=Episode 05=

Here, your lovely breakfast.

Did I drink too much last night?

I felt terrible.

Delicious.

It's beautifully decorated.

Thank you, my dear.

Aren't you curious about the name of the food you are eating?

What is its name?

Take a guess.

Eat me.

No.

Kiss me, right?

No.

Whatever.

If I don't turn up for work, it'll be "fire me".

Come on.

It's "marry me".

Sit down.

Chen Guang, let's get married.

Xi Xi, I want to get married too.

But give me a little more time.

Wait till I have a house and a car.

All right?

I want neither a car nor a house.

I just want to be with you.

It won't do.

How could

Yang Chen Guang's woman not have something others have?

Even if these don't matter to you,

I still can't make you to feel aggrieved.

As they say,

there is always a great woman

behind every successful man.

We've been together for years.

I just want to be your family.

From now on,

focus on building your career.

I'll be a good wife of yours.

But...

I'm proposing to a man now.

Save me some face.

What about we get the certificate first?

We can have the wedding ceremony later.

Can we?

Can we?

All right, anything you say.

Really?

Okay, I'm leaving for work.

I'll send you.

Okay, go.

Let's go.

Hello, are you passenger No. 0709?

Yes.

I've arrived at your location.

Okay, can you wait for a while?

I'll gather my things and come down.

Give me five minutes.

Okay, see you later.

Okay.

You change side pretty fast.

Are you my friend

or Cheng Xin's accomplice?

Brother,

Cheng Xin has something on me.

That's why I did something against my will.

She saw me on a blind date

and threatened to tell Jia Jia.

What could I do then?

I'm caught in the middle.

But Cheng Xin

doesn't give you any useful information.

Are you still faking it?

Forget it. I'll get even with you later.

I'll get back to work.

Let me help you.

Thank you.

Are we heading to Four Seasons Hotel?

Let's go.

Can you help me move my luggage upstairs?

Okay.

Bug off. Don't touch me.

Why are you angry again?

Baby, do you know that

I miss you a lot?

Hello, Xiao Qian, where are you?

Hello, Xin Xin.

It's inconvenient for me to talk now.

I'll hang up.

Hello.

Tell me.

The number you have dialed is busy.

Hello, Sister Xin.

Do you know where Zheng Qian is?

Sister Xin,

you're the one dating Zheng Qian, okay?

I can't read his mind.

How would Zheng report his whereabouts to me?

I'm asking you something serious.

What's the matter? What happened?

I just called Zheng Qian,

and he said it was inconvenient for him to talk.

Then, I heard a woman's voice.

And she said something about

making her hurt.

And he hung up.

He already turned his phone off when I called him again.

You brat Zheng Qian.

Sister Xin, don't worry.

I'll help you to contact him.

No need.

I have his location. I'll send it to you.

Bye.

This is a big matter.

Don't worry. I'll take a shower first.

Hi.

Have you seen him?

I think so.

You think so?

Look carefully.

How is it?

I'm asking now.

Have you seen him?

What are you here for?

I...

Come over.

What's the matter?

Cheng Xin,

don't make it look like we're here to catch them in the act.

It must be a misunderstanding.

Don't make a fool of yourself later.

Why did he turn his phone off then?

Isn't that what he sometimes does?

He turns it off when someone is troubling him.

Who's troubling him?

No, he's not troubled by you.

Anyway, don't make a spectacle out of it.

Don't you know

Zheng Qian well after all these years?

You're right.

But his phone location

shows that he's in this hotel.

No, I'm still worried.

But I heard

this hotel would usually cover it up for its guests.

You won't get anything out from them.

Okay, we have to investigate it in secret.

Since you're more experienced than me,

you'll take the lead if something happens later.

How would I have the experience?

We are guests.

Are you here for dining or lodging?

- Dining. - Dining.

How is it?

Brother-in-law and that woman are in Room 1001.

1001?

He's the driver.

The chauffeur.

I get him to move my luggage up.

Stop talking. You colluded with him.

Sir, what she said is true.

Tell me.

Since you're here to move her luggage,

why did you hide in the toilet then?

Would you believe me if I tell you that I need to use the toilet?

You...

Open the door!

Not good. It's my wife.

I know you're in there.

You shameless and ungrateful man.

I'll show you and the vixen some colors today.

Quick.

Open the door now!

Come over.

Help me to hold it up.

It's nothing.

Just a misunderstanding. Come on.

Open the door! I know you're in there.

You shameless and ungrateful man.

I'll show you and the vixen some colors today.

Bump into the door. I'll pay for the damages.

Is this the room?

Yes.

1001. That's right.

Corner him. Don't let him go.

Go. Go in.

Madam.

Go in.

Come out, scoundrel!

Scoundrel!

Come out!

My dear.

It hurts.

Catch him!

My dear.

Madam.

Security!

Someone is fighting at 1001.

Someone is fighting at 1001.

Come over quickly.

What's going on there?

Let go.

It's not what you think.

Shut up!

Look!

This vixen and the two-timer

have ruined a family.

I don't even know him!

My dear.

I'm telling you.

I want a divorce.

Don't dream of getting a single penny from me.

Running away?

Stop running!

Stop hitting!

Are you okay?

Are you hurt?

You don't trust me after all.

Brother, I trust you on this matter.

Cheng Xin was the one who pulled me here.

All right. I won't doubt you again.

Xin Xin, you kicked so hard today.

I guess your leg must be hurt too.

In the future,

don't rush over without considering your safety.

Okay?

Hello.

Yes. Who's speaking?

Dangerous driving?

Impossible. How could it be?

Hello, customer service.

Dangerous driving? Impossible.

We never drive dangerously.

We only drank a few sips at lunch

the other day.

We didn't drink much. Only a few sips.

I was worried about him.

I followed him in a car.

How could it be dangerous driving?

Hello, don't listen to her nonsense. I...

Hello. Hello.

Looks like I can't be a chauffeur anymore.

That's great.

You can work at Old Cheng's company now.

Xin Xin, I'm a little tired.

Let's talk about it on another day.

Xin Xin.

Why are you so unwilling

to work at Old Cheng's company?

I've told you before that

my dream is to start a business.

And I don't wish

to rely on my girlfriend to get a job.

What I want is equal love.

Don't make things complicated.

I recognize your capability

and want to get a great helper for my dad.

Listen to me once.

Work at my dad's company.

Okay? Can you?

Please.

You're not going?

I'll stop caring for you.

If you ask me, you just agree to it first.

Then, simply find a reason

to reject her later.

Honey, you're home.

Come on.

You must be exhausted after a long day at work.

I'll get some cakes for you.

Here, try the durian cake I made.

Come on.

Looks great.

Where did you buy it?

I didn't buy it.

I made it based on the recipe

that I found online.

And I bought the butter overseas.

So, this is made from the best ingredients.

Its taste is on par with those sold out there.

Try it.

Bought it overseas?

And made from the best ingredients?

I won't eat it now. Let's talk.

Dear, we're not rich.

You can watch the television

or use the computer at home.

Don't do something that

requires you to spend money and effort.

Are you blaming me for spending money?

I'm not. This costs very little.

Didn't I earn money for you to spend?

Chen Guang, although I'm not working now,

I'm not

a spoilt little princess at home.

Yes, yes.

When you return home every day,

you notice the clean windows and the hot meal.

I do those one step at a time.

I wasn't idle today.

I made time to make a cake.

I did it to add some happiness

to our lives.

Yes, Xi Xi. You're so right.

So, when we're rich,

you can spend it as you like.

But for now,

can you be a little thrifty?

Chen Guang,

I'm with you not for a wealthy life.

I only want to live a peaceful

and enriching daily life.

If you feel that

this city is too competitive and stressful for you,

we can return to your hometown.

I'll follow you wherever you go anyway.

Return to my hometown?

I work so hard here,

yet we're going back to that small county town.

I work so hard

not for that kind of life, Xi Xi.

Chen Guang, this is my dowry from my parents.

I know you love me and care for me.

This money belongs to you and me.

Xi Xi, this... This is your money.

How could I take it?

No.

Do we have to be calculative about this?

All right, then.

I'll keep it safe for you.

Xin Xin,

I feel that there are some conflicts

between us lately.

No.

I shouldn't call it a conflict.

Xin Xin, although

you help me a lot in my life,

when it comes to my career...

That's not right too.

Xin Xin, what are you doing?

Nothing. I'm just daydreaming.

Xin Xin, why don't we have a good chat?

There is nothing to talk about.

Then, what do you want?

Look, I lost my job.

But I didn't blame it on you, right?

Don't be mad.

Have you thought it through?

Are you going to work at the Cheng Group?

Xin Xin,

why don't we stop talking about this?

I don't want to work there.

Don't force me.

Goodbye!

Zheng Qian.

Dad.

What have you been doing out there

every day?

Nothing.

What happened? You're injured.

It'll be fine in two days.

You... You...

Did you come across unreasonable people as chauffeur?

Gotten into a fight?

No, no. I fell.

I accidentally fell.

Is it serious? Let me have a look.

I'm fine, Dad.

Let me have a look.

I'll take a look.

I won't ask you how you fell

or what happened.

I only want to know

if you still want to be a chauffeur.

I've told you

to find a steady job.

Yet you insisted on following your own way.

And opened a stinky tofu shop.

Then, offered chartered car service.

Look at what you'd ended up with.

You called it a quit after a few days.

This proved that your way wasn't working.

I...

I know what you want to say.

You want to try and build a business.

But have you considered that

you've never worked in a company?

Your perception of a company

is entirely based on your imagination.

To prove that something doesn't suit you well,

you have to understand what it is first.

Acting on your imagination

is an irresponsible act on a light note.

On a more serious note, it's a form of escape.

A blind avoidance will not lead you to success.

Whether you're working in the corporate

or running your own business.

Something seems to be missing.

There is no platform.

I won't reach great heights and go far

if I rely on experience and mindset alone.

Zheng, have you coaxed your queen successfully?

I guess it's not easy this time.

It's still fine.

Stop lying. Your failure is written all over.

Don't overthink it.

Cheng Xin's temper

comes and goes fast.

She'll be all right tomorrow.

What about we play one round

to liven up our dull lives?

Maybe some other time.

I have to think about my career.

Okay, go and get busy.

Look for us if you need anything.

We won't be of much help anyway.

Xiao Jia, what's the matter?

What is it?

I passed!

Look!

Kong Hao, look. Is this my name?

Look. Yao Jia Ren.

Yes, that's right. Is it my name?

Jia Jia, you're amazing.

I knew you'd pass.

May I

get everyone together for a celebration?

That's a must.

Come on. I'll take a picture

and show it off to them.

Yes.

Sister Xin, you're here.

Your car is ready.

What's the matter? Not in a good mood?

I'm fine. Go and get busy.

Okay.

Buddies,

why is the name on this picture so dazzling?

Do you all know her?

Isn't she Jia Jia?

Kong Hao, that's a cold joke.

(Hao, that's a cold joke.)

Kong Hao, that's a cold joke.

These two people have good chemistry.

Cut the crap. Give me the chance to say something.

My friends, I've passed the first round.

Come to my house for a celebration.

Okay.

Jia Jia, you're amazing.

Awesome.

What's going on between Zheng and Cheng Xin?

Ask them personally.

Okay.

No, no.

Wouldn't this reply make me a bachelor later?

(Xin Xin, are you still mad at me?)

Darn, you brat.

You've made me so mad for days.

Finally, you try to coax me.

(Xin Xin, sorry for my bad attitude.)

(I've thought about it over and over again.)

(Actually,)

(you've got a good point)

(to ask me to work in the corporate.)

What is this?

Why so arrogant?

Zheng, what's the matter?

I'm inviting you to a meal this weekend.

Give some response.

Hao, Cheng Xin blocked me.

Cheng Xin blocked Zheng Qian.

Jia Jia, hurry up and ask Cheng Xin

if she's doing it for real or a fit of pique.

Okay.

Xin Xin, why didn't you respond in our WeChat?

Come to my house for a meal this weekend.

I don't want to see Zheng Qian.

Didn't he apologize to you?

Forgive him.

If he's going, then I won't go.

If he's not going, then I'll go.

What should we do?

How about this? You persuade Cheng Xin, and I'll persuade Zheng.

Okay.

Zheng, say something in the group chat.

Leave Cheng Xin to me. Hurry up.

Xin Xin, only both of you left.

Give me some face.

Chen Guang, Jia Jia has passed the competition.

She's inviting us to a meal at her house this weekend.

I'm working this weekend.

You go ahead.

Working on the weekend again?

Kong Hao,

I think you better go and buy more ingredients at the supermarket.

It's fine. You boil the soup.

Bring over the ingredients for the hot pot base.

I'll settle the rest.

How are you going to settle it?

I have a way.

Hello.

Hello, Xiao Bao. Have you departed yet?

No.

It's fine. No rush.

Well,

the shop

that sells beef and mutton at our place is already closed.

Is there any meat shop on your way here?

Get some if it's convenient for you.

Or get some sausages.

We have vegetables and meatballs.

All right. That's it.

Zheng, is the vegetable shop at your place

still open?

Ours have already closed.

Get some

if it's convenient for you.

We have meats. All right.

Hello, Xi Xi. It's Kong Hao.

Do you have instant noodles,

dragon beard noodles, or other noodles at home?

And meatballs too.

Bring some over if you have them.

We don't need others.

We have meats and vegetables here.

All right, then. See you later.

Safe journey.

Bye.

Smart people are indeed different,

which is making good use of resources and collaboration.

Can't believe that I said such wise words.

Why do I sound like Zheng?

Why are you acting this way?

We're inviting them for a meal.

How could we ask them to bring us the ingredients?

We're all good friends. It'll be jolly later.

Think about it.

Xiao Bao will be bringing meats.

Zheng Qian will be bringing vegetables.

Xi Xi will be bringing staple food and meatballs.

We don't have any drinks.

Do you think Cheng Xin will agree to bring over

some drinks?

She'll agree to it.

But she'll

see through your tricks immediately.

Forget it, then. We'll just drink water.

Can't you buy some on your own?

Hurry up. Go, go, go.

Hurry up.

Okay.

Don't be so lazy.

I'll go.

Come on.

Here.

Here.

Hao.

Xin Xin.

Don't get yourself too tied up.

Dealing with this meal and Jia Jia is pretty exhausting.

Don't be so polite.

Drink this.

It tastes the same as the homemade ones.

As the saying goes,

hot pot and tea are a perfect match.

What is this?

Xi Xi, where's your handsome Mr. Yang?

Why is he always acting elusively?

He's working.

Working again? Why is he always working?

It's quite good too.

This shows that

he's indispensable in the company.

Isn't this happen to all pillars of strength?

Yes.

All right!

Welcome to my humble house today.

A brilliant humble house.

How do you say it?

My visitors are all educated. Ordinary folks could never be my associates.

Aren't you an ordinary folk?

Get off.

I got everyone here today

to announce a joyous occasion.

Our breathtaking beauty Jia Jia has,

without a doubt, entered the semi-finals.

That's right.

Jia Jia, you're amazing.

Come on. Bottom-up.

Let's celebrate.

As I'm still in the competition,

I'd asked Kong Hao to buy

the sugar-free, fat-solvents Oriental Leaf instead.

Today, we'll treat the tea as wine.

Come on, cheers.

- Cheers! - Cheers!

Hao,

you mentioned a joyous occasion just now.

I thought you and Jia Jia are getting married.

By the way, Hao. Do you have any plans?

I did. Right away.

Soon. Very soon.

What do you mean?

I've never even met his parents.

I've never even met his parents.

Hao, you're at fault.

That's right. My sister isn't worthy of you?

No, how could she not worthy of me?

She's more than enough for me.

But it's also about gradual progress.

It's just like the hot pot.

You can't eat anything if it's not boiled.

Now that it's boiled,

everyone can have a meal, right?

Here, Jia Jia. Eat this vegetable.

Poor man.

Zheng Qian, Cheng Xin.

Both of you never utter a word

since you arrived.

Is something troubling you two?

Why don't you share it with us?

As the saying goes, the onlookers see most of the game.

We won't sit back and watch.

Don't change the subject. We're fine.

Fine?

Then, why did I hear that

someone blocked Zheng Qian?

No, I didn't block him.

You did block me.

When I tabbed into your Moments,

these are what I see.

Refresh it.

You're not blocked.

It's just your fantasy.

You tricked your Mr. Zheng Qian again.

Okay. That's good to hear.

If you ask me, both of you

should put yourself in the other's shoes.

Be considerate.

Look at me.

Jia Jia has entered the semi-finals.

It took me great effort

to promise my mom many conditions.

I made a great sacrifice.

Yes, you sacrificed and went on a blind date.

It must be hard on you.

What do you mean?

What's going on?

Jia Jia.

This is what happened.

Hao...

I'm sorry, Hao. I spilled the beans.

So sorry.

What's going on exactly?

She was introduced by my mom's friend.

I met her briefly.

Jia Jia, Hao was forced into it.

That... That was a misunderstanding.

Both of us went with him.

Well, drive slowly.

Text me when you're home.

I'm still mad at you.

Come on.

Weren't you all right at the meal just now?

Have you mulled it over?

What do I need to mull over?

About working at my dad's company.

Xin Xin, I've been thinking these two days that

it'd be good to gain experience at a big corporation.

But it's not so appropriate to work at your dad's company.

Goodbye.

I've not finished yet, Xin Xin.

You don't need to tell me. I already know the answer.

You're not going.

Xin Xin.

Go away.

Xin Xin! Xin Xin!

Listen to me, Xin Xin.

Xin Xin! Xin Xin!

She's still ignoring me.

I'm at my wit's end.

The same goes for me.

Jia Ren was well-known in her school

for her temper.

We're in the same boat indeed.

Help me to think of a way.

You're more experienced in this than I do.

What do you mean?

Our Jia Jia is...

Yes, more or less.

I'll help you analyze it.

Being submissive would be useless.

No one would come to your rescue.

If you were to go to the enemy's base camp,

you'd be killed by Cheng Xin's dad, the ultimate boss.

I don't get it.

Isn't it just about

working at her family's company?

I don't have the luck.

If I did, I'd have already staggered there.

Why is it my luck?

I'll lose

the right to control my own life.

I don't want Cheng Xin to control my life.

In her eyes, you belong to her.

Of course,

she feels that she has the right to control your dreams.

I'm dating her.

I'm not selling myself to her.

Isn't this what love is all about?

Both of you are mutual property.

It's something holy and inviolable by outsiders.

It's just that

she dominates a little more than you.

She's dominating 99 percent of it.

And you, only 1 percent.

Just go.

Speaking of which,

Cheng Xin loves you so much.

She's very concern and cares for you.

You don't even know how blissful you are.

If you were to meet someone who'd rely on you

for everything

and throw tantrums at you,

it'd useless

for you to cry then.

You sound like you're very experienced.

Do you hold a lot of resentment

towards Jia Ren?

It's not as serious as resentment.

Jia Jia is very persistent

about meeting my parents.

I almost drop to my knees. It's useless.

She asked when she'd be meeting my parents.

When would I contact them again?

Have you tried

treating Cheng Xin like how I did with Jia Jia?

Drop to my knees? No.

Not about that.

I have an idea. Come with me.

Come on.

Come on.

Why are you bringing me here?

Hi,

we'd like to have a look at this.

All right. Please wait a moment.

Thank you.

Thank you.

How is it?

Buying a necklace?

I can guarantee that

all girls like it.

I usually use this trick on Jia Ren.

You never bought Cheng Xin any necklaces, right?

Try it. It works.

She'll look great in it.

How much is this?

Sir, this costs 18,000 yuan.

Any discount?

The one you have an eye on

is the all-love diamond series

of Chow Sang Sang Flagship Store.

There is no discount.

Zheng, here. Hold it.

Didn't you say this looks good?

I think it'll look great on Cheng Xin.

Buy this for Cheng Xin.

I'll look around.

Sir, do you need the bill?

This looks great.

I'll look around first.

Put it away. Thank you.

We've visited so many stores.

I can't afford the ones I have an eye on.

The ones I can afford

are those with 925 sterling silver.

I, Master Kong, have fallen to this point.

Such a pity.

And she has many branded jewelry.

The one I can afford may not be up to her standard.

Come on.

Don't make excuses for your incompetence.

Okay?

It's a gift from you.

How could it be compared with those she bought herself?

Look, Zheng Qian.

How could you talk about dreams

when you couldn't even afford a gift

to coax your girlfriend?

Let me tell you.

That's why

I want to build my own business.

I want to use the money I earn

to buy everything she likes for her.

Then, earn a high salary at her family's company.

Won't you be able to achieve that immediately?

Are you a fool?

If I were to work at her family's company

and take a salary from her dad,

wouldn't it be the same as the bags and the necklaces she received

from her dad?

You

have a high spirit and strong self-esteem.

You think on your feet.

Why are you going after something that is beyond your capability

and forcing yourself into a dead-end?

What do you mean?

I chose this path.

Here's your opportunity.

Kissing contest?

I'm telling you.

I'd rather save up money to buy the necklace.

I... I can't accept it.

What are you thinking about?

I'm asking you and Cheng Xin...

Get Cheng Xin here

and kiss her in this contest.

You two will reconcile then.

I'll get Jia Ren here too.

No, this is the situation.

The first problem is

she won't come.

The second problem is

she may not let me kiss her if she comes.

I don't stand a chance.

Are you giving up then?

For the pitiful self-esteem of yours,

you've betrayed Cheng Xin's love for you.

I look down on you.

Think about it. Who bought you these clothes?

I bought them myself.

Who kept you company when you studied in the middle of the night?

It was you.

Who watched you play basketball every day?

I don't play basketball.

Shut up.

Who knocked on you?

Who made your heart stir?

Fine. I didn't say that I'm not calling her.

Hurry up, then. It's about to begin.

She's not answering my call.

That's true. Jia Ren isn't answering my call too.

Got it.

Cheng Xin, where are you?

Come over now.

Hello, Jia Ren.

Where are you? Come over now.

Zheng Qian (Kong Hao) twisted his foot (waist)
