=Episode 17=

What is your take on this?

Is this the life you plan to give her?

Do you really plan

to let her provide for herself?

You said you grew up with Xin Xin.

But you don't seem to know her at all.

She is not like you.

You're a delicate gentleman.

You are always about family and connections.

But she is different.

She enjoys life when she has the money.

When she runs out of money,

she can start working without hesitation.

Any kind of life

can make her feel fulfilling.

She is much like me. We are persistent as cockroaches.

So don't use your mindset to judge her.

I know my girlfriend the best.

You may not accept it,

but as her boyfriend,

I must thank you.

Good job.

Jia Jia, this is a huge diamond!

It's so pretty!

Look.

This is gorgeous!

Who gave it to you?

I got it from my boyfriend.

I envy you.

Your boyfriend loves you a lot.

Sure.

What's the matter with her?

We were just talking.

Does she have to leave just like that?

Yeah.

Let's carry on.

This is beautiful.

Yesterday a female colleague

bought some perfume and sprayed it on me

as a joke.

Don't you believe me?

When Mo Xiao Bao came here to fix the pipes,

I didn't lose faith in you.

What are you doing?

Are you trying to see

if there was any perfume on me?

Did you find anything?

Have a sniff.

You suspect me again.

Chen Guang, sorry.

Xi Xi, you made me speechless.

It's enough that you don't go to work,

but what's going on in your mind?

Do you think you're a detective?

No.

No?

I am worked to the bone

for our family.

But you suspect me of being unfaithful?

This diamond is huge and pretty.

I envy you.

Indeed.

I'm coming.

I hate when people lie to me.

If anyone gave me a fake diamond,

it would be so humiliating.

So

I carry this detector with me all the time.

Should we run a test for you?

What's wrong with you?

How is this fake?

Jia Jia, prove her wrong.

Bring it here.

So be it.

There you go.

My lady,

this is a fake diamond!

No way.

There is no way it's fake!

Trust me, it's fake.

Yours is made from moissanite.

It looks a lot like a diamond.

But it's much cheaper.

No way, this can't be a fake.

This is her engagement ring.

Run the test again.

I wouldn't bother.

I got plenty of fakes in the past.

If I couldn't do a simple test, I might as well stay single.

(Jia Jia)

(Hao Zi)

(Xin Xin)

(Yao Jia Ren)

Jia Jia.

Where are you now?

I want you to take me on a ride.

I'm working.

But you could come here.

Did you say you were working?

Yeah.

I'll send you the hotel's address.

We'll carry on after you're here.

Sure.

Bye.

What? Why are you upset?

Did you fight with Kong Hao?

Do not bring up his name.

Come, have a drink.

Cheers.

This wine needs to be decanted.

Not bad.

Our Young Lady Cheng

is working to provide for herself.

Say that again.

Say what you said earlier.

Our Young Lady Cheng

is working to provide for herself.

Providing for myself?

I like the way it sounds.

Had I known working for a living felt so great,

I wouldn't rely on my father.

He kept freezing my credit cards to threaten me.

Bad old man.

What's with that smirk?

You don't seem impressed.

That's not true.

I simply envy you.

We can't change how we were born.

You were born with a silver spoon.

And that blessing follows you everywhere.

You may not want to rely on your father,

but the rich Cheng Jian Ye is still your father.

When you get tired of working for a salary,

you can still go home to be her precious daughter.

Am I right?

Your way of working for a living

and our way of working hard

for a chance at a better life

is still fundamentally different.

Don't be so sure about that.

My father forced me to break up with Zheng Qian.

This time,

I won't surrender to his tyranny.

That's because your relationship is stable

and you haven't run into trouble.

If Zheng Qian always lied to you

and never gave you any promises,

would you be so determined?

Then I should find out why he would lie to me.

A lie is a lie, why bother finding out the reason?

Zheng Qian lies to me sometimes.

I get upset at first.

But when I think about it,

I kind of feel happy.

In a relationship,

what's right and wrong aren't always so obvious.

Haven't you heard this saying?

Love is a lie to begin with.

Some people are fooled for their entire life,

but they have a happy life.

Some people found out halfway and decided to give up.

What matters is

whether you want to be fed with lies or not.

What if the engagement ring was fake?

I didn't get an engagement ring.

What if he did?

Then he would have crossed the line.

I would break up without hesitation.

I don't mind having a normal life.

But I can never accept

a pretentious romance.

Did Kong Hao give you a fake diamond ring?

No, not him.

When I was filming for a TV series,

I met a girl.

It was her story.

My goodness, you got me worried.

The industry is such a mess.

You should tell that girl

to break up with him.

Her man is not worth the love.

(RAMANDA Hotel)

Cheng Xin, this is the payment.

Thank you, Sir.

Keep it up.

Thank you.

(LOBBY LOUNGE)

Oh my!

Why are you here?

To pick you up after work.

You startled me.

How long have you waited?

Just a little while.

I want to surprise you.

So I didn't ask for the time.

I just waited here like a tiger.

You're sneaky.

You didn't get to try the egg pancake.

I bought you two sets.

Why are you so quiet today?

Leon's race is next week.

With the current pace of my work,

I could go without food for a month

and still couldn't afford to buy the flight tickets.

Let me tell you something.

My financing is almost complete.

Where did you get the money?

I...

participated in an entrepreneurship contest for college students.

The judges told me

that a promising young man like me

would surely get the government's support.

Really?

Yes.

I plan to use part of the money

in advance

for your tickets to France.

When my studio starts making a profit,

I'll return the money.

Xiao Qian Zi, you're the best!

Stop!

I love Zheng Qian! I love Zheng Qian!

Safety first!

Safety first!

Sit down!

I love Zheng Qian!

Zheng Qian is the best!

Get me the cheapest ticket.

The economy class of the red-eye flight.

Can you stop for a moment?

Why are you so excited?

Of course.

I've been Leon's fan for ten years.

How can I not be excited?

Where is my mother?

They aren't around.

Since they aren't home,

can we have a toast to celebrate this?

I hope

Zheng Qian's financing will succeed

so he can sponsor my trip

to see my idol in France.

To your health.

Xiao Qian Zi, where is your business plan?

Let me have a look.

I'll go get it. Wait here.

The business plan is here.

Your reward.

Hello, everyone.

Today...

(Hao Zi)

Today...

I have good stuff to show you.

(Hao Zi)

Jia Jia, what's wrong?

Why didn't you pick up the call?

Are you streaming?

Call me when you've finished streaming.

I miss you.

(My Dear Hao Hao) I could bring it home.

See for yourselves.

I bought a whole box for myself.

That's why I have such fair and delicate skin.

Don't hesitate to place your order if you like it.

Xiao Bao.

Hao Zi, why are you here?

I'm working. Why are you here?

Collecting debts.

The owner of this place owes us 50,000 yuan

and it's been too long.

This shop over here?

I'll help you get your money.

I know we can get it with your badge.

Hello?

Did you finish your work?

What is it?

My application didn't go through.

Why?

There is only one spot.

There is another project

that is more matured and stable than my studio.

So I was disqualified.

Don't worry. Don't let this setback get to you.

We'll figure something out.

People will recognize the worth of your business plan.

I gave it a long thought.

I am not really that excited

to see Leon.

to be a debt collector.

don't you feel ashamed?

It's not like 50,000 yuan is a huge sum.

Just pay this poor guy the money.

I don't have the money. How can I pay him?

If you don't have 50,000 yuan,

fine, at least pay 10,000 yuan.

That is the first payment.

Unless you come up with the money,

we are not going anywhere.

Get up!

Get up!

With you sitting here,

I can't do my business!

Get up!

If you can't afford to pay 10,000 yuan,

you might as well shut down the business!

You should close the shop.

Let the customers take a good look at your place,

I bet no one would come here again.

Get up!

Bullies! The officer is bullying us!

What are you doing?

Everyone! Look at these thugs!

He's the bully!

How could you beat up an old lady!

You disgraced your badge!

Let go of me!
