Lost Promise

Episode 22

Senior.

You spent so much money to invite me here.

You don't just want me

to eat and drink with you, right?

Qingliu .

You are the master of the righteous sects.

How can you depend on such a business for living?

I wonder

what your plans are.

Who are you?

I mean no harm, Qingliu.

I've been entrusted by someone.

I just have an old friend

who would like to meet with you.

I wonder if you'd like to meet him.

Who on earth are you?

You really don't have to be nervous.

Qingliu.

What?

After wandering in Jianghu for a while,

you don't even call me grandafather anymore?

What a surprise!

I can't believe you know people from the Qingyi Hall.

Not only do I know them,

the Qingyi Hall has always been the Jiang family's property.

It is…

That's right .

It's a place that's not known to the public.

The death of many famous people

and great heroes in Jianghu

are the work of the Qingyi Hall.

Grandpa.

Du ring all these years,

I've been eliminating thieves

and being a thief at the same time?

That's right.

Almost there.

It smells good.

Doctor Ku.

This wine smells so good.

Heard it.

You want it?

Have a sip.

Anyway, Valley Master

can't finish the two jars in a while.

You tell me.

Where did you find

this liquor of such good quality?

I haven't had it for a long time.

Where's Lanshan Ke?

He's

probably on the beach ,

maybe thinking about Yuanqiu.

Lovesick.

Get him here.

Let's drink together.

I'll try.

I know it's hard for you to accept.

But our Jiang family is a prestigious family.

There are some dirty things

we should not do but have to do.

That's why we have the Qingyi Hall.

It is true that I have hidden

a lot of family's business from you.

But

whether it's me

or your father, Shaosang,

although we compete for fame and fortune,

we never dared

to do wrong to the Jiang family.

Then who killed

my father?

I don't care how Boye Jingxing

tempted you

or what she said to you.

But she is the real culpr it

for Shaosang's death.

Jing was my legitimate wife.

She's pregnant with my child.

And she's about to give birth.

No matter what you say now,

I won't believe you.

Boye Jingxing lived in the dungeon for 11 years.

After escaping from there,

she's been wandering

just to give birth to a son for you?

What exactly do you mean?

I'm trying to advise you

to keep an eye out.

Boye Jingxing is ruthless.

No ordinary person can compare to her.

That's all I have to say.

Farewell.

Qingliu.

I am your grandfather.

Trust me.

I won't harm you.

Grandpa.

Let me tell you.

Jing is my wife who shares my honor and shame.

I trust her.

And I love her .

While you, Grandpa,

I can't tell whether

you are my grandfather

or a demon now.

Come on, come on.

Hurry up.

Okay.

Go on, it's your turn.

Okay.

Now I'll do it.

A frog .

One mouth.

Four eyes.

Four mouths.

Flop.

Into the water.

Your turn.

I'll do it. I'll do it.

Jiang Qingliu.

Am I, Jiang Yintian,

still your grandfather?

Yes.

My last name is Jiang.

Your last name is al so Jiang.

We can't split up.

Do you understand?

Yes.

I can't change my last name.

Likewise,

you can't change yours either.

Therefore,

the affairs of our Jiang family

is the biggest matter in the world .

The interests of the Jiang family

is the greatest interest of the world.

I have achieved this.

You must do it, too.

Grandfather.

I, Jiang Qingliu,

did nothing wrong to the Jiang family.

Very well.

Then I'll tell you straight.

I know all about where you and

Boye Jingxing are hiding.

She's pregnant and can't be hit.

I could have killed

her while you were away.

But I chose to stay put

in order to let her

give birth to the Jiang family's child safely.

Grandpa.

No matter what happens,

I will do my best

to protect Jing and the baby.

She's about to give birth, right?

Go home when you get the baby.

Amberverde Mansion

will always be your home.

Keep going.

Six frogs.

Six mouths.

Ku Lianzi.

Master.

Master, save me!

Master, save me!

Amitabha Buddha.

Sir, you look unhappy.

Do you have something on yo ur mind?

Master.

I have trouble sleeping and eating every day.

When the hour of darkness passes,

I always wake up with nightmares.

I always dream of my son.

My dead son came to me

with red hair and green eyes.

He scares me to death.

He blames me.

He blames me for not coming

to his rescue at the moment of danger.

I even dropped down a stone on him.

He came for my life.

I really can't stand it anymore.

Master.

Master , save me!

Master, save me!

I really can't stand it anymore, Master.

Master, help me!

I beg you!

Amitabha Buddha.

The Buddhists have redeemed Mr. Baili.

The spirit should have gone to the Pure Land.

Then...

Then why did my son turn into an evil spirit?

Unless...

Unless what?

Unless Mr. Baili died in vain.

His grievance is unresolved.

He

has been transformed into a ghost.

Master.

Master, what should I do?

Don't panic, Master.

After the power of the tantric mantra is applied,

if Mr. Baili's soul is cleaned up,

I will be able to resolve it in a few days.

Please do it quickly, Mast er.

I can't stand it anymore.

I can't stand it anymore!

The Buddhist sect is a pure place.

Please don't worry, Master.

And

didn't you see the streets are cleaned by water

and the pavements covered with yellow clay?

Water on the street and pavements covered with yellow clay?

That...

Could it be that the Emperor is coming?

The crown Prince

made his wish last year at the temple.

Now he has gotten his wish.

He stayed at the temple the day before yesterday.

Today he'll be leaving in half an hour.

I'm sorry

for the inconvenience.

It's the Prince who is here.

Master.

The emperor had a chronic illness a few days ago.

Isn't the prince about to ascend the throne?

Amitabha Buddha.

This is a place of Buddhist purity

with no earthly concerns.

Thank you, Master.

My belly seems to have grown.

It's also hardened.

It hurts.

You're due on the 9th of September .

You have more than 20 days to go.

Chuan Huadie.

Go get some hot water.

Let the Master have a nice hot bath.

Ku Lianzi, Ku Lianzi.

Is she okay?

Sh e's fine.

She'll be fine after a little rest

Mr. Ku.

When will Jing give birth?

It's still more than 20 days away.

Don't be so nervous.

I'll go get some bath water.

No need.

We 're moving now.

Moving?

Why are we moving?

Don't ask. We're moving right now.

Someone

wants my life, right?

Yes.

It's not safe here anymore.

It's your grandfather.

Let's pack up now.

Don' t ask.

Hurry up.

Okay, okay, okay.

Take the two jars of liquor with us.

Take money from others, and do something for them.

You know the rules, Jiang Qingliu.

Is the trustee

my grandfather?

This job is particularly simple.

There are 5 people.

The job is done as long as you kill four of them.

But...

how many people are in the room?

If the number of people is not right,

we won't take action.

You have 2 hours.

Think about it before you answer.

Which one of you wants to witness

the Nineshadows Stroke before you die?

Protect the Prince!

Master.

Sect Leader of the Sevenstars,

Baili Tianxiong is here to protect you.

Jiang Qingliu.

2 hour

. has passed I'm sorry The number of people is indeed not right Jing Qingliu It's a boy Your Highness, the Prince Lord Nangong The assassin has been repelled by me His Highness is safe and sound......... -

Sir.-Go away.

I came late.

I am sorry, your Highness.

Master Baili came just on time.

You will be rewarded with 10,000 taels

of gold and an official uniform.

Thank you, Your Highness!

Send His Highness away.

Send His Highness way.

Hero Baili.

Lord Nangong.

You've paid your respects!

This is what I should do.

Come to me tomorrow to receive your reward.

Thank you, Lord Nangong.

Thank you, Lord Nangong.

Take care, Lord Nangong

. Master. Master. The Abbot has passed away. Amitabha Buddha. I have a child. I, Jiang Qingliu, have a child. Jing. Our child. Come on, Meihun. Say, mother. Lord. I've brought a 30

-year-old family stash of red wine.

I'm here today

to have a drink with you.

Master.

You're very excited?

Yes, I am.

This happiness came so suddenly.

Guess what?

I saved the Prince.

That 's the prince of the dynasty, he...

You stupid bastard!

Do you know who tried to kill the Prince?

Who was it?

It was me.

You?

Why did you want to kill the Prince?

Do you want to die ?

I'm not only going to kill the Prince.

I'll kill you today too.

Drink up. Double portions.

Ku Lianzi.

Do you still remember

what you said?

Yes.

Give birth to a child... and renew your life.

What's wrong with you?

I gave birth to a child.

Why is my body getting weaker and weaker?

Drink this bowl of rouge first.

I have something to say to you.

I won't drink it. Say it first.

You were imprisoned in the dungeon for 11 years.

Although your body doesn't look different,

in reality, your blood vessels are blocked.

Your blood flow backwards.

So I conceived a child,

and also gave birth to a child.

But you have to do one more important thing

to complete your renewal of life.

Don't be a wishy-washy.

What do I need to do?

Use some of the child's blood to make medicine.

What?

Exactly.

He's still so young.

How can you ta ke his blood?

What if I refuse?

Valley Master.

You're not like me.

My life is not worth much.

But you carry a heavy mission on your shoulders.

All of people in Chillecho Valley,

hundreds of brothers,

who killed them ?

Why did they frame you?

And who killed Jiang Qingliu's father?

Why did Susu come to you

to kill you?

Who is behind

all of these things?

You must find out the truth

to do justice to Jianghu.

Otherwise,

the old valley master would not rest in peace.

So, not only must you live,

but you have to live a strong life.

Even if it's difficult and tiring,

you should love your life.

People all love life on the one hand

and detest it on the other hand.

Jiang Yintian.

What are you doing here?

All my old friends are here.

Don't you want to be the Master of Wulin?

Defeat me.

The Dragon Seal will be yours.

You haven't been here today,

and you 've never met anyone.

Understand?

Yes.

Get lost.

Old Master Jiang.

Long time no see.

Master Wei.

We've been fighting for decades.

I never thought that today

we've turned enemies into friends.

Old master, don't you think

it's a very happy thing

to have a real rival in life?

Of course.

You and I are in charge of the sects.

It's a pleasure to fight.

I admit that you are the one I want to kill the most.

And you've been dreaming about

taking my head too, right?

Since ancient times,

good and evil are like water from the same source.

There will be a time when they work together.

In Jianghu,

there are no eternal enemies,

but eternal interests.

Old Master.

You shouldn't talk to me about good and evil.

Others may not know.

How come I have no idea

how righteous you are?

Jianghu is dangerous to live in.

I also want to protect myself.

But it will be different after today.

You and I will join forces.

We can definitely rebuild peace in Jianghu.

It may not be long before

we'll all be able to put our swords in the basements

and live in peace.

Old master is wrong.

Don't forget

Boye Jingxing is still there.

And

I don't only want Boye Jingxing.

I want the kingdom and the country.

Lord Wei, you're too ambitious.

Lord Nangong asked me to come to consult.

Let's get down to business.

The old master is really a man of character.

Then let's get down to business.

Lord Nangong has an order.

The old emperor is dying.

Before he dies, we have to

take down the Prince.

You do it.

I'll cooperate.

Understand?

It's just a small matter.

I don't need your help.

I'll do it

myself.

I have also prepared for you

Extra Nutrition Pills.

One pill a day,

you will regain

your energy and body balance

in just seven days.

Of course, there's no risk to your life.

Master, time is of the essence.

Before the child reaches its first month,

a decision must be made.

Valley Master.

Say something.

Didn't your master

tell you

I've already quit

and last time was the last order?

But this time is different.

This time it's a big deal for General Li's family.

General Li?

The General Li who is stationed at the border.

Lord Li's

only daughter has been kidnapped.

The situation is urgent.

That's why the master sent me here.

I'm sorry.

Who did it?

You don't know

The court is very chaotic at the moment.

The peace-loving faction, Lord Nangong, has the upper hand.

The war faction is being sidelined.

The kidnapping of General Li's daughter

is to force the war faction to compromise.

How many hours have passed now?

It's almost 4 hours.

They shouldn't be too far away.

In broad daylight,

they shouldn't be so reckless.

They should still be in the city.

The master has set up spies at all four gates.

They will most likely leave the city tonight.

Here's 10 taels of gold.

No employer this time.

This is from the master himself.

How will you know

I'll go with this amount of money?

The master said you're a man of great justice.

You won't stand by and do nothing.

He's so confident?

Is that not true?

Go back and tell your master.

This time

it's free of charge.

Valley Master.

I know that you are very concerned about this child.

But time is running out.

You have to make a decision now.

This is your bad idea.

Is there no other way?

This is the only way I can think of.

Before I had the baby,

I thought that I could do anything

in order to get revenge.

But after I gave birth to this child,

I found that I have changed.

Please don't worry about this.

I have been

studying the art of herbal medicine.

So,

I will not let this child suffer in the slightest.

Stop it!

What are you doing?

You want to kill Meihun?

No.

Ku Lianzi.

What are you doing?

Here is the thing.

You know that our valley master

doesn't have much time left to live.

I've made her the Dragon and Fire Pill.

But

I need some of the child's blood

as an ingredient for the medicine.

Ingredient for edicine?

You're crazy!

Are you still human?

It's not like that.

This was all his idea.

I...

Villain.

So you gave birth to the child

just to use him?

You're such a bastard.

Don't keep scolding me.

It was his idea.

I didn't agree.

You...

remnants of the Chillecho Valley.

You're all heartless.

I'll kill you all.

You can't ki ll me.

If you do, my child will have no mother.

Mother?

How dare you be the mother of this child?

You evil-hearted woman.

I never want to see you again.

I never want to see you again.

Well now .

Young master.

The young master is back!

Grandma.

Grandma, I'm sorry.

It's a boy.

It's the young master.

Grandma.

Let Grandma see.

He's so cute.

He doesn't know me yet.

How cute!

I 'm your great grandma.

Go get the nanny.

God blesses us.

Our Jiang family finally has a child.

That's great!

There's no one in the house.

What a pity.

She got away again.

Master Jing.

How are you doing?

Drink some water.

It's all because of Jiang Yintian.

We can't live in the nice beach house.

We have to hide in this dark

wet cave.

Why can't I breathe all of a sudden?

Am I going to die?

Bah !

Idol, you can't die!

What will I do if you die?

I am not afraid of death.

But I can't die.

I haven't took my revenge.

If I can save the body of the valley master,

I won't hesitate

even if it costs me my life.

But the point is

I don' t have the ingredient to make the meds.

What is the magic medicine?

This is

Gragon and Fire Pills

I have prepared for you.

After you have taken the pill,

you will be able to open up your 12 veins,

reach the peak of power

by then you will be unrivaled in inner strength.

However,

if there is no ingredient,

each pill will be highly poisonous.

After the effect of the medicine,

even I can't help you.

Valley master, you

can only leave it to fate .

How long the effect

of such a miracle pill can last?

Three months at most.

Half a month

at least.

Then let's move back to the beach house.

The old monk is coming with a drum on his back.

Where to hide? In the temple.

There's a little boy in the temple.

You look after the house.

I'll go to south to pick watermelons.

The wolf is coming.

I just don't get it.

Why do you want to have a child

and with me?

The lucky ones are destined.

I am old and weak.

I've already forgotten the taste pleasure.

But I haven't yet finished

mu purpose in this world.

Inevitab ly, my hearts is lost in life or death.

I long for mundane felicity...

If there is a family for me...

Say something that I can understand.

I want to have a son and then I can retire.

The wolf is coming .

The tiger is coming.

Grandpa.

Why are you still awake at this hour?

I'm waiting for the nurse

to feed the baby.

I want to take him to bed with me.

You're a man.

How can you take the baby with you?

Well.

I'm feeling a little uneasy.

The baby is still little.

He has to be breastfed every 4 hours.

How can you take care of him?

Grandpa.

It's okay.

Let your grandmother

send someone else

to take care of him.

You should go to bed early too.

No!

The young master is missing.

Oh, no!

The young master is missing!

The young master is missing!

The young master is missing!

Sir, please come in.

Old Master Jiang.

Magistrate Zhu.

I was supposed to visit you.

But it's urgent.

There are many inconveniences in going to your house.

Old Master Jiang, I understand that.

Please tell me what you need.

Nangong has evil intentions.

He's already come to me.

For what?

Magistrat e Zhu.

How is the Prince?

Is he still safe?

Old Master Jiang.

What else did you hear?

Three days later,

Nangong and his men will attack the Prince's residence.

Please report to the Prince

to make early arrangements.

His Majesty is seriously ill.

He will soon pass away.

The bandits will take advantage of the situation.

The court

is already under their control.

General Li is the only one who can be trusted.

But General Li is in the border area.

Water from afar cannot quench the near fire.

The most urgent task

is to put the Prince

in a safe place.

Where?

Amberverde Mansion?

No.

Dragon Spring Temple.

Dragon Spring Temple?

That's where the prince was nearly killed.

How can he go there again?

Magistrate Zhu.

The more dangerous the place is, the safer it is.

No one would have thought that the Prince

would go to Dragon Spring Temple again.

I know.

With what I' ve done,

it will make it difficult for you.

But

since this is the case,

I believe that you, Valley Master

should know better than I do

what is more important.

Let's do it.

Welcome

Your Highness.

Get up.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Protect the Prince.
