[New Horizon]

[Episode 36]

How is it, Mom?

Is there any news?

(Do you have to rush me?)

How is it going? Any news?

(Yeah, I asked my friend who is in charge)

(of the hotel in Hangzhou)

(to investigate.)

(For detailed information,)

(I'll send it to you later.)

(Just see for yourself.)

Really?

That's great. Thanks, Mom.

(Wait.)

(Are you doing this for Xiao Mo again?)

Certainly not.

It's for the whole company.

Well, I'll call you later.

I gotta go. Bye.

Hello?

Hello, Xia Yu. I got the proof.

It's true that

those four passengers got poisoned

from the food in the hotel.

Sure?

How did you get the proof?

It doesn't matter.

What matters

is that the Air Genial

don't need to be blamed

for the food poisoning.

But you are on your own from now on.

OK, I got it.

Thank you, Wu Di.

That's resolved, really?

It's absolutely true.

Those passengers

got poisoned for the food

in that hotel.

It has

nothing to do with us.

Great!

Xia Yu can rest easy.

He's upset

not only about this.

You mean the new air route?

It wasn't settled

even when the chairperson was here.

While he's left now,

I'm not sure

whether Xia Yu can get through it.

Mr. Xia's funeral arrangements

have been made.

The guest list of the funeral and memorial

is also here now.

Please check it out.

If it's OK,

we'll send

invitations out today

according to this list.

By the way,

there are some press releases

about the food poisoning and the new air route.

Mr. Xia has just passed away.

These journalists

must have many questions to ask.

I think

I can write a script

as the acting chairperson

of the board of directors.

People are also caring about the leadership transition

of our company.

If Xia Yu is not here,

this...

Xia Yu

has just lost his father.

He's still in grief.

We'd better not disturb him.

All right.

Xia Yu,

why do you come?

How are you feeling?

Yeah, Xia Yu.

You've got us in business.

You'd better take care of yourself.

There's no need for you to go to work in a hurry.

I'd appreciate it, Mr. Liu.

I'm okay now.

Young people are really tough.

That's so kind of you.

May my dad rest in peace.

But people alive need to move forward.

I believe if my dad was alive,

he would hope so.

Am I right, Mr. Lei?

Sure.

Okay, let's start.

Nothing is more important

than the normal running of the whole company.

Just now, we mentioned

the food poisoning

of four passengers.

I kept following up on this.

It's pretty much settled.

Is it really solved, or...

I have strong enough evidence

to prove that

the poisonous food

is not from our plane

but from

the hotel

where they stayed before boarding.

I'm preparing to file a lawsuit

against their slanders

and clear the name

of Air Genial.

About this,

I'll also make a statement

on behalf of our company.

I didn't expect that

you can still keep calm after all these

you've been through.

It seems that

Mr. Xia Junior is also very capable.

Yeah.

He's truly the son of Mr. Xia.

Okay, well done.

Since it's solved,

I can rest assured.

All right,

let's continue to

talk about the new air route.

Today,

I want to hold a vote.

Now?

If we kept waiting,

the public would think

our Air Genial

is headless.

Going through the report,

you'll find

the route in Hangzhou

has been saturated.

It's clear that

the route in Beihai is more promising

and it can bring us more

financial benefits.

Since voting

can get things done,

why do we have to put it off?

You've said that

nothing is more

important than the normal running of the whole company, right?

Okay, let's vote then.

Gao Kai.

If you are in favor of the new air route in Beihai,

please raise your hand.

My father had been against it before.

So I object to this proposal.

You may make the decision.

Xia Yu voted against it just now.

What about you three?

I object.

Me too.

What do you think, Liu Quan?

Mr. Liu, you'll abstain or...

It's about the interests of the whole company.

How can I give up?

I agree with Mr. Lei.

This, this...

Well, in that case,

now

as the acting chairperson,

I'll announce that the project of new air route in Beihai

formally passed.

Please,

Mr. Lei,

have some tea.

You're really welcome.

You earned it.

Mr. Liu is the elder of our company.

You are

such a pivotal figure.

This time you gave up your neutrality

and took my side.

It's a real honor to me.

You can rest assured.

With your support and trust,

I will make

the Air Genial better.

With Mr. Lei in charge,

I'm certainly relieved.

Come on, just have some tea instead of wine

to wish you all the best.

Yeah, all the best.

Lei Chen has sent the press releases

to many media

about the project of

new air route from Shenzhen to Beihai.

They have started the advertisement.

But they haven't released any details yet.

Maybe they just want to attract some attention.

The Brexit vote has been

going on so long

that they haven't done it.

Now the board

of directors just had a vote on it.

Don't worry.

Since Mr. Xia died,

the development of our company has declined.

Lei Chen

has won the support

of many directors.

It seems that he wants to compete with you

for the position of chairperson.

Such a scheming man!

I won't let him get what he wants.

How is

my father's funeral?

Everything is in order.

OK.

Hello.

You feeling okay?

I've spoken with your doctor.

He said that you're recovering well.

Shortly after you can be discharged from the hospital.

Alright.

Well, my aunty

has called Ren Yuan for you.

He just gave her the runaround,

saying that you are busy.

When you feel better,

remember to give her a call.

I got it.

Sister.

Today is Uncle Xia's funeral, right?

Yes.

They are all there.

I come to see you first.

I brought you

a nice porridge.

Eat it when you go back later.

Okay.

My condolences.

My deepest condolences, Mr. Xia.

Dad, please rest assured.

I'll make sure

Air Genial is kept in my charge.

I won't let anyone take it away.

I'll make those who hurt Air Genial

and you pay.

Dad, you and Mom

must bless me in heaven.

Mr. Lei,

the project of the new air route has been settled.

Xia Bo Yang has also been buried.

Why do you look

so anxious now?

To be honest,

I've battled with Xia Bo Yang

for many years in the company.

His sudden death

makes me feel empty.

You see.

How can such an arrogant man like Xia Yu

take charge of our company?

By the way,

if he inherited all the shares

of Xia Bo Yang,

he'll be the largest shareholder.

He must come back

to run for the chairperson

one day.

Then... what should we do?

Try to sign the contract

before Xia Yu

takes action to compete for chairperson.

So that

the project of new air route

can start as soon as possible.

Okay.

I'll contact them right away.

Also,

ask Liu Quan to make preparation

for the new air route quickly.

If the pilots are insufficient,

employ some from outside and pay them well.

Anyway,

we need to try everything.

Okay.

(Here's the latest news)

(from our correspondent.)

(Xia Bo Yang, the chairperson of Air Genial,)

(died in a car crash unfortunately.)

(Investigation suggests that)

(it was an accident.)

All right.

The lawyer is on his way.

Okay.

Yu.

If you inherit

the shares of Mr. Xia.

You'll be the largest

shareholder on the board of directors.

By then,

you will be entitled to reappoint

the chairperson,

including yourself.

I'll wait and see

how long Lei Chen will be happy.

Now the board

needs someone like you.

Mr. Xia, Lawyer Wang is here.

-Hello. -Hello.

-Hello. -Hello.

Have a seat.

According to

Mr. Xia Bo Yang's will,

his shares

in Air Genial

will be divided evenly into two parts,

one for Xia Yu

and one for Xiao Mo.

Each owns half.

Excuse me?

Half? Xiao Mo?

Yes.

Xiao Mo is also the beneficiary

of Mr. Xia Bo Yang's legacy.

You must be mistaken.

It's not my father's will.

I'm not mistaken.

It's truly the will

of Mr. Xia Bo Yang,

notarized and valid.

I said

this is not my father's will.

Well done.

Hello?

Okay, I got it.

It's interesting.

So interesting.

What's so interesting?

Xia Bo Yang divided his shares

into two parts in his will.

One is for Xia Yu.

You guess the other one is for whom?

Whom?

Xiao Mo.

Xiao Mo? What...

What's his story?

How should he get

half of Xia Bo Yang's shares?

I don't know

why he did so.

But I'm sure that

with just half of the original shares,

Xia Yu won't

be the largest shareholder.

The final key is

whether we can get the support

of Xiao Mo.

Where two are fighting, the third wins.

Yu, don't drink so much.

Calm down and think about it.

Mr. Xia's arrangements

must mean something.

What meaning can it have?

It's clear that

Mr. Xia wants you and Xiao Mo

to be good friends.

Maybe in this way,

you'll cooperate with each other.

No way. It won't work.

He's just forcing me.

Yu, calm down.

Once the contract of

the new air route was signed,

it would be cut and dried.

It's impossible for you to overthrow it.

If you really want to stop it,

you must align with Xiao Mo

to deal with Lei Chen.

What do you think?

You look great.

You can walk on your own very soon.

I hope so.

Xiao Mo, I can't help myself.

I want to ask you a question.

There's a rumor that

you're the love child of Mr. Xia.

Is that true?

How could it be true?

Those people only think dirty.

How can you believe

those guys' words?

I asked

because I don't believe them.

Haven't I told you that

just because Xiao Mo's father

gave Mr. Xia

the only chance

to go to the university,

Mr. Xia could establish

the Air Genial later.

He always

felt indebted to them.

So

in the will,

he gives his heritage to

both Xia Yu and Xiao Mo.

Is it so hard to understand?

That's a big amount of money.

It's given to Xiao Mo just because of this?

All right.

Xiao Mo,

what do you think?

What are you going to do with the money?

Since Uncle Xia

has given it to me,

whatever it is,

I can't really say no.

Xiao Mo, how are you feeling?

Not bad.

I didn't expect that

you'd come in person.

I have to.

When Mr. Xia was still alive,

he treated you as his own son.

He's gone now.

I must come to visit you for him.

How is the misunderstanding between you and Xia Yu?

Has it been settled?

Actually,

it's not a big deal.

Well,

I first met you

when he accused you

of hurting his mother.

He might think his dad

died because of you.

Mr. Xia

spoiled him too much.

Don't let him get you.

I see.

Today I also

want to

talk with you about another thing.

I'm not sure whether it's proper.

Just go ahead.

Well, Mr. Xia

divided his shares

in two,

one for Xia Yu

and the other for you.

What's the reason? He means well.

He thought Xia Yu was still childish

and he couldn't cut the mustard to take the charge.

So he gave you the shares

in the hope that you could help him.

But

Mr. Xia's death

made Xia Yu

immersed in grief.

You are also injured now.

But we need to keep the company in normal operation.

There must be someone to be in charge.

I am the elder of our company.

I must stand out.

I need your support of course.

My plan is that

I will lead the company

for a time.

When Xia Yu is more mature and more capable of

taking the charge on his own,

then I'll give it back to him.

I hope that I can get

your help and understanding.

What do you think?

Mr. Lei,

you have a point.

I'll think about it.

Dad,

why did you do so?

You didn't trust me?

When the shares are decentralized,

the whole Air Genial is also fragmented.

You know

I need these shares

to fight with Lei Chen.

Why did you do that?

I've told you

I will keep Air Genial in my charge.

And I will certainly make it.

I came to your house.

The nanny said you're here.

Yeah, the house is empty.

At least my parents

are with me here.

Have you had lunch?

Let's go and eat something.

I have no appetite.

I know the company is suffering a lot.

You are

in the cross-hairs.

Xiao Mo is in the hospital too.

Wu Di is busy.

I haven't seen her for a long time.

I can only sit by

and can't do anything.

It's been a hard time for you.

It's you who is having a hard time.

Health is the most important.

The harder it is,

the more you need to eat.

Go and have something to eat with me.

I think your father doesn't want to

see you being like this either.

Let's go then.

I came here without any hidden agenda.

I just want to say that

you can have the shares.

But it's a crucial moment now.

I really need you to help me

become the chairperson of the board

so that I can beat Lei Chen.

It won't

hurt you.

All you have to do is to help me.

I'm still injured.

Don't want to talk about this.

You have only two options,

me or Lei Chen.

If you don't help me,

are you going to help Lei Chen?

Are you going to ask for help with this attitude?

No...

You want me to beg you,

right?

Okay, okay, I beg you

to be on my side, OK?

It feels good to have someone begging you.

Just give me some time to think about it.

All right, take your time.

You are here.

Why didn't you tell me beforehand?

Are you really going to help Lei Chen?

Don't you want to know

how is my recovery?

I've heard your conversation

with Xia Yu

downstairs.

Are the shares

so important to you?

Have you forgotten

how kind was Mr. Xia

to you before?

He really valued you.

Do you forget all that?

Yeah.

Sometimes, Xia Yu

may be wayward and naive.

You know these.

He's your friend.

Can't you just do him a favor?

Can we talk about something else?

Why do you care about Xia Yu so much?

I do care about him.

He's my friend.

What about me?

What am I?

You are also my friend.

But I don't think I know you anymore.

I've been in the hospital for many days.

It's the first time you have come to see me.

The moment we met,

you asked me so many questions.

And it's all about Xia Yu.

Seemingly Xia Yu

is really important to you.

Or the person I am right now

is just a cold-blooded bastard

in your mind?

You can just leave.

Have some rest.

Stop drinking.

Just a little bit.

Xiao Mo,

the ungrateful man,

ain't worth it!

Exactly.

It's so simple.

Everyone can see it.

Why can't he?

My dad gave him the shares

so that he can help me.

But him?

He now thinks he's

a real shareholder.

What does he mean?

Look.

Without the money,

Xiao Mo's nothing.

Is there any room for negotiation?

Not at all.

Have you ever seen me

begging someone?

I almost

went down on my knees

in the hospital today.

He's still impervious.

Something must be wrong then.

If Xiao Mo is not helping us,

is he going to help Lei Chen?

Who knows?

I've always thought

he's a man

with principles.

It turns out that

he's just

a mercenary villain.

He hoodwinked me,

Wu Di,

and everyone.

My dad had always been wise.

Why did he give money to Xiao Mo?

It might not be the case.

Even if it is,

drinking to forget

and groaning here

doesn't help anything.

It's late now.

You can get back and have a rest.

We'll figure it out later, okay?

I'll get you home.

No, I haven't had enough.

You can go first.

Alright.

I need to use the bathroom first.

Wait for me.

I'll be back and get you home. Did you hear me?

I said I'm not going.

Always nagging.

Who is it?

Xia Yu?

Where's Wu Di?

She's on a long-haul flight.

Then tell him when she's back.

I finally figure out

what kind of villain

Xiao Mo is.

Villain? What happened?

My dad left some shares for him.

I came to ask for his help.

He refused.

Did he explicitly say no?

Not really.

But he said he needs to think about it.

Maybe he

has same worries

as Mr. Xia.

What do you mean?

Xia Yu,

actually you're much

luckier than your peers.

You are

a highborn man.

You never need to

worry about your livelihood.

You don't need to be responsible for others either.

We are not like you.

Since we were children, we've been told to

be strong and independent and to act for ourselves.

We need to make a living for our own

and even for the whole family.

If you can't make it through,

you'll be eliminated

by the cruel world.

Mr. Xia gave the shares to Xiao Mo

to teach you

this lesson.

Xiao Mo is not a bad person.

You know that too.

I think the reason he did so

was because he wanted to see

where you can get

on your own.

Well, I have to go now.

Don't tell Wu Di about this.

By the way,

this is

our secret.

Take it slow.

Okay.

Be careful with the stairs.

I got it.

Okay.

Okay.

Sit tight.

Alright.

I'll get you some water.

Okay.

Thank you.

Should we ask him?

Ask what?

Everyone in the company is talking about that.

They say that Xiao Mo didn't align with Xia Yu

after receiving the heritage.

Saying that he tricked Mr. Xia

and sold his soul for gain.

I don't think

he is that kind of person.

Go and ask him if you want.

I won't ask him anyway.

You're his sister. You should go.
