[The Legends]

[Episode 1]

Many years ago,

the Demon King, Li Xiu, to unify Jianghu,

practiced a secret skill.

Carelessly, he allowed it to become demonic

and accidentally wounded his son, Li Chenlan, in the process.

The secret skill was evil. Once it entered Li Chenlan's body,

the demon essence grew day by day.

To prevent the demon essence from overpowering Li Chenlan,

Li Xiu sealed his son inside a mountain

and ordered his subordinate, Lu Shi Yi Mai, to guard the seal in the mountains.

Outsiders were not allowed to enter the mountain,

and those inside the mountain could not leave

until the day he returned.

Li Xiu risked everything

and went overseas alone

to find a way to eliminate the demon essence.

But he did not expect to disappear without a trace.

The seal stayed put.

Miasmas scattered all across Fengmo Mountain, no trees or grass ever grew.

Mortals referred to this mountain as Mountain of Sealed Evil (Fengmo Mountain).

I'm so bored!

Every day is the same!

There's not even a mosquito to bite me.

Little girl, why are you so noisy in the morning?

Old man! Help me catch a pig!

I want it alive!

Slow down!

Where did it go?

I saw it running this way.

If we killed it earlier, it wouldn't be able to run.

If we killed it, how could I raise it?

I just want to raise a living animal.

On this mountain, other than you, old man,

we rarely see any other living thing.

When you die, I'll still have to be here alone.

Watch how you're speaking, you stinky girl. No respect.

Did I say something wrong?

I just want a living thing to accompany me.

A living thing?

Those things will die in ten, twenty years.

It's a matter of time for people to be alone in this life.

You must learn and experience loneliness.

I won't let myself to be lonely.

It's there!

Stop! Don't run!

Stop running!

Stupid seal!

Little girl, come back!

Grandpa.

Pay your respects and apologize.

Pay what respects?

Other than to not let us off the mountain, what else can this seal do?

I'm not paying respects. I hate this seal.

We have an agreement.

We'll listen to you for everything else,

you must listen to me on this!

- Guarding the Demon King's seal is our lifetime duty. - Guarding the Demon King's seal is our lifetime duty.

Why is there an echo?

I already memorized it and can recite it.

Okay now?

Yes.

Old man, this seal that we've been guarding our entire lives,

do you think the Demon King's son is really still in there?

It's been so many years.

If he had some power, he would've escaped

just like my parents.

As long as Fengmo Mountain's seal is still intact,

Demon King's son will not be able to escape.

Then, what has the Demon King's son been doing in there all these years?

Does he not eat?

Doesn't want to chat with people?

Does he not feel uncomfortable?

You talk too much.

When the Demon King's son comes out, you can ask him!

Ask him?

Wait for me! Hey!

Old man, the roast pig is ready!

Didn't you say you wanted a living thing to accompany you?

Why did you kill it in one day?

It's too noisy. Next time, I will raise something quiet.

Don't blame me. Who told you to be so noisy that I couldn't sleep at night?

Why are you so picky even with what you chose to raise?

When I was raising you, I couldn't be picky!

Am I a piglet?

The livestock was easier to raise.

What's going on, Grandpa?

I think someone broke through the seal.

I'll go check. Don't go anywhere!

Grandpa!

He ran so fast.

Demon King's son,

go and die!

Where... am I?

Someone actually broke the seal.

My family's mission...

has finally ended!

Greetings Zhang Yu Sect leader.

Deacon Chi, no need to be so polite.

Mingxuan and you went to Fengmo Mountain together. How come you came back alone?

You can all leave first.

Yes.

Did something happen to him?

Jin Xian and I traveled to Fengmo Mountain near Demon King's seal, but the seal's formation was too complex.

I couldn't go near, so Jin Xian went in alone.

I waited until today. I felt the formation fall into chaos for a second, then it got strong again.

I couldn't go in so... so...

With my strength only, there was no way for me to get inside the Sealed Evil. So I came back to report this matter with you, Sect Leader,

hoping we can quickly come up with a plan to rescue Jin Xian.

How many days left till Thousand Dust Pavilion's Immortal Zi Dan comes out of seclusion?

Thirteen days.

We can't wait any longer. You go prepare.

I must pay Thousand Dust Pavilion a visit.

No matter what, we will beg them to rescue Mingxuan.

Yes.

Mingxuan, you better be all right.

Making me stay and wait here every day, I’ll become a mushroom at this rate.

Finally, something happens, how can I not get involved?

What is that thing?

It's a person!

What a pretty person.

Don't worry.

Just for your pretty face, I won't let you die like this.

I said...

for you to stay at home.

Where did you go?

I went out for a walk

to check if anything happened with the seal.

Speaking of which, old man,

there was such a big movement today.

What exactly happened?

The Demon King's son left the mountain?

Let's say the Demon King's son left the mountain.

What are you going to do?

What am I going to do?

I can't do anything.

He left.

I still have to live with you, Grandpa.

This girl certainly knows how to coax me.

I went up the mountain to check.

The land cow probably turned it's body over. (There was probably just an earthquake)

It didn't affect the seal,

not much happened.

You, just stay at home at ease.

Don't go messing around everywhere.

Okay. Then Grandpa, if there's nothing else, I'm going to sleep.

Go.

Pretty person, I brought you something to eat!

He's still alive.

Don't blame me for not taking you somewhere better.

I don't have a choice.

Yesterday, even though my grandfather said it was just the land cow turning over,

which land cow could turn in a way that creates a beautiful person like you?

It's not like the Earth deity turned over.

I think it definitely had something to do with you.

I don't know who you are and I can't carry you home.

You're awake!

Who are you?

You're even prettier when you open your eyes.

Don't move! Your wound isn't healed so keep lying down.

Who exactly are you?

Why is your martial arts so advanced at such a young age?

I'm your life savior.

My surname is Lu and my full name is Zhaoyao.

You can call me–

Lu Zhaoyao.

It's quite an ostentatious name. (Note: Ostentatious is the meaning of her name, Zhaoyao)

My grandpa said

that life is short and bitter so you have to live an ostentatious life.

How about you? Who are you?

Why did you end up on Fengmo Mountain?

Was the earthquake from yesterday related to you?

I was accidentally injured so I ended up here.

Luckily, I was saved by you, Miss.

I cannot repay this debt of saving my life. In the future...

Then you can repay me with your body!

Miss, you must be joking.

I'm being real!

I've never seen someone as pretty as you.

You stay here. I'll raise you.

Okay?

Thank you for your good intentions, Miss, but...

I can't agree to that.

Because I have many things to take care of,

I must leave once my wounds are healed.

Fine.

Then you need to tell me what your name is, or else what do I call you?

I am Luo Mingxuan.

Luo Mingxuan.

Your name is pretty, too!

It's cold at night. If you think it's cold, then cover yourself more.

I brought you many good foods!

Eat first. I'll bring more tomorrow.

Rest well. I'm leaving now.

Thank you so much, Miss.

See you tomorrow.

Please be merciful! Please be merciful!

Please be merciful!

Please be merciful!

Please be merciful!

Have mercy! Have mercy!

Mercy! Thank you!

You must be new. Do you know the rules in our territory?

- Get up. We're asking you a question. - Can you even hear?

Get up!

What are you doing?

Get up!

So ugly! You're scaring me!

Give a little!

Here, split up all these buns amongst yourselves.

What are you guys doing?

Let me see who dares to move.

From now on it belongs to us, got it?!

Do you hear me?

I’m talking to you! Give it!

- Want to get beat? - I don't dare again.

Remember this, do you hear me?!

Stinky brat, are you looking for your death?

The few of you, come over here!

Beat him!

You want our things?

Taking our things! Do you not want your life anymore?

Do you know the rules?

Stealing our things! Do you want to be beaten?

Beat him hard!

Beat him!

This kid can take a beating.

Today, I feel generous. I'll reward you with a dirty steamed bun.

Let's go.

I picked them on the mountain.

Give me one more.

Old man, do you think I look beautiful?

Beautiful or not?

Beautiful like your mom.

That's great! Don't wait for me to eat tonight.

Here.

Are you better? How do you feel? Are your wounds better?

Much better.

What's wrong?

Nothing. It's just that when I touch your body, my fingers feel a bit numb.

Is everyone outside the mountain pretty like you?

You've... never been outside this mountain?

Never been outside.

Do you want to see the scenery outside the mountain?

You can let me see the scenery outside the mountain?

I want to see! Want to see!

It's so pretty! It's beautiful!

How is it?

It's so pretty.

Do you like it?

I like it.

What's wrong?

Sorry, it's my wounds.

Hurry and rest. Stop using your powers.

You're so good.

In the past, we had a lot of people on the mountain. The more I grew up, the fewer people there were.

The ones who've left all say the people outside don't welcome us.

Said we're all born as demons; we're all bad people.

But you don't treat me as a bad person.

You only... have some miasma in your body.

It must be because you spent your life on this mountain and are affected by the miasmas here.

Your clansmen, too.

Is this an illness?

Not an illness.

You were just affected by the miasmas on the mountain.

Your character and kungfu seem to have a bit of evil.

I've never encountered your people before.

But looking now, your nature is not at all bad.

How do you know? What if I am a big bad person?

You have yet to encounter black and white. How can you differentiate good and evil?

Your eyes tell me, you're a kind girl.

Even though you can't choose your birth,

but you can choose how you live.

Choose to be a good person, live to bring peace to Jianghu.

Live to bring peace to Jianghu?

Only by making this choice, our entire life can be meaningful.

You're saying, I should choose this choice, too?

Of course.

Then if I listen to you, I can become someone like you?

It's not easy being someone like me.

Even if it's really not easy,

I still want to be a good person like you. The scenery outside the mountain is so pretty,

and the flowers and grass are pretty like you.

No matter how difficult, it'll be worth it!

Elder Senior,

the Zhang Yu Sect leader, along with Jin Xian's Deacon, Chi Tianming, seem to have an urgent matter to discuss with Pavilion Master.

But Pavilion Master is in seclusion.

It's fine. I'll see them first.

Jin Xiu, you've always been laid back and have never seriously cultivated your techniques.

All day long, just searching for the way to maintain youth.

Why do you have time today to come to Thousand Dust Pavilion?

The way of looking young is not a matter of importance?

Chi Tianming, look at your face–

Enough.

What matter brings Young Master Jin Xiu here today?

Everyone said Thousand Dust Pavilion's first disciple was very beautiful,

but I have never met him.

Today, I made a special trip to see how pretty he really is.

[Thousand Dust Pavilion]

Greetings, Sect Leaders.

My master is in seclusion.

All of Thousand Dust Pavilion's affairs are managed by me temporarily.

What's the urgent matter, Sect Leader Zhang Yu?

To disturb the peace during Pavilion Master's seclusion,

I know it's rude.

But Mingxuan is trapped inside Fengmo Mountain, and we don't know of his whereabouts.

I really don't have another choice.

Thousand Dust Pavilion's magic is the best in the world.

Young Master Qin, please ask Pavilion Master to come out of seclusion.

Jin Xian is my benefactor, and you are being too polite.

But interruptions during Master's seclusion

will turn his power against him.

Young Master Qin, the Fengmo Mountain miasmas have raised many barbarians.

If we don't take care of it, I'm afraid it might become a disaster.

There's a rumor that the Demon King sealed his son in Fengmo Mountain.

Jin Xian has long been concerned. But for the stability of Jianghu,

we must get rid of all the remnants of the Demon King.

Right now, Jin Xian is in trouble.

As comrades of the immortal sects, how can you be indifferent?

One side is good, one side is evil.

If Sect Leader Zhang Yu trusts me,

I am willing to go with the other sect leaders to Fengmo Mountain.

My first disciple brother received Master's teachings along with Jin Xian's wisdom.

Also, his technique has reached a high level, so I'm sure he can help with your urgent matter.

That's good then. Thank you, Young Master Qin.

Then without delay,

let's go right–

I have seen him, and there's nothing special to see.

I won't join in on the fun.

Goodbye.

Oh, the bird is all better now!

I've brought some food!

Eat with me.

It's fine. I've already eaten.

But... I can still eat a bit more.

Eating more isn't necessarily good.

Watching you eat gives me an appetite.

- Tomorrow, you– - My wounds are healed.

They're really healed?

Congrats.

I have to go now.

Outside the mountain is much more beautiful than here, right?

The world outside the mountain is very big, very beautiful.

Nanzhou Sudi green willow. Drizzling rain from the wind.

Setting sun of smoke in the northern wasteland. Frost and snow.

If you ever leave this place, you can find me at Phoenix Mountain.

Remember, do not give in to the demonic path.

You must be a just person.

I know.

Live for the peace of Jianghu, right?

I will be a good person.

Be careful on your way, okay?

If you have time... you can come back and visit.

Take care.
