

This marriage has been through negotiation

how can we change the bride so easily?

Negotiation?

I wonder who did you discuss this with?

Why did I, the participant did not know about this wedding?

Could it be that the Su family came to ask for my hand in marriage and you could not reject them due to their power.

And because the party involved was a Shu son, so you did not want to your daughter to marry beneath her

so you used I, this scapegoat to compensate the Su family.

Yan'er you are overthinking this.

she is your mother, both of you are like the different sides of my hand

Even if I did not give birth to you, there is no different to how I treat you.

I think ever one knows what our intentions are.

you must not speak in such a rude way.

Yes, Father.

Wan Lv, look after your Miss, as soon as the sedan chair arrives, she will marry immediately.

It's here?

Teacher this is the place.

Her intelligence is like the mind of a deity.

Women are no inferior to men.

The corpse....can be described it’s outer proportions accurately

Teacher, what does that mean?

The meaning of this phrase is...

hat you can describe the size and weight of a corpse accurately

Miss Ran can not only describe the appearance of the corpse,

she can even discover the true cause of death.

Although my Mother said women must not walk with corpses,

but Miss Ran is a female goddess in my heart.

She is so extraordinary..

I want to see if she is fierce

or a female beast from hell.

Miss, what to do? The bridal sedan chair is almost here!

There is no way to overturn this fate.

What is on Master’s mind? Why did he allow you to marry that Shu son of the Su family?

No matter what as the Di daughter of the Ran family, he is far beneath you.

I've searched the west and north side but still cannot find my Mother's grave.

It seems we must focus our efforts onto the south and east side next time.

Miss, the fire has almost reached our backsides, why are you so calm?

if that Su Fu was handsome, then it's better.

How is it good?

At least he is good looking, and a feast to the eyes.

Why don't...I give him to you?

Miss, can you stop joking?

Let’s talk business.

Why are you being so confident, as if the Su family bridal escort party will not come?

That is right,

How is that possible?

Miss, did you do something this time again?

Wan Lv understands me best!

Miss, will I be punished because of this again?

I ordered someone to kidnap Su Fu.

Kidnap?!

Why are you being so loud? Do you want the entire world to know I got someone to kidnap Su Fu?

After the auspicious hour passes, they will let him go.

So..they will not come today.

Bridal escot, marriage, goddess.

Taking a medical examiner as a wife,

some people may be pleased, some shocked.

I wonder what kind of bloody storm will be created by marrying such a fierce wife?

Teacher, what do you mean by fierce wife?

Those who are fierce are brutal, unreasonable and likes to hit people

Miss Ran is not a fierce wife, she is a goddess!

Disguise.

Disguise.

Don't tell me the Su family is here?

I am afraid so.

That person broke his word.

Which means...Miss you failed.

I made a mistake.

I should not have believe that handsome by hypocritical person

The 36th stratagem, if all else fails flee.

Wan Lv, I'm leaving.

Miss!

Congratulations Master Ran, congratulations.

Matchmaker, you have worked hard.

Everyone, you have worked hard.

My daughter is touching up on her makeup, she can leave very soon.

Please wait.

Butler, hurry and reward them.

Reward, hurry.

Young blossoming peach blossoms, beautiful in full bloom,

this bride is about to marry, and in a joyous procession she makes her way to her new home

That is incorrect, Miss Ran is a fierce wife, she will only bring misfortune to the family.

Like the good jade nurtured in Lantian county, it should have been a good marriage,

but a lack of talent in a female is virtue.

And if she has virtue, then...

Her eyes are bright her complexion rosy and she is full of vigor.

Her scent so alluring like an orchid

look at how graceful she moves and the elegance of her posture

Oh such beauty, it makes me forget my appetite (for food)!

How dare you pull at my dress?

Fierce wife!

If I fall because of the punch of a peony, even in my dreams I can be inspired enough to creat good literary work!

Pervert!

Stop right there!

If you dare to flee from this marriage today,

I will take Wan Lv to the human market and sell her to the Semu people!*

Master no!

Miss, save me.

Wake up.

It's time to get out of bed.

It's time to get out of bed.

What's wrong with me?

You were knocked out by a fierce wife.

She is not a fierce wife, but the goddess Ran Yan.

Where is Miss Ran?

Miss Ran was taken away by the bridal escort.

So many people!

Miss Ran, I...

I like you!

is this person ill in the head?

What are you doing? Let go!

-It seems I cannot escape it this time. -Miss Ran!

Why have they stopped?

Could...we have arrived at the Su manor?

My dear fox bride,

do you like this romantic wedding?

It was you who was marrying me?

You were hoping to marry me?

Not right, the Su family came to escort me.

What is your relationship with the Su family?

Not a friend nor a foe, nor an acquaintance nor family.

Then this is...

Snatching the bride.

I only knew that you like to abuse your authority,

I never expected you to be able to bully and kidnap people!

It seems...I was wrong.

I thought fox you...did not wish to marry that Shu son from the Su family.

So helped you out on a favor.

Got someone to disguise themselves as the bridal escort,

and snatched you.

Xiao fish, whether I wish to marry or not is my matter,

as the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice, you break the law even though you know them!

And then?

And like normal civilians..

And then?

Will be punished accordingly.

When you are dressed in a wedding gown, you are quite beautiful.

I...

already belong to someone.

No-one from the Su clan came to welcome you.

What?!

I see that Yan'er is already married.

It’s a shame to keep this courtyard empty.

Why don't you give it to Mei Yu as a garden so she can grow some flowers here when she has time.

You cannot keep your daughter when she grows up.

As she is married off, then everything here,

will leave it to you to arrange it.

Thank you Master for your trust in me.

Master! Master, Mistress.

The Su clan has sent a letter over.

The Su family?

Master, did Ran’er get into some trouble again?

The Shu son of the Su family Su Fu has disappeared 4 horus ago.

They have not been able to find him even now, they've reported it to the authorities.

Then who was the bridal escort?

W-Who sent the bridal escort party?

Great! That is great!

You seem to be very pleased.

I am starting to suspect that...

you arranged for Su Fu's disappearance.

Don't slander my good name.

I am not someone who will do something so morally lacking.

Anyway he has gone missing.

I cannot marry,

the dust is settled on this.

I’m leaving.

This is the middle of nowhere, where are you going dressed up like that?

What do you want to do?

I do not have such poor taste.

You’re always dressed in expensive fabrics and silks

as if you’re worried that no-one knows you're a rich man from Chang'an.

Such a showoff!

Just like the behavior of merpeople

Behavior of the merpeople?

Poor taste, no etiquette, no breeding,

A merman who puts on the airs of a court official.

As for you...

even if you put on expensive robes, you cannot become a phoenix.

You are still a wild fox who speaks ,whatever is on her mind.

Do not want to speak nonsense with you, hurry and take me back!

I went to such lengths to snatch you here,

in order to ask you to examine a body.

Another person has died?

I snatched the bride,

in order to help you.

Help me?

You're hurting my interests!

If Su Fu is missing and I remained unmarried it’s fine,

at most I will only be fodder for gossip.

the entire Suzhou city knows that i married.

If no-one wishes to marry me, will you take responsibility?

So the one you wish to marry is me?!

Why is this merman so self conceited?

We must split business from private affairs, want to examine the body, give me money first!

You really are a fox who loves money!

The body examination in exchange for the money!

After you finish examining the body, and discover the truth

I will give you the money to the penny!

But you must prepare yourself,

those bodies are quite strange...

Lord Xiao.

This is Lord Li, District Governor Li.

This is my personal examiner.

Ran Yan.

Can we start now?

I've ordered my men to bring the examination tools, you can start anytime.

I need to know what happened.

It's like this, today around 3-5am, a farmer passed by this area

and discovered these 4 carriages.

When he pulled back the curtain and looked,

he discovered 4 living people had turned into 4 decomposing bodies.

the clothes they wore had not changed.

What are the identities of the dead?

The one in the blue carriage was a embroider from the Jinxiu tailor shop.

Her name is Hua Xuwan, around 25 years of age.

The one in the red carriage was the midwife, Wei Siniang,

She was over 50 years of age.

The one in the green carriage is the manager of the Xiangyun business.

his name is Bu Zixiao, and also over 50 years of age.

The one in the yellow carriage is the manager of a goldsmith,

his name is Zhuang Bifan.

Did their family report their disappearance?

No, because all four of them arrived here a year ago.

They only have distant relatives, but we cannot contact their distant relatives.

Xiao fish.

Remove these four bodies from the carriages.

Xiao fish,

as normal, I'll say it you record it.

My Lord is a noble, how could he do something like this?

Your Lord is a noble, so does that mean as a medical examiner I am of a lowly status?

And as constables and wardens, you are lowly in status?

My Lord, why don't I...

Let's start.

This is sesame oil, used to suppress the smell.

Bring me the ruler.

Bu Zixiao, height 6 feet 3 inches.

His body is badly decomposed.

Bring me water, clean water.

Wash the bodies.

The bodies are badly composed with water we can wash away the dirt and maggots.

So strange...

Remove their clothing.

They've all been dismembered alive?
