For today's maxi-challenge, we are doing a performance

to RuPaul's "I'm A Winner, Baby".

We have each written our own custom verses,

and I am super excited to perform the shit out of this.

Are you happy with your lyrics?

Mine just came out of me.

I'm really vibing them, I really love them.

I feel really good about this.

I actually wrote two, and the first one I felt like it was coming from Richard,

whereas I really wanted to write, like, a Karen verse.

I wanted to kind of write something on behalf of all the girls that aren't here.

Darling, they're dead, move on.

Like, Karen as a motivational speaker.

It's kind of along the lines of, like,

no matter what happens, we've all already won.

"Everyone is a winner, love the world," duh-duh-duh-duh-duh.

There's no pleading my case, like,

"I'm the fiercest bitch here, and put the crown on my head,

and cut off everyone else's." There's none of that going on.

- That's exactly what I did. - Ah!

It's a very interesting decision.

Could be to my advantage,

so I of course encourage her and tell her she's on the right thing.

I want the audience to know exactly what I have gone through

in this competition, and they can feel the journey that I have experienced.

It has been so raw, and so real.

I've already proven that I can, like,

write really fucking sick rhymes and spit them,

so I wanted to show another side,

that I could write some really heartfelt lyrics, and sing them beautifully.

So, in this competition, what's been your biggest challenge?

It's the emotional part, behind the scenes.

Not being able to talk to the people that you love the most,

just to get them to say, "You can do this."

- Right. Mm-hmm. - It's been really hard.

And, did you ultimately draw on your own strength to get through it?

Um, well, yes, and also my partner gave me a package

that was full of letters from all the people in the world

that matter the most to me,

so every episode I've been opening a letter from home.

- Ah! - And just getting words of support.

How helpful is that?

So, well, you've got Michelle and I here, is there anything you'd love to ask us?

Oh, advice on how to prepare for what comes after?

What you have to be most careful of is to not allow your ego,

which is part of your inner saboteur,

to lead you down a road that will destroy you.

You know, we talk about not reading the comment section.

We talk about not taking the bait that your ego will tantalize you with.

You keep yourself in check, don't get too distracted by all of this...

- Noise. Yeah. - Noise.

- You know what I'm saying? - Never forget what you have

in your life that's good. That's what matters.

How did that change the way you approach the competition?

Um, I think what I've learnt is it's okay not to have control.

Like, relax and enjoy the ride, you know?

You are the breadwinner for your family, and many people depend on you.

- Yeah. - That's a lot of pressure

- on someone so young. - It's how I flourish, and I strive,

and I like to feel like, you know, I'm helping people.

You're funding this, you need to pay your bills,

you're running 10 drag shows.

You... you know... whatever it is, and then you have to stop and say,

"Who the hell is gonna take care of me?"

RuPaul: Hello, or, hell-er.

- No. - You can't.

And if you can't answer that right now, then that's a problem.

I guess it's never been pointed out as a possible negative attribute.

The only negative in it, baby, is that you're gonna burn out.

- That's the only negative. - Yeah.

But you give so much that you're gonna be empty.

It's been my way of life. It's all I know.

I think you like to feel that way, 'cause that's the way you have to feel.

- Yeah. - But, it's also okay to say,

"I can't wait to have somebody in my life

"that can share the responsibility, to take the pressure off of me.

It's okay if I can't do everything."

These words are the words that you're gonna have to start making peace with,

or you're going to explode.

Do you have any tips?

The way you feel that you exist is through other people,

and that if they need you, then you exist.

But, if you can convince yourself that you exist as a solo agent,

that's the beginning of it.

I do hope, and I will try, to make changes for myself.

I know that you, uh, lost your mother when you were 14 years old.

You look so much like your mother.

- Michelle: Really? - Karen: Yeah, yeah.

Michelle: Is Karen From Finance based on Mum?

No, not at all, not at all.

My mum was a bookkeeper.

She did work in finance, but the, um, the person...

Hold on a minute.

Look, I don't base her off Mum.

I think that what it is, is that I probably invoke

the female energy that she instilled in me and my brothers when we were younger.

Karen's very sweet, very gentle, and very loving.

And very caring, and I think I invoke that for my mother.

Do you feel boxed in by the legend of Karen From Finance?

Yeah, I feel boxed in by the restrictions that I put on

only being able to play a finance worker, but I also at the same time,

it's like a fun challenge, you know?

Because I have to look at everything through her eyes.

Yeah, well, you did that successfully last week.

And it worked beautifully.

It's been so exciting to watch the transformation, and watch you grow.

One day I would love to create a show with a full cast of office workers,

and just be a really grand, theatrical, like, abomination.

because a lot of stuff was said at me, and it hits me when I get a moment of quiet.

Are you okay?

This is the first time I've had a different lens put on myself.

It's like, and I'm... I think I'm upset because I know it's true.

- The balance isn't there. - Yeah.

If these people, these outsiders, can see that, that's not good.

And I've always been like, "Oh, it's 'cause I'm just so busy, I'm working,

I'm doing this, and I'm doing that."

But I haven't been letting people look after me the way I look after others.

It's not that I don't have a partner, it's just that I'm not letting people in.

Exactly.

I've been let down by so many people, that it's much easier not to let them in.

And, I don't think it's saying, like, you must stop and let everyone in.

- Yeah. - It's just being open to the concept

of letting the right people in at the right time.

I don't know, maybe I'm scared.

This is the perfect time to assess and rebuild and re-evaluate,

because this isn't a way to live.

I'm glad this has happened.

I'm glad I didn't walk out of here just being like,

"Cool, got to the end. Loved it."

I'm excited for a new... outlook, and a new way to think.

Are you surprised you're here?

Yeah... yes, no. No.

You came here with a lot of confidence,

but throughout the competition, there was a lot of self-doubt.

Yeah, that was probably the biggest surprise.

It's funny, like, all of a sudden I felt like this regression of, like, where...

How I felt when I first started drag.

Each time I've talked about the weight loss,

- that is a huge overcoming situation. - Michelle: Yeah.

You need to now deal with the original issue that you've tucked away.

Yeah. What comes to the top of your list of issues

that you feel you haven't dealt with?

Yeah, I'm, like, desperate, I'm desperate, um, yeah, for love,

and I don't know where that stems from.

- Can I... Can I tell you? - Mm.

Not being a professional, but it's 100% associated with trauma.

My need comes from being adopted, and not wanted from birth,

so I spent a whole life just wanting people to love me.

But you are not equipped to do that alone.

Yeah, it makes so much sense.

Tell me about your upbringing.

Um, my parents split up, and my sisters went and lived with my mother,

and myself and my brother went and lived with my father.

My dad didn't get me, and I didn't get him.

It got pretty dark for a while, but, um...

And that's the problem, and that can be repaired by you.

You need to start a relationship...

The adult you... with that child who lives inside of you.

"Let me give you a hug, my child. I love you so much."

Savor this moment.

These are the words you have to use.

You are an amazing person.

Let that sink in.

It's a reprieve from this inner battle

of looking for someone else to do it for you.

Looking for food, or booze, or, you know...

- Dick. - Fame. Or dick.

It's so wise, it's like a lightbulb moment,

and I have looked to everybody else that I've come across in my life.

It needs to come from myself.

And this way we've described will allow you to release

some of the old mechanisms that just don't work anymore,

they just don't, and to take you to that next level.

and I've been dying to release my mechanism, too.

You kind of think coming into this it'll be one thing,

but it really has given me something more than I could ever have imagined,

and I'm so grateful.

It is the last day in the Werk Room.

One of us is gonna be crowned the first Drag Race Down Under superstar.

I can't believe the time has come, this is amazing.

Hey, Kita, how was your chat yesterday with Ru and Michelle?

Felt amazing, amazing.

RuPaul touched on potentially, like,

maybe where some blockages in my life have come from.

- Right. - When my parents split up

when I was young, my sisters and my mother all went to live together,

and I had to move in with my dad and my brother.

My dad did not know how to communicate with me, and how to, like,

tell me that, like, I wasn't a weirdo, and, like, you know, it was... it was hard.

When I lost my mum when I was, you know, 14,

I was left in a house with just boys,

and they were all about the football, and being rough, and I was none of that.

I had very femme energy, and was interested in theater and music,

and they just didn't get me, and I felt like such a loner in that house,

and kind of forced myself to become my own person, to be really independent.

And to have spent my entire adulthood,

like, still doing that when it's completely unnecessary

- because I do have a beautiful family... - Right.

And, it is time that I start letting them in.

I've never met my dad... ever.

But, when I was about 16, he tried to get in contact with me,

and then, so I sort of started reconnecting with my dad,

and then, a few months later he found out I was gay,

and never spoke to me ever again.

I had a similar thing that happened with me and my biological father.

We regained contact during my teenage years,

and then I was on the front page of the newspaper,

and then he ceased contact with me.

Fucked, eh?

I laugh at it now, because a few years later, I'm on national ad campaigns,

and he has to hear me on the radio, see me on buses...

- Yes, bitch. - See me on the TV.

And now we're gonna be on national television

- as fucking drag queen superstars. - I know!

- I don't lose sleep over it at all. - Neither do I.

- At the end of the day, it's his loss. - Yeah.

But this is the reason that we create these hard fronts and these personas,

to be, like, strong in the world, because shit like this still happens all the time.

For years, I've always seen, like, asking for help as a sign of weakness.

It's one of those things that's really sort of drilled into us, I think,

as men, and the thing is, queer people like us are way more vulnerable.

It is a lot more dangerous out there for us.

But the fact of the matter is,

- I wouldn't change a fucking thing. - No.

No, no way.

Because there's so much power in, like, realizing yourself,

- and who you are as a person. - Yeah.

No matter what the world thinks of you, if you can own that,

there's nothing stronger.

People have gone through some really heavy shit.

These people are survivors, these people

are, like, people I look up to as great entertainers, as, like,

funny, fierce, fabulous, gay people.

The shit we go through actually makes us so strong as human beings.

Isn't it amazing, though, that this experience has really been

so much more than I could've ever have...

We thought we were coming in for a drag competition.

Right.

This... this whole journey on Drag Race has been totally nuts,

and now we get to perform all together for one last time on the main stage of.

RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under.

Art, for me, represents nerve.

She went out week two in this competition,

and since she came back, she really has been a joy to watch.

And I think Art is a perfect example of someone

who has learnt so much about herself,

at the same time as being a pretty incredible drag queen.

Art is a contender.

You know, we discovered yesterday that there was a lot of control issues.

By unloading that, you would offer us, and the world,

some much-needed vulnerability.

Just let a little more vulnerability in, and she is unstoppable.

All right, up next, Karen From Finance, Michelle.

You want to talk about uniqueness,

I mean, Karen From Finance in and of itself is a character,

and I think the first one of its kind in the history of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Rhys: She thinks about every part of her drag.

I think throughout the competition that has gotten in her way, though.

And there was a moment, I think, where she kind of did shake off,

and from then on we saw great things.

Karen From Finance is the epitome of what Down Under queens do,

and what they are.

Michelle: I can't wait, like in a year or two years' time,

to see where she's gone, because I have a feeling

it's gonna be everything we wanted her to be, and more.

All right, let's move on to Kita Mean.

Michelle: Kita Mean's got charisma.

From the beginning, I did chalk her up to be the party queen, if you will,

and about halfway through the competition, something clicked,

and Kita Mean kicked in.

She had a different presence about her.

It's almost like she shed a skin.

Even at the start of this competition, when you'd ask her a question,

we'd all have to kind of lean forward,

and by the end of it, she's confidently standing there, saying how she feels,

and I think that is a really beautiful thing.

After her business partner, Anita Wigl'it, left,

she was able to emerge, and boy, did she ever.

She has really just excelled in this competition.

Scarlet Adams puts the "T" in talent, and you knew right away,
