[Episode 4]

[Collect the laundry tonight.]

Ms. Ou,

I can't go shopping with you.

I have something very important to handle.

I'll drop you off first. Let's go.

I haven't finished yet.

Let's go.

Is this how it works for you?

No, it's too dangerous.

Then tell me.

What's a better way?

Why would I ask you if I had a better way?

Set it up just like we agreed.

Also,

don't let Dakun realize anything.

Okay.

Great, Mr. Scorpion.

You're really something.

We substituted for good

and reap the benefits using the name of Group K.

He can't find us either.

That's great, Mr. Scorpion.

Group K is an elephant.

What are we?

A mouse.

But sometimes,

even a mouse can kill an elephant.

It's when the mouse

gets into the elephant's trunk.

Next,

when we've made enough money,

we'll be able

to compete with Group K.

Hurry, turn off the lights.

Mr. Scorpion.

It's so dark.

What can you see?

It's Li Ruosheng and Mu Qing.

We, Mu Qing and Li Ruosheng,

came here for a friendly visit.

I hope Mr. Scorpion can do me a favor and meet us.

Mr. Scorpion, there are only two of them. What should we do?

Make sure there's no one else.

Yes.

Those kids,

they have a lot of guts.

Mr. Scorpion, we're here to talk business.

Please let us in.

Mr. Scorpion, let's just kill them.

Li Ruosheng is the godson of the Ou.

We may get in trouble.

It's okay.

What can they do to us

with just two of them?

Grab your weapons. Let's go.

So you're inside, Mr. Scorpion.

You didn't answer us.

We've been yelling for so long.

You two are looking for me?

Mr. Scorpion, we just want to talk business with you.

Business is good.

Hand over the weapons.

There are no weapons when it comes to business.

Come on.

Nothing.

Nothing.

How did you find me?

It's easy to find a peer in the group.

But Mr. Scorpion, don't worry.

This time,

we are here with sincerity.

Go check it.

It's Ephedrine.

Mr. Scorpion,

you should trust us now.

What's the meaning of this?

Just one thing.

Mr. Scorpion is so famous.

But this hideout

is too shabby.

We run a small business.

We can't compare with you guys.

You're all suited up

just to buy some medicine.

You're just like a real estate agent.

Mr. Scorpion,

the agent does not earn as much as we do.

This time,

we're here to talk about

the joint production with you.

Okay.

Taste my goods.

Mr. Scorpion,

this kind of stuff

does not impress us at all.

It didn't impress you at all,

but it is able to attract drug addicts.

Are you surprised?

I will process the good stuff

and it will be 40% more.

I can earn 40% more.

Why should I

work with you guys?

Mr. Scorpion, as we know,

you can't even get the goods

into the pockets of the big distributors.

Nor can it enter the hot places.

You at most scatter the goods

with the help of these kids

and keep switching places.

You're so unprofessional.

But with both of us,

we can guarantee

you will earn twice

as much as now.

Mr. Scorpion, the raw materials outside

are a gift to you from us.

That means

you're here to join me.

Mr. Scorpion.

Isn't this welcome ceremony a bit too much?

It's understandable

if Mu Qing came to see me.

Li Ruosheng, you're Mr. Ou's godson.

You don't have to do this.

What do you want?

Mr. Scorpion,

I'm not ashamed

to be here today.

I'm Li Ruosheng and my godson reputation

didn't live up to its name.

My godfather didn't care about me.

We worked so hard for Group K's sake.

All the credit belongs to the Four Vajras.

We risked our lives

for a few places on Jinhua Street.

He gave them all to Dakun.

Mr. Scorpion, can you endure it if you were me?

I can't accept it.

The Xingxin area

and the development area,

Li Ruosheng and I got all of those.

And now?

He gave them to Congtou.

Honestly, it's not just Li Ruosheng,

even I can't bear it.

Mr. Scorpion.

We heard that you're righteous.

We want to work with you.

We'll handle the ingredients

and distribution if you grant it.

That's right, Mr. Scorpion.

You'll be lying on the bed

waiting for a lot of money

to flow into your pocket.

Why should I trust you?

The raw materials outside

are worth over two million.

Does it show our sincerity?

We'll check it later.

Hey guys, drink up.

Thank you.

Have a drink.

Wait a minute.

Mr. Scorpion asked us to check its purity.

Mr. Scorpion, it's pure.

I repeat.

Mr. Mu told us

not to kill anyone.

Got it. Put it on.

You, open the door.

You just lost.

Go.

Come on.

-Cheers. -Let's go.

Get weapons.

Move!

Go!

Come on, let's go.

Hurry up. Come on.

Mr. Scorpion, let's work well together.

Okay.

Thank you for your trust.

[Mr. Scorpion, we're in trouble.]

Mr. Scorpion.

Nobody moves.

Kill him. Go!

Get up.

You guys are late.

Mr. Scorpion, you are the first to die.

Any last words?

I don't have children.

Are you going

to handle my funeral if I tell you?

I'll shoot you right now.

Ruosheng, he's lucky if we shoot him.

Let's try something else.

Come on.

There's more entertainment.

What do you mean?

It's supposed to be used for escape.

There's no need for that now.

I'll leave it to Scorpion.

Take him in.

Hold on.

Even if it's broken, it's still a boat.

It's a pity to use it as a coffin for him.

Don't bother.

I did it too hard.

But you didn't suffer much.

Don't blame me.

What are you waiting for?

Clean up.

Also, drag that boat back.

Let's be economical.

Mr. Li, what about him?

Do you want to keep him?

[Let me remind you.]

[Drug Enforcement Squad has been watching Scorpion for a long time.]

We were supposed to end it in two days.

I don't care how you do it.

You have to leave

Scorpion to Bao Yunhai.

[We're going to get more clues from him.]

Captain Bao, search complete. No target found.

Go ashore.

Hey.

[Captain Bao, we found something.]

I bought something you like. Eat it.

Hey.

Don't lie to me.

Where were you last night?

You didn't come back.

You don't want to eat it?

I'll throw it away.

I don't care...

I got it.

You were with Li Ruosheng, right?

Yes, I was fooling around. What's wrong?

"What's wrong?"

What's wrong with you? You're so fierce.

What's on your sleeve?

Why is there blood?

Are you hurt?

Come here.

My goodness.

Ms. Ou.

I'm just a bodyguard.

I bump and get hurt every day.

It happens all the time.

You should eat.

I need to get changed and go out.

Sit down.

Did I tell you to get up?

Didn't I tell you?

You'll go wherever I go.

You're my bodyguard.

It's done. You left me alone at home.

You're out protecting others.

What if someone breaks in?

What if I get hurt?

What will you tell my dad?

Ms. Ou, I never pushed you

to choose me as your bodyguard.

You can switch me

if you have any complaints about me.

I won't.

I'm not done with you yet.

Don't go.

Why don't you stay at home

with Mr. Ou

as you just returned to China?

It's safest to stay at home

with Mr. Ou.

You can have

any bodyguard you want.

Pick whoever you want.

I don't want to.

Besides, he doesn't want me to live there.

Why?

Ask him yourself.

Is there such a dad?

Normally, he would just ignore me.

I went up to him.

Did you see how he treats me?

It's like he wants me to go far away from him.

I got it.

Is he doing something dirty?

That's why he is avoiding me.

Why didn't you go back to France

if you don't want to stay?

I don't want to go back.

You won't understand me.

And you.

Just be a bodyguard. That's it.

Understand?

Okay.

And I just want to give you a heads-up.

Switch me out whenever you want

if you have any complaints about me.

Understand?

No.

It's what you bought.

I'm changing. Don't come in.

What's wrong?

He's in a bad temper.

[You're the only one left. Why aren't you coming?]

[Are you sure you're going back]

[to deliver breakfast?]

[Or are you under the pretense]

[of bringing breakfast home?]

[Did Ms. Ou say she misses you?]

I'm going to save

what you sent.

I'll show it to your godfather

some other time.

[Director.]

We have proof of Scorpion and his drug production site.

If you had...

If you had given the order earlier,

it wouldn't be like this.

Many cases

are unsolved after Scorpion died.

We need to start over.

Hello, this is Liu Hanshan.

When is the comrade of Provincial Public Security Bureau coming?

Okay, don't worry.

I'll handle it.

I understand.

You can go back now.

Mr. Liu, I'll talk to him.

It was my fault for what happened with Scorpion.

I request disciplinary action.

It happened on an impulse.

It's not something you can control.

Let's talk about it later.

I came today to tell you

that the Drug Task Force of Provincial Public Security Bureau

sent Rong Yao to Yungang.

Why is he here?

Do you remember

the new drug I told you about last time?

It's possible

that Ou Zhenhai will take it over.

That's what Rong Yao is for.

Besides, the two of you need to work together

for our future missions.

So cooperate well with him.

Rong Yu is his sister.

Rong Yao is very sad

about her sacrifice.

So I hope you can understand

if he has any personal behavior

upon you.

I also want to remind you

not to let your personal feelings

affect the mission.

I understand.

Come on.

Everyone, bottoms up.

Let's drink until we drop.

Okay.

Music, let's go!

Are you ready?

Okay.

♫ My passion grows like a fire ♫

♫ Burning up the whole desert ♫

♫ The sun sees me ♫

♫ And avoids me ♫

♫ It's afraid of me ♫

♫ The fire of love ♫

Why are you sitting here?

Is it boring?

Girls, come here.

No, it's okay.

I just have a sore throat.

I need a drink to moisten it.

We worked so hard

to get such a beautiful battle done.

Why aren't you excited?

Get excited.

Ruosheng, everyone has different ways of getting excited.

The way I get excited

is by spending time alone.

I'm already excited.

I'm so excited.

Let's go inside.

Come on. Cheers.

Turn it off.

Hello, go ahead and speak.

Okay.

No problem.

No problem.

Guess what?

What?

Godfather wants to see us.

Really?

Our day to shine is coming.

When will we meet him?

Right now. Immediately.

But there's a big problem to be solved.

What?

Take Ou Kexin.

I'm not going.

No, Ms. Ou.

Mr. Glasses said Godfather wanted to see you.

This is a task for me.

You're putting me

in a tight spot if you don't go.

I'm not going.

I'm not going. You hear me?

Didn't you see how he acted that day?

He told me to get lost and go back abroad, right?

Yet he wants to see me now?

I'm not a ball.

I have my pride too.

Why are you competing

with your dad?

You and Godfather are closely linked.

Blood is thicker than water.

You're a family.

You call him "Godfather" again and again.

You guys really are a family.

You guys sound so close.

You're just an outsider.

My dad doesn't pick me up personally.

Instead, he asks an outsider

when he's the one who wants to see me.

Is he even sincere?

He...

He could be

bad at expressing himself.

I don't care. I'm not going anyway.

Tie me up if you really want me to go.

I wouldn't dare.

Ms. Ou, we're all here to discuss with you.

Discuss?

Okay.

How about you tell him this today?

I don't want to eat or sleep these past few days.

Tell him how pitiful I am

as exaggerated as possible.

Why?

Are you stupid?

I'm going to break his heart.

That's how he'll feel guilty.

Then he'll be good to me.

I'll tie him up with a chain of emotions and morals.

That's how I can live well.

It's very logical.

You have a point.

Deal?

Deal.

Yes!

I'll get changed and leave.

Kexin, welcome home.

-Does he really want to see me? -Yes.

He has been talking about you.

He'll cook for you today.

He wants to treat you well.

He knows he's in the wrong, right?

Let's see how he apologizes.

Say something nice after getting in.

I won't.

Mu Qing,

go to the second floor once you get inside.

Mr. Ou is waiting for you in the study.

What about me?

You know that Mr. Ou loves fish.

He asked you to go to the pond in the backyard.

Catch a fish and kill it.

All right.

Why does Godfather ask me to kill a fish?

Do you not know how or you are scared?

I don't know how.

I am scared, mostly.

You even killed Scorpion,

but you're scared to kill the fish?

That's not the same.

Poor little fish.

How can I kill a fish?

Then learn.

Remember, don't burst the fish's gallbladder.

Otherwise, it'll taste bitter, Chef.

Where is the gallbladder?

Come in.

Mr. Ou.

I haven't touched a knife in years.

I'm so clumsy.

I have to cook for everyone today.

Help me with it.

"Food Lists of the Garden of Contentment."

It was written by Yuan Mei.

Ancients know how to enjoy food.

Only a few items are needed

and it can create many different flavors

by a variety of different combinations.

It's way better compared to the fancy ways

of cooking nowadays.

Cooking food

is like mixing Chinese medicine.

It's all about hierarchy in Chinese medicine.

Ingredients and spices should be prioritized.

It's not good if the seasoning

is too strong to cover the taste

of the ingredients.

You're talking about Ruosheng and me.

It's not just you.

It's the whole group.

Do you know why I want to meet you alone?

Because of Scorpion.

That small scorpion is not enough

to bring you in front of me.

There are all kinds of ingredients

mixed up together

in our group.

Hierarchy and priority are not cleared.

I'm trying to add something to it

to change the taste.

I understand,

Sir.

Aren't you afraid of losing more for less?

What's less and what's more?

Jealousy is less.

Business is more.

You're quite interesting.

There's nothing wrong with your base.

You're honest and dedicated

after following Ruosheng.

It's not a problem.

But one thing I don't understand.

Why did you come here

when you had such skills?

And you follow a kid like Ruosheng.

Of course, it's for getting to the top.

You're so straightforward.

It's just not as complicated

as you thought.

Okay.

Have you ever thought about this?

You can't go back once you enter.

After coming in,

black cannot be white.

The white can't be mixed up in black.

I'm sure you're aware.

I was neither black nor white

before I met Ruosheng.

During those hard times,

I deeply feel like there's no middle zone

between black and white.

I'm certainly not white again since I chose black.

However, from your standpoint,

how dare I fish in troubled waters

under your eyes?

Okay.

I want to see you

because I don't want you

to fish in troubled waters anymore.

I want you to come to me

into this cauldron.

But there'll be a competition with the contents in it

after you add in the spice.

It all depends on your own instincts

whether you will get absorbed

by the ingredients,

or you can bring out

the original flavor of the ingredients.

As a cook, I can only throw you in.

I can't help you.

Yes, sir.

Ruosheng and I will do our best.

You're calmer and braver than Ruosheng.

I'll need you to help him in the future.

Let's go down and eat.

Yes, sir.

What did Godfather tell you?

About cooking.

-Cooking? -Yes.

You guys discuss about cooking?

Let's talk later.

I can't talk here.

You've changed.

How have I changed?

You did.

No, I didn't.

How can I talk here?

What are you talking about?

Just business stuff.

Ruosheng.

Yes.

Help me.

I'm coming.

You did.

It's always about business.

You're just being abused too much by my dad.

You don't even know about life.

Come here. Give me some soup.

Your dad didn't abuse me that much.

But you're treating me like a waiter.

How could I not use my authority?

Here.

Your dad is busy in the kitchen.

It's rude to eat first.

It won't taste good if it gets cold.

Who cares?

I'll do it myself.

Mr. Ou will be here soon.

Talk to him nicely.

Don't talk back to him.

Why should I listen to you, my bodyguard?

I'll do as you say

if you become my boyfriend.

Here you go.

Have a year of prosperity!

Here. Put it here. Give it to Kexin.

Sit down and eat.

I don't eat fish. I'm allergic.

Goodness.

How could I forget this?

It's okay. I'll eat the fish.

But I like the soup.

I'll get you one.

What's going on?

You kicked me out last time.

And now, you cooked so many dishes for me.

What's wrong?

Who killed the fish today?

Godfather, I killed it.

Did you break the fish's gallbladder?

You don't know how to kill fish?

Do you still resent me?

I would be lying

if I said I don't blame you.

But it's much better now.

How's Ruosheng's place?

There's no place like home.

I wish I could see you at home every day.

But you have to understand me.

I'm in a difficult situation. Okay?

I understand.

Still, you have to tell me the truth.

What?

What exactly do you do?

Why are you so secretive?

I can't even go home because of you.

Are you in national intelligence?

Intelligence?

Just remember.

No matter what I do, it's all for you.

Don't ask about what I do.

I know that.

I heard you spent Ruosheng's hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Is that so?

So they're tattling to you.

They're so petty.

Don't be too over the top.

They may look rich,

but it's not easy to make money.

It's not easy to live outside

as a girl either.

I need money, right?

Instead of asking me not to bully them,

why don't you make it simple?

Let me come back.

Once I'm almost done with my business,

I'll bring you back home.

But now, you have to stay away.

What are you doing?

Do you want me to go back again?

You've had enough fun

and had a reunion dinner.

I'll ask Mr. Glasses

to prepare money for you.

Go back to France first.

Then you can go to Europe or North America for fun.

I can't go anywhere for fun

if I really go back.

Why?

The only place I can go

is either court or prison

as soon as I return to France.

What do you mean?

Two days before I came back,

there was a fire on the outskirts of France.

Look it up yourself

if you really want to know.

Godfather really said that?

Of course.

That's great.

We're officially joining

the group's core today.

Soon I'll be equal with the Four Vajras.

Congratulations.

You finally got what you wanted.

Thank you.

Fine, I'll go. What's the big deal?

Who is wrong in the end?

It's all an act.

There you go again.

See for yourself.

He's asking you to go back.

I don't need you to tell me again.

Help me think of something.

Give me a reason.

I'm the daughter of your boss.

You're leaving.

I don't think it's a good reason.

I let you meet my dad.

Why can't you help me?

It's not that I don't want to.

It's that I can't even help you.

Everyone knows Mr. Ou never goes back on his word.

What can I do?

I got it. You think I'm annoying.

You can get rid of me

by taking this opportunity.

What if I say,

"Yes"?

You're ungrateful.

Kexin.

-Kexin. -Let go of me.

Kexin. Stop it, Kexin.

What's the matter?

He told me to go back to jail, right?

I want to stay in China.

Stay by his side.

Is it that hard?

Kexin, your dad does not know anything.

Please understand him.

He said to put it on hold.

Give me back the ticket.

Here you go.

What is it?

This is the living expense that he

wants to give you while you're in China.

Take it.

-Here, take this. -Go back and tell him.

I can live well

without his stinking money.

Mu Qing, take this money.

Take care of Kexin these days.

Mr. Glasses,

what about our business

if we take care of her?

That's what Mr. Ou wants.

Take it.

Why should I give the money to you?

Open the door.

Mr. Glasses.

Tell this to Mr. Ou.

We'll take good care of Kexin.

Go.
