[Capital City]

Are you done?

Yes. It looks perfect.

Come down.

Watch your steps.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

Why am I the one doing this?

Just come down quick.

Make sure you hang it perfectly straight.

[Escorting around the world]

Clean it too.

We'll check it in a while.

Sister, Brother-in-law.

Don't be impatient.

More haste

less speed.

Young Master, Young Madam.

We've done our best.

[Escorting around the world]

Although we've successfully delivered Wang Rong to the capital,

it was a daunting journey.

Thank heavens we made it.

Now that the trade route is open

and your agency has reopened,

you must be happy.

Finally, I can sleep in peace.

Something better awaits you.

What is it?

Getting married and becoming my wife.

I even bought a house for us.

Don't worry.

This property is yours.

I bought it with the money I earned myself.

Once we get married,

we'll move out

and spend our lives together, just the two of us.

Shameless.

I'm all yours now.

Aren't you going to take me?

I'll go check on them.

Shuan Zi.

Wait for me.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

We went through a lot of hardship,

but look,

it's all worth it.

Yang Xiao, thank you.

But

I need some time to think about our marriage.

Okay?

My brother said

Bai Yin Ruo wants to see you.

Will you see her?

Yes.

Did your brother say

when she'll come?

Zi Yuan, I brought you gifts.

I have rouge, gouache

and your favourite osmanthus wine.

You have not seen each other for a long time.

You have a lot of catching up to do.

I wonder if Shuan Zi and Liu Tiao are done cooking.

I'll go check on them.

I know you still blame me for everything. I...

Yin Ruo, let's talk inside.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

[Yue]

Yin Ruo.

We've known each other for such a long time,

but this is the first time we drink together.

I can't believe that

we've been drinking from day till night.

-Cheers. -Cheers.

Zi Yuan.

Do you know?

I feel ashamed and guilty every day.

I have no appetite and I can't sleep in peace.

Because of my mistake,

so many people got hurt.

How I wished you could punish me heavily.

But you didn't.

Yin Ruo, let's not talk about this anymore.

It's all in the past.

Here.

Zi Yuan.

If it weren't for me,

you would have gotten together with Yang Xiao a long time ago.

Yang Xiao is indeed

a good man who is worth marrying.

I hope you can get married to him as soon as possible

so you won't have regrets.

What about you?

I've made up my mind.

Once you get married,

I'll head to Guiyue State

and help the people for the rest of my life

as an atonement for my wrongdoings.

You're leaving?

What will happen to Yang Zhuo if you leave?

What about you and him?

Concubine Yu has been spreading rumours about me.

She said I bring bad luck.

To think of it now, she's right.

Yang Zhuo is a good man,

but I'm not a good match for him.

You can't think like that.

Concubine Yu is just talking nonsense.

Don't believe her.

Don't listen to her.

I mean...

We've met the worst.

Concubine Yu is not our match.

Are you okay?

Shuan Zi, what is going on outside?

Why is it so noisy?

I'm playing firecrackers with Liu Tiao.

It's fun.

Why are you doing that out of the blue?

You scared Yin Ruo.

Brother-in-law said

the firecrackers are for

celebrating the reopening of

Shenwei Armed Escorts

and

your reconciliation.

Enough of that. Get out.

Stop playing with firecrackers.

Keep it down.

Zi Yuan, you still care about me.

Don't you?

Don't worry, Yin Ruo.

As long as I'm here,

I won't let anyone bully you.

We've been waiting for months

but there is still no sign of the finale.

That's right.

Aren't you afraid that I will

destroy your stall today?

[Books]

I apologise but

"The Story of Yang Xiao and the Female Armed Escort"

by Meandering Jin

has stopped publication.

I think you have a death wish.

Disciple, I'm back.

Who's having a death wish?

Master, Master's wife.

You're back.

We're here to discuss a serious matter with you.

What serious matter can you two have?

Let's talk about it later.

Attention, everyone. Look here.

You won't want to miss this.

This is my master.

This is my master's wife.

They are the legendary

Yang Xiao and his female armed escort.

Let's give them a warm welcome

for coming here.

It's our honour!

Please give me your autograph.

You have to queue up.

One at a time.

Stay in a queue.

Master, Master's wife.

Tell me.

What's your status now?

I have no idea.

Why are you grabbing me?

I learned this from you.

Tell me, quick.

If you grab him again,

I'll hang you up the wall.

Look at you two.

Is it the finale already?

Are you together now?

Don't spoil it for me.

I'm going back to listen to it now.

You're going back there again?

Go home and convince your mother to let your sister marry my brother.

If not, the story will end.

My sister?

My sister has a bad reputation in the capital now.

Nobody would want to marry her.

If Meandering Jin is shunned by the people,

who can please the crowd in future?

What did you say?

My sister?

She is Meandering Jin?

A golden opportunity is looking at you now.

Do you want it?

I do. I want it so much.

Once you become the centre of attention in the capital,

you wouldn't care about the dowry anymore.

That's right.

If you can help your sister this time,

maybe the title

of Meandering Jin's next book should be called

"The Story of Bai Lang

and Jin Huan."

Really? That's great.

I, the capital's Little Green Worm...

No.

I mean Little Green Dragon will make his first debut.

Don't worry.

I'll go home and convince my mother.

I'll support their marriage at all costs.

Yes! My first debut!

[Bai Residence]

Regarding this matter...

The marriage between the two families was decided a long time ago.

As for the candidate...

Master Bai, my brother is the eldest in the family.

He has saved Miss Bai many times.

They're destined to be together

and they make a perfect pair.

That's right, Master Bai.

In terms of looks and talents,

Young Master Yang Zhuo fits the criteria perfectly.

Master Bai, I'm sincere towards Miss Bai.

I'll marry nobody but her.

Please give us your blessings.

Mother, my sister promised to write about me.

Since my daughter agrees with it...

Thank you, Master Bai.

Congratulations, Master.

It's a celebration for us all.

Congratulations to Sister and Brother-in-law.

Sister, can you include

this heroic matchmaking plot

in the book?

Sure. Don't worry.

Don't forget Jin Huan and Yin Huan too.

Keep that in mind.

Congratulations to Master Bai for getting a good son-in-law.

Congratulations, Master Bai.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Announcement. Wang Rong, an official of Guiyue State,

has abused his authority.

He failed to render his service to the imperial court

and failed to care for the people.

To safeguard his own interest,

he purposely obstructed the building of the new trade route.

To achieve his goal, he killed innocent people.

[Military]

Upon verification, he will be executed according to the law.

Wang Jian, the lieutenant working under Wang Rong

has admitted to his crimes and received his punishment.

Congratulations to Miss Zi Yuan for reviving Shenwei Armed Escorts.

Not bad, Zi Jun.

You look totally different in a suit of Armour.

Of course.

Where's your master? How is she doing?

She's good and getting busier than before.

Ever since the new trade route is open,

the economy in Guiyue State has improved.

My master even requested the imperial court

to build a Righteousness Hall at Qingfeng Camp.

Chief Zheng, the former Armed Escort Chief Yue,

Uncle Yang and everyone

who had all contributed to the

building of the new trade route

will have their names added in the hall

for people to worship.

That's great news.

[Yue, Shenwei Armed Escorts]

Here.

Here, everyone. Cheers.

Miss Zi Yuan.

Let's drink.

Zi Jun.

Let's cross our arms and drink this.

Keep your filthy hands to yourself.

Go stand guard outside.

Why should I?

Listen, Yang Xiao.

I may have given Miss Zi Yuan to you,

but you must treat her right.

If you treat her badly

and upset her,

I'll hold you responsible.

Zi Jun.

You're a completely different person after drinking.

Let me tell you this.

You won't have a chance to do that.

Shuan Zi, Liu Tiao.

Get him out.

You, get out!

If you dare lay a finger on me,

I'll make sure

the ladies forget you.

Pass me your cup.

I'll make sure you're happy.

Let me make a toast.

The new trade route is finally open

and Wang Rong is punished.

We've got our revenge.

So, let's toast to that.

Cheers.

Zi Jun.

How are our men at Qingfeng Camp doing now?

They are all in our army now.

They're making an honest living now

with a place to call home.

Looks like you've grown up.

You're no longer that silly little boy anymore.

You're handling important matters now.

Of course.

Who do you think I am now?

In short, they are all doing well.

Rest assured, Miss Zi Yuan.

I want to make a toast to everyone.

Let me drink to you first.

I know I owe everyone too much.

I won't ask for your forgiveness.

Yin Ruo, it's all in the past...

Zi Yuan, please let me finish.

I know that although I've made many mistakes,

you're still willing to forgive me.

But I just can't forgive myself.

Both of us have decided to leave the capital

and settle down in Guiyue State.

We'll spend the rest of our lives

helping the children and old people there

as an atonement for my wrongdoings.

Brother, have you really decided to go?

Yin Ruo and I have made up our minds.

Sit down, Yin Ruo.

Yes. Please take a seat.

Isn't this good news?

Since Guiyue State is under my watch,

I'll ensure your safety

when you're there.

Since you've made up your mind,

we'll say no more.

Zi Jun will look after you

when you're there.

Since we'll also be making deliveries

between the two places,

we can visit you frequently.

Miss Bai, we're forever your fans.

Here, let's drink.

Cheers.

Miss Zi Yuan, you've been through a lot too.

Tonight,

let's drink till we pass out.

Good idea.

Sister, let's drink.

Sure.

You can really drink nowadays.

I've grown up too.

Why are you here?

Is something bothering you?

What's wrong?

You have things you can't tell?

After going through so many hardships,

my brother finally got married.

But Zi Yuan and I

seem to be going nowhere.

I

plan to propose to Zi Yuan.

After all this time here,

you have not proposed yet?

Zi Yuan is such a good lady.

If you don't want to marry her, I will.

Who said you could do that?

You want to take her from me?

Since I can't get you,

I'll take Zi Yuan instead.

When you're not around,

I'll kidnap her.

As long as I have Zi Yuan,

Fengya Pavilion will grow.

By that time...

I'll propose to her tomorrow.

Both of you.

Keep this in mind.

Don't ever say

you're maids from Yang Residence.

If you do, and with that temper of hers,

I bet she won't fall for this.

Do you understand?

Yes.

Sister, an awesome deal came in.

I received a large order.

What order?

We just need to dress up nicely

and show ourselves at an event,

we'll get 100 silver taels.

[Ministry of Revenue Government Notes, 100 silver taels]

What a good deal.

We get 100 silver taels for showing up at an event?

That's right.

Don't tell me

they're going to use us to make up their numbers in a fight.

Shenwei Armed Escorts has a good reputation now.

We don't have to put on acts

or make up numbers for anyone.

That's true.

We're armed escorts,

not performers.

You're right.

These are the maids they sent to do your makeup.

Makeup?

Let's get ready then.

Let's do this.

What kind of job is this?

Why do I have to wear a wedding dress?

Is this really you?

You're so beautiful.

Of course.

Yang Xiao, did you set all this up?

The most talented and charming second son of the Yang family

gave you a job order.

Do you dare to take it?

Take it.

Chief Yue, if you don't take it, I'll take it.

Me too.

You take it, then.

♫ Withered lotus in the rain as dusk fades ♫

Zi Yuan.

♫ Swiftlets return to their nest in the dark courtyard ♫

♫ Leaning on the fence with a bottle in hand ♫

You betrayed me.

♫ Drunk and wondering when summer will return ♫

♫ Cool breeze and bright moon are a perfect match ♫

I'm eager to marry you.

♫ Meandering through the ages ♫

That's why I set this up.

I'm just an armed escort.

I have to go out and work.

♫ How could I resist the kiss of the rain? ♫

Your uncle wouldn't agree.

♫ But the past has settled ♫

Zi Yuan, you have to trust me.

♫ The words have been written on the page ♫

[Yang Residence]

What should we do?

Do you think I can do it?

I'm so nervous.

Why are you nervous?

An ugly bride will still have to meet her in-laws.

Ugly bride? You're the ugly groom.

Fine, nobody's ugly.

Greetings to you, Master Yang.

Greetings to you, Uncle.

At ease.

This female escort does indeed look more feminine

in a wedding dress.

Were you always together with Xiao'er in Guiyue State?

Master Yang.

Yang Xiao and I are soulmates and best friends.

We're both congenial to each other.

Good. A lady of noble birth.

What books have you read?

Master Yang.

I've read some books.

But I know that a lady's virtue is in not having talents.

Not having talents?

I can see you're quite talented.

[The Story of Yang Xiao and the Female Armed Escort]

It's all written in this book.

This is a good story.

It's a must-read before I sleep.

Too bad they stopped publication.

Once you marry into the Yang household,

you must keep me updated.

I'm still waiting for the latest chapter.

That's easy. I'll update you on the story.

Your order is my command...

Yes, Master Yang.

That's the legendary female escort.

This wedding must be held as soon as possible.

Xiao'er, you must treat Zi Yuan well in the future.

I will. Thank you for your blessings, Uncle.

Thank you for your blessings, Master Yang.

Good. At ease.

[Shenwei Armed Escorts]

[Wedding]

[Yue]

[Armed Escorts]

Attention, everyone.

Please stop creating noises.

The auspicious time is ticking.

Right. We have a lot of rites

and rituals to perform.

We still need to hold a ceremony at Yang Residence.

Since Yang Xiao

is also marrying into Shenwei Armed Escorts,

why don't we just

perform the ceremony here?

That makes sense.

I agree too.

Does everyone agree?

We agree.

We definitely agree.

I'm afraid that isn't right.

What are you afraid of? I think it's a good idea.

I don't care if it's right or not,

let's just do it here.

Liu Tiao, host the wedding ceremony.

Every minute of the wedding day is precious.

First bow to Heaven and Earth.

Second bow to the friends and relatives.

Great.

The groom and bride bow to each other.

You may enter the bridal chamber.

Good.

Every minute of the wedding day is precious.

Congratulations.

Two lovers are finally together.

I'm so happy for Zi Yuan.

You're right.

They've gone through many hardships

and are finally together now.

What's wrong? Do you miss him?

I'll miss her too.

I used to think that

as long as I'm determined enough,

I can make the person I love love me back.

Miss Zi Yuan is married now.

Seeing her so happy

made me realise that

it's pointless to cling on to something

too hard.

Who says I'm clinging on?

As long as Yang Zhuo is happy,

I don't mind.

Then who is this crybaby here?

My first love is gone.

Of course I'm upset.

When I was little,

every time I got upset,

Yang Zhuo would buy me sweets.

Wait here. I'll be back soon.

This is for you.

Look.

These are the brushes I've picked out for the children.

What do you think?

You always pick the best.

I've made up my mind.

Once we reach Guiyue State,

I'll use my dowry

to build a free school

and a free clinic.

And rent out shops at a low fee

for the people to make a living.

There's much to be done

once we get there.

From now on,

I just want to live a simple life with you.

From now on,

I'll stay by your side forever.

[Yue]

[Yue]

After putting in so much effort,

you're finally my bride.

Since I've married the chief of Shenwei Armed Escorts,

from now on

I can happily stay at home

and do nothing.

In your dreams!

That is my privilege.

You should focus on making money for the family.

I can do that.

But shouldn't you repay me with something?

What is that?

What do you think?

Sister.

What happened?

I just received an escort order from Fengya Pavilion.

The destination is Guiyue State.

Mistress said it's urgent.

Should we accept the order?

-Yes. -No.

Sikong Mu Yun must be doing this on purpose.

Tonight is the first night of our wedding.

She's offering 300 thousand taels.

It's still early. Why worry about the night?

Shuan Zi, get the horses ready.

We'll go now.

Alright.

You money-grubber.

Do you have to go now?

Of course.

This is the first order that will change our game.

We have to attend to this first.

Shouldn't we attend to something else first?

What else to attend to?

Job is more important.

Didn't you say you'll make money for the family?

Let's go.

Zi Yuan, can you spare me two hours?

[Have a baby soon]

No. How about six hours?
