Lost Promise

Episode 23

Where have you been? You scared me.

It's adorable.

He'll be a wonderful genius in martial arts in the future.

Whatever he likes.

I just want him to be healthy

and happy.

In the future,

I hope he won't be disturbed by

these disputes of Wulin.

Here.

Take it slow.

Master.

You are taking Meihun to hang around?

Grandpa,

you were practicing the sword skills?

I went to the back of the mountain to practice.

He is adorable.

Grandpa.

What's wrong with your arm?

The old illness recurred when I was practicing just now.

Not a big deal.

It's quite chill for the kid being outside .

Go back to the room early.

Yes.

You can't do this.

You can't take him.

Go away.

Magistrate Zhu,

do you confess your sins?

What sins do I have?

You are still such stubborn. Your death is coming.

I am

the Magistrate.

I have been upright for my whole life.

I'm not afraid of death.

Magistrate Zhu,

there are many ways to die.

You were colluded with the rebels

and kidnapped the prince.

You'll sentenced to lingering death.

You are such a treacherous villain.

You won't end well.

Anyone,

take him

to the death row.

Go.

What?

Magistrate Zhu has been taken away?

Lord Nangong took him

and sent him to the death row.

Be accused of what?

Lord Nangong said,

Magistrate Zhu has colluded with rebels

and kidnapped the prince.

Kidnapped the prince?

It's not an ordinary accusation.

Magistrate Zhu trusts you the most .

Please find a way to save him.

Don't be like that.

Please stand up.

Please.

I will

spare no effort to save him.

Don't worry.

Magistrate Zhu.

Don't take long.

Okay.

Magistrate Zhu.

What's going on?

Nothing to say.

You'd better leave please.

Why? Magistrate Zhu.

What's going on?

Don't you trust me?

I trust you.

But I don't trust your grandpa.

Grandpa?

Your grandpa and Lord Nangong has planed this

and kidnapped the prince.

What?

And then,

they framed me.

Really?

What on earth is going on?

It's almost the time.

Hurry up .

Excuse me,

just one moment please.

Thank you.

Hurry up.

How long have we left?

Why does it become like this now?

Simple reason.

Jiang Yintian must sent people to come here.

Since we come back now,

will us be in danger?

It's quite humid in the cave.

Master has just given birth.

She must be weak.

We can't stay long.

We can leave as long as he come.

Let's tidy up first.

No way. So soon!

Try to stop him.

I will stop the Master.

They can't meet.

Okay.

What are you doing here?

I'm fine now.

Let me have a walk.

You can't go out.

Why?

Jiang Qingliu is out there.

Didn't I give the baby back to him?

Why does he come again?

I don't know.

You don't know?

Then, I will meet him.

Since it's been few days,

I miss him.

You can't go out with your condition now.

Go back. Go back.

I just go out to meet him.

The baby is still in his home.

Super gossip!

What? Calm down.

Is there any gossip

more influential than the fact that

Boye Jingxing, a Demon Lord for 11 years,

is a woman?

Master Jing, it can't be co mpared with...

Chuan Huadie

Go to the kitchen to check if the porridge is cooked well.

Didn't we just have the meal?

Why did you cook the porridge?

Have you heard that

the prince is missing?

What?

How's my kid ?

Very well.

He can eat a lot.

Very healthy.

Take good care of my kid.

Otherwise,

I'll take him back.

Don't worry,

that's my son as well.

Fine, let's get down to business.

I know what the most important thing is.

Although you took my kid away,

I have to help you as well

since it's a matter of the country.

What happened to the prince?

Today,

the butler of the Magistrate Zhu came to me.

He said that

Lord Nangong took Magistrate Zhu away.

And Lord Nangong declared that

it was Magistrate Zhu who kidnapped the prince.

If Magistrate Zhu can kidnap the prince,

I will be the Jade Emperor.

Right,

it's such a ridiculous excuse.

But Lord Nangong declared Magistrate Zhu

guilty because of that.

Besides,

there is something strange as well.

What?

At the night of the day when the prince went miss ing,

grandpa came back with injuries.

I happened to see that.

So you are suspecting

that it's related to your grandpa?

I'm not just suspecting that.

I think

he is the kidnapper.

When I visited Magistrate Zhu in prison,

he told me that

it was my grandpa who asked him to bring the prince to the Dragon Spring Temple.

Then the prince went missing.

Such a villain!

What is he planing?

So today,

I want to discuss with you about the solutions.

You have to

help me with this.

Lord Nangong plans to usurp the Throne.

If he make it,

people will live with untold suffering.

Okay, I got it.

You may leave.

Then thank you

for helping the people.

No problem.

It's a quite big yard.

The ambition of this Nangong

is so obvious.

Lord Nangong is the second only

to the emperor in the court.

He does

have some power.

The more powerful he is,

the more he wants.

Who is willing to be the second all the time?

Shixiang,

500 taels of gold.

Artemisia argyi,

1000 taels of gold.

Donkey-hide gelatin,

2000 taels of gold.

Th e Snow lotus should be worthy of 10,000 taels of gold.

The medicines I have

are my treasures.

I'm getting rich.

I'm rich.

You...

You... You... You...

There are quite a lot guards

in the mansion.

To avoid them

and fine Lord Nangong

is not that easy.

I'm quite influential

in this Jianghu.

Would I be afraid of

some guards?

In my opinion,

let's just kill them all.

We will definitely find this Nangong.

There are more than 100 guards

in this mansion.

With your condition now,

if we do have a fight with them,

we won't be so assured to win.

I don't even care whether

there are thousands of guards,

let alone 100 guards.

Besides,

don't you think that

I'm a cruel person who uses

her own kid?

You would be happy if I'm killed.

You are a mother now,

how can you still have such a quick temper ?

Master Ku, the great physician.

Can't you let me know that you are coming?

You scared me.

My heart was about to jump out of my chest.

You wouldn't be scared

if you didn't do anything bad.

What are you doing here in the Ambrosia Valley?

You've never come for anything good.

I'm here to take some herbs.

After taking that,

I would leave.

But my herbs are not bought for free.

There are many herbs

I bought in the West in person.

I've paid a lot to get them.

Both my money and efforts.

You know clearly about my situation now.

I don't have any money.

Then, no way.

You can't take any herb from me.

Senior .

Your shamelessness

has not been changed at all.

Let me.

We've said to take action separately.

Why are you following me all the time?

The mansion is a big place.

I just want to check this room as well.

It means that

I understand

what you are thinking of.

Have you heard of one old saying

that children who lie would be eaten by wolves.

What kind of old saying that is?

I said so.

So this should be

the study room of Lord Nangong.

Come on.

Jiang Qingliu,

look at this sword.

What do you think?

The body of this sword is rough,

indeed an old sword,

but the material is quite precious.

It's a wonderful and unique sword.

This Nangong

is not a simple person.

What's wrong

with this sword?

Is Nangong a military officer or a civil official?

Lord Nangong is a prime minister,

surely he is a civil official.

Since he is a civil official,

how could there be weapons in his study room?

Or,

Lord Nangong can play martial arts?

Based on what you said,

this is a precious sword that cannot be recognized easily by ordinary people.

And this sword has been used for many times.

Nangong,

a civil official,

has hide a sword like this one in his study room.

Don't you feel weird?

Right.

Shh.

Actually,

my dad just has a temper like a kid's.

I will send the herbs to your place tomorrow.

Master Ku,

I'm happy to help.

Actually, there is one more thing.

What is it?

Tell me.

You must have heard of what happened

between Master Boye and Jiang Qingliu.

Their kid is in the Amberverde Mansion now.

When this kid was still in the body of the Master,

he has suffered a lot.

And this child is

not like other ordinary kids.

I'm not conv enient to go to the Amberverde Mansion.

So,

please take care of that kid.

If there is anything happened,

please let me know.

To think that you, the greatest poisoner in the world,

have such a warm heart and a loyal mind.

You are not that cruel and heartless

like others said.

Don't worry,

I go to

the Amberverde Mansion often.

I can promise you

that at least this kid will

be healthy

and safe.

Right.

Based on the friendship between you

and Jiang qingliu , I trust your promise.

Actually,

I would take care of this kid

not because of Jiang Qingliu,

but for you.

It's late.

I...

should go back.

I'm leaving.

Jiang Qingliu from the Amberverde Mansion

asks to meet Lord Nangong.

Jiang Qingliu from the Amberverde Mansion

asks to meet Lord Nangong.

No need to be so polite.

I haven't had a fight for so long.

Let me have some exercises.

Don't talk that much.

Save your strength for the fight.

Stop.

I didn't know you came to visit.

I'm sorry

for being late.

You finally show up.

Lord Nangong.

I'm sorry to visit you

at night.

No problem.

We are kind of

old acquaintances.

Especially with this Lady Jing,

we do have some relations previously.

You are right.

What a doomed fate of us!

A doomed fate?

Lady Jing

has the gift of gab as always.

Where did you go previously

since you were in a rush?

I didn't go out at all.

I've been asleep.

It was the noise caused by your visit

that wakes me up.

Lord Nangong,

we are sorry to

disturb you.

It's okay.

So what brings you here

at the midnight?

To be honest,

today

we are here for the missing prince.

The prince is the foundation of one country.

The court was shocked

because the prince went missing.

Even the illness of His Majesty has been worsened.

None of the doctors knows what to do with that.

I'm also concerned about this.

Lord,

the prince has

saved my life once.

So I'm not a member of the court,

but

I do want to help.

Good.

The young master of the Amberverde Mansion should be like you,

being such loyal to His Majesty.

However,

you don't need to worry too much.

The court has send the best people

to find the prince.

I believe that they would find him soon.

But

I want to thank you anyway.

Well,

It's quite late.

If there is nothing else,

you two may go back to have a good rest.

Wait a minute, Sir.

I

still have a question.

Speak.

Sir,

why do you arrest Mr Zhu?

Although the prince could not be found

I have found out about this matter.

Mr Zhu drew the prince out of the palace,

and took the opportunity to kidnap the prince.

He had bad intentions.

I not only want to catch him.

I want to kill him.

Sir.

Jiang and Mr Zhu

had some communications.

I know what kind of person Mr Zhu is .

He is not a man of conspiracy.

Mr Zhu

and Prince are very familiar.

It's impossible for him

to hurt the prince.

You are still young

and don't know the dangers in Jiang.

You may know their appearance, but don't know their heart.

Sometimes

the most trustworthy girl,

is the one

who can really harm you.

Mrs Jiang,

am I right?

You are right.

Knowing people by appearance , but not knowing the heart.

Some people seem to be polite,

in fact, he possesses evil ambitions.

But,

a fox

will show its tail sooner or later.

Mr Nangong.

The case of the missing of the prince

is still doubtful.

Even if Mr Zhu has some intentions,

he would not be so bold

and arose suspicions.

I hope that Mr Nangong

won't close the case hastily.

I have been working with Mr Zhu for many years.

I don't want to believe this is true.

Just

before the prince was kidnapped,

the only person he met is Mr Zhu.

It's hard for him to clear the suspicion.

I do not know,

Mr Nangong,

you turn out to be a martial artist.

There is such a good sword at home.

It's a gift from an old friend.

But it's a pity for this sword.

I am just a scholar,

for more than ten years this sword is hung in my mansion.

It's useless.

Jianghu is... sometimes small,

and big at the same time.

I don't know who your old friend is.

Maybe

we also know him.

My friend has gone.

No need to mention it.

Since it is a good sword,

then le t me try it.

I'm sorry,

my skill is not good.

Didn't I scare you, Mr Nangong?

Master Jiang.

You come to me with this lady tonight.

Do you come here to assassinate me?

Mr Nangong.

About the prince's disappearance,

you have made a decision.

Then we don't have much to say.

Sorry that we have disturbed you.

We shall take our leave now.

This old ma is really cunning.

Just now when I point my sword at him ,

he didn't panic at all,

on the contrary, he was suprisingly calm.

There are only two explanations to this reaction.

Either

he was too scared to react,

otherwise

he is a deep-hidden martial arts master.

This Mr Nangong is really impressive.

I think

if we want to get some words out of his mouth,

it's not very likely.

Something on a person that can talk

is not just the mouth.

What do you mean?

I think I already know where the prince is.

Oh?

Sir.

Something I you need to do.

Go.

Yes.

"Jiangnan (a beautiful city).

Old landscape.

Sunrise blazing better than fire.

The river is green and blue in sp ring.

How can you forget Jiangnan?"

You came just in time.

What do you think of Bai Juyi's poem?

Fabulous.

I sat with Yuanqiu that day...

We talked about poems and songs together.

Talked about life and dreams.

From poems and songs to life philosophy.

That is what I do often.

And

you must first look at the stars and the moon.

The moon that night

is the same as tonight.

Round.

Like Yuanqiu's face.

How can a girl's face

be so big and round?

It's too ugly.

Except Yuan Qiu, in this world

I might never again

be attracted by other women.

What?

Want to abandon me and be a love sick?

"The prodigal son will not change his head."

You make me look like a love rat.

After my idol's affairs are over,

I will return to the mountain forest.

Since then,

the title of "No. 1 in the world for flying"

will be yours.

If there is no rival,

what's the point of being the top notch?

But then again,

Master Jing has gone for so long.

Why hasn't he come back yet?

We are late.

There is no obvious sign of fighting in the cave.

It seems that the prince should be safe and sound.

The footprints on the ground are clearly visible.

One big and one small, one deep and one shallow.

Seems to belong to two people.

And one of them has a deep internal force.

He should have taken the prince away.

"Jiangnan (a beautiful city).

Old landscape.

Sunrise blazing better than fire.

The river is green and blue in spring.

How can you forget Jiangnan?"

This poem by Bai Juyi

is not very good.

Four of the five sentences use the word "Jiang".

If I were a poet,

I'd write much better.

Look.

Most of the characters in this poem are written in the same style.

Only two characters are in Old Style.

One is "Jiang".

The other is "south".

This clearly refers to our Jiang family.

With Mr Nangong

You educated people

are really troublesome.

His life is in danger.

Still thinking about making riddles?

Although we didn't find the prince this time,

it confirms our conjecture.

The case of the prince

should be done by Grandpa and Mr Nangong.

W hat are you going to do now?

I plan to rush back to Ambreverde right now.

I can't let him keep going on.

Don't you know Jiang Yintian?

How could he obediently

release the prince?

You are too naive.

The emperor is in poor health now.

The safety of the prince is of great importance.

In order to save the prince and Mr Zhu,

I can only do this.

There is no other way.

I know Jiang Yintian better than you do.

I can get him to hand over the prince.

How?

One life for one life.

Grandpa.

Qingliu.

Grandpa.

It's so late, where are you going?

The room is too stuffy.

I want to talk a walk in the yard.

How about

I accompany you?

That's good.

Come out, you have been waiting.

Let me guess

who sent you.

Jiang Yintian?

Yin Yang Clan?

Or Nangong?

I have too many enemies.

If you count it,

I'm afraid you need to keep counting until tomorrow.

Why don't you tell your names?

If you lose your life later,

I can also know

where you come from.

Boye Jingxing.

How dare you to say that when you are going to die?

I adv ise you to give in right now.

Otherwise, don't blame me for being rude.

A group of ignorant kids.

I was being kind.

But you don't appreciate it at all.

In that case,

let me teach you a good lesson

on the rules of Jianghu.

Today's moonlight

is so bright.

Grandfather.

If the human heart can be like this moonlight,

it would be good.

The moon is also gloomy sometimes.

And people can have blessings and disasters.

Perfection can't last for long.

So sincere and innocent people

tend to have a short life.

Is the prince

a sincere and innocent person?

What do you mean?

Grandfather.

I'll tell you the truth.

I have been to the jail

Mr Zhu has told me

everything.

I didn't expect it.

Grandpa, you would actually use

Mr Zhu's trust in you

to trick the prince.

So...

The person who really kidnapped the prince

is not Mr Zhu.

But you, grandpa.

Just because of the words of Mr Zhu,

you suspect that grandpa kidnapped the prince?

Grandpa.

You tell me, then.

What is true,

and what is untrue?

It's getting late.

Go to bed early.

Grandfather.

What are you doing?

If you haven't met the prince,

where does the injury on your arm come from?

And the red sand on your shoes.

Where did it come from?

When I came along the way,

I hoped none of this is true.

I didn't expect that

What Jing said is right.

I'm so stupid, so naive.

What worries me most

happened at last.

You are on the same side with Boye.

What did she tell you today?

Today?

Grandfather.

How did you know that

I and Boye Jing are together today?

It seems that Mr Nangong told you.

Jing.

Master Jing.

Genius doctor, master Ku.

Don't be frowning.

What's wrong with Master Jing?

Say something.

We couldn't

wake her up on the way.

Shut up.

Let him treat her.

Wha if Jing won't wake up?

Will she be all right?

No, don't talk nonsense.

Jing.

Master Jing.

She wakes up.

Grandfather.

What on earth is in your mind?

You actually helped Mr Nangong to catch the prince?!

Everything I did,

is for the future of the Jiang family.

For the future of the Jiang family?

P eople in Jianghu

should keep the peace

and never interfere in the affairs of the government.

Let alone a struggle for high power

or trying to usurp the throne.

You keep saying

it is for the sake of Amberverde.

But if this matter is known to the people in Jianghu,

our mansion will be ruined.

Do you think the peace in Jianghu

is maintained by absolute justice?

naïve.

Where is the prince?

If you want to know you can find it by yourself.

Just don't know

if he is still alive to wait for you?

Qingliu.

Now the old emperor is dying

The prince is in the hands of Mr Nangong.

The whole court is also controlled by Mr Nangong.

One day he ascended to the throne,

our Amberverde Mansion will be promoted.

By that time

we can use the power of the court

plus the power of the gangs,

I believe I can catch Boye Jingxing.

Grandfather.

About catching Boye Jingxing,

you don't have to spend so much efforts.

What do you mean?

You just tell me where the prince is.

I will immediately let Boye Jingxing

appear in fr ont of you.

The best poisoner in the world,

you really have done a great job.

I just saw my Master came to pick me up.

But you bring me back just that moment.

Look at you.

You are still in the mood to make a joke?

My life is harsh.

I won't die easily.

I spent eleven years in Jiang's dungeon.

But I survived.

Besides, I still have you.

No matter what heaven and hell it is,

they dare not accept me.

Doctor Ku.

You are the best poisoner in the world.

You must have a way, right

Yes, the genius doctor.

You have so many weird poisons which can

counteract other poison,

right?

Now in her condition,

even raising arms

would take ten times more effort than ordinary people.

When she moves more,

the effort expended will be doubled.

Until,

running out of last breath.

Enough.

Without you today,

I'm afraid that I can't

even live for this month.

Just that

I still have a lot of things to do.

Prince's whereabouts have not been found.

I haven't revenged for Chillecho Valley.

Nothing right now

is more import ant than your health.

Starting today,

I don't allow you to take a half step out of this door.

Let Chuan Huadie

and Lan Shanke take care of the rest

of things here.

I do have one thing

I'll leave it to you.

What is it?

Follow Mr Nangong

Find the place where the prince is imprisoned.

OK.

Take a look take a look

Don't miss it when you pass by.

The treasure chest in front of me.

Change one into two.

One tael of silver becomes two taels.

You can really do that?

Don't lie to us.

We are from Nangong House.

True or false.

You know if you try it.

This officer.

Can I borrow a silver coin first?

I feel better today.

Can I...?

No, you can't.

In your current physical condition,

everything is life-threatening.

I can't move my feet suddenly.

I can't move my hands either.

Your tricks

may fool Jiang Qingliu, but not me.

Lie down and sleep.

All right.

Open.

How is it everyone?

So amazing!

Where is it?

I must go.

Even it will cost your own life?

Is it worth it?

It's better than lying in bed

and not doing anything.

If I only cared about my own life

and living in this world,

I'm afraid I should have died eleven years ago.

This medicine can restore your strength temporarily.

But you have to know,

things will be reversed.

The physical strength you consume now

will take your life as the price.

In this world,

I'm afraid only you know me the best.
